Although many anecdotes suggest that creative insights often arise during mind wandering, empirical research is still sparse. In this study, the number reduction task (NRT) was used to assess whether insightful solutions were related to mind wandering during the incubation stage of the creative process. An experience sampling paradigm was used to provide an online measure of mind wandering while participants performed a sustained attention response task (SART). Participants were 91 Chinese college students. The results showed that participants who gained insights of the hidden regularity in the NRT (or the "solvers") reported significantly more mind wandering during incubation than those who did not gain insights (or the "non-solvers"). Moreover, the solvers also rated themselves higher in overall creativity on the Exercise in Divergent Feeling (Williams, 1979) than did the nonsolvers. The two groups, however, did not differ in other characteristics, such as working memory capacity and motivation. These results suggest that mind wandering may play an important role in solving insight problems.

The minimum wage policy should take into account production costs of enterprises and welfare benefits of families. This paper describes the pass-through process of the minimum wage costs in the enterprise sector and the household sector by building a theoretical model, investigates the impact of the minimum wage adjustment on urban household consumption utility and its price pass-through mechanism from the perspective of living costs based on several sets of databases, such as household survey, supermarket prices and industrial enterprises for the first time, and further estimates the net welfare changes including income compensation and consumption utility loss. The findings of the study are as below: (1) The price transfer behavior of enterprises is the main cause of the loss of household consumption utility. The average wage level and labor costs of enterprises rise with the increase of minimum wages. Both the cost-price pass-through elasticity estimated based on the theoretical model and the minimum wage price elasticity coefficient obtained by empirical estimation show that the price transfer behavior of enterprises leads to the rise of final consumer prices; (2) With a 10% increase in minimum wages, the overall household living costs increase by 2.47%–6.76%, and the economic living costs increase by about 122–334 yuan per quarter, among which the living costs are most affected in terms of food, shoes and clothing; (3) Under the combined effect of income compensation and consumption utility loss, the bottom 20% of households and middle 60% of households will get 658 yuan and 469–556 yuan per quarter, respectively. The findings of this paper are conducive to improving the supporting minimum wage policy by taking a number of measures simultaneously, so as to provide a path reference for promoting the realization of Chinese modernization and expanding domestic demand for common prosperity for all. This study proposes a novel AC vector magnetometer developed using a low-resource magneto-impedance sensor for China's Feng-Yun meteorological satellite (FY-3E). It was calibrated and characterized to determine its performance parameters. The total weight of the AC vector magnetometer is 51 g (the aluminum box excluded), while the total power consumption is 310 mW. The proposed AC vector magnetometer can detect magnetic field variations in the range of ±1000 nT and noise power spectral density of ⩽ 50 pT/Hz1/2 @ 1 Hz. Furthermore, the proposed device has a maximum nonlinearity of ⩽ 0.71‰ over the entire range and a nonorthogonality error of 3.07 nT or 0.15% (root mean square). The total dose hardness of the sensor is ⩾ 30 krad (Si). Furthermore, we propose the first survey results of a magnetometer equipped aboard a Chinese FY-3E satellite in a Sun-synchronous orbit. The data revealed that the AC vector magnetometer can detect transient physical signals such as quasistatic field-aligned currents (~50 nT) and waves at the auroral latitudes. The haven paradise hypothesis has been widely supported in the international carbon transfer, but there is still a lack of inter-city evidence. The emergence of the digital economy in recent years has introduced unprecedented opportunities and challenges for carbon emissions reduction and carbon transfer. As the world's largest carbon emitter and a major player in the digital economy, exploring whether the pollution haven hypothesis exists among cities in China and how the digital economy affects inter-city carbon transfer is crucial for countries to optimize their domestic carbon reduction structures. To this end, this paper employs the 2012 and 2015 Chinese Urban Household Survey data alongside input-output tables based on the life cycle assessment method to quantify the inter-city carbon transfer. In addition, the impact and mechanisms of the digital economy on inter-city carbon transfer are explored using the two-way fixed effects model. The results show that 54% of Chinese cities' carbon emissions come from outside, with third-tier cities bearing high carbon transfer pressures, indicating the presence of the pollution haven hypothesis. The digital economy exacerbates inter-city carbon transfer by promoting market integration and facilitating industrial transfer, and it mainly promotes the transfer of high-intensity carbon emissions to third-tier cities. Considering carbon emission reduction targets, mandatory environmental regulations have strengthened the effect of the digital economy on carbon transfer. Therefore, the Chinese government needs to properly address carbon transfer by improving the collaborative carbon reduction system, enhancing carbon emission reduction efficiency, and accelerating the equitable progress of the digital