It is commonly assumed that exposure to pornography harms relationships because pornography changes the way that individuals think, feel, and behave in problematic ways. In the current research, we contribute to a small but growing body of work that challenges this assumption by carefully scrutinizing the relational context of pornography use. In contrast to dominant theoretical explanations in this field, we argue that at least some of the apparent negative “impacts” of pornography use on relationship quality may reflect partner dissimilarity in pornography use behavior rather than the consequences of exposure to such materials. Moreover, we further examine a particular type of pornography use – shared use with a partner – which previous evidence suggests may be positively associated with relationship quality. To this end, we sought to test whether dyadic patterns of pornography use, and related attributes, were associated with sexual and relationship satisfaction in two cross-sectional (N1 = 200; N3 = 207) and two longitudinal (N2 = 77; N4 = 277) samples of heterosexual couples. Across these samples, we found consistent evidence that partners who watch pornography together report higher relationship and sexual satisfaction than partners who do not, and notably, this association was not moderated by gender. Independent of this association, we also found evidence of a similarity-dissimilarity effect, such that the solitary pornography use of one partner was negatively associated with their own relationship and sexual satisfaction, but only in cases where their romantic partners used little or no pornography alone. Further consideration of several correlates of pornography use established comparable patterns of results for dissimilarity in attitudes toward pornography, erotophobia-erotophilia, sexual preferences, and sex drive. Importantly, only dissimilarity in sex drive statistically accounted for dissimilarity in solitary pornography use, suggesting that differences in sex drive may be implicated in the associations between pornography use and relationship quality. These findings demonstrate that links between pornography use and relationship health are partially a function of different dyadic patterns of pornography use within couples and do not always suggest relational harm.

This article reviews ten studies using parent training as a treatment approach for ADHD children. Six elements of research methods are considered: (1) type of parent training program; (2) parental psychopathological assessment; (3) parental involvement; (4) setting of treatment; (5) medication usage; and, (6) follow-up analysis. The studies were obtained through a computerized search of PsychINFO and Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection. Although parent training appears to be an effective treatment approach for ADHD children, the investigation revealed that all six elements of the research methods are in need of improvement. Suggestions for future research in this area are provided.

Invasive lobular breast cancer (ILC) accounts for 10-15% of all invasive breast carcinomas. It is generally ER positive (ER+) and often associated with lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS). Genome-wide association studies have identified more than 70 common polymorphisms that predispose to breast cancer, but these studies included predominantly ductal (IDC) carcinomas. To identify novel common polymorphisms that predispose to ILC and LCIS, we pooled data from 6,023 cases (5,622 ILC, 401 pure LCIS) and 34,271 controls from 36 studies genotyped using the iCOGS chip. Six novel SNPs most strongly associated with ILC/LCIS in the pooled analysis were genotyped in a further 516 lobular cases (482 ILC, 36 LCIS) and 1,467 controls. These analyses identified a lobular-specific SNP at 7q34 (rs11977670, OR (95%CI) for ILC = 1.13 (1.09-1.18), P = 6.0 × 10(-10); P-het for ILC vs IDC ER+ tumors = 1.8 × 10(-4)). Food resources in the ocean are often found in low densities, and need to be concentrated for efficient consumption. This is done in part by oceanographic features transporting and locally concentrating plankton, creating a highly patchy resource. Lagrangian approaches applied to ocean dynamics can identify these transport features, linking Lagrangian transport and spatial ecology. However, little is known about how Lagrangian approaches perform in ageostrophic coastal flows. This study evaluates two Lagrangian Coherent Structure metrics against the distribution of phytoplankton; Finite Time Lyapunov Exponents (FTLE) and Relative Particle Density (RPD). FTLE and RPD are applied to High Frequency Radar (HFR) observed surface currents within a biological hotspot, Palmer Deep Canyon Antarctica. FTLE and RPD identify different transport patterns, with RPD mapping single particle trajectories and FTLE tracking relative motion of paired particles. Simultaneous measurements of circulation and phytoplankton were gathered through the integration of vessel and autonomous glider surveys within the HFR footprint. Results show FTLE better defined phytoplankton patches compared to RPD, with the strongest associations occurring in stratified conditions, suggesting that phytoplankton congregate along FTLE ridges in coastal flows. This quantified relationship between circulation and phytoplankton patches emphasizes the role of transport in the maintenance of coastal food webs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Conceptual aspects of industrial enterprises financial security are considered, features of industrial enterprises financial security information and analytical support functioning are determined. On the basis of which a structural and logical scheme of information and analytical support of an industrial enterprise financial security in modern transformational conditions is proposed. The analysis of the current state of major external and internal threats identification is carried out. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the most risky components of an industrial enterprise financial security are investment and credit, since these components carry the greatest number of risks. Also, a comprehensive analytical assessment of the information and analytical support formation of the country’s Western region business structures financial security was made. The calculations make it possible to identify the main problematic aspects of the functioning of enterprises and threats to their financial security and to develop measures to strengthen it. The economic efficiency of the information and analytical support system introduction of industrial enterprises financial security with consideration of strategic and tactical vectors of development, and also depends on completeness, reliability, timeliness of the information component. The algorithm of forming information and analytical support of industrial enterprises financial security assessment with consideration of software is investigated. On the basis of which a multi-vector mechanism of information and analytical support of industrial enterprises financial security in modern conditions of turbulence of economic processes is proposed. This will make the decision-makers informed, both strategic and tactical, operational.

