Preventing the recombination of photoinduced charge carriers in different semiconductor photocatalysts is crucial but high‐performance photocatalyst is still challenging. Herein, we report the synthesis of a novel heterojunction of cobalt‐doped hydroxyapatite with CuWO4 i. e. Co‐HAp@CuWO4 nanocomposite by simple and facile ultrasonication technique. The morphological and structural features of the composite was examined using PXRD, FTIR, SEM, EDS, TEM, UV‐DRS and XPS techniques. The optical analysis showed that the band gap of Co‐HAp@CuWO4 nanocomposite is 1.59 eV which is very much lower than pure HAp. The photocatalytic efficiency of Co‐HAp@CuWO4 was assessed in the degradation of Eosin Y dye under solar light irradiation. The result of degradation capacity is 94.5 % after 70 minutes of solar irradiation and it follows pseudo first‐order kinetics. The impact of different reaction parameters such as catalyst amount, initial concentration of the dye, and solution pH was also examined. The recyclability test showed that the synthesized material was highly stable in the visible‐light driven dye degradation. Heterogeneous catalytic efficacy of the prepared nanocomposite was examined in the crossed aldol condensation reaction of benzaldehyde and acetone and the outcomes confirmed that dibenzylideneacetone (DBA) was formed in the condensation reaction in outstanding yields under optimum conditions. Mucormycosis in patients who have COVID-19 or who are otherwise immunocompromised has become a global problem, causing significant morbidity and mortality. Infection is debilitating and fatal, leading to loss of organs and emotional trauma. Radiographic manifestations are not specific, but diagnosis can be made through microscopic examination of materials collected from necrotic lesions. Treatment requires multidisciplinary expertise, as the fungus enters through the eyes and nose and may even reach the brain. Use of the many antifungal drugs available is limited by considerations of resistance and toxicity, but nanoparticles can overcome such limitations by reducing toxicity and increasing bioavailability. The lipid formulation of amphotericin-B (liposomal Am-B) is the first-line treatment for mucormycosis in COVID-19 patients, but its high cost and low availability have prompted a shift toward surgery, so that surgical debridement to remove all necrotic lesions remains the hallmark of effective treatment of mucormycosis in COVID-19. This review highlights the pathogenesis, clinical manifestation, and management of mucormycosis in patients who have COVID-19.

An ionic liquid, namely imidazolium sulfonic acid chloride (ISAC) has been electrostatically grafted over cerium oxide nanoparticles to produce a nanocomposite, nano‐CeO2‐IL. The as‐prepared composite was characterized by various analytical techniques such as XRD, FT‐IR, SEM, TEM, XPS, BET, UV‐DRS, PL, and TGA to confirm the grafting of ISAC over CeO2 NPs. The photocatalytic process is regarded as the method of choice for the elimination of air pollutants because of its great efficiency and relatively benign working conditions. According to UV‐DRS spectra, its optical gap is 2.07 eV, which is appropriate for the visible light spectrum. The composite was investigated as a visible‐light‐driven photocatalyst for hydroxylation of benzene to phenol and heavy metal Cr (VI) reduction. Moreover, the scavenger experiments confirmed the detection of ⋅OH radicals which played a crucial role in the photocatalytic experiments. Within 60 minutes, 98.5 % of benzene was converted to phenol with 82.7 % selectivity in addition to 93.63 % Cr (VI) reduction within 30 mins. The photocatalytic reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) follows a first‐order model with a rate constant of 0.027 min−1. The remarkably high photocatalytic performance of the catalyst may be ascribed to the synergistic interaction between the nano‐CeO2 catalyst and ionic liquid. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: The word 'luting' is derived from a latin word 'Lutum' which means 'mud'. 'Luting' is a word that is often used to describe the use of a mouldable substance to seal a space or to cement two components together. Therefore in view of the clinical importance of dissolution of luting cements in the oral environment, an in vitro study was designed to compare the sorption and solubility of commercially available luting cements mainly zinc phosphate, Glass Ionomer cement, Resin Modified Glass Ionomer Cement and Resin Cement .after immersion in artificial saliva of different ph values of 5 and 7. Aim: To Compare and Evaluate the sorption and solubility of four luting cements after immersion in artificial saliva of different pH values. Materials and Method: A total of 120 test samples were prepared of which 30 samples of each luting cement were prepared for the purpose of assessing the water solubility and sorptionThese luting cements were grouped as: GROUP- A (Zinc Phosphate cement), GROUP- B (Glass Ionomer Cement), GROUP-C (Resin Modified Cement), GROUP- D (Resin Cement) In these groups, based on immersion of artificial saliva of acidic pH 5 and neutral pH7 , the luting cement specimens were subdivided into 2 groups of 15 samples each. The volume (V) of each specimen was calculated using mathematical formula. Conclusion: Resin cement had the highest resistance to solubility and sorption followed by resin modified GIC , Conventional GIC, and Zinc Phosphate which exhibited the least resistance to solubility in both artificial saliva of pH 5 and pH 7.
