- Abstract
The resuspended microphytobenthos, mostly consisting of benethic diatoms, plays an important role in the production of O2 as a foof source for pelagic and benthic grazer at the water-sediment interface of the coastal environment.In the coastal shallow waters of the Gulf of Triest, the possible modifications in diatom community living at the water-sediment interface have been studied in respect of disturbed conditions, such as the presence of suspended mussel cultures. Resuspendirani mikrofitobentos, ki sestoji predvsem iz bentoških diatomej, igra pomembno vlogo v proizvajanju O2 kot hrane za pelagične in bentoške prehranjevalce na vmesni plasti vodnih usedlin v morskem obržnem okolju. Da bipreverili morebitne spremembe v kopičenju diatomej na vmesni plasti vodnih usedlin zaradi tam domujočih suspendiranih kultur užitnih klapavic, je bilo opravljenih več raziskav na dveh izbranih postajah v Tržaškem zalivu.
