Na przykładzie doświadczeń Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej w Toruniu autor zwraca uwagę na możliwości, jakie daje integracja centralnych baz (NUKat, baza ISBN) z bazą lokalnej biblioteki. Analizie zostały poddane trzy istotne z punktu widzenia prac związanych z pozyskiwaniem druków zwartych aspekty działalności biblioteki naukowej: automatyzacja wybranych czynności gromadzenia, badanie preferencji czytelników biblioteki, monitoring działalności wydawniczej na terenie Polski. Przy omawianiu każdego z wyżej wymienionych aspektów autor przedstawia wpływ na organizację pracy, możliwości i bariery w wykorzystaniu danych pochodzących z baz zewnętrznych, efekty jakie przyniosła integracja lokalnego systemu z bazami centralnymi.

The target of my dissertation is to draw the character of the graphical works created by Jan Jiří Balzer which are kept in the collections of the National gallery in Prague. The resource of the graphical works of J. J. Balzer according to Norbert Grund includes more than five hundred and fifty items which remained almost non-elaborated. That's why, I would try to sort out and catalogue them. Beyond my dissertation, I would like to introduce a personality of the contemporary artist who is at the time the founder of an engraving plant and a successful businessman - who managed to interest the Czech graphical market of the second half of the 18-th century. As well as, I try to clarify, on base of the critical studying of available sources and literature, the circumstances which lead the artist to the graphical performance of the Norbert Grund's painting works. And last but not least I would like to outline the production of Jan Jiří Balzer in context of the contemporary creation and collecting of the 18-th century.

Automatic publication of data and metadata for map and catalogue systems from raster sources in PostgreSQL Abstract The main goal of the presented work is the design and implementation of the application for the automatic publication of the raster data and metadata from the PostgreSQL database to the map and catalog services. The application should exclusively utilize the open source software and technologies. The fundamental component of the developed application is the PostgreSQL database with the PostGIS and PostGIS raster extensions. The presented work evaluates the possibilities of the raster storage from different points of view -e.g. the suitability for the further data processing or the publication of the raster data. The most suitable structure for raster storage is then proposed with respect to analytical and publication usage of the stored data. The possibilities of the open source software for the solution and implementation of the presented problem are then inspected. The GeoNetwork and GeoServer are utilized as a metadata and map server solution. The results of the deployment of these technologies is then evaluated for the real world data and compared with other available related solutions. This bachelor thesis is focused on the donation of books to the Capuchin library in Sušice made by František Trachta. It is registered in the catalog of Gotthard Tesar from the years 1875-1876. Comprehensive analysis of the gift was preceded by the complete transliteration of the list of the donated books from the nineteen sentury german cursive scripture. Each of the individual chapters in the bachelor thesis describes all historical and factual information related to the donation. The project is conceived on the basis of historical documents and preserved archival materials, which could be obtained for inspection. All recorded information is introduced and explained as accurately as possible to avoid any speculations. The well known studies of Prof. Václav Bok and Prof. Antonín Janák were used as a base of the research and became supports of the so far untreated subject.

U studenom 2012. godine u splitskoj Galeriji umjetnina predstavljen je katalog projekta Utorkom u Galeriji – Fast Forward. Riječ je o ciklusu jednodnevnih izložaba studenata Umjetničke akademije u Splitu koje su tekstovima popratili studenti povijesti umjetnosti Filozofskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Splitu. Voditelji projekta su Božo Majstorović i Vedran Perkov.

Rapporten innehåller inledningsvis en faktadel med allmän information kring temperatursprickor i betong. Här presenteras bl a uppkomsten av fenomenet, vilka typer av sprickor som förekommer och vad ett tvång är. Tanken är att ge läsaren tillräcklig kunskap för att kunna förstå sig på de övriga delarna i rapporten. Resultatet och det huvudsakliga arbetet redovisas i form av tabeller med tillhörande illustrationer där det går att utläsa vilken sprickrisk som förekommer vid flera specifika fall och vilken åtgärd som bör vidtas för att eliminera sprickrisken. Som konstruktör kan du med din egen indata, dvs. dimensioner och temperaturer, följa tabellen och finna resultatet för ditt specifika fall. De konstruktionstyper som presenteras är bottenplatta, stödmur och plattrambro. En tillhörande databas i elektronisk form finns tillgänglig som en bilaga där varje beräknat fall är sparat. Filerna är enkla att modifiera för att göra det möjligt att genomföra ytterliggare beräkningar i de fall tabellerna är otillräckliga. Rapporten innehåller även ett avsnitt med förutsättningar till tabellerna där det går att utläsa arbetsgången och vilka parametrar som har använts. The initial part of the report contains general information about thermal cracks. This section describes the origin to the cracks, what type of cracks that occurs and the force causing the problem. The major reason with this chapter is to give the reader enough knowledge to understand the rest of the report. The result and the main work are presented in tables with belonging illustrations. Each table contains the risk of cracking that occurs in several specific concrete structures and how to eliminate the risk. The report covers the following three types of structures: baseplate, retaining wall and integral bridge. The constructor can with his/her own dimensions and temperatures simply use the table to find the risk of cracking. A database including all the calculated files for each specific case is attached to the report. The files can easily be modified by the user in case the information in the tables is insufficient. All the precise circumstances and priority in the project are presented in the chapter “Förutsättningar och arbetsgång”.

