This study examined the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) -pedagogy integration awareness and competencies of faculty membersof a teacher education institution (TEI). Descriptive research methodwas employed through the use of survey questionnaire to collect data.Fifty (50) faculty membersserved as respondentsin this study.Most of the respondents perceived themselves to be extremely aware of utilizing ICT tools/ equipment and moderately aware of using application software despite reporting that they were self-taught in acquiring basic ICT skills. They were also found to be proficient in terms of level of competency in integration. It was also discovered that mostareas of their competency were significantly related to respondents’ awareness in using ICT. This paper suggests that higher education institutions should devise innovative teacher training programs that will increase the ICT pedagogy awareness and integration of teacher education faculty members.

Es un programa de convivencia para la prevención de la violencia y el acoso escolar. Es institucional e implica a toda la comunidad educativa. Se orienta a mejorar la integración escolar y trabajar por una escuela inclusiva y no violenta, fomentando que las relaciones entre iguales sean más satisfactorias. Se dirige a la mejora o modificación del clima y la cultura del centro respecto a la convivencia, conflicto y violencia (física, emocional o psicológica). Se basa en la tutorización emocional entre iguales, en el que el alumnado dos años mayores son tutores/as de alumnos y alumnas dos años más pequeños. El respeto, la empatía y el compromiso son los pilares básicos de su desarrollo en los centros educativos: El programa TEI inicia su desarrollo teórico y estructural en el año 1999 a partir de la idea original de Andrés González Bellido; y su aplicación en centros educativos en el curso 2002-2003. Actualmente es el programa de mayor implementación a nivel español (por centros que lo aplican, por profesorado formado y por alumnos implicados) y uno de los primeros a nivel mundial. Actualmente está implantado en centros de Primaria, Secundaria y Educación Especial, Educación Infantil, Formación Profesional Básica y Ciclos formativos de Grado Medio. Algunas cifras orientativas del Programa (2021): 1.500 centros de Infantil, Primaria, ESO y Educación Especial 45.000 profesores/as formados/as presencialmente por el Programa TEI. 50.000 profesores/as participan en el programa. 2.300.000 alumnos/as se han formado con la metodología TEI desde su inicio. 300.000 nuevos/as alumnos/as TEI se incorporan en septiembre de 2021 100% de alumnado del centro participa en el Programa Evidencias Científicas de resultados, el programa TEI, es uno de los pocos programas sobre prevención de violencia y acoso escolar. Realizado por Universidad de Alicante, en centros de educación primaria y secundaria, con grupo experimental y control, Pre-Test y Post-Test, con un diseño cuasi-experimental, con una muestra cercana a los 4.000 alumnos/as.Como síntesis de conclusiones se producen mejoras significatives en las variables evaluadas, especialmente en agresiones físicas y ciberacoso con una reducción del 52% y del 28% respectivamente. En la comunicación se expondrán las bases teóricas, las metodologías del programa, así como el proceso de implementación y desarrollo en los centros educativos y ciudades TEI.

