Günümüz İngiliz tiyatro yazarı Martin Crimp eserlerinde dil ve tiyatro tekniklerini yaratıcı ve deneysel yöntemlerle kullanarak, tiyatronun kültür, politika ve felsefe gibi diğer uygulama alanlarına açılımını sağlar. Geleneksel/naturalist/realist yazma kurallarını altüst ederek, karakter, olay örgüsü, zaman ve mekân olgularını yeniden keşfeder. Metinler aracılığı ile izleyicinin/okuyucunun zihnini kontrol altında tutarak, hayatın yeni olasılıklarını keşfetmemizi sağlar. Eserleri deneysel, modern ve postmodern geleneklerin birleştiği karmaşık bir yapıya sahiptir. Kendisini kara mizah yazarı olarak kabul eden Crimp için eserlerinde hiciv itici bir güç olmuştur. Oyunlarında özellikle orta sınıfın yaşam davranışlarını, tutumunu, konuşma ve zihin alışkanlıklarını, burjuva ayrıcalıklı sınıfının savunduklarını eleştirir ve bunların ne kadar sığ ve ahlaki yönden ikiyüzlü olduğunu vurgular. 2012 yılında yazdığı, son oyunu Mutluluk Cumhuriyetinde (In the Republic of Happiness), günümüz insanının mutlu olma arzusunu ve bu arayışın absürdlüğünü veya imkansızlığını mekân, zaman, dil ve beden estetiği konularını yenilikçi biçimlerde ele alarak anlatır., New forms of artistic representations have been mastered with the development of new technologies. Various innovative methods of staging have flourished with the deconstruction of traditional forms. Contemporary British playwright Martin Crimp employs creative and experimental ways of using stage language and theatre techniques in order to explore theatre’s connection with such application fields as culture, politics and philosophy. Crimp deconstructs traditional/naturalist/realist playwriting rules by investigating new forms of representing character, plot, time and place on stage. With his playtexts he controls the audiences’ minds and provides them with the opportunity to explore new possibilities in their lives. His plays have a challenging and a complicated structure due to his way of combining the experimental, modern and postmodern traditions. Crimp defines himself as a satirist, and believes that satire is a driving force in him as a writer. He depicts many of the middle-class preoccupations, and habits of speech and mind, criticizes their attitudes to life and emphasizes the shallowness and moral hypocrisy of defences of bourgeois privilege. His recent play In the Republic of Happiness is evidently about the human desire for happiness, and the impossibility or absurdity of this quest. This paper discovers Crimp’s use of space, time, language and body aesthetics in innovative ways in his 2012 play, In the Republic of Happiness.

The present study aims to examine the influence of early science experiences in kindergarten on children's growth in science performance in elementary grades. The data for this study came from the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study Kindergarten cohort (ECLS-K). A model illustrating the relationships between the early learning experiences and later academic performance in science was developed using the opportunity-propensity framework and the model was tested using the latent growth curve modeling technique. Results indicated that the antecedent (gender and socio economic status) and propensity (aptitude and motivation) variables predicted children's science performance. However, the science learning opportunities in kindergarten did not predict children's growth in science performance from third grade to eighth grade., Bu çalışmanın amacı, anaokulunda verilen erken bilim eğitimi deneyimlerinin, çocukların ilköğretim yıllarında fen bilgisi alanında gösterdiği performansın gelişmesi üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Bu çalışmada Erken Çocukluk Boylamsal Araştırması – Anaokulu (ECLS-K) verileri kullanılmıştır. Fırsat-Eğilim Modellemesi kullanılarak araştırma değişkenleri arasındaki ilişkiler kuramsal olarak modellenmiş ve bu model Gizil Büyüme Eğrisi Analizi ile test edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, öncül değişkenlerin (cinsiyet ve SED) ve eğilim (yetenek ve motivasyon) değişkenlerinin çocukların fen bilgisi performanslarının anlamlı yordayıcıları olduğunu göstermiştir. Bununla beraber, anaokulunda sağlanan bilim öğrenme fırsatlarının, çocukların üç ile sekizinci sınıflar arasında fen bilgisi dersinde gösterdikleri performanstaki gelişmenin anlamlı yordayıcıları olmadığı bulunmuştur.

Araştırmada deneysel araştırma desenlerinden tekrarlı ölçümler deseni ile nitel veri toplama yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesini içeren karma araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. 2010–2011 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde 40 ortaöğretim matematik öğretmen adayı ile literatürde yer alan öğrencilerin matematiksel düşünmelerine odaklanmayı temel alan öğretim uygulamalarının karması olma özelliğini taşıyan bir öğretim uygulaması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğretim uygulaması öncesinde ve sonrasında öğretmen adaylarına üst düzey düşünme süreçlerini içeren bir problem verilerek planlar yapmaları istenmiştir. Bu planlar Ders Planlama Öğeleri Rubriği ile incelenerek analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonrasında öğretmen adaylarının planlarının incelenen öğelere göre öğretim öncesi ve sonrasında farklılaştığı görülmüştür, In this study, it is aimed to investigate the lesson plans of preservice teachers, participated in an instructional programme which focused on students’ mathematical thinking. In the research, mixed methods research including repeated measures design and content analysis was used. In 2010–2011 Spring semester an instructional programme, which is a mixed model of the instructional practices that focused on students’ mathematical thinking in the literature, was implemented with 40 preservice secondary mathematics teachers. Before and after the instructional programme, a problem including higher-level demands was given to preservice teachers and asked for making lesson plans. The plans were analyzed using the Scoring Rubric for Attention to Students’ Thinking. The analysis showed that there are differences in the plans of preservice teachers with respect to the components of scoring rubric before and after the instructional programme.

An examination of documents in the scope of qualitative research was carried out in the study. The goals included in the examined chemistry curricula were analyzed according to the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains. Subject matters were analyzed by example, concept or theory/model and in terms of the statuses of object, event, property, or semiotic representation. As a result, it was determined that chemistry education in Turkey had passed through six different periods in the fifty year process. It was determined that in setting down curriculum goals, a preference had been attached to the cognitive domain rather than to the psychomotor and affective domains. The number of elements of chemistry knowledge differed in the various periods. Some chemistry curricula were based on teaching chemistry with examples while some were based on teaching chemistry with concepts.

Pekdağ, Bülent (Balikesir Author), 1957-2007 yılları arasında yayımlanan 15 kimya dersi öğretim programı gerekçe, amaç ve içerik yönünden incelenmiştir. Nitel araştırma yönteminin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada doküman incelemesi yapılmıştır. İncelenen kimya programlarında yer alan amaç ifadeleri bilişsel, devinişsel ve duyuşsal alanlara göre, programların içeriklerinde yer alan kimya bilgileri ise örnek, kavram ve teori/model kategorilerine ve nesne, olay, özellik ve semiyotik gösterim statülerine göre analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, kimya dersi öğretim programlarının yayımlanma gerekçeleri olarak; (i) tüm okullarda uygulanmak üzere programın yayınlandığı, (ii) pilot okullarda uygulanmak üzere programın yayınlandığı ve (iii) farklı tip okullarda uygulanan programları tek bir çatı altında toplamak amacıyla tüm okullarda uygulanmak üzere programın yayınlandığı belirlenmiştir. 50 yıllık süreçte kimya eğitiminin altı farklı dönemden geçtiği, programlarda yer alan amaç ifadeleri yazılırken genellikle bilişsel alanın devinişsel ve duyuşsal alanlara göre üstün tutulduğu, programların içeriklerinde yer alan kimya bilgilerinin sayılarının dönemlere göre farklılık gösterdiği, bazı kimya programlarının örneklerle kimyanın öğretimini amaçladığı ve bazı kimya programlarının ise kavramlarla kimyayı öğretme yoluna gittiği tespit edilmiştir., Fifteen secondary education chemistry curricula published from 1957 until 2007 were examined based on the dimensions of rationale, goals, and subject matter. Aytül Akal’ın çocuklar için yazdığı öykülerinde çocukların yaşamsal, gelişimsel, korunma ve katılım haklarına ne düzeyde yer verildiğini belirlemek amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmada, bir nitel araştırma yöntemi olan doküman incelemesi kullanılmıştır. Aytül Akal’ın çocuklar için yazmış olduğu kitapların araştırma evrenini oluşturduğu çalışmada, 8-12 yaş aralığındaki çocuklara yönelik sekiz öykü kitabı örneklem olarak seçilmiştir. Buna göre araştırmanın veri toplama kaynağını; Babamın Sihirli Küresi(K1), Babam Duymasın(K2), Benim Babam Sihirbaz(K3), Annem Neden Çıldırdı?(K4), Kızım Nerdesin?(K5), Oğlum Nerdesin?(K6), Kızım, Ben Çocukken...(K7), Oğlum, Ben Çocukken...(K8) adlı öykü kitapları oluşturmaktadır. Öykü kitaplarından elde edilen veriler içerik analizi tekniğiyle çözümlenmiştir. İncelenen tüm kitaplarda çocukların katılım hakları ile ilgili anlatımlara (%49.57) en fazla yer verildiği görülmektedir. Bunu, gelişimsel haklar ile ilgili anlatımlar (%25.68) ve yaşamsal haklar ile ilgili anlatımlar (%18.01) izlemektedir. Aytül Akal’ın incelenen öykü kitaplarında en az çocukların korunma hakları ile ilgili anlatımlara (%6.74) yer verildiği görülmüştür., In this study, aimed at determining at what level children’s vital, provisional, protection and participation rights took place in short stories for children written by Aytül Akal, document analysis as a qualitative research method, was used. In the study where the population is constituted of Aytül Akal’s short stories for children, eight story books aimed at 8-12 year old children were selected to form the sample. Hence, the books titled Daddy’s Magic Globe (K1), Don’t Let the Daddy Know (K2), My Daddy Is a Wizard (K3), Why Did My Mom Get Crazy (K4), Daughter, Where Are You? (K5), Son, Where Are You? (K6), Daughter, When I Was a Child...(K7), and Son, When I Was a Child...(K8) constitute the source for data collection. The data gathered from the story books were analyzed by the content analysis technique. In the books analyzed, expressions about children’s participation rights took place the most, (49.57%). This was followed by expressions related to provisional (25.68%) and vital rights (18.01%).The analysis of Aytül Akal’s short story books reveal that expressions about children’s protection rights are at least (6.74%).