Onlinekataloge erlauben den Nutzern den Zugang zum Bestand einer Bibliothek; Normdaten bilden darin die Grundlage für zwei wesentliche Sucheinstiege: Die Recherche nach Personen und die inhaltliche Suche mit Schlagwörtern. Benutzeranalysen zeigen erwartungsgemäß, dass dies nach den Titelstichwörtern die am häufigsten gestellten Suchanfragen sind. Es wird aber auch deutlich, dass in beiden Fällen die Wahrscheinlichkeit eines Nulltreffer-Ergebnisses, d.h. das Scheitern der Suche, sehr hoch ist. Normdaten sollen eine effektive Recherche ermöglichen – aber wie effektiv gestaltet sich diese Recherche für den Benutzer tatsächlich? Als bibliothekarische Dienstleistung richtet sich der Onlinekatalog an den Nutzer, er sollte sich demnach an dessen Bedürfnissen und Kenntnissen orientieren. Viele Suchanfragen bei Recherchen mit Normdaten führen ins Leere, weil dem Benutzer die formalen Eingabevoraussetzungen ebenso fremd sind wie die der Erschließung zugrunde liegenden bibliothekarischen Regeln. Es zeigt sich auch, dass die Umsetzung neuer Recherchemöglichkeiten mit Normdaten alleine nicht genügt, auch die Darstellung im OPAC muss beim Vorwissen der Nutzer ansetzen. Diese erwerben ihre Recherchekompetenz vor allem bei Suchmaschinen wie Google, so dass Fachterminologie oder Unübersichtlichkeit im Onlinekatalog nur zusätzlich verwirren. Anhand verschiedener Anwendungsbeispiele soll der Vortrag zeigen, welche Probleme sich dem Benutzer bei der Recherche mit Normdaten stellen, aber auch, wie das Potential der Normdaten in Onlinekatalogen noch besser genutzt werden kann.

Currently there is a lot of enterprise middleware platforms based on SOAP-oriented webservices. However common message oriented middleware does not fully satisfy the need of integration small to middle sized services keeping the expenses reasonably low. The main goal of this thesis is to provide the analysis, and achitecture of a catalog for REST based webservices and to provide implementation at least for the purpose of practical examples. This catalog should enable it's users the publication of REST webservices, their categorization, searching, sharing and providing metainformation and therefore providing support for the deployment process, propagation, maintanance and further development and therefore lead to higher standarization of these services. The system should be percieved as a proof of concept of support system of a RESTful MOM.

Porodica Elateridae vrlo je brojna porodica reda Coleoptera. Podijeljena je u 12 – 15 potporodica, sa 37 ili više tribusa, podijeljenih u oko 750 rodova, te broji oko 10.000 vrsta. U Europi su opisane 672 vrste razvrstane u 90 rodova. Sustavno faunističko istraživanje porodice Elateridae u Hrvatskoj nije do danas provedeno, no postoje podaci o primjercima kukaca u entomološkim zbirkama kao i navodi o nalazu pojedinih vrsta u faunističkim radovima. Vrste porodice Elateridae nalazimo u tri dostupne entomološke zbirke kornjaša: Košćeca, Hensch-a i Novaka, a podatke o vrstama u faunističkim radovima brojnih autora. Na temelju pregleda faunističkih radova i pregleda dostupnih entomoloških zbirki sačinjen je prvi cjeloviti katalog vrsta porodice Elateridae u Hrvatskoj. Cjeloviti katalog vrsta porodice Elateridae u Hrvatskoj trenutno obuhvaća 171 vrstu razvrstanu u 59 rodova. Šest je vrsta poznato samo u Hrvatskoj: Elathous impressifrons (Hampe, 1866) ; Athous novaki Penecke, 1907 ; Athous croaticus Platia & Gudenzi, 2002 ; Athous dalmatinus Platia, 2005 ; Athous gracacensis Platia, 2005 ; Athous monguzzii Platia & Gudenzi, 2007. U Hrvatskoj je utvrđeno 4 puta manje vrsta u odnosu na broj vrsta u Europi. Broj rodova u Hrvatskoj samo je 1, 5 puta manji u odnosu na Europu, što potvrđuje veliku raznolikost vrsta. Postoje neke zbirke (poput zbirke Weingärtner i zbirke Koča u Hrvatskom prirodoslovnom muzeju u Zagrebu) u kojima vrste iz porodice Elateridae nisu obrađene, tako da nisu uključene u ovaj katalog. Njihovo uključivanje u katalog zasigurno bi povećalo broj postojećih vrsta.

