Metadata records are often incomplete and challenging for fiction, where metadata categories, when present, are too broad. This project constructs a machine learning pipeline for fiction classification using the HTRC Extracted Features Dataset, and based on previous work from Underwood et al. We will detail the methodology, early results, and planned future work in generating this dataset.

It will demonstrate the basic features of CATMA and how annotation data can be processed using either the Python package GitMA (Vauth et al. 2021) or the web-based visualization tool vis-À-vis (Münz-Manor et al. 2020). The workshop will provide answers to questions like: How do I access my CATMA annotation data via GitMA? How do I calculate the agreement between multiple annotators? How do I generate advanced visualizations of the texts and annotations in vis-À-vis? How do I visualize collaboratively created annotation data stored in multiple collections?

Digital editions, text collections, and lexical resources each have their own tradition in the (digital) humanities and at the same time, the data domains also share common methods and practices of indexing, modeling, and analysis. The Text+ consortium in the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI)is dedicated to the handling of research data in the three aforementioned research domains and is exploring methods and practices of cross-domain use of datasets and the resulting collaboration between research fields. The poster shows the connections between the three data domains in Text+ using a concrete example: the edition of letters by the German writer Jean Paul (Jean Paul Friedrich Richter, 1763–1825) of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW). The poster was accepted and presented at the DH2023 conference in Graz.

In this poster, researchers from different projects present the integration of existingTEI-encoded corpora into a repository and analysis infrastructure, as well as the benefits of this integration. The focus is not on resource creation (corpus design or text encoding), but on infrastructure integration, dissemination and re-use of existing resources. The NFDI consortium Text+ seeks the integration of already existing resources, for example through the publication of corpora in repositories. We present the publication of the corpora of the European Literary Text Collection in the TextGrid Repository, discuss their characteristics and the advantages of this integration. The poster was accepted and presented at the DH2023 conference in Graz.

The data within collections from all Digital Humanities fields must be trustworthy. To this end, both provenance and change-tracking systems are needed. This contribution offers a systematic review of the metadata representation models for provenance in RDF, focusing on the problem of modelling conjectures in humanistic data., Comment: 10 pages, 2 figures, submitted to the ADHO Digital Humanities Conference 2023