economy. A new type of double-dielectric layer two-port beam splitter grating based on sandwich structure is proposed. This grating has the characteristic of zeroth order elimination. The structural parameters of the grating are optimized by the rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA) and simulated annealing algorithm (SAA) to achieve the best performance of the grating. For both TE and TM polarizations, the diffraction efficiencies of ±1st orders can reach 49.34% and 49.15%, respectively. Meanwhile, the efficiency of the zeroth order is about only 0.5% for both polarizations. This novel microstructure has the significant characteristic of zeroth order elimination. Moreover, this grating has a wide incident bandwidth and excellent manufacturing tolerance. As common clinical screening tests cannot effectively predict a difficult airway, and unanticipated difficult laryngoscopy remains a challenge for physicians. We herein used ultrasound to develop some point-of-care predictors for difficult laryngoscopy. This prospective observational study included 502 patients who underwent laryngoscopy and a detailed sonographic assessment. Patients under 18 years old, or with maxillofacial deformities or fractures, limited mouth opening, limited neck movement or history of neck surgery were excluded from the study. Laryngoscopic views of all patients were scored and grouping using the modified Cormack-Lehane (CL) scoring system. The measurements acquired comprised tongue width, the longitudinal cross-sectional area of the tongue, tongue volume, the mandible-hyoid bone distance, the hyoid bone-glottis distance, the mandible-hyoid bone-glottis angle, the skin-thyrohyoid membrane distance, the glottis-superior edge of the thyroid cartilage distance (DGTC), the skin-hyoid bone distance, and the epiglottis midway-skin distance. ANOVA and Chi-square were used to compare differences between groups. Logistic regression was used to identify risk factors for difficult laryngoscopy and it was visualized by receiver operating characteristic curves and nomogram. R version 3.6.3 and SPSS version 26.0 were used for statistical analyses. Difficult laryngoscopy was indicated in 49 patients (CL grade Ⅲ – Ⅳ) and easy laryngoscopy in 453 patients (CL grade Ⅰ – Ⅱ). The ultrasound-measured mandible-hyoid bone-glottis angle and DGTC significantly differed between the 2 groups (p < 0.001). Difficult laryngoscopy was predicted by an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.930 with a threshold mandible-hyoid bone-glottis angle of 125.5° and by an AUC of 0.722 with a threshold DGTC of 1.22 cm. The longitudinal cross-sectional area of the tongue, tongue width, tongue volume, the mandible-hyoid distance, and the hyoid-glottis distance did not significantly differ between the groups. Difficult laryngoscopy may be anticipated in patients in whom the mandible-hyoid bone-glottis angle is smaller than 125.5° or DGTC is larger than 1.22 cm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To investigate the changes of neural function and its correlation with cognitive function and emotion in patients with neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE). Methods A total of 46 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) admitted to The Affiliated Taizhou People's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from June 2020 to September 2022 were included. The patients were divided into the NPSLE group (n = 26) and the non-NPSLE group (n = 20) based on the presence or absence of neuropsychiatric symptoms. The mean regional homogeneity (mReHo) and mean fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (mfALFF) were calculated by resting-state fMRI (rs-fMRI). The Mini -Mental State Examination (MMSE) was used to evaluate overall cognitive function, the Fatigue Scale for Motor and Cognitive Functions (FSMC) was used to assess both motor and cognitive fatigue, and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) was used to measure anxiety and depression mood. Pearson correlation analysis and partial correlation analysis were conducted to explore the correlation of mReHo and mfALFF values in various brain regions with neuropsychologcial tests. Results The MMSE scores in NPSLE group was lower than non-NPSLE group (Z = - 3.934, P = 0.000). Additionally, the FSMC- Motor (t = 2.016, P = 0.050), FSMC-Cognition (t = 2.055, P = 0.046), HADS-Anxiety (Z = - 2.424, P = 0.015) and HADS-Depression (Z = - 2.731, P = 0.006) scores in NPSLE group were higher than those in non-NPSLE group. The mReHo values of the right dorsolateral superior frontal gyrus, right middle occipital gyrus, right posterior central gyrus, right inferior parietal margin angular gyrus and right inferior temporal gyrus decreased, while mfALFF values of the right middle occipital gyrus and right posterior central gyrus decreased in the NPSLE group (false discovery rate correction; voxel level P < 0.001, cluster P < 0.05). The mReHo and mfALFF in the right postcentral gyrus were both negatively correlated with HADS -Depression (r = - 0.483, P = 0.017; r = - 0.504, P = 0.012). The mReHo in the right inferior parietal gyrus was negatively correlated with FSMC -Motor (r = - 0.475, P = 0.019) and FSMC - Cognition (r = - 0.414, P = 0.044). The mReHo in the right inferior temporal gyrus was negatively correlated with FSMC-Cognition (r = - 0.427, P = 0.037). A seven-port division is described via the connecting-slab-based reflective grating in this paper. The rigorous coupled wave analysis (RCWA) and simulated annealing algorithm (SAA) are chosen to analyze and optimize the performance of the grating. The total diffraction efficiency of TE and TM polarization is 96.75% and 95.53%, respectively. Besides, the target grating has good uniformity errors, which are reduced to 3.69% and 1.76% for TE and TM