U znanstvenom magistarskom radu izrađena je baza podataka ukrasnih golosjemenjača koje se uzgajaju i pogodne su za sadnju u kontinentalnom i mediteranskom dijelu Hrvatske, korištenjem računalnog programa Microsoft Access (2003). Digitalna baza podataka sadržava podatke o morfološkim obilježjima i ekološkim zahtjevima 306 ukrasnih vrsta, podvrsta, varijeteta, križanaca i kultivara golosjemenjača. Vrijednost izrađene baze je što se na osnovi zadanih kriterija, odnosno kombinacije različitih svojstava, može jednostavno i brzo doći do užeg izbora biljaka za sadnju u nekom urbanom prostoru. To znači da se korištenjem ove baze projektantima olakšava konačni izbor ukrasnih golosjemenjača, a osim njih, baza je namijenjena širem krugu korisnika, s različitim dendrološkim znanjem. Biljke su pri tome promatrane kao oblikovni element u prostoru, odnosno kroz svoj vanjski izgled, a važno je da su u bazu uključeni i podaci o njihovim biološkim osobinama i ekološkim zahtjevima. Važan dio baze podataka čine fotografije svake od svojti, koje krajnjem korisniku dodatno olakšavaju odabir biljaka prema postavljenom estetskom kriteriju, odnosno korisnik može doći do skupa željenih biljaka, a zatim dalje taj skup sužavati koristeći bogati fond drugih podataka, uključujući i podatke o ekološkim zahtjevima. Podaci u bazi lako su dostupni, moguće ih je jednostavno dopunjavati, mijenjati i pregledavati putem izvještaja ili izravno. Oni čine osnovu za izradu širokog spektra izvješća poput kataloga ili tablica s odabranim karakteristikama prema zadanim kritrijima. Baza podataka je u digitalnom zapisu i nije ju moguće vizualno prikazati, osim u obliku kataloga, kao što je to napravljeno u ovome radu. Stoga, u rezultatima istraživanja najveći dio zauzima katalog 306 ukrasnih svojti golosjemenjača, kreiran iz baze podataka. Katalog je izrađen kao glavno izvješće koje prikazuje sve obrađene svojte. Osim kataloga, na osnovi tipiziranih podataka moguće je formirati tablične prikaze svojti grupirane prema zadanim kriterijima, a kao primjer formirana su dva tablična prikaza, prema obliku krošnje i prema boji listova. Bazu podataka kreiranu u ovome radu prvenstveno treba koristiti u digitalnom obliku.

Facta Architectonica 1 – Academic Volumes 2000- 2011 zbornik je radova nastavnog osoblja Arhitektonskog fakulteta u Zagrebu, nastalih u proteklom desetljeću. Kataloški preglednik radova, od kojih je pojedini dokumentiran grafičkim prilozima i autorskim osvrtom na kontekstualna i konceptualna polazišta, obogaćen je poglavljem „Interviews“, gdje se kroz dijaloge s eminentnim profesorima Arhitektonskog fakulteta nastoji potaknuti rasprava o raznolikim stručnim temama, polazištima i pitanjima, te paralelno razmotriti ustrojstvo, promjene i razvoj obrazovnog sustava zagrebačkog Arhitektonskog fakulteta i hrvatske arhitekture općenito. Publikacija sadrži i dodatne priloge: studentske radove i biografije autora publiciranih radova, a pridonosi široj javnosti u kontekstu razmatranja hrvatske arhitektonske prakse i njezinom odnosu spram aktualnoj socio- prostornoj problematici.

Aplikacija omogućuje efikasnu evidenciju sigurnosne arhive video materijala.

Zum 200. Todesjahr des Dichters: die Schweiz als Ausgangspunkt von Kleists dichterischem Schaffen. Katalog zur Ausstellung »Kleist und die Schweiz«: 25.5. - 4.9.2011 Thuner Schlossmuseum, 21.9. - 27.11.2011 Museum Strauhof Zürich, 25.2. - 25.11.2012 Kleist-Museum Frankfurt/Oder. Am 10. Oktober 1801 schrieb Heinrich von Kleist (1777-1811) an seine Verlobte Wilhelmine von Zenge, dass er beabsichtige, »in der Schweiz einen Bauernhof zu kaufen« und »Landmann« im Geiste Rousseaus zu werden. Das Delosea-Inseli beim Thuner See sollte die neue gemeinsame Heimat werden. Dies blieb zwar letztlich einer der vielen unverwirklichten Träume im Leben Kleists - als Schriftsteller aber erlebte er in Thun eine ausgesprochen produktive Phase: Sein Erstling »Die Familie Schroffenstein« erschien anonym 1803; im geselligen Austausch mit den Freunden Heinrich Gessner und Ludwig Wieland legte Kleist zudem den Grundstock für seine berühmte Komödie »Der zerbrochne Krug«. Der Katalog dokumentiert die für Kleists dichterischen Werdegang so außerordentlich bedeutsame Zeit in der Schweiz in vielfältiger Weise. Lebens­weltliche Aspekte werden dabei ebenso berücksichtigt wie Facetten der Werkgenese. Ein besonderes Augenmerk gilt der kreativen Rezeption von Kleists Schweizer Aufenthalten, wie sie sich im Werk Robert Walsers ebenso spiegelt wie in den »Penthesilea«-Kompositionen Othmar Schoecks.