Benlikaya, Ruhan (Balikesir Author), The effect of different chemical oxidation of multiwalled carbon nanotubes with H2O2, HNO3, and KMnO4 on the change of electrical resistance of polyurethane composites with embedded oxidized nanotube networks subjected to elongation and bending has been studied. The testing has shown sixteen-fold increase in the electrical resistance for the composite prepared from KMnO4 oxidized nanotubes in comparison to the composites prepared from the pristine and other oxidized nanotubes. The evaluated sensitivity of KMnO4 treated composite in terms of the gauge factor increases with strain to nearly 175 at the strain 11%. This is a substantial increase, which ranks the composite prepared from KMnO4 oxidized nanotubes among materials as strain gauges with the highest electromechanical sensitivity. The observed differences in electromechanical properties of the composites are discussed on basis of their structure which is examined by the measurements of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscope. Pekdağ, Bülent (Balikesir Author), Üniversite öğrencilerinin edindikleri kimya bilgilerini günlük yaşamla ilişkilendirme düzeyinin ne olduğunu ve bu düzeye akademik başarının etkisinin olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla bu çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Balıkesir Üniversitesi Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesinde öğrenim gören 2010-2011 öğretim yılında Genel Kimya dersi almış biyoloji, fizik, kimya ve fen bilgisi öğretmenliği programlarında okuyan 143 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak, pilot çalışma ile geçerliliği-güvenirliği sağlanmış 60 sorudan oluşan çoktan seçmeli bir test örneklem grubuna uygulanmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen verilerin istatistiksel çözümlemelerinde SPSS 19.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Çözümlemeler için hem betimsel hem de çıkarımsal istatistiksel çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında, üniversite öğrencilerinin kimya bilgileri ile günlük yaşamı ilişkilendirme düzeyinin orta seviyede olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca, akademik başarının kimya bilgilerini günlük yaşamla ilişkilendirme düzeyine istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir etkisinin olmadığı tespit edilmiştir., This study aims to determine the university students #8217; level of associating chemical knowledge with everyday situations and to investigate whether the academic achievement has effect on that level. Research sample consisted of 143 students, who have taken general chemistry course during 2010-2011 academic year, from chemistry, biology, physics and elementary science teacher education programs at Balıkesir University Necatibey Faculty of Education. As a data collecting tool a test including 60 multiple-choice questions, with pre-determined reliability, has been applied to the sample. The obtained data were analyzed with SPSS 19.0. Both descriptive and inferential statistical analyses have been conducted. In the light of the findings, it was concluded that the university students #8217; level of associating chemistry information with everyday situations is medium. Also, it was determined that the academic achievement has not a statistically significant effect on the level of associating chemical knowledge with everyday situations.

The purpose of this study was to examine parents' and early childhood teachers' perceptions of the priorities for developmental areas targeted in the Turkish Early Childhood Education Curriculum for children aged 36-72 months. The sample of this study consisted of 1600 parents and 158 early childhood teachers. The study utilized a survey research design. Data were collected using an instrument designed for the study. Results indicated that parents' priority perceptions for the developmental areas targeted in the curriculum differ based on their socioeconomic status and the age and gender of their children. The findings demonstrated no significant difference in teachers' priority perceptions. The results indicated congruence between parents' and teachers' priority perceptions with teachers only perceiving psychomotor development as more important than parents.

Ege, Yavuz ( Balikesir Author ), All the sensors such as temperature, humidity, and pressure used in industry provide analog outputs as inputs for their control units. Wireless transmission of the data has advantages on wired transmission such as USB port, parallel port and serial port and therefore has great importance for industrial applications. In this work, a new wireless asynchronous data communications module has been developed to send the earth magnetic field data around a ferromagnetic material detected by a KMZ51 AMR sensor. The transmitter module transmits the analog data obtained from a source to a computer environment where they are stored and then presented in a graphical form. In this design, an amplitude shift keying (ASK) transceiver working at the frequency of 433.92 MHz which is a frequency inside the so called Industrial Scientific Medical band (ISM band) used for wireless communications. The analog data first fed into a 10-bit ADC controlled by a PIC microcontroller and then the digital data is sent to the transmitter. A preamble bit string is added in front of the data bits and another bit string for achieving synchronization and determination the start of the data is used. The data arriving at the receiver is taken by the microcontroller and sent to a LCD display as well as the serial port of a computer where it is written in a text file. A Visual Basic based graphics interface is designed to receive, store and present the data in the form of graphical shapes. In the paper, all the work has been explained in detail.

Aydın, Serap Öz (Balikesir Author), Çevre sorunlarının oluşumu ve çözümü ekonomi, siyaset ve eğitimdeki anlayış ve tutumlara bağlıdır. Bu çalışma, farklı alanlardaki ilköğretim öğretmen adaylarının çevreye yönelik tutumlarının davranış ve düşünce boyutlarını tespit etmeye ve karşılaştırmaya yönelik olarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi Balıkesir Üniversitesi Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi İlköğretim Bölümü Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği, Sınıf Öğretmenliği ve Okul Öncesi Öğretmenliği Ana Bilim Dallarının 1. ve 5. döneminde okuyan 161 öğretmen adayından oluşmaktadır. Öğretmen adaylarına çevresel tutum ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının ankete verdikleri cevaplar SPSS-16 programı ile analiz edilmiş ve alanlar arasındaki farkların nedenini açıklayabilmek için her ana bilim dalındaki dersler ve içerikleri incelenmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının çevreye yönelik tutumlarının genel ortalamasına bakıldığında fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının sınıf öğretmenliği ve okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarına göre daha iyi düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanında öğretmen adaylarının 1. ve 3. sınıf düzeyinde karşılaştırılmalarında okul öncesi ve sınıf öğretmenliği öğretmen adaylarının 1. sınıf çevresel tutum puanlarının ortalamalarının 3. sınıf çevresel tutum puanlarının ortalamalarına göre daha iyi düzeyde olması ilgi çekicidir. Bu durum lisans eğitiminde çevre eğitimine verilmesi gereken önemi ön planda tutmamızın gerekliliğini göstermektedir., Formation and solution of environmental problems, which have economy, politics and education depends on the mentality and attitudes. This study is carried out to determine and determine the behavior and attitude dimensions of teacher candidates from different branches toward environment. The sample of the study consisted of elementary science, primary classroom and preschool education students attending the first and fifth terms of the program . Environmental Attitudes Survey (EAS) was administered to the teacher candidates. The responses of the teacher candidates were analyzed using SPSS 16 software and the education programs content of each department were analyzed to reason differences among the departments. It was revealed that science teacher candidates #8217; means of environmental attitudes are the highest of all. However, when comparing the first and fifth term students #8217; mean scores, it is interesting that first term preschool teacher candidates and first term primary classroom teacher candidates' EAS mean scores are higher than those of fifth term students. These results point out that it is required to consider important environmental education in higher education.

