In recent years, realizing new topological phase of matter has been a hot topic in the fields of physics and materials science. Topological semimetals and metals can conventionally be classified into two types: type-I and type-II according to the tilting degree of the fermion cone. Here, it is the first time to report a new topological metal phase with the critical-type nodal line between type-I and type-II nodal line. The critical-type nodal line shows a unique nontrivial band crossing which is composed of a at band and a dispersive band and leads to a new fermionic state. We propose intermetallic CaPd can be an existing topological metal for the new fermionic state, characterized with critical-type nodal line in the bulk and drumhead band structure on the surface. Our work not only promotes the concept of critical-type nodal line, but also provides the material realization to study its exotic properties in future experiments.

Identifying applicable anode materials is a significant task for Li- and Na-ion battery (LIB and NIB) technologies. We propose the GaN monolayer (2D GaN) can be a good anode candidate. The GaN monolayer manifests stable Li/Na adsorption and inherently low theoretical voltages. Most excitingly, both high storage capacity and extremely fast Li/Na diffusion can be simultaneously realized in the GaN monolayer. For Li, the storage capacity and diffusion barrier is 938 mA h g-1 and 80 meV , respectively. And the values for Na are 625 mA h g-1 and 22 meV. Comparing with known 2D anode materials with similar scale of ion diffusion barriers, the GaN monolayer almost possesses the highest Li/Na storage capacity discovered to date. Our work suggests that the 2D GaN is a prospective anode material offering fast ion diffusion and high storage capacity.

Triply degenerate band crossing can generate novel triply degenerate nodal point (TDNP) fermions. For the TDNP character to the best manifest in physical properties, it desires that the TDNPs are near the Fermi level, far away with each other in the reciprocal space, and not coexisting with other quasiparticles or extraneous bands. Here we predict that the centrosymmetic material Li2NaN is a realistic TDNP semimetal that meets all these requirements. Li2NaN features only a single pair of TDNPs at the Fermi level, under the protection of the C6v symmetry. Interestingly, the TDNPs identified here show the critical-type band crossing, which is different from those in previously reported TDNP semimetals. The Fermi arc surface states for the TDNPs have been identified. Under lattice strain, we show that the position of the TDNPs can be tuned, and the TDNPs can even be annihilated. The centrosymmetry in Li2NaN makes the TDNP transform into a critical type Dirac point under the spin-orbit coupling, which is drastically distinct from those in noncentrosymmetric systems. The recent discovery of quasi-one-dimensional Chromium-based superconductivity has generated much excitement. We study in this work the superconducting instabilities of a representative compound, the newly synthesized KCr$_3$As$_3$ superconductor. Based on inputs from density functional theory calculations, we first construct an effective multi-orbital tight-binding Hamiltonian to model its low-energy band structure. We then employ standard random-phase approximation calculations to investigate the superconducting instabilities of the resultant multi-orbital Hubbard model. We find various pairing symmetries in the phase diagram in different interaction parameter regimes, including the triplet $f$-wave, $p_z$-wave and singlet $s^\pm$-wave pairings. We argue that the singlet $s^\pm$-wave pairing, which emerges at intermediate interaction strength, is realized in this material. This singlet pairing is driven by spin-density wave fluctuations enhanced by Fermi-surface nesting. We point out that phase-sensitive measurement can distinguish the $s$-wave pairing in KCr$_3$As$_3$ from the $p_z$-wave previously proposed for a related compound K$_2$Cr$_3$As$_3$. The $s^{\pm}$-wave pairing in KCr$_3$As$_3$ shall also exhibit a subgap spin resonance mode near the nesting vector, which can be tested by inelastic neutron scattering measurements. Another intriguing property of the $s^\pm$-pairing is that it can induce time-reversal invariant topological superconductivity in a semiconductor wire with large Rashba spin-orbit coupling via proximity effect. Our study shall be of general relevance to all superconductors in the family of ACr$_3$As$_3$ (A=K, Rb, Cs).