Katalog izložbe u povodu 300. obljetnice rođenja Ruđera Josipa Boškovića, održane na Geodetskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, 11.4.-11.6.2011.

U suradnji sa Hrvatskom maticom iseljenika u Zagrebu dizajnirao katalog i plakat za veliku izložbu povodom110. Obljetnice rođenja slikara Kristiana Krekovića ( Moderana galerija i Etnografski muzej).

Zusammenfassung Diese Studie beschäftigt sich mit den Frauenfrisuren der griechischen Antike. Obwohl sie nicht ganz anders als moderne Frisuren sind, ziehen sie unsere Aufmerksamkeit auf sich wegen ihrer Vielfältigkeit und des sich im Laufe der Zeit ständig verändernden Charakters. Markante Typen lassen sich unterscheiden, welche sich in zahlreichen Artefakten und Denkmälergattungen verfolgen lassen: die Haarkranz -, die Schopf-, die Scheitelknoten- und die Melonenfrisur Zum besseren Verständnis werden diese vier Haupttypen entsprechenderweise in Vier Kapiteln behandelt. In chronologischer Hinsicht reichen sie vom 5. Jh. v. Chr. bis in die späthellenistische Zeit. Zum Zweck der genauen chronologischen Bestimmung wird jedes Kapitel in drei Abschnitte unterteilt: Münzen, Reliefs und Großplastik. Die numismatischen Belege bieten den notwendigen terminus post quem, was von weiteren Kunstgattungen bestätigt wird. Interessanterweise sind alle oben genannten Frisuren tief in der klassischen und spätklassischen Tradition verwurzelt. Die neueste unter ihnen ist die Melonenfrisur, deren Anfänge unmittelbar nach der Mitte des 4. Jh. v. Chr. zu datieren sind. Die früheste ist die Haarkranzfrisur, welche in die Zeit des Strengen Stils zurückgeführt werden kann. Die Gesamtuntersuchung der archäologischen Belege verleiht Einblicke in Deutungsfragen. Die Ikonographie, die Funktion und der Kontext der Figuren werden in den Focus der Untersuchung gerückt und fördern das Verständnis für die Frisuren als Träger der sozialen Identität. Kunsthistorische, archäologische und methodologische Aspekte formen den besonderen Charakter dieser Studie. Es ist zum Beispiel war, dass das bauschig vor der Stirn aus hochgenommene Haar genauso von jüngeren und älteren, noch nicht verheirateten und schon verheirateten Frauen getragen wurde. Es ist bemerkenswert, dass Frisuren schon sehr früh eine Rolle gespielt haben, um junge heiratsfähige Mädchen hervorzuheben. Diese luxuriösen und festlichen Frisuren haben in morphologischer Hinsicht folgende Merkmale gemeinsam: die Fülle des Haarwuchses, die Stirnbetonung, die Zöpfe. Eirene von Kephisodot zeigt das Phänomen der Erfindung einer neuene Frisur für eine jugendlichen Göttin, die für die Kultbedürfnisse als solche wahrzunehmen war. Den langen Zopf im Nacken wurde für Göttinnen und sterbliche Frauen gleichermaßen verwendet. Aber der Akzent wurde auf die Mädchen im Heiratsalter gelegt. Trotz der zahlreichen Beispiele, die von der Frühklassik bis zum Späthellenismus reichen, sind die Koren von Erechtheion besonders hervorzuheben. Die Schopffrisur wurde ab dem späten 5. Jh. v. Chr. nicht nur für jugendliche Göttinnen wie Nymphen, Nike und Artemis, sondern auch für kleine Mädchen – immer noch Kinder – und Frauen im heiratsfähigen Alter verwendet. Die Scheitelknotenfrisur und die Melonenfrisur sollten als Endeffekt des kontinuierlich wachsenden Anteils von Frauen in der Repräsentationskunst während des 4. Jh. v. Chr. gedacht werden. Die Spätklassik markiert einen Wendepunkt für die Geschichte der griechischen Frauenporträts. Mädchen im heiratsfähigen Alter von renommierten Familien werden öffentlich durch Weih- und Grabstatuen geehrt. Gesten, Haltung, Kleidung wie auch Frisur bieten den Mädchen eine exklusive Ikonographie an. Die Scheitelknotenfrisur wird schon früh bei jugendlichen Göttinnen bevorzugt. Aber im Frühhellenismus wird sie zur typischen Frisur der Aphrodite. Die Melonenfrisur erscheint an erster Stelle im Zusammenhang mit Ehren- und Grabbildnissen. Es fehlt nicht an Darstellungen von jugendlichen Göttinnen mit Melonenfrisur. Sie erreicht ihren Höhepunkt mit den Ptolemäerporträts des 3. Jh. v. Chr., als sie zum Ideologie- und Propagandaträger wird. Die vorliegende Studie bietet auch neue Erkenntnisse über die Frage der antiken Terminologie zu Frisuren. Die Annahme, dass „Krobylos“ die typische Aphrodite- und Apollonfrisur, bezeichnet, wird in Frage gestellt. Das Wort stand an erster Stelle für eine männliche Frisur, die schon zur Zeit des Thukydides und Aristophanes altmodisch war. In der Spätklassik und im Hellenismus wird der Haarknoten im allgemeinen Krobylos benannt. Mit der Melonenfrisur ist die „διάκρισις“ der antiken Texte in Verbindung zu bringen. Die kontroversen und vielfältigen Belege im Zusammenhang mit der kontextbezogenen Befundanalyse führen zu einem aspektreichen ikonographischen Ergebnis. Es handelt sich um eine Geschmacksgeschichte um einige Aspekte der griechischen Antike. Dem Lester, der mit der römischen Kunst vertraut ist, bietet sie sich als Werkzeug zum besseren Verständnis der Anfänge morphologischer Phänomen der römischen Kaiserzeit., Summary This study deals with the hairstyles of women in Greek antiquity. Although they are not that different from modern hairstyles, they attract our attention as they are numerous and have definitely changed in the course of time. The striking types that existed can be traced in numerous artifacts and monuments. For a better understanding of them, they are conveniently categorized in four main types, which accounts for the division of the study in four main chapters: the wreath-like coiffure, the pony-tail, the bow-knot and the melon-coiffure. Chronologically they range from the 5th century B. C. into late Hellenistic times. For the purposes of an accurate positioning in time each chapter was divided into three large sections: coins, reliefs and plastic in the round. The coins offer the necessary terminus post quem which is confirmed by the large scale art. Interestingly, all the hair styles mentioned above are deeply rooted in the Classical and late Classical tradition. Latest among them is the melon-coiffure, whose beginnings should be placed a little after the middle of the 4th century. The earliest is the wreath-like coiffure that can be traced back to the Severe Style. The overall examination of the archaeological evidence offers insights into possible meanings. The iconography, the function and the context of the figures are in the focus of investigation and form the tools for the understanding of the coiffures as social identification marcs. The nature of this study is thus art historical, archaeological and methodological. Whereas it is for example true that the wreath-like hairstyle swept up from the forehead that bouncy frames the face was conveniently worn without distinction by young and old, by unmarried and married women, it should be noted that hairstyles have from a very early time played an ingenious role in order to differentiate young girls of marriageable status. These luxurious and festival hair styles morphologically have the following features in common: the abundance of hair growth, the accentuation of the forehead, the plaits. Eirene of Kephisodot demonstrates nicely the phenomenon of the invention of a new hairstyle for a youthful goddess that for the needs of cult practice was meant to be perceived as such. The long braid at the nape of the neck was used for goddesses and mortal women alike. But the accent is placed on the status of the unmarried girl. Although the examples are numerous and range from early Classical to Late Hellenistic Times, prominently among them figure the Korai of the Erechtheion. The pony tail appears since the late 4th century not only for youthful goddesses like Nymphs, Nike and Artemis, but also for small girls – still children – and women in marriageable age. The bow knot and the melon coiffure should be thought of as the result of the continuously growing representation of women in the public sphere during the 4th century B. C. The late Classical period marks a turning point for the female Greek portraiture. Girls of marriageable age from renowned families are publicly recognized through votives and grave statues. Gestures, pose, costume, coiffure no less than inscriptions offer the young individuals an exclusive iconography. The bow knot coiffure is adequately appreciated early enough for young goddesses. But it would become famous as the typical hairstyle of Aphrodite in Hellenistic times. The melon-coiffure makes its appearance primarily as a portrait hair style in honorific or grave representation but also with representations of young goddesses. But the culmination is to be found in the Ptolemaic portraiture of the 3rd century B. C., when the melon coiffure will function as communicator of ideological and propagandistic messages. The present study also offers new insights on the question of the ancient terminology. So the assumption that “Krobylos” is to be associated with the typically Aphrodite and Apollon hairstyle is seriously questioned. The first meaning of the name was a man’s hairstyle that at the time of Thucydides and Aristophanes was already considered old-fashioned. In late Classical and Hellenistic times it was generically used to designate the knot. The distinctive melon-coiffure is here tentatively associated with the “διάκρισις” of the ancient texts. The controversial and exciting body of evidence allows a text that deals with the many parameters of the ancient iconography, using the dominant frameworks of contextual analysis of archaeological thought. It is a history of taste for some aspects of the Greek antiquity and for the reader who is more familiar with the art of Roman times it offers an important body of evidence for the beginnings of morphological phenomena and tastes of the Roman Empire.