This paper describes a sensitive and accurate adsorptive catalytic stripping voltammetric method for the determination of zineb (zinc ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate) in tap water and tomato samples. The method is based on the reduction of adsorbed zineb at a hanging mercury drop electrode following its catalytic oxidation using peroxydisulfate as an oxidizing reagent. Chemical and instrumental parameters of the process were optimized. The catalytic mechanism of the reduction of zineb is discussed as well. The limits of detection (3 s) and quanti fi cation (10 s) and linear range of the method for accumulation time of 60 s were calculated as 8.1 nM, 28 nM, and 0.028-7.00 mu M, respectively. The relative standard deviation of the method was 3.68% for 2.5 mu M zineb (N = 5). The proposed method was applied successfully for the determination of zineb in tap water and tomato samples., Balikesir University - 2007/4

Uğulu, İlker (Balikesir Author), In recent years, Mediterranean diet has been promoted as a model for healthy eating. One of the main characteristics of the Mediterranean diet is an abundance of plant food as fruits, vegetables, whole-grain cereals, nuts, and legumes. This paper compiles and evaluates the ethnobotanical knowledge currently available on wild edible plants sold in the local markets and traditionally used for human consumption in Izmir, a province on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. The information about the use of wild edible plants was collected from 18 different open-air-markets in the city during two-year period, through unstructured interviews. In this study, a total of 46 wild edible plant taxa were established and also plant parts used, ethnographic data related to vernacular names, traditional tools and recipes were recorded. Family Asteraceae is represented by the highest number of taxa (7), followed by Apiaceae (6), Polygonaceae, Liliaceae and Lamiaceae (4), Amaranthaceae and Brassicaceae (2). The study showed that the plants used are either eaten raw, cooked by boiling in water, frying in oil or baked to be served as dishes such as stew, salad as hot drink. During this ethnobotanical research, it was verified that wild edible plants play an important role in diet in Izmir. However, it was observed that the transfer of folk uses of these plants decreased in the last generations. In this context, the ethnobotanical research about wild edible plants should be extended to other areas of Turkey in order not only to preserve the traditional knowledge related to plants, but also to make it available for future generations as well.

Akyüz, Gözde (Balikesir Author), Araştırmanın amacı; Hong Kong-Çin ve Türkiye’deki öğrencilerin okul hakkındaki düşünceleri, okula aidiyet duygusu, matematik öğretmeni hakkında düşünceleri, matematik başarısı ile ilgili rekabetçi duyguları, grup çalışması hakkındaki düşünceleri, öğretmenin ilgisi ve sınıf disiplini ile matematik okuryazarlığı arasındaki ilişkiyi Uluslar Arası Öğrenci Değerlendirme Programı (PISA 2003) projesinden elde edilen verileri kullanarak LISREL 8.54 ile yapısal eşitlik modelini kurup incelemektir. Çalışmanın sonucunda iki ülkede matematik okuryazarlığını etkileyen faktörler arasında benzerlik ve farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Hong Kong-Çin’de öğrencinin matematik dersindeki başarısı ile ilgili rekabetçi düşünceleri matematik okuryazarlığında en güçlü etkisi olan örtük değişken iken Türkiye modelinde matematik okuryazarlığına en güçlü etkiyi okula ait olma örtük değişkeni göstermiştir., The goal of the study is to investigate the relationship between students’ opinions about school, feelings about belonging to school, opinions about their mathematics teacher, competitive feelings in mathematics, opinions about group work, teachers’ concern in class, class discipline and mathematics literacy using Programme for International Student Assessment 2003 data with structural equation modeling for Turkey and Hong Kong-China. In the study, similarities and differences were found in the two countries. While students’ competitive feelings about mathematics was found to be the strongest latent variable on mathematics literacy in Hong Kong-China model, feelings about belonging to school was the strongest in Turkish model.

Background: Most higher education institutions are now proposing to introduce courses about reading and carrying out research studies as part of their program of instruction at undergraduate and graduate levels. Affective characteristics play an important role in learning and achievement. They influence the amount of effort that one is willing to expend on learning a subject, which also influences the selection of more advanced courses in similar areas (e.g., research and statistics courses) beyond the minimum requirements. Therefore, assessing students' affective characteristics toward research methods courses is important in enabling instructors to develop instructional techniques that lead to more positive attitudes toward the subject. Aims: To investigate the effect of a Research Methods Education Program which focused on planning and carrying out educational research - on pre-service teachers' attitudes and anxiety toward educational research, and to determine their views about the program. Sample: 40 secondary mathematics education majors from a university in western Turkey enrolled in Research Methods Education Program. Method: Research Methods Education Program was implemented in three semesters. Two scales, namely "Attitudes toward scientific research" and "Research anxiety" scales were used as pre-, mid- and post-tests in the study. At the end of the program, pre-service teachers were requested to record their views about the program. Results: The study showed that pre-service teachers' attitudes toward undertaking educational research changed in a positive direction. Their anxiety level did not change after the theoretical courses related to educational research methods and statistics, but reduced after they carried out an educational research project by themselves. Conclusion: The Research Methods Education Program indicated that pre-service teachers may have an active role in improving their teaching and in changing their affective characteristics in a positive manner.

Bu araştırmanın amacı anne-babaların ve okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin 36-72 aylık çocuklar için geliştirilmiş olan okul öncesi eğitim programında hedeflenen gelişimsel alanların öncelikleri hakkındaki görüşlerini ve görüşleri arasındaki tutarlılığı incelemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 1600 anne-baba ve 158 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada kesitsel tarama modeli kullanılmış ve veriler araştırma için geliştirilen veri toplama aracı kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Sonuçlara göre anne ve babaların okul öncesi eğitim programında tanımlanan gelişim alanlarının önceliklerine ilişkin algıları sosyo-ekonomik düzeylerine, çocuklarının cinsiyetine ve yaşına bağlı olarak değişkenlik göstermektedir. Bulgular öğretmenler arasında gelişim alanlarının önceliğini değerlendirme açısından bir fark olmadığını ortaya koymuştur. Araştırma sonuçları gelişim alanlarının önceliklerine ilişkin anne-babaların ve öğretmenlerin algıları arasında büyük oranda tutarlılık olduğunu ve öğretmenlerin yalnızca psikomotor alandaki gelişimi anne-babalara göre daha öncelikli olarak değerlendirdiğini göstermektedir., The purpose of this study was to examine parents’ and early childhood teachers’ perceptions of the priorities for developmental areas targeted in the Turkish Early Childhood Education Curriculum for children aged 36-72 months. The sample of this study consisted of 1600 parents and 158 early childhood teachers. The study utilized a survey research design. Data were collected using an instrument designed for the study. Results indicated that parents’ priority perceptions for the developmental areas targeted in the curriculum differ based on their socioeconomic status and the age and gender of their children. The findings demonstrated no significant difference in teachers’ priority perceptions. The results indicated congruence between parents’ and teachers’ priority perceptions with teachers only perceiving psychomotor development as more important than parents.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, biyoloji, fizik ve kimya öğretmen adaylarının bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemektir. Çalışma, 2009-2010 eğitim-öğretim yılı güz döneminde Balıkesir Üniversitesi Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi Biyoloji, Fizik ve Kimya Eğitimi’nde öğrenim gören 314 öğretmen adayı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler, Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojileri Tutum Ölçeği (Karaoğlan, Cavaş, Kışla, & Cavaş, 2007) ile toplanmıştır. Veri analizi, SPSS 12.0 paket programında betimsel istatistik analizi, 3-faktörlü ANOVA testleri, PostHoc testleri, tek-yönlü ANOVA, bağımsız örneklemler için t-testi kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonuçlarına göre, tüm öğretmen adaylarının BİT’e yönelik tutumlarının orta seviyede olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu çalışma 2010-2012 yılları arasında Ulus Dağı’nın (Balıkesir/Türkiye) florasını tespit etmek için yapılmıştır. Çalışma alanı P.H. Davis’in grid sistemine göre B2 karesinde yer alır. Örneklerin teşhis edilmesi sonucu, 63 familyaya ait 245 cins ve bu cinse ait 382 takson (264 tür, 77 alttür ve 41 varyete) tespit edilmiştir. Bu taksonlardan 59’ı B2 karesi için yeni kayıttır ve 31’i ise endemiktir. Taksonların fitocoğrafik bölgelere dağılımı şöyledir; Akdeniz elementleri %16,7, Avrupa-Sibirya elementleri %13,5 ve Iran-Turan elementleri %3,1., This study was carried out to determine flora of Ulus Mountain (Balikesir/Turkey) between the periods 2010- 2012. According to the P.H. Davis #8217;s grid system, the area is in the B2 square. As a result of identification of plant specimens, 382 plant taxa (264 species, 77 subspecies and 41 varieties) belonging to 63 families and 245 genera were established. 59 taxa are new records for B2 grid square and the endemism rate is 8,11%. The distribution of this taxa according to phytogeographical regions are follows; Mediterranean elements 16,7%, Europe-Siberian elements 13,5%, Irano-Turanien elements 3,1%.