The present study aims to outline a conceptual framework with a view to the scholarly digital publishing of Eminescu's literary works. In the first part, we analyze the arguments formulated by Petru Cre?ia in Testamentul unui eminescolog and introduce three methodological principles that could serve for a new division of the material, the integration of technical solutions and the design of interface functions. In the second part, we present the arguments for dividing the early texts into two categories, corresponding to the two major sequences of Eminescu's biography: a first phase, between 1866 and 1883, encompassing full creativity, and a second phase, covering the period 1883-1889, from the onset of his illness until his death. Then, we highlight the symbolic importance of the last poem published before his breakdown. Indeed, Doina is an emblematic text for Eminescu's creativity, but it has generally been occulted by the exegesis for ideological reasons. The third part of this article is devoted to a case study: aligning the verses of Doina in TEI xml, highlighting the technical problems resulting from the collation of several sources (Perpessicius edition, facsimile) and illustrating the problems of transcription. Objective: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and cardiac catheterization are diagnostic tools for right ventricle dysfunction (RVD), but those are expensive and often unavailable techniques. Thus, our objective was to identify clinical and/or echocardiographic variables capable of predicting a catheterization-based diagnosis of RVD.Design: This was cross-sectional, diagnostic test accuracy study, considering the catheterization-based diagnosis of RVD as the gold standard.Patients: Pediatric patients with non-repaired CHD with overload pressure were evaluated. Clinical variables (edema and functional class), transthoracic echocardiography (right heart dimensions, systolic and diastolic function, Doppler velocities), and cardiac catheterization (pressures and right ventricle systolic work measurements) were obtained during the same hospitalization.Results: We included 253 patients with tetralogy of Fallot (39.9%), pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect (33.9%), type C Ebstein's anomaly (15.8%), or pulmonary stenosis (10.4%). Among clinical (vascular congestion, functional class derangement) and echocardiographic (indexed right ventricle diameter, fractional area change, tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion, S' wave, Tei index) variables, the Tei index (defined as the ratio of isovolumetric contraction time to ejection time) was the sole variable that exhibited high diagnostic capability, with 98.5% sensitivity, 97.4% specificity, 97.8% positive predictive value, and 98.3% negative predictive value, with 98.0% overall performance. Multivariate logistic regression confirmed that Tei index alone predicted the catheterization-based diagnosis of RVD.Conclusions: Tei index is the best parameter that can be employed for the non-invasive identification of RVD in patients with CHD.

Michel Foucault notices that “heterotopias always presuppose a system of opening and closing that both isolates and makes them penetrable, […] [they are] not freely accessible like a public place,”(Foucault 26) but the “individual has to submit to certain rites” and their inhabitants feel “sheltered, […] hidden, and isolated without being allowed out in the open.” (Foucault 26-27) Since hotels are erected in almost every American city and they may also belong to the category of non-places (using Marc Auge’s terminology), the aim of the present article is to shed some light upon the construction of the hotel as a heterotopic site and a non-place in the San Francisco-set novel I Hotel (2010) written by the Asian American writer Karen Tei Yamashita. In this context, the present article also touches upon the question whether the adopted country should be perceived by the immigrants who are ‘on route to assimilation’ as a host country or as a hotel country.

Background: Cardiac dysfunction is the major cause of morbidity and mortality in diabetes. Myocardial Performance Index (MPI/Tei Index) includes both systolic and diastolic time intervals to assess the global cardiac dysfunction. Our aim was to assess the MPI in patients with type 2 diabetes. Material and methods: This hospital-based analytic observational study was performed in the tertiary care center. The conventional Doppler parameters, tissue Doppler-derived E/E′ and MPI, were measured in all patients. Results: 100 patients with type 2 diabetes were included in the study. 65 patients showed diastolic dysfunction, 33 with Grade I diastolic dysfunction, 23 with Grade II diastolic dysfunction, and 14 patients with Grade III diastolic dysfunction. The conventional Doppler showed abnormality in 44% of patients (33 patients with Grade I and 14 patient with Grade III). 23 patients were in Grade II diastolic dysfunction (12 patients showed reversal E/A on valsalva maneuver and 11 patients showed abnormality in tissue Doppler-derived E/E′, E/E′ > 15). MPI with cut-off 0.36 was found to have 94% sensitivity, 100 specificity, and 94% PPV for the detection of cardiac dysfunction. MPI negatively correlated with systolic dysfunction (rho = 0.455, p

Objectives: To evaluate echocardiographic parameters, especially the Tei index as a predictor of outcome in critically ill children on continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Methods: This cohort study included all critically ill patients admitted at the Pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and underwent CRRT. Functional echocardiography and Pediatric Risk of Mortality Index (PRISM) III were used to evaluate the participants. Both the Tei index and the Vasoactive inotropic score (VIS) were estimated. Results: The study included 35 patients with an age range of 6 mo to 14 y. The Tei indexes, VIS, and PRISM III were reported as predictors of mortality with a sensitivity of 88%, 83%, and 94% and a specificity of 73%, 79%, and 89% respectively. In survivors, the mean Tei index score, median VIS, and mean PRISM values were 0.44 ± 0.1, 3.8 (0–40), and 12.06 ± 3.35, respectively. However, in non-survivors, the mean Tei index, median VIS, and mean PRISM score were 0.59 ± 0.16, 0.60 (0–342.5), and 22.94 ± 8.93, respectively.