The article presents recommendations for the use of open systems network technologies (OSNT). It determines the priority directions of the use of OSNT and the circumstances of their implementation at higher educational institutions (HEI). While modeling the process of specialist training, all its aspects (educational, scientific, organizational, managerial, educational etc.) should be analysed. It is important to use open systems network technologies in the educational process at HEI. The transition to the system of organization of educational process with the use of OSNT is theoretically grounded. Such transition requires that a university present an information package about the institution and a student coordinator for the educational process. The article focuses on the process of training of Bachelors of Informatics. It is determined that informing of future Bachelors of Informatics about the organization of their study program, peculiarities of training quality control and managerial activity is carried out at all levels of management: chair, dean’s office, university administration. The peculiarities of the use of OSNT by all the participants of the educational process of the HEI are described. It is substantiated that OSNT fully accompany the process of students training. The academic staff forms the educational load and elaborates the educational and methodical complex of subjects. The administration of HEI and educational and administrative staff of HEI (enrollment committee, the formation of lessons schedule, library, personnel department) also have important functions in the process of students training. OSNT selection for the higher educational institutions should be performed according to the following characteristics: (i) management supporting; (ii) commitment to the end-user; (iii) establishment of three-dimensional interaction; (iv) user service.

Business cannot act in isolation from society since it itself is a part of society. The fact that corporate social responsibility (hereinafter – CSR) has become a global business concept that defines key ideas and a modern format for entrepreneurship is no longer questionable. Every year, more and more companies are joining the initiative of non-financial reporting, which acts as a “business card of a social image.” The presence of social and ethical business standards greatly contributes to the formation of a positive business image and increases corporate competitiveness. At the same time, the growth of social, environmental, and economic problems of a global scale raises public expectations and, therefore, requirements for socially responsible activities of companies, inducing them to continuously improve the quality of CSR practices, finding innovative approaches to solving socially important problems, which is reflected in the global development trends of socially responsible business. The formation of models of state regulation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in developed countries took place over several decades and, at the present stage, they are characterized by a high degree of development. The author aims to study the genesis of development of models of state regulation of corporate social responsibility, analyse principles of the formation of social responsibility strategy, and propose areas for improving CSR for companies operating in the European business space at the modern development stage in view of implementing the concept of sustainable development. After analysing the national models of CSR state regulation, we note that in the research of scientists, there from three (American, European, Asian) to seven models: American (US), European (Continental), British, Scandinavian, Asian (Japanese), African, model of BRICS countries or more. But, of course, the US model of CSR, formed in the specific conditions of the free market, is the largest. Key conclusions of the involvement of European companies in the implementation of the CSR strategy are as follows: involvement depends on the size of the company (CSR policy is applied by 48% of small and 65% of medium-sized companies); the implementation of the CSR policy does not depend on the company’s field, but there was a geographical discrepancy (for example, 33% of the SME in France and 83% in Finland); among all companies, 50% use the CSR strategy; only 8% of the EU company receive privileges or subsidies from the state for implementing the CSR policy; more than 75% of SME representatives among respondents can determine the benefits of corporate social responsibility. In the majority of the EU countries, state programs of support and stimulation of the abovementioned processes, in which the state defines socially responsible behaviour for business, engages private and public sector companies in the joint fulfilment of socially important tasks, stimulates business to socially responsible activity, are developed and operate. On the basis of determining the factors influencing the formation of social responsibility strategy and matrix of the appropriateness of SRB introduction, areas for improving strategic management based on social responsibility standards were formed.

Background: Long-term oral anticoagulants (OAC) increases bleeding risk after the percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) with Aspirin and P2Y12 inhibitors. We hypothesize that dual anti-thrombotic therapy (DATT) reduces bleeding without increased cardiovascular events. Objectives: DATT does not increase adverse cardiovascular events compared to triple anti-thrombotic therapy (TATT). Method: We searched MEDLINE, PUBMED, Google Scholar, Cochrane and EMBASE from inception to 6 April 2019 for randomized control trials (RCTs) comparing DATT to TATT after PCI. Results: We identified 641 citations (411 after excluding duplicates). Four RCTs with 5,317 patients (3,039 on DATT vs 2,278 on TATT) were included. DATT arm showed significantly reduced [total bleeding, 731 vs. 784, odds ratio [OR] = 0.51, Confidence Interval [CI] = 0.39–0.67, p < 0.00001, I2 = 71% (I2 = 0% without WOEST study)], [TIIMI major bleeding 60 vs. 80, OR = 0.56, CI = 0.4–0.79, p = 0.0009, I2 = 0%], and [TIIMI minor bleeding, 70 vs 126, OR = 0.43, CI = 0.32–0.59, p < 0.00001, I2 = 0%]. There was no difference in subsequent strokes, myocardial infarction, stent thrombosis, and mortality. A trend towards decreased non-cardiac deaths with DATT was observed, 14 vs 26, OR = 0.55, CI = 0.27–1.10, p = 0.09, I2 = 6%. Conclusions: DATT is associated with significantly reduced bleeding and a trend towards reduced non-cardiac death with no difference in adverse cardiovascular outcomes.