Sarıtaş, Mustafa Tuncay (Balikesir Author), Bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerindeki hızlı gelişmelere paralel olarak günümüzde artık bilgiye ulaşılması sadece kendi başına önemli bir unsur teşkil etmemekte bunun yanında bilginin işlenmesi, üretilmesi ve özellikle Internet vasıtasıyla bilginin pazarlanması süreçleri hayatımıza girmektedir. 90’lı yıllardan sonra dünya ülkeleri, gelişen teknolojilere bağlı olarak bilginin elde edilmesinden pazarlanmasına kadar olan paradigmaları ve yeni oluşumları gerçekleştirmek için kendi iç devlet mekanizmalarında “e-dönüşüm” yapılandırmalarını başlatmışlardır. Türkiye’de de E-Dönüşüm projelerinden “e-Okul projesi”, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı bünyesinde 2007 yılında başlatılmış olan bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama okul yönetim süreçlerini ve işlemlerini içeren bir bilgi sistemi yazılımıdır. Bu sistemde bilgi girişi yapan öğretmenlerin ve yöneticilerin ihtiyaç ve taleplerinin tespit edilmesi, sistemin belirli aralıklarla değerlendirme yapılarak güncellenmesi, sistemin etkin kullanımı açısından önemlidir. The aim of this study is to evaluate the e-School system and put forward the potential improvements and changes on the design of this system by examining perspectives and perceptions of teachers and administrators. Ad, Vahide Nilay Kırtak (Balikesir Author), Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversitede okuyan fizik ve fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının, “kütle merkezi” ve “ağırlık merkezi” ile ilgili sahip oldukları kavram yanılgılarını tespit etmektir. Betimsel nitelikli tarama modelinin kullanıldığı bu araştırmada çalışma grubunu 2008-2009 eğitim-öğretim yılında Balıkesir Üniversitesi Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi’nde okuyan 335 fizik ve fen bilgisi öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan kavramsal anlama testi ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre öğretmen adaylarının çok sayıda kavram yanılgısına sahip oldukları görülmüştür. “Ağırlık merkezi, kütle merkezi ile aynı şeydir; Ağırlık merkezi cismin orta noktasıdır; Ağırlık ve kütle farklıdır. O yüzden ağırlık merkeziyle kütle merkezi de farklıdır; Kütle merkezi değişmez, ağırlık merkezi değişir.” gibi çeşitli kavram yanılgıları ile karşılaşılmıştır. Bu kavram yanılgılarının çoğunun sebebinin “kütle ve ağırlık” kavramlarının tam olarak bilinmemesinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda ortaya çıkarılan kavram yanılgılarını temele alan bir öğretim modelinin geliştirilmesi ve bu modelin etkisinin belirlenmesi üzerine bir çalışma yapılması önerilmektedir.

Çevik, Beste (Balikesir Author), The main purpose of the current study was to examine the utility and usefulness of Holland's Theory of Personalities in Work Environments to understand the match between personality and the desire for music education. The participants included 99 pre-service music teachers in Turkey. The findings revealed that the pre-service music teachers were, foremost, artistic. To a lesser degree, they were social and conventional. In addition, significant relationships existed between personality types and satisfaction with studying in the department of music education. Based on these findings, it seems that Holland's Theory provides a useful framework for understanding music pre-service teachers' satisfaction with studying music education. Future researchers may use this theory with practicing music teachers to examine its explanatory and predictive power in the workplace.

Fen bilimlerinde laboratuvar yaklaşımının ve bilimsel süreç becerilerinin öneminin arttığı günümüzde, bilimsel süreç becerilerinin kazandırılması açısından öğretmenlerin bilimsel süreç becerilerine sahip olması gerektiği, bunun da öğretmen adaylarına kazandırılarak sağlanabileceği düşünülmektedir. Son yıllarda kavram öğretiminde kullanımıyla etkili sonuçlar veren akran öğretimi de bu çalışmanın başka bir boyutunu oluşturmuştur. Bunlara dayalı olarak çalışmanın amacı, akran öğretimi destekli bilimsel süreç becerileri laboratuvar yaklaşımının, öğretmen adaylarının bazı üst düzey bilimsel süreç becerilerini geliştirmekte etkili bir yöntem olup olmadığını belirlemektir. Araştırmada tek gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Balıkesir Üniversitesi, fen bilgisi öğretmenliği 3. sınıf öğrencileri ile 6 hafta boyunca devam eden akran öğretimi destekli bilimsel süreç becerileri laboratuvar yaklaşımı uygulamasında açık uçlu deney yaprakları, öğrenci rubrikleri, deney değerlendirme anketi ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme kayıtları ile veriler elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda uygulamanın öğretmen adaylarının değişkenleri belirleme, değişkenleri değiştirme ve kontrol etme ve sonuç çıkarma becerilerinde gelişme olduğu, hipotez kurma ve deney yapma becerilerinde ise gelişme olmadığı görülmüştür. Bu sonuca göre akran öğretimi destekli bilimsel süreç becerileri laboratuvar yaklaşımının bilimsel süreç becerilerinin kazandırılmasında uygulanması önerilmiştir., Nowadays increasing importance of science process skills and laboratory approach in science education requires the acquisition of scientific process skills that teachers should have been gained those skills during pre-service training courses to transfer their students. Peer instruction, which results in effective outcomes for concept teaching recently, comprises another aspect of this study. The aim of this study is to determine whether scientific process skills laboratory approach, which is supported with peer instruction, is an effective method to improve some high level scientific process skills of pre-service teachers. Single group experimental research design was used in this study. Data were collected by using open ended experiment worksheets, student rubrics, experiment evaluation questionnaire and semi-structured interviews during peer instruction supported scientific process skills laboratory approach in which third year primary science education students at Balikesir University took part in six weeks long application. Findings of the study show that pre-service teachers #8217; skills of determining variables, changing and controlling variables and making inferences improved while constructing hypotheses and setting up experiment skills were not improved. It is suggested that peer instruction supported scientific process skills laboratory approach should be used to acquire scientific process skills.

Uğulu, İlker ( Balikesir Author ), This study was carried out in order to determine which plants and the ways in which these plants are used for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders among the people of some districts of Izmir province, located in the Western Anatolian part of Turkey. Field study was carried out over a period of approximately three years (2009-2011). During the field trips, the information was collected through interviews, including various data obtained from local healers and traditional medicine men, herbalists, shepherds, patients and elderly persons. In addition, informant consensus factor (F-ic) values were calculated for the medicinal plants included in the study. A total of 33 plants belonging to 25 families were documented for their therapeutic use against gastrointestinal disorders. Further analysis on the families of medicinal plants that are used against gastrointestinal disorders has shown that family Lamiaceae is represented by the highest number of species. Also, it was determined that gastrointestinal system ailments for-which the folk medicinal plants are mostly used, are as follows: constipation, diarrhea, gastritis and ulcer, intestinal winds, nausea, gastralgia and indigestion. Informant consensus of medicinal plant usage within Izmir resulted in F-ic values between 0.56 and 0.84 per gastrointestinal disorder category. This study showed that plants are actively used for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders in the area of Izmir.

Bu çalışma, Merkez ve Güney Ege Adaları’na ve Güneybatı Anadolu’ya endemik olan, Chamaedrys (Mill.) Schreb. seksiyonu üyesi çok yıllık çalımsı Teucrium microphyllum Desf. türünün morfolojik, anatomik, karyolojik ve ekolojik özelliklerine dair araştırmaları sunmaktadır. T. microphyllum’un betimi genişletilmiştir. Morfolojik özellikler, gövde, yaprak, kaliks ve korollanın tüy örtüsü stereo-mikroskop ve taramalı elektron mikroskobu kullanılarak belirlenmiştir. Gövde ve yaprak enine kesitleri jilet kullanılarak elle alınmıştır. Gövde dört köşeli ve köşelerde 4-5 tabaka kollenkima içermektedir. Yaprak bifasiyal tiptedir. 2(-3) sıra palizat parankiması vardır ve sünger parankiması da 2-4 sıralıdır. Kromozom sayısı ezme preparat yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenmiştir ve somatik kromozom sayısı 2n = 30 olarak bulunmuştur. Türün temel kromozom sayısı ise x = 15’tir. Türün karyotip formülü ise 15 medyan kromozom çiftinden meydana gelmektedir. Toprak örnekleri lokalitelerden 0-20 cm arasındaki derinliklerden alınmıştır. Toprak bünyesi, toplam tuz, inorganik maddeler (P, K, Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn) ve organik madde yüzdesi belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, T. microphyllum türünün iştirakçi türleri ekolojik gözlemler için belirlenmiştir. T. microphyllum morfolojik, anatomik, karyolojik ve ekolojik açıdan ilk kez çalışılmıştır., This study presents investigations on the morphological, anatomical, karyological and ecological features a perennial shrubby species Teucrium microphyllum Desf., belonging to Sect. Chamaedrys (Mill.) Schreb., endemic to Central and South Aegean Islands and Southwest Anatolia. Description of T. microphyllum was expanded. The morphological features indumentum of stem, leaf, calyx and corolla were determined using stereo-microscope and scanning electron microscope. Cross-sections of stem and leaf was taken using razor by manually. Stem is rectangular and has 4-5-layered collenchyma in the corners. Leaf is bifacial. There are 2(-3)-layered palisade parenchyma and spongy parenchyma has 2-4 layers. Chromosome number was determined with using squash preparation method and the somatic chromosome number was found as 2n = 30. The basic chromosome number of the species was x = 15. The karyotype formula of this species consists of fifteen median chromosome pairs. The soil samples were collected from the localities at a depth of between 0 #8211;20 cm. The texture, total salt, inorganic matters (P, K, Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn) and the percentage of organic matter were determined. Besides, the associated species of T. microphyllum were determined for the ecological observation. T. microphyllum was studied morphologically, anatomically, karyologically and ecologically for the first time.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Schmidt ve arkadaşları (2009) tarafından geliştirilen “Teknolojik Pedagojik Alan Bilgisi” (TPAB) ölçeğinin Türkçeye uyarlanarak sadece matematik dersi için geçerlik ve güvenirliğini test etmek ve ölçeğin boyutları arasındaki ilişkiyi yapısal eşitlik modellemesi ile incelemektir. Dilsel eşdeğerlik sınaması sonrasında elde edilen ölçek 473 ilköğretim matematik öğretmenliği lisans öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Yapı geçerliğini ve faktör yapısını incelemek amacıyla açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Ayrıca ölçeğin boyutları arasındaki ilişkileri incelemek amacı ile yapısal eşitlik modeli oluşturulmuştur. Güvenirlik üst ve alt %27’lik gruplar arasındaki farkın anlamlılığı Cronbach Alfa katsayısı ile incelenmiştir. Bulgular, ölçeğin dört faktörlü bir yapıda olup uyum indekslerinin kabul sınırında bulunduğunu, Cronbach Alfa güvenirliğinin 0.91, tüm alt boyutlarının güvenirlik değerlerinin 0.70’ den büyük olduğunu, üst ve alt % 27’lik grupların madde ortalamaları arasındaki tüm farkların anlamlı olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Bu sonuçlar TPAB ölçeğinin Türkçe formunun geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu göstermektedir., The aim of this study is to test the validity and reliability of the #8220;Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge #8221; (TPACK) scale, developed by Schmidt et al., (2009) by adapting it to Turkish and equation modeling to examine the relationship between the scale dimensions by structural. The scale obtained after the linguistic equivalence test was applied to 473 undergraduate students at the department of teaching mathematics in primary education. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted in order to review the validity of scale. In addition, in order to investigate the relationship between the scale dimensions of the structural equation model was constructed. The reliability was reviewed through the significance of the difference between the upper and lower 27%- groups and the Cronbach #8217;s alpha coefficient. The findings revealed that the scale had a four-factor structure and the fit indexes were within the acceptance boundary. The Cronbach #8217;s alpha reliability was greater than 0.91 and the reliability values of its all sub- dimensions were greater than 0.70. All differences of the upper and lower 27%- groups between the item averages were significant. These results indicate that the Turkish version of TPACK scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool.

