The two‐dimensional (2D) monolayer material MoSi2N4 was successfully synthesized in 2020[Hong et al., Science 369, 670, (2020)], exhibiting a plethora of new phenomena and unusual properties, with good stability at room temperature. However, MA2Z4 family monolayer materials involve primarily transition metal substitutions for M atoms. In order to address the research gap on lanthanide and actinide MA2Z4 materials, this work conducts electronic structure calculations on novel 2D MSi2N4 (M = La, Eu) monolayer materials by employing first‐principles methods and CASTEP. High carrier mobility is discovered in the indirect bandgap semiconductor 2D LaSi2N4 monolayer (~5400 cm2 V−1 s−1) and in the spin (spin‐down channel) carrier mobility of the half‐metallic ferromagnetic EuSi2N4 monolayer (~2800 cm2 V−1 s−1). EuSi2N4 monolayer supplements research on spin carrier mobility in half‐metallic ferromagnetic monolayer materials at room temperature and possesses a magnetic moment of 5 μB, which should not be underestimated. Furthermore, due to the unique electronic band structure of EuSi2N4 monolayer (with the spin‐up channel exhibiting metallic properties and the spin‐down channel exhibiting semiconductor properties), it demonstrates a 100% spin polarization rate, presenting significant potential applications in fields such as magnetic storage, magnetic sensing, and spintronics. Achieving high efficiency narrowband near‐ultraviolet (NUV) emitters in organic light emitting diode (OLED) is still a formidable challenge. Herein, a proof‐of‐concept hybridized local and charge transfer (HLCT) molecule, named ICz‐BO, is prepared and characterized, in which both multiresonant (MR) skeletons are integrated via conjugation connection. A slightly distorted structure and weak intramolecular charge transfer (CT) interaction between two MR subunits lead to a high‐lying reverse intersystem crossing (h‐RISC) channel of T6→S1, also evidenced by both experimental and calculated results. Impressively, the ICz‐BO emitter exhibits outstanding narrowband NUV emission at 404 nm with a full‐width at half maximum of 28 nm in toluene solution. The solution processable OLED shows an excellent device performance with the recorded maximum external quantum efficiency of 12.01 %, concomitant with an extremely low y‐axis Commission Internationale de l’Éclairage (CIEy) value of 0.031. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest efficiency reported for the HLCT‐based NUV‐OLEDs to date. This research proves that the MR skeleton plays a positive effect on the narrowband hot exciton emitter, which provides an alternative paradigm for developing high‐efficiency NUV emitters. With the increasing demand for wearable electronic products, there is a pressing need to develop electronic devices that seamlessly conform to the contours of the human body while delivering excellent performance and reliability. Traditional rigid electronic fabrication technologies fall short of meeting these requirements, necessitating the exploration of advanced flexible fabrication technologies that offer new possibilities for designing and fabricating flexible and stretchable electronic products, particularly in wearable devices. Over time, the continuous development of innovative fabrication techniques has ushered in significant improvements in the design freedom, lightweight, seamless integration, and multifunctionality of wearable electronics. Here, we provide a comprehensive overview of the advancements facilitated by advanced fabrication technology in wearable electronics. It specifically focuses on key fabrication methods, including printed electronics fabrication, soft transfer, 3D structure fabrication, and deformation fabrication. By highlighting these advancements, it sheds light on the challenges and prospects for further development in wearable electronics fabrication technologies. Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed and fatal cancer among women worldwide. Dairy protein-derived peptides and dairy products are important parts of the daily human diet and have shown promising activities in suppressing the proliferation, migration, and invasion of breast cancer cells, both in vitro and in vivo. Most of the review literature employs meta-analysis methods to explore the association between dairy intake and breast cancer risk. However, there is a lack of comprehensive summary regarding the anti-breast cancer properties of dairy protein-derived peptides, dairy products, and dairy protein-based nanoparticles as well as their underlying mechanisms of action. Therefore, the present study discussed the breast cancer inhibitory effects and mechanisms of active peptides derived from various dairy protein sources. Additionally, the characteristics, anti-breast cancer activities and active components of several types of dairy products, including fermented milk, yogurt and cheeses, were summarized. Furthermore, the preparation methods and therapeutic effects of various dairy protein-containing nanoparticle delivery systems for breast cancer therapy were briefly described. Lastly, this work also provided an overview of what is currently known about the anti-breast cancer effects of dairy products in clinical studies. Background: Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounting for approximately 85% of cases. While immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have transformed treatment for advanced NSCLC, the role of bone metastasis in modulating ICI efficacy remains unclear. Bone metastasis, occurring in 30-40% of advanced NSCLC cases, is associated with worse outcomes. However, how this affects the therapeutic benefit of ICIs has not been fully elucidated, highlighting a critical knowledge gap in optimizing treatment for this patient population. Methods: A comprehensive literature search across multiple databases, including PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane, identified 13 studies with a total of 3,681 patients, of whom 37.6% had bone metastasis. Overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were compared between NSCLC patients with and without bone metastasis. Data were analyzed using a random-effects model to account for study heterogeneity. Results: The meta-analysis demonstrated that bone metastasis significantly worsened overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) in NSCLC patients treated with ICIs. Specifically, bone metastasis was associated with a 45% increased risk of death (HR: 1.45, 95% CI: 1.30–1.62, p < 0.001) and a 40% increased risk of disease progression (HR: 1.40, 95% CI: 1.25–1.58, p < 0.001). No statistically significant impact on PFS was observed. (HR: 1.28, 95% CI: 0.77–2.10, p = 0.34). High heterogeneity was observed in some subgroup analyses (I² = 72%), indicating variability in the results. Conclusion: Bone metastasis is a significant negative prognostic factor for NSCLC patients treated with ICIs, associated with a higher risk of mortality and disease progression. These results underscore the importance of tailored treatment approaches for NSCLC patients with bone metastasis and call for further research to optimize therapy outcomes in this group. Interfacial adhesion is one of the key factors affecting the reliability of micro–nano systems. The adhesion contact mechanism is still unclear as the time-dependent viscoelasticity of soft materials. To clarify the adhesion interaction, the pull-off detachment between the rigid flat punch and viscoelastic substrate is explored considering the viscoelasticity of soft materials and rate-dependent adhesion. Taking the Lennard-Jones (L-J) potential characterizing interfacial adhesion and the Prony series defining the viscoelasticity of materials as references, the bilinear cohesion zone model (CZM) and standard Maxwell model are employed, and an adhesion analysis framework is established by combining finite element technology. The influence laws of the loading and unloading rates, material relaxation coefficients and size effect on adhesion pull-off behavior are revealed. The results show that the pull-off force is independent of the material relaxation effect and related to the unloading rate. When v ^ ≥ 50 or v ^ < 0.01, the pull-off force has nothing to do with the unloading rate, but when 0.01 < v ^ < 50, the pull-off force increases with the increasing unloading rate. Also, it is controlled by the size effect, and the changing trend conforms to the MD-n model proposed by Jiang. The energy required for interfacial separation (i.e., effective adhesion work) is a result of the comprehensive influence of unloading rates, material properties and the relaxation effect, which is consistent with Papangelo1's research results. In addition, we derive the critical contact radius of the transition from the Kendall solution to the strength control solution. This work not only provides a detailed solution for the interfacial adhesion behavior but also provides guidance for the