Although organizational resilience is crucial for sustainable development of enterprises, how to build organizational resilience remains unclear in the age of digital transformation. Drawing on resource orchestration theory, this study examines the impact of supply chain integration on organizational resilience and subsequent sustainable performance. Using a sample of 218 Chinese agriculture firms, the empirical results show that supply chain integration has a positive impact on organizational resilience. Organizational resilience partially mediates supply chain integration and sustainable performance. Digital technology usage has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between internal supply chain integration and organizational resilience, but has no significant moderating effect on the relationship between external supply chain integration and organizational resilience. This paper explores the role of institutional pressures and supply chain integration in the adoption of Circular Economy practices. Using a Delphi-like approach and leveraging on a panel of 30 experts in the field of Circular Economy, this study aims to gain additional insights into how coercive, normative, and mimetic pressures can drive the implementation of circular supply chains. The findings reveal a hierarchy of institutional pressures, with coercive market and regulatory pressures having a greater impact compared to normative and mimetic pressures. Additionally, the study identifies various responses to these pressures, illustrating different trajectories towards the implementation of Circular Economy practices. Furthermore, the research investigates the role of supply chain integration. Generally, a higher level of supply chain integration can amplify the effect of institutional pressures, promoting the adoption of incremental Circular Economy practices. However, it is noteworthy to mention that supply chain integration may also hinder the adoption of more radical Circular Economy approaches, favouring the retention of linear supply chains. This research evaluates the effect of customer relationship management (CRM) on customer knowledge and customer satisfaction. An analysis of archival data for a cross-section of U.S. firms shows that the use of CRM applications is positively associated with improved customer knowledge and improved customer satisfaction. We report the inductive development of a framework for enhancing the integration of supply chains. The framework has been motivated by the need to enhance the participation of small and medium enterprise (SME) suppliers and resellers in the supply chain. Extant diagnostics are geared towards enabling enterprises to evaluate or benchmark themselves on a self-administered rating scale in relation to their peers. In contrast, the present framework aims to enable small-sized suppliers and resellers to systematically imbibe supply chain integration practices, to the extent applicable, from their more advanced trading partners, after possibly adapting them to their own business circumstances. The broad approach has been to first conduct in-depth case study research into enterprises that excel in one or more facets of integration (customer integration, supplier integration etc.) and then induce items pertaining to various themes and sub-themes of supply chain integration. The resulting framework is thus an empirically well-grounded and fine-grained, actionable complement to extant, broader-brushed mechanisms and diagnostics for supply chain integration. In today's manufacturing industries, companies have recognised the importance of focusing on their core manufacturing capabilities, leading to a greater reliance on suppliers and business partners. Consequently, manufacturing co-ordination across the supply network is of vital importance for improved customer service and efficiency of individual companies and the whole network. This paper introduces the important aspects of the IST project: Co-OPERATE, which aims to develop a Web-based system for better co-ordination of manufacturing planning and control activities across the supply network. A framework for manufacturing co-ordination in the supply network is first introduced, which consists of seven interrelated co-ordination processes. Then, they are prioritised and four core processes for co-ordinating supply chain planning and execution activities in the short- to medium-term are chosen for further development, which comprise the main modules of the Co-OPERATE system. This is followed by the description of the implementation and evaluation for the Co-OPERATE system. Finally, some important issues are discussed and the presented work is concluded. Supply chain integration has been established as one of the key factors in influencing supply chain effectiveness. In relation to the food processing industry, the need to integrate supply chain initiatives has become more critical as those involved in the food processing and distribution industry are deemed key players whose roles are pertinent in determining supply chain success. Drawing upon the importance of integration, this study establishes the link between supply chain social capital constructs with integration. Based on a final sample size of 184 food manufacturers, a survey was conducted to determine the influence of supply chain relational capital, supply chain structural and supply chain cognitive on the integration of the food processing supply chain. The findings reveal that all three dimensions of supply chain social capital exert significant influence on supply chain integration, thus indicating the importance and relevance of integration among members in the food processing industry. With such findings, the study establishes that both structural and relational elements are of significant importance in ensuring the achievement of ultimate business performance. Although the study has not directly relate supply chain integration with business performance, the direction of the study is substantial to postulate that such relationships is possible and this therefore will be the direction of future study.