Bu çalışmada, kimya öğretmenleri ve öğretmen adaylarının argümantasyona dayalı ders hazırlığı ve dersi gerçekleştirme aşamasında zorluklar yaşayıp yaşamadıkları ve bunların nedenleri incelenmiştir. Dört kimya öğretmeni ve dört öğretmen adayının katıldığı çalışmanın başlangıcında, katılımcılara argümantasyonun fen sınıflarında nasıl uygulandığını öğretmeye yönelik, 9 haftalık bir workshop programı ile eğitim verilmiştir. Workshop programının ardından argümantasyona dayalı kimya derslerini gerçekleştiren katılımcılarla derslerine yönelik yarı yapılandırılmış ikili görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu görüşmelerin analizi sonucunda, kimya öğretmenlerinin derse uygun çalışma kağıdı hazırlama, ders planını uygulama, zamanı yetiştirme, tartışmaları yönetme ve argüman toparlamada; öğretmen adaylarının ise tartışmaya yönelik problem üretme, tartışmaları yönetme ve argümanları toparlama gibi aşamalarda zorlandıkları belirlenmiştir. Katılımcılar, bu tarz derslerin öğrencilerin bilimsel bilgiyi sorgulama ve bilimsel tartışmayı öğrenerek kendilerine güvenmelerini sağlaması nedeniyle faydalı olduğunu; ancak ortaöğretim programını yetiştirme, öğrencilerin bilgi yetersizlikleri, sınıfların kalabalık olması ve zaman sıkıntısı gibi olumsuzluklar nedeniyle bu tür bir yöntemin derslerde kullanımının zor olduğunu vurgulamışlardır.

The aim of this study is to test the validity and reliability of the "Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge" (TPACK) scale, developed by Schmidt et al., (2009) by adapting it to Turkish and equation modeling to examine the relationship between the scale dimensions by structural. The scale obtained after the linguistic equivalence test was applied to 473 undergraduate students at the department of teaching mathematics in primary education. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted in order to review the validity of scale. In addition, in order to investigate the relationship between the scale dimensions of the structural equation model was constructed. The reliability was reviewed through the significance of the difference between the upper and lower 27%- groups and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The findings revealed that the scale had a four-factor structure and the fit indexes were within the acceptance boundary. The Cronbach's alpha reliability was greater than 0.91 and the reliability values of its all sub-dimensions were greater than 0.70. All differences of the upper and lower 27%- groups between the item averages were significant. These results indicate that the Turkish version of TPACK scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool., Bu çalışmanın amacı, Schmidt ve arkadaşları (2009) tarafından geliştirilen “Teknolojik Pedagojik Alan Bilgisi” (TPAB) ölçeğinin Türkçeye uyarlanarak sadece matematik dersi için geçerlik ve güvenirliğini test etmek ve ölçeğin boyutları arasındaki ilişkiyi yapısal eşitlik modellemesi ile incelemektir. Dilsel eşdeğerlik sınaması sonrasında elde edilen ölçek 473 ilköğretim matematik öğretmenliği lisans öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Yapı geçerliğini ve faktör yapısını incelemek amacıyla açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Ayrıca ölçeğin boyutları arasındaki ilişkileri incelemek amacı ile yapısal eşitlik modeli oluşturulmuştur. Güvenirlik üst ve alt %27’lik gruplar arasındaki farkın anlamlılığı Cronbach Alfa katsayısı ile incelenmiştir. Bulgular, ölçeğin dört faktörlü bir yapıda olup uyum indekslerinin kabul sınırında bulunduğunu, Cronbach Alfa güvenirliğinin 0.91, tüm alt boyutlarının güvenirlik değerlerinin 0.70’ den büyük olduğunu, üst ve alt % 27’lik grupların madde ortalamaları arasındaki tüm farkların anlamlı olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Bu sonuçlar TPAB ölçeğinin Türkçe formunun geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu göstermektedir.

Çetin, Gülcan (Balikesir Author), The aim of the study was to determine the views of ninth grade students about health concept by drawing and writing technique. Study group consisted of 156 ninth grade students in two schools (Technical and Industrial Vocational Schools for Girls and Technical and Industrial Vocational Schools) in Kocaeli, Turkey in the 2010-2011 academic years. The study based on qualitative approach was conducted by means of the drawing and writing technique after 'the Health Concept Unit' had been thought in the 9 th grade Hygiene Course. Data were analyzed according to the content analysis method. Explanations of students about health concept were compatible with the findings obtained from their drawings in the study. According to the results of the study, it was seen that students usually described health as a physical and psychological well-being; however, they did not stress health in terms of social well-being adequately. While the importance of nutrition and exercise were mentioned at the protection of health in general, unbalanced diet, microbes and harmful habits were considered as factors negatively affecting health.