POVZETEK V okviru diplomske naloge smo izdelali katalog napak usnja za podjetje Johnson Controls- NTU. Za lažjo predstavo in razumevanje smo v teoretičnem delu predstavili različne vrste usnja, njegovo predelavo in uporabo. Opisan in prikazan je tudi celoten potek izdelave vzglavnika za avtomobil srednjega cenovnega razreda in napake, ki se pri tem pojavljajo. V nadaljevanju je podana primerjava in rezultati polaganja krojnih delov na kožo zaradi doseganja čim večjega izkoristka posameznih kož. Within this diploma we had made a catalogue of defects in leather for company Johnson Controls - NTU. To get a better idea and understanding we showed in theoreticall part different sorts of leathers, their treatment and their use. Descripted and demonstrated was also course of production of a car pillow for cars in middle class and defects that within occurre. In continuation is given comparison and results of laying the cutings on the skin in aim of achieve highest profit from individual skin.

Die Bibliotheca Gastronomica, ein großzügiges Geschenk des Sammlers Walter Putz aus Baden-Baden, wurde im Jahr 2005 als geschlossener Bestand in der Sächsischen Landesbibliothek – Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Dresden (SLUB) aufgestellt und in den Folgejahren von Walter Putz fortlaufend ergänzt. Die Sammlung umfasst mehr als 4.000 Handschriften, Bücher und Zeitschriften aus fünf Jahrhunderten, darüber hinaus eine umfangreiche Sammlung an Drucksachen, insbesondere Menukarten, sowie die umfangreiche Korrespondenz von Walter Putz mit Sammlern und Händlern. Im Jahr 2007 und 2008 sind Teile der Sammlung erstmals in Ausstellungen in Dresden und Karlsruhe präsentiert worden. Der vorliegende Katalog dokumentiert in Band 1 in chronologischer Folge 3863 Drucke. In Band 2 werden 36 Handschriften in chronologischer Folge sowie in alphabetischer Folge 132 Zeitschriften in 242 Bänden nachgewiesen. Das umfangreiche Register der Personen und Titel in Band 2 erleichtert den Überblick und die Suche nach den Drucken in Band 1. Članak usmjerava pažnju na putujuću izložbu te njezinu istoimenu prateću publikaciju 'Continuity of modernity: Fragments of Croatian architecture from Modernism to 2010' kao jednu od rijetkih gesti čiji je cilj upoznavanje Europe/svijeta sa hrvatskom arhitekturom i zbivanjima na arhitektonskoj sceni, u vremenu od početka 20. stoljeća do današnjih dana.