polarization, respectively. The modal method provides a physical explanation for the energy transformations within the target grating. Furthermore, the manufacturing tolerance is discussed for the seven-port division grating. Through analysis and discussion, various performances of the grating can be better demonstrated. Compared with most seven-port grating splitters reported previously, the grating in this paper achieves better diffraction efficiency uniformity and higher efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The poor interface quality between cesium lead triiodide (CsPbI3) perovskite and the electron transport layer limits the stability and efficiency of CsPbI3 perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, a 4‐amino‐2,3,5,6‐tetrafluorobenzoate cesium (ATFC) is designed as a bifacial defect passivator to tailor the perovskite/TiO2 interface. The comprehensive experiments demonstrate that ATFC can not only optimize the conductivity, electron mobility, and energy band structure of the TiO2 layer by passivation of the undercoordinated Ti4+, oxygen vacancy (VO), and free OH defects but also promote the yield of high‐quality CsPbI3 film by synergistic passivation of undercoordinated Pb2+ defects with the CO group and F atom, and limiting I− migration via F···I interaction. Benefiting from the above interactions, the ATFC‐modified CsPbI3 device yields a champion power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 21.11% and an excellent open‐circuit voltage (VOC) of 1.24 V. Meanwhile, the optimized CsPbI3 PSC maintains 92.74% of its initial efficiency after aging 800 h in air atmosphere, and has almost no efficiency attenuation after tracking at maximum power point for 350 h. Anaerobic parasitic ciliates are a specialized group of ciliates that are adapted to anoxic and oxygen-depleted habitats. Among them, Balantidium polyvacuolum, which inhabits the hindgut of Xenocyprinae fishes, has received very limited scientific attention, so the molecular mechanism of its adaptation to the digestive tract microenvironment is still unclear. In this study, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and single-cell transcriptome analysis were used to uncover the metabolism of B. polyvacuolum. Starch granules, endosymbiotic bacteria, and multiple specialized mitochondrion-related organelles (MROs) of various shapes were observed. The MROs may have completely lost the electron transport chain (ETC) complexes I, III, IV, and V and only retained succinate dehydrogenase subunit A (SDHA) of complex II. The tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle was also incomplete. It can be inferred that the hypoxic intestinal environment has led to the specialization of the mitochondria in B. polyvacuolum. Moreover, carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZymes), including carbohydrate esterases, enzymes with a carbohydrate-binding module, glycoside hydrolases, and glycosyltransferases, were identified, which may constitute evidence that B. polyvacuolum is able to digest carbohydrates and starch. The evidence that parasitic animals exhibit elevated mitogenomic evolutionary rates is inconsistent and limited to Arthropoda. Similarly, the evidence that mitogenomic evolution is faster in species with low locomotory capacity is limited to a handful of animal lineages. We hypothesised that these two variables are associated and that locomotory capacity is a major underlying factor driving the elevated rates in parasites. Here, we study the evolutionary rates of mitogenomes of 10,906 bilaterian species classified according to their locomotory capacity and parasitic/free-living life history. In Bilateria, evolutionary rates were by far the highest in endoparasites, much lower in ectoparasites with reduced locomotory capacity and free-living lineages with low locomotory capacity, followed by parasitoids, ectoparasites with high locomotory capacity, and finally micropredatory and free-living lineages. The life history categorisation (parasitism) explained ≈45%, locomotory capacity categorisation explained ≈39%, and together they explained ≈56% of the total variability in evolutionary rates of mitochondrial protein-coding genes in Bilateria. Our findings suggest that these two variables play major roles in calibrating the mitogenomic molecular clock in bilaterian animals. The diversity of mitogenomic evolutionary rates among animal lineages remains poorly explained. Here, an analysis of mitogenomes of almost 11,000 bilaterian species provides evidence that parasitism and locomotory capacity are major variables explaining elevation of mitogenomic evolutionary rates. Objective: Evaluate the impact of peritoneal dialysis catheter (PDC) tail‐end design variations on PDC‐related complications. Method: Effective data were extracted from databases. The literature was evaluated according to the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions, and a meta‐analysis was conducted. Results: Analysis revealed that the straight‐tailed catheter was superior to the curled‐tailed catheter in minimizing catheter displacement and complication‐induced catheter removal (RR = 1.73, 95%CI:1.18–2.53, p = 0.005). In terms of complication‐induced PDC removal, the straight‐tailed catheter was superior to the curled‐tailed catheter (RR = 1.55, 95%CI: 1.15–2.08, p = 0.004). Conclusion: Curled‐tail design of the catheter increased the risk of catheter displacement and complication‐induced catheter removal, whereas the straight‐tailed catheter was superior to the curled‐tailed catheter in terms of reducing catheter displacement and complication‐induced catheter removal. However, the analysis and comparison of factors such as leakage, peritonitis, exit‐site infection, and tunnel infection did not reveal a statistically significant difference between the two designs.