Öğretmenlerin ve öğrencilerin sahip olduğu epistemolojik inanç düzeyleri, onların öğretme, öğrenme biçimlerini, algılarını, çabalarını, kazanımlarını yakından etkilemektedir. Son yıllarda yapılan çalışmalarla farklı öğretim düzeyinden öğrencilerin sahip oldukları epistemolojik inanç düzeyleri çeşitli değişkenler açısından araştırılmaktadır. Özellikle, öğretmen yetiştiren kurumlarda öğretmen adaylarının epistemolojik inanç düzeylerinin sürekli ve düzenli olarak belirlenmesi ve öğretmen yetiştirme programlarında öğretmen adaylarının epistemolojik inançlarının da dikkate alınması önemlidir. Araştırmanın Amacı: Bu araştırmanın genel amacı, öğretmen adaylarının epistemolojik inançlarını çeşitli değişkenler açısından araştırmaktır. Yöntem: Tarama yönteminin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada öğretmen adaylarına Schommer (1990) tarafından geliştirilen ve Deryakulu ve Büyüköztürk (2002) tarafından Türk öğrencilerine uygulanarak geçerlik güvenirlik çalışması yapılmış olan Epistemolojik İnanç Ölçeği (EİÖ) uygulanmıştır. Epistemolojik İnanç Ölçeği; on yedi maddeden oluşan “Öğrenmenin Çabaya Bağlı Olduğu İnanç”, dokuz maddeden oluşan Öğrenmenin Yeteneğe Bağlı Olduğuna İnanç” ve sekiz maddeden oluşan “Tek Bir Doğrunun Var Olduğuna İnanç” olarak isimlendirilen üç alt faktörden oluşmaktadır. Epistemolojik İnanç Ölçeğinde puanların değerlendirilmesi faktör bazında yapılmakta, ölçeğin bütününden alınan puanlar genellikle pek kullanılmamaktadır. Bunun nedeni, ölçeğin her bir faktörünün diğer faktörlerden bağımsız bir inanç boyutunu olması ve her boyutunun öğrenme üzerinde farklı etkileri olduğunun saptanmasıdır. Ölçeğin her bir faktöründen alınan yüksek puan, bireyin o faktöre ilişkin olgunlaşmamış /gelişmemiş inançlara sahip olduğu, düşük puan ise bireyin o faktöre ilişkin olgunlaşmış /gelişmiş inançlara sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Balıkesir Üniversitesinde Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi ve Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmayı yanıtlayan 533 öğrenciden 216’sı Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi, 317’si Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi öğrencisidir. Araştırmada Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi Ortaöğretim Fen ve Matematik Alanları Eğitimi Bölümünden Fizik Öğretmenliği (n=32), Kimya Öğretmenliği (n=47), Biyoloji Öğretmenliği (n=39), Matematik Öğretmenliği (n=60) ve Ortaöğretim Sosyal Alanlar Eğitimi Bölümünden de Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Öğretmenliği (n=36) 4 -5 sınıf öğrencileri çalışma grubuna alınmıştır. Fen Edebiyat Fakültesinden ise Fizik Bölümü (n=48), Kimya Bölümü (n=81), Biyoloji Bölümü (n=94), Matematik Bölümü (n=40) ile Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı bölümü ( n=56) 4 sınıf öğrencileri çalışma grubuna alınmıştır. Bu öğrencilerin 341’i kız, 192’si erkektir. Araştırma verilerinin analizinde, betimsel istatistikler, bağımsız örneklemler için t testi ve tek faktörlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) kullanılmıştır. Varyans analizi testinin anlamlı çıktığı durumlarda, farklılığın ne yönde olduğunu belirlemek için de Scheffe testi uygulanmıştır. Bulgular ve Sonuçlar: Araştırmada öğretmen adaylarının epistemolojik inanç düzeyinin orta düzeyde olgunlaştığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmen adayları öğrenmenin çabadan çok yeteneğe bağlı olduğuna inanmaktadırlar. Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi öğrencileri, öğrenmenin yetenekten çok çabaya bağlı olduğuna Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencilerine göre daha çok inanmaktadırlar. Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencileri ise öğrenmenin yeteneğe bağlı olduğuna ve tek bir değişmez doğrunun olduğuna Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi öğrencilerine oranla daha güçlü bir biçimde inanmaktadırlar. Araştırmada epistemolojik inanç düzeyi ile bölümler ve öğretim türleri arasında anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Öğrenmenin Yeteneğe Bağlı Olduğuna İnanç” (2. Faktör) için Kimya öğretmenliği ile Biyoloji Bölümü, Kimya Bölümü, ve Matematik bölümü arasında Kimya öğretmenliği lehine anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Üçüncü faktör “Tek Bir Doğrunun Var Olduğuna İnanç” için yapılan analiz sonucunda ise Matematik öğretmenliği ile Biyoloji ve Kimya bölümleri arasında Matematik öğretmenliği lehine, Türk Dili Edebiyatı Öğretmenliği ile Biyoloji Bölümü arasında Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Öğretmenliği lehine, Kimya Öğretmenliği ile Biyoloji, Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı, Kimya ve Fizik Bölümleri arasında Kimya Öğretmenliği lehine anlamlı bir farklılık görülmüştür. Epistemolojik inanç düzeyi ile cinsiyet arasında da anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Erkek öğrencilerin öğrenmenin yetenekten çok çabaya bağlı olduğuna kız öğrencilere oranla daha çok inandıkları belirlenmiştir. Son olarak, öğretmen adaylarının anne-babalarının eğitim seviyeleri ile epistemolojik inançları arasında ise anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Tartışma ve Öneriler: Öğretmen adaylarının epistemolojik inanç düzeyinin orta düzeyde olgunlaştığı ve öğrenmenin çabadan çok yeteneğe bağlı olduğuna inandıkları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Üniversiteye giriş puanları göz önüne alındığında Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi öğrencilerine göre daha yüksek puanlarla bölümlerine yerleşen Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencilerinin öğrenmenin yeteneğe bağlı olduğuna olan inançlarının daha olgunlaşmış olması normal karşılanabilir. The levels of epistemological beliefs of teachers and students closely affect their ways of teaching and learning, their perceptions, efforts and acquisition. Thanks to the recent studies, the epistemological belief levels of students in different grades are researched in terms of different variables. It is important that the epistemological belief levels of the teacher candidates at teacher training institutions are defined continuously and regularly and that their beliefs are taken into account in teacher training programs. Purpose of Study: The purpose of this study is to explore the epistemological beliefs of teacher candidates in terms of various variables. Method: The study made use of a survey technique in which teacher candidates were asked to respond to an Epistemological Beliefs Inventory (EBI). The study group consisted of students at Balıkesir University Necatibey Faculty of Education (NFE) and Faculty of Science and Literature (FSL). Of the 533 students participating in the study, 216 were from the Necatibey Faculty of Education and 317 from the Faculty of Science and Literature. Of the total students, 341 were female while 192 were male. For data analysis, t test and ANOVA were used. In situations where the analysis of variance proved to be significant, Scheffe’s test was applied to determine the direction of the variation. Findings and Results: The findings of the study led to the conclusion that epistemological beliefs of teacher candidates were moderately developed. Teacher candidates believed that learning is more dependent on ability rather than effort. The students in the Faculty of Science and Literature had a stronger belief that learning is dependent upon effort rather than ability, while the students in the Necatibey Faculty of Education, however, had more of a belief that learning is dependent upon ability and that there is only one unchangeable truth. The research revealed that epistemological belief levels exhibited significant differences in terms of departments and teaching types. Epistemological belief levels also differed significantly in terms of genders. It was found that male students, more than females, believed that learning is more dependent on effort rather than ability. It was found that there wasn’t any difference between the epistemological beliefs of teacher candidates in terms of the educational levels of their parents. Conclusions and Recommendations: It was concluded that the epistemological beliefs of teacher candidates had matured moderately and they believed that learning was more related with ability rather than effort. Determining the levels of epistemological beliefs of teacher candidates at the faculties of education is important in terms of improving their beliefs positively and getting to know these students better. Moreover, it is thought-provoking to discover the high level of maturation of teacher candidates’ beliefs that learning is dependent upon ability and that there is only a single truth. Qualitative research should be carried out especially to understand why the level of belief in a single truth is so high.

Because there is little connection between physics concepts and real life, most students find physics very difficult. In this frontline I have provided a timely link of the historical development using the basic story of neutrino physics and integrated this into introductory modern physics courses in high schools or in higher education. In this way an instructor may be able to build on students' curiosity in order to enhance the curriculum with some remarkable new physics. Using the history of science in the classroom shapes and improves students' views and knowledge of the nature of science and increase students' interest in physics.

Present study reviews empirical research studies related to learning science in online learning environments as a community. Studies published between 1995 and 2015 were searched by using ERIC and EBSCOhost databases. As a result, fifteen studies were selected for review. Identified studies were analyzed with a qualitative content analysis method suggested by Li and Tsai ( 2013). Content from the studies regarding social interaction in online learning environments while teaching or learning science were analyzed to identify research purposes, theoretical foundations, and learning foci. Results indicated of the 15 studies, six studies were built on a specific learning theory. Of the 15 studies, eleven indicated that their focus was socio-contextual learning. Scientific process was studied in eight studies. Six focused on scientific knowledge, five focused on engagement, four considered effect as their focus, and one studied problem solving. The importance of online learning environments for learning science was pointed to better integrate technology and education.

Kocakülah, Mustafa Sabri (Balikesir Author), Yapılandırmacı yaklaşımın temel alındığı Üretken Öğrenme Modeline göre tasarlanan Işığın Tek Yarıkta Kırınımı konusuna ait öğretimin, öğrencilerin kavramsal değişimleri üzerindeki etkisi ön test son test kontrol gruplu desenin uygulandığı bu araştırma ile belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak; hazır bulunuşluk testi, kavramsal anlama testi ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler kullanılmıştır. Öğretim sonrasında kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin tek yarıkta kırınım düzeneğinde yol farkının neden alındığı konusuna açıklık getiremedikleri ve yol farkı almada hatalar yaptıkları gözlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin bazılarının ışığın yarığın uçlarında büküleceği ve bükülen ışınların girişim yapacağı düşüncesini araştırma sonrasında korudukları, bazılarının ise ışığın dalga ve tanecik modellerini birleştirerek melez yanıtlar geliştirdikleri saptanmıştır. Yapılandırmacı yaklaşımın benimsendiği deney grubu öğrencilerinde kavramsal anlamanın daha üst düzeyde gerçekleştiği; yol farkı, perde üzerinde aydınlık ve karanlık saçakların dizilimi ve saçak aralıklarının değişimini başarı ile açıklayabilmelerinden anlaşılmaktadır., In this study, effect of designed constructivist teaching approach about diffraction of light in a single-slit on students #8217; conceptual change was investigated with a pretest-posttest control group design. An achievement test, a conceptual understanding test and semi-structured interviews were used as data collection instruments. It was observed that control group students were unable to clarify the reason of calculating path difference and made mistakes in explaining how the path difference was found after teaching. Some students were found to preserve the idea that light bends at the ends of the slit and those bended light rays interfere while some others developed hybrid responses by composing wave and particle models of light. It was revealed that experimental group students reached higher levels of conceptual understandings than control group students considering their responses of explaining successfully the notions of path difference, order of bright and dark fringes on a screen and the change in fringe width.