Archaeological items made of bone have been systematically neglected in literature for years, however this has changed for the last 30 years. The prevailing attitude was that bone items are not appropriate for the chronology observation. This may be partially true if we take into consideration only the utility purpose items that essentially have not changed in the course of the history. The attitude that bone items are inappropriate for creating chronology is unsustainable when it comes to decorative items of everyday use, which can be seen on hairpins whose basic forms and ornaments have changed over centuries from the simpler to more complex ones. This paper deals with Roman bone hairpins from the holdings of the Museum of Slavonia in Osijek making the Collection of bone items donated by the city and citizens of Osijek mostly late in the 19th and the mid 20th centuries. The paper processes the catalogue of 105 hairpins all of which originate, except for Mursa, from unknown sites. Resulting from unsystematic research other data are missing i.e. because all these donated collection items reached the Musem as chance finds. Since their archaeological context is missing, the hairpins can in this paper refer only to a general chronological frame of certain types. The use of wild and domestic animals bones as materials for the making of items of everyday use is very old. In the Roman period a number of items were made of bone since this was an easily available, easy to process and cheap raw material. These were mostly bones of bovine, horses, deer or goats but also antlers, oxen, billy-goat and bovine horns. Bones are easy to process, more durable and resistant than wood, of which only few items have been preserved. Items of every day use as well as decorative items were made of bones. The process of making bone items is very similar to that of making wooden items, it is even presumed that the same craftsmen processes both sorts of raw material. The same tools and procedures are used such as: cutting, sawing, filing, carving and polishing. The difference between these two sorts of raw material is that bone is treated in a special way before processing in order to improve its features, which required a special technology. Bone was prepared so that it was separated from flesh and then it simmered in water. The purpose of simmering was to extract bone marrow and grease. Before processing bones were put in water and would be cooked again to soften. Other procedure was steam treatment in special stoves at 120°C. As a result of cooking the bone was elastic, which made cutting and shaping of the bone easier as well as the yellowish colour of the bone that could be bleached. After having prepared the bone in this way the items were made according to moulds that were either drawn or made of clay or wax. The bone was then cut with either a knife or a saw while joints were disposed of. The next step was cutting smaller pieces out of which half-finished products were made in order to finish them as items used in everyday life. Half-finished products were finished by filing and polished by abrasion. Written sources offer few data on bone items processing in workshops in which cutters, turners and carvers worked (eborarii processing ebony). Some handicrafts-men specialized in processing and made only one sort of items e.g. fabri pectinarii (comb-makers) and tesserarii (tesserae and tokens). Handicrafts-men in provinces made items by hand upon the copies of items from great workshops so that items all differ, they are all unique items. The quality of handmade items depended not only on the skill of the handicrafts- man but also on the quality of the model. Carving workshops used turning-lathe, which enabled mass production. Machines in the workshops enables making of copies of an item but created also a lot of similar items. In large series from cheaper raw materials they made copies of expensive and luxurious items, which lowered their price and made them generally available. In this way bone as the cheapest raw material made fashion accessible to the public. Human aspiration for beaty has always dictated the trends. In ancient times men and especially women paid great attention to hygiene in order to improve the looks. Close attention was given to hairdo wcoma) not only among women but men as well. Women would fasten their braids and buns with metal or bone hairpins. More decorative hairpins were decoration in hair fastening at the same time ribbons, nets, coronets and hair jewellery. They were popular in Roman times when besides shaping, fastening and decorating they served as cosmetics (putting on a parfume and make-up). The purpose of hairpins and sewing needle has not changed for centuries. Various ancient authors used various notions for a hairpin: acus crinalis, acus crinale, acus comatoria, acus discerniculum or acus discriminalis. It was only that when adjectives were added to the noun acus that their purpose and function became clear. Simpler hairpins without decoration served for curling, straigthening and parting hair (discernere) and for that reason they were called acus discerniculum and acus discriminalis. Hairpins with a decorative head were used to fasten and decorate the hairdo and were referred to as acus crinale or acus comatoria. There was also a bigger hairpin calamistrum that was heated and was then used for hair curling. Decoration of hair with more complicated hairdo was regarded art. Hairpins typology is determined according to their most characteristic part-the head. The main division is into hairpins with a simple not-decorated head and hairpins with a decorated head. Most authors dealing with bone hairpins make two basic groups (and then group them according to types) or types. This paper has not taken into consideration any of these in their entirety but refers to the typology by S. Petković that deals with hairpins from Moesia Superior and