Thiopurine dose optimization by thiopurine-S-methyltransferase (TPMT) or nudix hydrolase-15 (NUDT15) significantly reduced early leucopenia in Asia. However, it fails to avoid the late incidence (> 2 months). Although laboratory monitoring of 6-thioguanine nucleotides (6TGN) to optimize thiopurine dose was suggested in White patients the exact association between leucopenia and 6TGN was controversial in Asian patients. In the present study, we aimed to explore whether DNA-thioguanine nucleotides (DNA-TGs) in leukocytes, compared with 6TGN in erythrocytes, can be a better biomarker for late leucopenia. This was a prospective, observational study. Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) prescribed thiopurine from February 2019 to December 2019 were recruited. Thiopurine dose was optimized by NUDT15 C415T (rs116855232). DNA-TG and 6TGN levels were determined at the time of late leucopenia or 2 months after the stable dose was obtained. Objective To investigate the association between the osteogenic differentiation in the soft tissue lump and the clinicopathological characteristics of osteosarcoma patients. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the clinical data of conventional osteosarcoma patients with soft tissue lumps, including Enneking stages, chemotherapy sensitivity, overall survival and post-metastatic survival time. The ossification level in soft tissue lumps was assessed by imaging and the proportion of osteoid matrix was assessed by pathological examination. Results A total of 189 cases were included in this study. In patients with Enneking IIIB, non-osteoblastic, partially osteoblastic and osteoblastic types accounted for 30.2%, 9.6% and 6.3%, respectively. Non-osteoblastic osteosarcoma patients had a higher rate of initial metastasis (P < 0.05); Chemotherapy efficiency of non-osteoblastic, partially osteoblastic and osteoblastic types were 60.5%, 59.6% and 31.3%, respectively. The osteoblastic osteosarcoma held the worst rate of chemotherapy sensitivity (P < 0.05). The overall survival of non-osteoblastic osteosarcoma was shorter than those of partially osteoblastic and osteoblastic types (P < 0.05). Post-metastatic survival time of osteoblastic osteosarcoma was longer than that of non-osteoblastic osteosarcoma (P=0.078). Conclusion For conventional osteosarcoma, the osteogenesis level in soft tissue lumps is related to the surgical stage, chemotherapy sensitivity and prognosis of tumors, which may provide guidance for the individual decision regarding chemotherapy and surgery timing on patients.

Background The association between anxiety and atrial fibrillation (AF) remains unclear. Moreover, this association has rarely been studied in Chinese individuals aged 60 years or older. This study investigated the association between anxiety and AF in a community-based case-control study of older adult residents in urban China. Methods The cases and controls were from a community-based study conducted in the Jingansi community in Shanghai, China, between January 2010 and December 2012. A total of 3622 residents aged 60 years or older without severe vision, hearing, or speaking impairments were eligible to participate in the physical examinations and questionnaire survey. AF was assessed based on a previous physician’s diagnosis, electrocardiogram, ambulatory electrocardiogram, or echocardiogram. Anxiety was evaluated using the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSAS). Using the AF group as a reference, the control group consisted of randomly selected age- and sex-matched individuals in a 1:5 ratio (case:control = 1:5). The association between anxiety and AF in the AF group and the multifactor-matched control group was explored using logistic regression. Results In the AF and control groups, after adjusting for a history of coronary heart disease, valvular heart disease, hypertension, stroke, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes, as well as depression score, ZSAS scores (odds ratio 1.07; 95% confidence interval 1.02–1.12; p = 0.003), and anxiety symptoms (odds ratio 3.94; 95% confidence interval 1.06–14.70; p = 0.041) were associated with AF. Conclusions Anxiety symptoms were associated with AF in a Chinese older population. This suggests that older adults who have anxiety symptoms may need psychological intervention or treatment in daily life and care.

The vast majority of traditional vulcanized rubber products are insoluble and infusible, which is difficult to reprocess and biodegrade, resulting in black pollution. In addition, although most rubber materials based on covalent adaptive networks (CANs) can achieve structural reconstruction, the lack of traditional vulcanization system leads to a decline in strength. In this study, biobased vanillin derivatives (PV) were synthesized to cross-link the commercially available 1,2-polybutadiene rubber precursor to construct imine-based CANs, thereby fabricating a resource-renewable, recyclable, and degradable high-performance rubber material. Due to the rigid tripod structure of the PV, the tensile strength of the material can achieve as high as 16.24 MPa, ranking among the best in the field of recyclable polybutadiene-based materials. Benefiting from the dynamic imine unit, the "dynamic covalent bridge" can be re-established to repair the damaged network and endow the material with excellent weldability. And, shape memory faculty of the material was proved and depicted. Moreover, this material displayed excellent antibacterial property originates from the introduced Schiff-base structure. By mixing with graphene, the application of action sensors can also be achieved.