application of adhesion in Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMSs). Numerous boron-based molecular fluxional models, such as the Wankel motor, tank treads B11− and B10C, and the Earth–Moon system Be6B11−, have been widely recognized for their potential to develop molecular machines. From a series of tin-doped boron clusters SnBn− (n = 5–14), the half-sandwich structure SnB7− is found to possess high relative energy stability, and a HOMO–LUMO gap of 4.33 eV. This structure exhibits valence electron orbitals reminiscent of σ–π double aromatic compounds. The incorporation of tin effectively fills the doubly vacant π orbitals of its parent triplet B7−, thereby enhancing both magnetic shielding capabilities and range. Thermal bath tests demonstrate its significant dynamic stability, as the kinetic energy provided by thermal baths below 3800 K remains insufficient to disrupt its inherent elasticity. Additionally, transition state searches and intrinsic reaction coordinate analyses confirm that the tin atom migrates from the centre to the edge of the boron ligand surface, a phenomenon that can be observed in high-temperature thermal bath simulations. Objective response rate (ORR). Factors influencing survival rates were analyzed using Cox regression, and adverse events (AEs) were documented and assessed. Results: Before PSM, the T+L+P group showed significantly higher ORR (64.1% vs 44.4%, p < 0.05), longer median PFS (14.3 vs 9.6 months, p < 0.05), and longer median OS (24.6 vs 19.5 months, p < 0.05) compared to the L+P group. Even post-PSM, the T+L+P group showed significantly better OS and PFS compared to the L+P group (mOS: 28.0 vs 17.6 months p=0.0011, mPFS: 15.8 vs 9.3 months, p < 0.05). Univariate and multivariate analyses identified treatment options as independent factors for PFS and OS. Anchorene, identified as an endogenous bioactive carotenoid‐derived dialdehyde and diapocarotenoid, affects root development by modulating auxin homeostasis. However, the precise interaction between anchorene and auxin, as well as the mechanisms by which anchorene modulates auxin levels, remain largely elusive. In this study, we conducted a comparative analysis of anchorene's bioactivities alongside auxin and observed that anchorene induces multifaceted auxin‐like effects. Through genetic and pharmacological examinations, we revealed that anchorene's auxin‐like activities depend on the indole‐3‐pyruvate‐dependent auxin biosynthesis pathway, as well as the auxin inactivation pathway mediated by Group II Gretchen Hagen 3 (GH3) proteins that mainly facilitate the conjugation of indole‐3‐acetic acid (IAA) to amino acids, leading to the formation of inactivated storage forms. Our measurements indicated that anchorene treatment elevates IAA levels while reducing the quantities of inactivated IAA–amino acid conjugates and oxIAA. RNA sequencing further revealed that anchorene triggers the expression of numerous auxin‐responsive genes in a manner reliant on Group II GH3s. Additionally, our in vitro enzymatic assays and biolayer interferometry (BLI) assay demonstrated anchorene's robust suppression of GH3.17‐mediated IAA conjugation with glutamate. Collectively, our findings highlight the significant role of carotenoid‐derived metabolite anchorene in modulating auxin homeostasis, primarily through the repression of GH3‐mediated IAA conjugation and inactivation pathways, offering novel insights into the regulatory mechanisms of plant bioactive apocarotenoids. Electromagnetic (EM) metamaterials, with their unparalleled ability to manipulate EM waves, hold significant potential in various fields, including telemetric sensing, which enables wireless measurement of strain and displacement. This paper explores a type of wireless sensor based on spoof localized surface plasmons (SLSPs) that generate a resonant evanescent EM wave. When closely coupled, their transmission spectrum is highly sensitive to the distance between the resonators, facilitating near-field measurement of strain and deformation. The theoretical foundation for telemetric measurement using this type of metamaterials is discussed, and a series of tests were conducted for validation. The results indicate a sensitivity of 36 MHz/millimeter at an operating frequency of 4.3 GHz. Both sensors can also be fabricated using printed circuit board (PCB) techniques. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Protein is an important component of beer, and its type, content and molecular weight directly affect the quality of beer, especially the foam quality of beer. Different brands of wheat beer and barley beer available in the market were used for this analysis. The differences in protein composition and foam performance between multi-sample barley and wheat beer were analyzed using sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and high-pressure size exclusion chromatography. Protein significantly influences beer quality, particularly its foam properties. Wheat beer (WB) has 9.52–84.10% more total protein content than barley beer (BB). The primary proteins in both beers are 6.9–20.1 kDa, with WB having 1.04 g/L more of this protein, 60.11% higher than that of BB. It is one of the main different proteins between WB and BB. WB also contains 66.67% more 20.1–32.4 kDa protein compared to BB. This is one of the main differences between WB and BB proteins. Both 6.9–20.1 kDa and 20.1–32.4 kDa proteins enhance beer viscosity and foam properties. Additionally, WB's > 32.4 kDa protein content is 246.67% higher than BB's, significantly improving beer hydrophobicity and foam performance. Electrochemical discharge machining (ECDM) is an essential process for microstructure fabrication of difficult-to-machine materials. Currently, there are various kinds of ECDM, and plasma-assisted electrochemical machining (PA-ECM) is a new and promising ECDM proposed in recent years. However, the differences between electrolytic plasma discharge and conventional spark discharge are unclear. Therefore, this study aims to systematically explain the evolvement mechanism and characteristics of these two kinds of discharge. From the phenomenology, the electrolytic plasma discharge is saffron color determined by electrolyte and wrapped at the entire immersion surface of the tool electrode, while the spark discharge is white color and only excited at the end of the tool electrode. Electrolytic plasma discharge is generated preferentially to spark discharge and easily transforms to spark discharge in high electric field strength such as large applied voltage or small inter-electrode gap. The discharge energy and emission spectrum of spark discharge are more significant than that of electrolytic plasma discharge. Especially, the electrolytic plasma discharge does not cause any tool electrode wear due to the low discharge energy (discharge current of about 0.5 A), and the resulted surface of the workpiece is smooth. On the contrary, the spark discharge energy is high (discharge current about 9 A), which causes noticeable tool electrode wear and leaves discharge craters and thermal damage on the workpiece surface. Considering the obvious flushing effect of bubble flow during plasma ignition, PA-ECM is an ideal method for functional surface micro-dimple array fabrication without using tube central spray and workpiece mask. Thermally chargeable supercapacitors can collect low‐grade heat generated by the human body and convert it into electricity as a power supply unit for wearable electronics. However, the low Seebeck coefficient and heat‐to‐electricity conversion efficiency hinder further application. In this paper, we designed a high‐performance thermally chargeable supercapacitor device composed of ZnMn2O4@Ti3C2Tx MXene composites (ZMO@Ti3C2Tx MXene) electrode and UIO‐66 metal–organic framework doped multichannel polyvinylidene fluoridehexafluoro‐propylene ionogel electrolyte, which realized the thermoelectric conversion and electrical energy storage at the same time. This thermally chargeable supercapacitor device exhibited a high Seebeck coefficient of 55.4 mV K−1, thermal voltage of 243 mV, and outstanding heat‐to‐electricity conversion efficiency of up to 6.48% at the temperature difference of 4.4 K. In addition, this device showed excellent charge–discharge cycling stability at high‐temperature differences (3 K) and low‐temperature differences (1 K), respectively. Connecting two thermally chargeable supercapacitor units in series, the generated output voltage of 500 mV further confirmed the stability of devices. After the COVID-19 pandemic, fever clinics urgently require rapid nucleic acid tests to enhance their capacity for timely pathogen detection. This study evaluated the analytical performance and clinical utility of the Flash10 SARS-CoV-2 point-of-care test (Flash10 POCT) for detecting SARS-CoV-2 in patients with fever in the adult fever clinic in Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital from August 1 to August 