In today?s knowledge based globalized business world, the contemporary organizations are thriving to apply the innovative as well as modern business techniques and tools in their products and processes regularly. Besides, the organizations give sufficient significance while building up their business organisms and operations in order to utilize the innovative methodologies alongside their other primary procedures. Based on the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and prior literature on management of supply chain, this paper analyzed an integrated model of ERP assimilation and integration by using Saudi Arabian firms as a case. This paper addresses the questions (1) there is a positive link between technological, organizational and environmental factors and ERP implementation, and (2) that ERP implementation encourages SCI (Supply Chain Integration) and performance. The paper empirically examines the antecedents of ERP implementation on SCI which will lead towards the firm performance by using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) as an approach. Moreover, ERP is used as a mediating factor by using quantitative data, collected from Tadawul. Tadawul is Saudi Arabian stock exchange, in which 167 firms are registered. The results of the paper, may add to the hypothetical comprehension of accomplishing a change in supply chain management, and might leave some imperative implications for the firms motivated by enhancing their supply chain performance. It is also found that the linkage from ERP implementation to SCI is very significant.

Background: It is understood that improving performance has become an important objective of supply chains. As such, strategies have been adopted as an effort towards increasing performance. Amongst these strategies, partnership, collaboration and integration have been identified. A mutual advantage of these approaches is that they facilitate cohesion between parties where knowledge and resources are pooled together and shared with the purpose of achieving optimum results. However, it is observed that the extent to which partnership, collaboration and integration affect supply chain performance collectively is a research void. Objectives: This study intended to examine the influence of partnership, collaboration and integration on supply chain performance, particularly within the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector. The theory of relational view was adopted to support the study’s conceptual model. Method: The study used SmartPLS to analyse the data. Results: Three hypotheses were empirically substantiated using a sample of 271 SMEs situated in Gauteng. Conclusion: The findings revealed that the research constructs partnership, collaboration and integration influence supply chain performance in a positive way. Implications of the study are further provided.

As the recent industrial situation is characterized by a growing global competition, decreasing product life cycles and increased levels of global outsourcing, among other challenges, the importance of supply chain integration between companies and its suppliers has become a critical factor for their survival in the international market. The way on how they arrange their supply networks to accomplish a flexible supply chain will define the future of modern enterprises. This article aims to explore Supply Chain Management in the Lithuanian metallurgical industry. More precisely, it will be focused on determining its supply chain and describing actual situation and relationships that affect it. Additionally, this paper looks to analyze the possible improvements that could be made in order to make it more efficient. In addition, to get an overview of the present supply chain in the metallurgical sector, a survey has been sent to a selection of metal-manufacturing companies inside Lithuania. The conducted survey-questionnaire represents the empirical research base for this study. Long and complex supply chains are vulnerable to disruptions. One way to solve this problem is to successfully manage supply chain integration (SCI). A system dynamics simulation is thus applied to study a cheese supply chain with three individual firms: a producer, a logistics service provider (LSP), and a retailer. Our purpose is to study the effects of SCI strategies with different dimensional focuses, i.e., information integration (Scenario 1), relational integration (Scenario 2), and operational integration (Scenario 3), on the recovery of three types of disruptions, i.e., a producer capacity disruption, an LSP capacity disruption, and a demand disruption. Tests of parameter scenarios are further applied to provide solutions for supply chains using different strategies. Our results indicate that Scenario 3 is the best practice, regardless of any type of disruption, while Scenario 1 usually achieves the worst performance. This is consistent with an evolutionary perspective of supply chain integration: information integration gives firms a competitive advantage as the first step. Working as partners to share the most appropriate information leads to greater benefits. We extend this perspective by showing that further elimination of information delay helps the supply chain achieve the best performance.