Enzymology is one of the fundamental areas of biochemistry and involves the study of the structure, kinetics, and regulation of enzyme activity. Research in this area is often conducted with purified enzymes and extrapolated to in vivo conditions. The specificity constant, Km (Michaelis-Menten constant), Vmax (catalytic power), IC(50) and Ki (inhibition constant) expresses the efficiency of an enzyme as a catalyst. These parameters are usually determined for enzyme catalysis and inhibition study. In this work we propose a classroom experiment for its determination using polyphenol oxidase (P PO) enzyme from banana. In addition, inhibition experiment was carried out by L-cysteine and p-aminobenzene sulfonamide which is classical PPO inhibitors. The Km and Vmax values of banana PPO towards catechol and 4-methyl catechol were determined by Lineweaver Burk method. Although there were a few variations in the kinetic parameters results among students, the students generally carried out the program successfully by correctly identifying inhibition type. The inquiry-based problem solving approach of this curriculum facilitates an understanding of the basic concepts of biochemistry and its application.

Dirmenci, Tuncay (Balikesir Author), From the dichloromethane extract of Nepeta sorgerae, the isolation and structure elucidation are now reported of a new isopimarane diterpenoid, named sorgerolone, and two known triterpenoids, oleanolic acid and ursolic acid. Antioxidant activity of the extracts and the isolated terpenoids was determined by the DPPH free radical scavenging and lipid peroxidation inhibition (beta-carotene bleaching) methods. Anticholinesterase activity of the extracts and isolates was investigated by Ellman's method against AChE and BChE enzymes. Çalışmanın örneklemini, ölçüt örnekleme yoluyla seçilen 2009 -2010 eğitim-öğretim yılında Balıkesir Üniversitesi Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi’nde okuyan 245 fizik, kimya ve biyoloji öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aşamasında araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Çevre Sorunlarını Bilim Dalları ile İlişkilendirme Testi (ÇSBİT), Kelime İlişkilendirme Testi (KİT), ve Çevre Sorunlarını Termodinamik Yasalarını ile İlişkilendirme Testi (ÇS TİT) kullanılmıştır. Research sampling is composed of 245 prospective teachers from physics, chemistry and biology depa rtments during the academic year 2009 -2010 in Balıkesir University, Necatibey Faculty of Education. In data -gathering stage Association Test of Environmental Problems with Science Fields (ATEPSF), Word Association Test (WAT), and Association Test of Enviro nmental Problems with Laws of Thermodynamics (ATEPLT) developed by researcher have been employed. According to findings obtained from ATEPSF prospective teachers from physics, chemistry and biology departments associate environmental problems mostly with b iology which is followed by chemistry, earth science and physics. Besides “air pollution” is considered to be the most critical environmental problem. As manifested by WAT and ATEPLT findings, prospective teachers have failed to establish a connection betw een thermodynamics and environmental problems as well as energy pollution and thermal pollution and that prospective teachers have experienced difficulty in practicing thermodynamics laws within the scope of daily environmental problems.

Guided by three theoretical frameworks in vocational psychology, (i) theory of work adjustment, (ii) two factor theory, and (iii) value discrepancy theory, the purpose of this study was to investigate Turkish pre-service music teachers' values and the role of fit between person and environment in understanding vocational satisfaction. Participants were 85 students enrolled in the department of music education in a Turkish university. The Minnesota Importance Questionnaire (MIQ) was used to examine the participants’ values in six dimensions: achievement, comfort, status, altruism, safety and autonomy. Results revealed that the pre-service teachers value achievement most followed by autonomy, which suggests that they would like to have a sense of accomplishment and control in their future job. The degree to which their values fit their predictions about future work environment was found to be highly correlated with vocational satisfaction. These results provided evidence that the vocational theories used in the current study offers a helpful and different perspective to understand the pre-service teachers' satisfaction with becoming a music teacher in the future. We believe that researchers in the field of music education may use these theories and MIQ to examine the role of values in pre-service and in-service music teachers' job satisfaction.

İmparatorlukta Tanzimat’la birlikte başlatılan devletin yapısına yeniden nizam verme faaliyetlerinin iktisadi anlamda yansıması olan bu kayıtlar, tutulduğu böl- genin makro ve mikro düzeyde sosyo-ekonomik kompozisyonunu çıkarmanın yanında; Osmanlı taşrasının ayrıntılı bilgilerini ihtiva etmekte ve Osmanlı taşrasını çözümlemeye yönelik çalışmalar için önemli istatistikî verileri kapsamaktadır. These registers are economic reflections of reconstructing activities of the state structure started with Tanzimat and provide relevant region #8217;s micro and macro socio-economic picture and include the most detailed and important economic data of the Ottoman lands, thus enabling researchers to analyze the countryside. After a short description of geographic position, an assessment on the number of neighbor-hoods and households, ethnic and vocational distribution of the population, architectural monuments of the town and their condition today is given. Besides, changes in administrative and demographic structure of Vushtrri/Vu #269;itrn during the late 19th Centry when the town gained status of Kaza within the Kosovo Province is analyzed.

Küreselleşen dünyada ikinci dil eğitimi giderek daha çok önem kazanmakta, ancak artan öneme koşut olarak konuyla ilgili yakınmalar da giderek artmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ikinci dil öğrenmeyle ilgili yazın alanında yapılan çalışmalar ile lise ve üniversite düzeyinde ikinci dil öğrenenlerin algıları karşılaştırılmıştır. Veriler dil ağırlıklı eğitim yapan Balıkesir Sırrı Yırcalı Anadolu Lisesinde, Balıkesir Üniversitesi Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi İngilizce Öğretmenliği Programında ve Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Yüksekokulunda öğrenim gören öğrencilere uygulanan likert tipi anketten elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler nicel ve nitel bir yöntemle çözümlenmiştir. Öğrenenlerin ikinci dil öğrenmeye karşı olumlu, ancak sürecin sonucuna yönelik olumsuz bir tutum sergiledikleri görülmüştür. Alan yazınında ortaya çıkan sonuçlar ile katılımcıların öğrenme stillerinin örtüşmediği, bunun için dil öğretimindeki bakış açısının ve kullanılan kavramların gözden ge- çirilmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır., Second language teaching is gaining more and more importance in the global world. However, displeasure about language teaching also increase. The purpose of the present study is to compare the results of the previous studies to the perceptions of second language learners who are studying in high school and university. The data were obtained from a 5-Likert questionnaire administrated to the students who are studying in Balıkesir Sırrı Yırcalı Anatolian High School ,The Department of English Language Teaching, and School of Tourism and Hotel Management at Balıkesir University. The data were analyzed through the quantitative and qualitative methods. The results of the study demonstrate that the students have positive attitudes towards second language learning but that they have negative attitudes towards the end of the second language learning process. It is concluded that the results of the previous studies is not consistent with the learning styles of the participants. Therefore, it is suggested that judgements about language teaching and conceptions used in this area should be reconsidered.