30, 2023. The analytical performance and clinical utility of the Flash10 POCT for detecting SARS-CoV-2 were assessed in 125 patients with fever syndrome in the adult fever clinic. The Flash10 POCT demonstrated an analytical precision of 3.1% for the Ct values of the ORF1ab gene and 2.9% for the Ct values of the N gene in SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid testing. Furthermore, the Flash10 POCT demonstrated a lower limit of detection (LoD) of 100 copies/mL, with no detected aerosol contamination leakage. Of the 125 patients (median age 61.9 years, 52% male and 48% female), both the Flash10 POCT and RT-PCR tests yielded positive results for 100 patients and negative results for 25 patients (Fisher's exact test, p < 0.0001). The median turn-around-time for the Flash10 POCT was significantly shorter, at 1.05 h, compared to 16.15 h required for RT-PCR tests (Wilcoxon signed rank test, p < 0.0001). The Flash10 POCT showed high analytical performance, achieving a 100% detection rate for SARS-CoV-2 compared to RT-PCR tests, while also exhibiting a significantly shorter turn-around-time. (1) Background: Exploring the relationship between spontaneous breathing patterns and aerobic and anerobic running exercise performance can greatly improve our understanding of optimizing physical fitness. Spontaneous breathing patterns refer to how the rhythm and depth of breathing affect performance and physical adaptation during exercise. (2) Methods: This study aimed to investigate this relationship by enrolling 240 college students (120 males and 120 females, aged 18–22). We evaluated their resting respiratory rate (RR), the combined total of abdominal and thoracic movements (AM+TM), the proportion of abdominal movement to the overall respiratory movement (AM/(AM+TM)), and the inhalation to exhalation ratio (I/E ratio). Additionally, their performance in a 50 m sprint (measuring anerobic capability), an 800- or 1000 m run (assessing mixed aerobic and anerobic capacity), and a 12 min distance run (evaluating aerobic capacity) was recorded. (3) Results: Our findings, through both correlational and comparative analyses, indicate that a larger AM+TM is predictive of a greater distance covered in the 12 min run, suggesting enhanced aerobic capacity. Interestingly, among female participants, a lower body mass index (BMI) coupled with a higher proportion of abdominal movement (AM/(AM+TM)) was linked to better performance in the 800 m run, indicative of superior mixed aerobic and anerobic capacities. These results imply that women with a larger tidal volume and those with a lower BMI but higher abdominal contribution to breathing at rest may exhibit better aerobic and mixed exercise capacities, respectively. (4) Conclusions: Based on these findings, we recommend that healthcare professionals and physical education instructors incorporate respiratory pattern assessments into their practices to potentially improve the physical health of their clients and students, with a particular emphasis on female populations. The swnN gene in the endophytic fungus Alternaria oxytropis OW 7.8 isolated from Oxytropis glabra was identified, and the gene knockout mutant ΔswnN was first constructed in this study. Compared with A. oxytropis OW 7.8, the ΔswnN mutant exhibited altered colony and mycelia morphology, slower growth rate, and no swainsonine (SW) in mycelia. SW was detected in the gene function complementation strain ΔswnN/swnN, indicating that the function of the swnN gene promoted SW biosynthesis. Six differentially expressed genes (DEGs) closely associated with SW synthesis were identified by transcriptomic analysis of A. oxytropis OW 7.8 and ΔswnN, with P5CR, swnR, swnK, swnH2, and swnH1 down-regulating, and sac up-regulating. The expression levels of the six genes were consistent with the transcriptomic analysis results. Five differential metabolites (DEMs) closely associated with SW synthesis were identified by metabolomic analysis, with L-glutamate, α-ketoglutaric acid, and L-proline up-regulating, and phosphatidic acid (PA) and 2-aminoadipic acid down-regulating. The SW biosynthetic pathways in A. oxytropis OW 7.8 were predicted and refined. The results lay the foundation for in-depth elucidation of molecular mechanisms and the SW synthesis pathway in fungi. They are also of importance for the prevention of locoism in livestock, the control and utilization of locoweeds, and the protection and sustainable development of grassland ecosystems.