The current market setting breeds stern competition among business organisations. This has made firms that rely on only in-house core competencies to reengineer their strategies and approaches to look beyond their boundaries to tap into the supply chain capabilities and benefits. This has ignited our interest to conduct this study to investigate how logistics information technology can enhance supply chain integration and improve firms' ability to increase customer satisfaction to achieve high organisational performance in the distribution industry in Ghana. We use survey data we collected from 179 managers at least 5 years' experience in procurement, supply chain, distribution, information and logistics. All the hypotheses we tested using SmartPLS-3 were supported and accepted. We have discovered that firms that adopt logistics information technology have a great chance of influencing their performance through customer satisfaction, and both internal and external integration with customers and suppliers. This paper proposes an integrative approach to exploring the contribution of supply chain management (SSCM) to business performance. Three dimensions of SSCM, i.e., inbound sustainability, internal sustainability, and outbound sustainability, were proposed. The conceptual model was tested in the context of the Chinese manufacturing sector using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results showed that outbound sustainability was directly related to business performance, while inbound and internal sustainability indirectly affected business performance. The model also revealed that customer integration enhanced the relationship between internal sustainability and outbound sustainability. The results suggested that supply-side and demand-side sustainability had unique roles and that the entire supply chain should be integrated when exploring the link between SCCM and business performance. A supply-side collaborative advantage was necessary but not sufficient, and business performance was achieved only when demand-side value creation was realized. The container shipping industry is receiving growing attention in driving the performance of global supply chains. This phenomenon has accelerated supply chain integration (SCI) within the industry. Although SCI could offer numerous benefits, it is often quoted to be implemented easier in theory than in practice. The high failure rate that is associated with SCI is often not addressed in the literature. Grounded on resource-based view (RBV) theory, this paper is aimed at identifying the critical success factors (CSFs) and examining their influence on SCI and supply chain performance (SCP). Survey questionnaires were administered on 164 container shipping firms. The constructs were validated empirically using confirmatory factor analysis and were subsequently analysed using structural equation modelling. The proposed CSFs in this study are found to be positively corelated with SCI, which, in turn, is positively correlated with SCP. This paper has contributed to both theory and practice by applying RBV theory to identify the key resources and capabilities that are necessary for SCI in the container shipping industry. The purpose of the case study is to investigate whether a combined Lean Six Sigma philosophy can help to improve collaboration to get more integrated supply chains. The method used was Literature review, multiple case study, face-to-face interviews and observations on-site in seven large swedish companies. It has been indicated that by implementing Lean Six Sigma Philosophy companies could improve business environment and improve collaboration to get integrated supply chains. While research has extensively explored the potential benefits companies gain with integrated supply chains, the topic of why some companies are better at pursuing supply chain integration (SCI) is relatively under‐examined. We take the perspective that SCI is associated with preferred forms of leadership using leadership preference derived from path–goal logic. By combining global data sources, we examine the relationships among leadership style preferences, internal integration (i.e., between sales and purchasing) programs, and external integration (i.e., supplier side) programs. Our country‐level results challenge the assumption that the choice to pursue internal and external integration has similar origins. Specifically, while collaborative‐style leadership preferences relate to internal integration programs, societies preferring individualistic‐style leaders will be predisposed toward external integration programs. Much has been written about the importance of supply chain integration in determining firm performance. Moreover, for halal food production that is depending upon the wholesomeness in the supply chain, the external integration is crucial. However, there are scarce literature and managerial guide that focus on supply chain integration in the halal food industry. The aim of this research is to provide empirical evidence in explaining supply chain integration in the context of the halal food industry through a survey from 275 firms. The results provide strong empirical evidence on integrative activities and supply chain integration practices of halal food firms in Malaysian.
