Microplastics are easily consumed by marine animals, thereby entering the food chain and endangering animal health. However, there are few studies focusing on the effects of microplastics in mangrove sediments on microbial communities. In order to study the influence of microplastics on microorganisms, microplastics and microorganisms were extracted from Zhanjiang (Guangdong Province, China) mangrove sediments and analyzed. The results showed that there were differences in Shannon and Simpson indices of the microbial community in microplastics (p 0.05), and there were also differences between JG30_KF_CM45 and Natranaerovirga at the genus level, indicating that microplastics may affect the diversity and composition of microorganisms in sediments. In addition, FAPROTAX function prediction analysis showed that microplastics may affect the nitrification of microbial communities. The results from this study indicate that microplastics affected the diversity and richness of microorganisms in mangrove sediments, which provides an experimental basis for the relationship between microplastics and microorganisms.

Blood glucose was monitored using a dynamic blood glucose monitor to obtain the mean blood glucose (MBG), which is used to calculate the RTG. The factors influencing the RTG were then analyzed.Results: The mean RTG in patients with newly diagnosed T2DM was 203.58 ± 55.22 mg/dl. The correlation between the RTG and the various variables was analyzed, and the results demonstrated that the RTG was correlated with the patient’s age (r = − 0.14539, P = 0.0001); MBG (r = − 0.35009, P = 0.0001); renal long neck (r = 0.16762, P = 0.0001); homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (r = − 0.38322, P = 0.0001); homeostatic model assessment for beta-cell function (r = − 0.22770, P = 0.0001); and the levels of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c; r = 0.98994, P = 0.0001), blood urea nitrogen (r = − 0.11093, P = 0.0004), creatinine (r = − 0.26414, P = 0.0001), uric acid (r = − 0.20149, P = 0.0001), total cholesterol (r = 0.13192, P = 0.0001), low-density lipoprotein (r = 0.12466, P = 0.0001), thyroid-stimulating hormone (r = − 0.06346, P = 0.0460), beta-2 microglobulin (r = − 0.08884, P = 0.0056), and 24-hour urine glucose (r = 0.32115, P = 0.0001). Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis revealed that the HbA1c, 24-hour urine glucose, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), D-dimer, and body mass index (BMI) should be included in the final model, and HbA1c had the greatest impact on the RTG followed in descending order by the 24-hour urine glucose, eGFR, D-dimer, and BMI (P < 0.05).Conclusion: The RTG increases in most patients with newly diagnosed diabetes. Background COVID-19 has become a public health emergency based on its clinical characteristics. Previous studies demonstrated that the onset of a sudden and immediately life-threatening illness could lead to extraordinary amounts of psychological pressure on nurses who play an important role in the illness. Whether COVID-19 pandemic has greater impacts on the psychological status and somatic symptoms from nurses who stand in the frontline of this crisis remain unclear. Methods We evaluated post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and somatic symptoms in the frontline nurses (n = 438) who served in Wuhan, China, during COVID-19 crisis. Nurses who did not worked in the frontline of COVID-19 served as controls (n = 452). The investigation was processed by online questionnaires including: impact of event scale-revised (IES-R) , self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), and somatic symptoms. Results Prevalence of moderate and severe PTSD was significantly increased in the frontline nurses compared to non-frontline nurses. Prevalence of mild anxiety was significantly increased in frontline nurses compared to non-frontline nurses. There were more frontline nurses suffering from severe insomnia and losing weight compared to non-frontline nurses. Severity of PTSD (IES-R score), but not severity of anxiety (SAS score) was similarly positively correlated to incidence of insomnia and weight loss in both frontline and non-frontline nurses to a similar extent. Limitations The results only represented psychological statues and somatic symptom on one time point thus the development of psychological stress and somatic symptom during pandemic of COVID-19 in the frontline nurses were missing. Conclusions COVID-19 negatively impacted on psychological and somatic status in frontline nurses. PTSD may be the most reliability and validity criteria for evaluating psychological and somatic status for frontline nurses of COVID-19.

Objective: To explore Professor Yang Suqing’s experience in treating blood stasis syndrome of psoriasis vulgaris and analyze the characteristics of its prescription; Methods: Outpatient prescriptions for the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris with blood stasis syndrome were selected and extracted traditional Chinese medicine for standardized processing. Then analyze the data by using set visualization analysis and Apriori algorithm. Results: A total of 149 traditional Chinese herbs were extracted. Among them, and the top 12 commonly used herbs with frequency > 30 were Licorice, Saposhnikovia, Schizonepeta tenuifolia, Angelica sinensis, Paeonia lactiflora, Ligusticum chuanxiong, Rehmannia glutinosa, Cicada slough, Oyster and Keel through the set visualization analysis, herbs association rules analysis, and herbs combination analysis. Saposhnikovia, Liquorice, Schizonepeta tenuifolia, Angelica sinensis and Paeonia Alba are the most commonly used combination of herbs by Professor Yang Suqing in the treatment of blood stasis syndrome of psoriasis vulgaris. Conclusion: In addition to invigorating blood circulation and removing blood stasis herbs, which are preferred for the treatment of blood stasis syndromes, Saposhnikovia and Schizonepeta tenuifolia, etc., are used to synergistically exert the functions of invigorating blood circulation and removing blood stasis and eliminating wind expression, with remarkable efficacy.

SMIFH2 is a small molecule inhibitor of the formin family of cytoskeletal regulators that was originally identified in a screen for suppression of actin polymerization induced by the mouse formin Diaphanous 1 (mDia1). Despite widespread use of this compound, it is unknown whether SMIFH2 inhibits all human formins. Additionally, the nature of protein/inhibitor interactions remains elusive. We assayed SMIFH2 against human formins representing six of the seven mammalian classes and found inhibitory activity against all formins tested. We synthesized a panel of SMIFH2 derivatives and found that, while many alterations disrupt SMIFH2 activity, substitution of an electron-donating methoxy group in place of the bromine along with halogenation of the furan ring increases potency by approximately five-fold. Similar to SMIFH2, the active derivatives are also pan-inhibitors for the formins tested. This result suggests that while potency can be improved, the goal of distinguishing between highly conserved FH2 domains may not be achievable using the SMIFH2 scaffold.