The studies on English as a Foreign Language (EFL) course books have mainly focused on the presentation of language and communicative skills rather than teachers’ perceptions of the presentation of those skills. Thus, this study aims to investigate how teachers perceive the presentation of main language skills in a course book. The sample group in the study consisted of 48 pre-service teachers of English, and a questionnaire aimed at measuring their perceptions of the presentation of language skills in the course book, Spot on 8. The data were used to provide a descriptive analysis to address the research question. The results indicated that pre-service teachers have largely positive perceptions of the presentation of main skills, whereas there exists some problems in terms of speaking skills., Yabancı bir dil olarak İngilizce ders kitapları ile ilgili çalışmalar, dil becerilerinin sunulmasına yönelik öğretmen algılarından çok, çoğunlukla dil ve iletişim becerilerinin sunumu üzerine odaklanmışlardır. Bu nedenle mevcut çalışma, aday öğretmenlerin bir ders kitabındaki temel dil becerilerini nasıl algıladıklarını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmanın örneklem grubu, 48 İngilizce öğretmeninden oluşmuş, Spot on 8 on adlı kitapta dil becerilerinin sunumuna yönelik algıları ölçmek için bir anket kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sorusuna bağlı olarak, veri, betimsel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Biber, Kazım (Balikesir Author), Problem Durumu: Sağlıklı bir toplum, sağlıklı bireylerden oluşmaktadır. Sağlıklı bireylerin yetişmesindeki en önemli faktörlerden biri de sağlıklı bir aileye ve sağlıklı bir aile yaşantısıdır. Ayrıca okul öncesi dönemdeki çocuk için en belirgin modeller, zaman ve çevre birlikteliğini paylaştığı annesi ve babasıdır. Ancak her çocuk biyolojik anne ve babası ile büyüme şansına sahip değildir. Aile işlevini yerine getiremediği durumlarda çocuklar devlet kurumlarında bakım ve koruma altına alınmakta, kurum çalışanları da ailenin yerini tutmaktadır. Araştırmanın Amacı: Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, Portage Erken Eğitim Programının kurum ortamında yaşayan 5-6 yaş grubu çocukların gelişimleri ile aile katılım düzeyleri üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesidir. Yöntem: Neden-sonuç ilişkilerini belirlemek amacı ile yapılan bu deneysel araştırmada deney ve kontrol gruplarını SHÇEK (Sosyal Hizmetler Çocuk esirgeme Kurumu) bağlı Balıkesir Müşerref Yırcalı Çocuk Yuvası ve İzmir Karşıyaka Çocuk Yuvasında koruma ve bakım altındaki 5-6 yaş grubu 32 çocuk ve 32 grup sorumlusu (24 bakıcı anne, 8 grup öğretmeni) oluşturmaktadır. Deney ve kontrol gruplarının öne-test/son-test verileri Portage Gelişim Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Deney grubuna Portage Erken Eğitim Programı 20 hafta uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgular değerlendirilirken, istatistiksel analizler için SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 15.0 programı kullanılmıştır. Bulgular ve Sonuçlar: Araştırma sonuçları göstermektedir ki, 5-6 yaşında, kurum ortamında yaşayan deney grubu çocukların, ailelerinin yerini tutan grup öğretmeni ve bakıcı annelerine uygulanan Portage Erken eğitim Programı sonrası çocukların; sosyal, dil, özbakım, bilişsel ve fiziksel gelişim alanlarında anlamlı farklılık olduğu bulunmuştur. Önerileri: Bakıcı anne ve grup öğretmenleri çocuk gelişimi konusunda bilgi ve eğitim sahibi olmasına rağmen uygulanan program deney gruplarının lehine farklılık yaratmış olması, kurum çalışanlarının eğitimine bakılmaksızın sürekli hizmet içi programlarla desteklenmesi çocukların gelişim alanlarına katkı sağlayabilir., Statement of the Problem: A healthy society is composed of healthy individuals. One of the most important factors in growing healthy individuals is a healthy family and healthy family life. In addition, the most prominent models for a preschool child are his/her mother and father with whom he/she shares time and environment togetherness. However, not all children have the chance to grow up with their biological mothers and fathers. In cases when families do not fulfill their function, children are taken under the care and protection of governmental institutions; employees of these institutions replace the roles of the families Purpose of the Study: The main objective of this study is to investigate the effects of a family involvement program aimed for employees in charge of 5 to 6 years old children living in child care centers under the control of Social Services and Children Protection Agency (SSCPA). Method of the Study: In this experimental study, conducted to determine cause-effect relationships, experimental and control groups are composed of 32 children between 5 and 6 years old, under the protection and care of Müşerref Yırcalı SSCPA in Balıkesir and İzmir Karşıyaka Child Care Center ; and 32 employees who are responsible for the groups (24 caretakers and 8 group teachers). Pretest - posttest data regarding the experimental and control groups were gathered by using "The Portage Early Childhood Education Program's Social Development Control List". To the experimental group Portage Early Childhood Education Program was applied by the researcher in twenty-week period. Findings in this study were evaluated by using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 15.0 program. Findings and Conclusions: Research results show that, after the Portage Program was applied to the caretakers and group teachers replacing the families, the children of the experimental group under the protection of 5-6 years old care centers there are significant differences in social, language, self-care, cognitive and physical developmental areas. Suggestions:The fact that the applied program has created difference in favor of the experimental group, despite caretakers and group teachers have knowledge and professional training about child development, comes up to the conclusion that providing the employees of the institution with continued, in-service training programs regardless of their educational backgrounds could contribute to children's developmental areas.

The purpose of this research is to determine the learning styles of music education students and investigate whether is a significant difference between the points of academic achievement of the music branch of courses and their learning styles. The study group was 70 students studying Balikesir University Necatibey Education Faculty Fine Arts Education Department Music Education Main Branch in 2010-2011 Spring Term.To gather data “Kolb's Learning Style Inventory-III” and transcript of students’ achievement points were used. Trabzon yakınlarındaki 3 sintip örneğine [Bourgeau 695; Sintenis 3432 (lektotip olarak belirlenmiştir); Handel- Mazzetti 324] dayalı olarak tanımlanmıştır. O tarihten bugüne kadar ilk kez 2010 yılında (103 yıl sonra) Trabzon yakınlarındaki 2 sintip lokalitesinden toplanmıştır. 2 takson için Türkiye florasındaki otörlerin değil, diğer otörlerin kategorisi kabul edilmiştir [S. germanica L. subsp. bithynica (Boiss.) Eriostomum (Hoffmanns. Link) Dumort. (Lamiaceae), 4 taxa [S. tymphaea Hausskn., S. thracica Davidov, S. cretica L. subsp. cretica, and S. cretica L. subsp. salviifolia (Ten.) Rech.f.] were recorded for the first time from Turkey. S. cretica subsp. trapezuntica Rech.f., which was described based on 3 syntypes [Bourgeau 695; Sintenis 3432 (designated here as the lectotype); Handel-Mazzetti 324] near Trabzon, had not been collected again since 1907. It was found in 2 syntype localities from Trabzon in 2010 during this study, for the first time in 103 years. For 2 taxa, the categories of other authors were accepted, as opposed to those in Flora of Turkey: S. germanica L. subsp. bithynica (Boiss.) R.Bhattacharjee (a subspecies) was replaced with S. bithynica Boiss. as a species, and S. balansae Boiss. Kotschy subsp. carduchorum R.Bhattacharjee (a subspecies) was replaced with S. carduchorum (R.Bhattacharjee) Rech.f. as a species. In one taxon, the category of Haussknecht was accepted: S. tymphaea Hausskn. The status of S. libanotica Benth. var. minor Boiss. was changed to S. minor (Boiss.) Akçiçek Dirmenci comb. et stat. nov. One species (S. ehrenbergii Boiss.) was removed from the flora of Turkey because it was mistakenly reported to grow in Turkey. Descriptions, diagnostic characters, detailed illustrations, distribution maps, and taxonomic comments for these taxa are presented. A phylogenetic analysis using the ITS of the nuclear ribosomal DNA of the examined taxa further confirmed the rearrangements suggested.

Avcı, İsmail (Balikesir Author), This study focuses on the story called Iskender-i Zulkarneyn'in Tevelludi which mentions the birth of Alexander the Great and his enthronement. The roots of the story go back to Taberi's history and Sehname and the very same story has been told among Uzbeks and Turkmen under the names of Iskenderbek and Isgender Patisa respectively. The subject has also been mentioned with some differences in Iskendername type works written in Turkish and Persian. Nizami's, Ahmedi's, Ahmed-i Ridvan's and Ali Sir. Nevayi's works on the same subject are sources in which the story can be fallowed. The Story is analyzed on the basis of the titles of "birth", "naming" and "suzerainty" and the comparisons are made with above mentioned texts. Events took place before and after birth, his up-bringing and education issues have been subjected in the birth section. The nature of the names given as Alexander and Zulkarneyn and the myths around them analyzed in the part of naming. Re-union of Alexander with his mother (he had been separated so long) and related prophecies, visions and various accounts referring to his sovereignty are examined in the suzerainty section. Moreover, the text of the story is given at the end of the study., Bu yazıda Büyük İskender’in doğumunu, ad almasını ve hükümdar oluşunu anlatan İskender-i Zülkarneyn’iñ Tevellüdi başlıklı hikâye üzerinde durulmuştur. Özbekler arasında Dara ve İskenderbek, Türkmenler arasında ise İsgender Patışa adıyla anlatılan söz konusu hikâyenin temeli Doğu’da, Taberî tarihi ve Firdevsî’nin ünlü eseri Şehnâme’ye dayanmaktadır. Konu İran ve Türk edebiyatlarında yazılmış İskendernâme türü eserlerde de bazı farklarla geçmektedir. Nizâmî’nin iki kitaptan meydana gelen İskendernâme ’si; Ahmedî, Ahmed-i Rıdvân, ve Ali Şîr Nevâyî gibi müelliflerin aynı konuyu anlatan eserleri hikâyenin takip edilebileceği kaynaklardır. Hikâye “doğum”, “ad verme” ve “hükümdarlık” başlıkları esas alınarak ve yukarıda sözü edilen metinlerle mukayese edilerek incelenmiştir. Doğum kısmında aileler, doğum öncesi ve sonrası olaylar, yetiştirilme ve eğitim; ad verme kısmında İskender ve Zülkarneyn adlarının nasıl verildiği ve bunlarla ilgili efsaneler; hükümdarlık kısmında ise İskender’in ayrı düştüğü annesiyle kavuşması, hükümdarlığına işaret eden fal, rüya ve çeşitli söylentiler konu edilmiştir. Yer yer halk hikâyesi özellikleri gösteren hikâyenin metni de çalışmanın sonuna eklenmiştir.