less to the typology established by V. Šaranović-Svetek for sites in Syrmia. These two typologies have been chosen for the vicinity of the site that processed finds originated from (Pannonia Secunda and Moesia Superior). The paper conveys 12 types of hairpins from the area of Mursa with parallels throughout Pannonia and Mesia. Type 1 (catalogue nr. 1-4) comprises hairpins with the head in form of more or less regular cylinder while the body is spindle-shaped. It appears all along the Empire period (1st-5th centuries) so that some authors classify it to the chronologically insensitive type. Type 2 (catalogue nr. 5-20) comprises hairpins with an oval shaped head while the body is spindle-shaped. This type dates back to the 1st to 5th centuries. This type is considered to comprise the subtype of hairpins with a pointed oval head, Type 2a shape (catalogue nr. 16-20). Type 3 (catalogue nr. 21) comprises hairpins with a head that is a combination of the two previous types, i.e. cylinder and oval, while the body of the hairpin is spindleshaped. This type dates back to the time from the 1st to 5th centuries. Type 4 (catalogue nr. 22-40) comprises hairpins with a flattened head the body of which slightly narrowed from the head to the top. These hairpins served for parting and curling of locks (acus discerniculum) but also for colouring eyebrows, eyelashes and eyelids. These hairpins date back to the 2nd to 3rd centuries. Type 5 (catalogue nr. 41-65) comprise hairpins with a conical head the body of which slightly narrowing from the head to the top. This type of hairpins just like the previous one was used for hair parting (acus discerniculum) and for colouring eyelashes, eyebrows and eyelids. These hairpins date back to the 2nd to 3rd centuries, too. Type 6 (catalogue nr. 66-67) comprises hairpins in form of rimmed cone the body of which slightly narrowed from the head to the top. Just like the previous two types these hairpins served for parting (acus discerniculum) but also for colouring eyebrows, eyelashes and eyelids. This type of hairpins dates back to the 2nd to 3rd centuries. Type 7 (catalogue nr. 68-88) comprises hairpins with spherical head and spindel-shaped body. In this paper 20 hairpins are subdivided into three subtypes: Type 7a (catalogue nr. 68-74) - hairpins with a bigger spherical head; Type 7b (75-84) – hairpins with a smaller spherical head; Type 7c (85-88) – hairpins with a spherical pointed head. The hairpins date back to the 3rd to 4th centuries and the Type 7b possibly to the 2nd century. Type 8 (catalogue nr. 89) comprises hairpins with a multipart head that can include various geometrical shapes (sphere, halph-sphere, cylinder, cube) that are separated by flutes and ring-shaped plastic highlights. These hairpins were made on turning lathe and were decorated by flutings. The type dates back to the 2nd to 4th centuries. Type 9 (catalogue nr. 90-91) comprises hairpins with a cone-shaped head separated by fluting or ring-shaped plastic highlights from the body of the hairpin. The cones are of various shapes (from round to conical) and can be decorated by carved spirals and nets or remain undecorated. They date back to the Severian period, the end of the 2nd and the first half of the 3rd centuries and possibly to the 5th century. Tape 10 (catalogue nr. 92-93) comprises hairpins with a bulb-shaped head. M. T. Biro considers the bulb-shaped head hairpins to be formed as bulb-shaped fibulae (typical for the 4th century). This hairpin type appears rarely since it was produced in small quantites just like the ones with a conical-shaped head (our type 12). Type 11 (catalogue nr. 94-97) comprises hairpins with a polyhedron-shaped head. This type dates back to the second half of the 3rd until the 4th century but poorer samples are considered to date back to the 5th century. Tape 12 (98-99) comprises conical-shaped head hairpins that is separated from the body by fluting and plastic ring-shaped highlights. These hairpins served to fasten hair in a bun at the back of the head and could stand horizontally or vertically depending on the type of hairdo they supported. The conical-shaped head hairpins are similar to hairpins with both ends processed not only in dimension but its purpose also (supporting the bun). This type of hairpins dates back to the 3rd to the 4th centuries. The catalogue nr. 100-105 comprises hairpins with considerable damages. Damages appear in form of broken point and head of the hairpin. The biggest problem in analysing the type of the hairpin according to the head is when the head is missing. The Collection of items made of bones in the Museum of Slavonia is big (generally speaking there are 1000 hairpins excluding the research for the last ten years) and they were collected by purchase and systematic protective research. The original site of the purchased hairpins is unknown and those that originate from protective research site have been identified exactly (Toplana, Topnička vojarna, Vijenac narodnih heroja Slavonije, Oreškovićeva ulica etc.). They all originate from the area of the Lower Town where Roman Mursa was determined by Katančić and many other to come after him. Reviewing the material of the Collection of bone items we have noted a particular amount of other types of hairpins that do not appear in donations (hairpins with an animal-shaped head, hairpins with a female breast shaped head, an animal-hoof shaped or Sabasius hand-shaped hairpin, a nail-shaped head hairpin, hairpins with both-end decoration etc.) that shoud be dealt with in papers to come. A great amount of bone material (old holdings of the Museum and more recent preservation research in the area of Osijek) and not only of hairpins are a great incentive for systematic research of bone material. This processing and data received through recent research shall bring results that will confirm the existence of a bigger provincial bone-cutting workshop in Mursa.