In this paper, we study automatic keyphrase generation. Although conventional approaches to this task show promising results, they neglect correlation among keyphrases, resulting in duplication and coverage issues. To solve these problems, we propose a new sequence-to-sequence architecture for keyphrase generation named CorrRNN, which captures correlation among multiple keyphrases in two ways. First, we employ a coverage vector to indicate whether the word in the source document has been summarized by previous phrases to improve the coverage for keyphrases. Second, preceding phrases are taken into account to eliminate duplicate phrases and improve result coherence. Experiment results show that our model significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art method on benchmark datasets in terms of both accuracy and diversity., Comment: EMNLP 2018

Two-dimensional (2D) lattices composed exclusively of pentagons represent an exceptional structure of materials correlated to the famous pentagonal tiling problem in mathematics, but their $\pi$-conjugation and the related electronic properties have never been reported. Here, we propose a tight-binding (TB) model for a 2D Cairo pentagonal lattice and demonstrate that $p$-$d$ $\pi$-conjugation in the unique framework leads to intriguing properties, such as an intrinsic direct band gap, ultra-high carrier mobility and even slant Dirac cones. On the basis of first-principles calculations, we predict a candidate material, 2D penta-NiP$_2$ monolayer, derivated from bulk NiP$_2$ crystal, to realize the predictions of the TB model. It has ultra-high carrier mobility ($\sim$$10^5-10^6$ $cm^2V^{-1}s^{-1}$) comparable to that of graphene and an intrinsic direct band gap of 0.818 eV, which are long desired for high-speed electronic devices. The chain-type nodal loops in the reciprocal space can generate exotic nodal chain fermions. Here, we report that Li2XY (X = Ca, Ba; Y = Si, Ge) compounds are ideal inner nodal chain semimetals. Their band structures are composed of two connecting nodal loops with either hybrid or type-I band dispersion. The signatures of the nodal chain, such as the nontrivial surface states, are quite pronounced in these Li2XY compounds since there is only a single inner nodal chain without other extraneous bands near the Fermi level. These compounds are existing materials and ambient-stable, which is available to realize the experimental detection of inner nodal chain fermions or further the practical applications., Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures

Lung ultrasound surface wave elastography (LUSWE) is a novel noninvasive technique for measuring superficial lung tissue stiffness.The purpose of this study was to translate LUSWE for assessing patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD) and various connective diseases including systemic sclerosis (SSc).In this study, LUSWE was used to measure the surface wave speed of lung at 100 Hz, 150 Hz and 200 Hz through six intercostal lung spaces for 91 patients with ILD and 30 healthy control subjects. In addition, skin viscoelasticity was measured at both forearms and upper arms for patients and controls. The surface wave speeds of patients' lungs were significantly higher than those of control subjects for the six intercostal spaces and the three excitation frequencies. Patient skin elasticity and viscosity were significantly higher than those of control subjects for the four locations on the arm. In dividing ILD patients into two groups, ILD patients with SSc and ILD patients without SSc, significant differences between each patient group with the control group were found for both the lung and skin.No significant differences were found between the two patients group, although there were some differences at a few locations and at 100 Hz. The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between erectile pressure (EP) and shear wave speed of the corpus cavernosa obtained via a specific ultrasound vibro-elastography (UVE) technique. This study builds upon our prior investigation, in which UVE was used to evaluate the viscoelastic properties of the corpus cavernosa in the flaccid and erect states. A two-dimensional poroviscoelastic finite element model (FEM) was developed to simulate wave propagation in the penile tissue according to our experimental setup. Various levels of EP were applied to the corpus cavernosa, and the relationship between shear wave speed in the corpus cavernosa and EP was investigated. Results demonstrated non-linear, positive correlations between shear wave speeds in the corpus cavernosa and increasing EP at different vibration frequencies (100-200 Hz). These findings represent the first report of the impact of EP on shear wave speed and validates the use of UVE in the evaluation of men with erectile dysfunction. Pleural effusion manifested as compression of pleural fluid on the lung parenchyma, contributing to hypoxemia. Medical procedure such as drainage of plural fluid releases this compression and increase the oxygenation. However, the effect of pleural effusion on the elasticity of lung parenchyma is unknown. By using the lung ultrasound surface wave elastography (LUSWE) and finite element method (FEM), the effect of pleural effusion on the elasticity of superficial lung parenchyma in terms of surface wave speed measurement was evaluated in a sponge phantom study. Different thickness of ultrasound transmission gel simulated as pleural fluid was inserted into a condom which was placed between the sponge and standoff pad. A mechanical shaker was used to generate vibration on the sponge phantom at different frequencies ranging from 100 to 300 Hz while ultrasound transducer was used to capture the motion for measurement of surface wave speed of the sponge. FEM was conducted based on the experimental setup and numerically assess the influence of pleural effusion on the surface wave speed of the sponge. We found the influence of thickness of ultrasound transmission gel was statistically insignificant on the surface wave speed of the sponge at 100 and 150 Hz both from experiments the FEM., Comment: 20 pages, 6 figures, 1 table