The object of this study is to examine the effective functionality of an OPAC-system while a few participants interacted with the catalogue. I’ve used Carl Martin Allwood’s (1998) four designed usability factors to be able to estimate the effective functionality of the online catalogue. Theoretic basis is Human Computer Interaction together with Allwood’s four defined usability factors. They are: adjustment, ease of use, user acceptance and user competence. This study is conducted with a verbal protocol method which encourages the seven participators to “think aloud” while performing tasks. The study shows that the participants interact most effective in those functions they’re accustomed with. Which indicate that the OPAC-system have a high grade of user acceptance. The end users with more experience of using Internet search engines requested similar search capabilities and settings in the online catalogue. They tend to lack a little bit of understanding to the limitations of the OPAC which therefore indicate their lack of user competence. Some task problems occurred while the participators interacted in steps and functions they weren’t familiar with. They also spoke of the difficulties with subject searching and that they would like to know the best way to make search queries. I estimate some need of more user friendly functions and services, especially in the help section. The study shows that it is essential to educate users in ways to interact with the OPAC-system in a more effective manner.

Die Erschließung digitaler Medien wird - im Gegensatz zu der von konventionellen Printmedien - in Bibliotheken derzeit noch nicht im wünschenswerten Umfang durchgeführt. Dies gilt vor allem für Online- Ressourcen und Netzpublikationen. Im Vortrag wird dies anhand von Beispielen aus dem Katalog der KIT-Bibliothek dargestellt. Einen möglichen Ansatz für die verbesserte Erschließung stellt die Verwendung kollaborativer Verfahren dar. Am Beispiel des Recommendersystems Bibtip, das vor mehreren Jahren in Karlsruhe entwickelt wurde und inzwischen in zahlreichen Bibliotheken im Einsatz ist, sollen die Funktionsweise und die Auswirkungen eines Einsatzes solcher Lösungen vorgestellt werden.
