Recently emerging perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) have drawn considerable attention due to the superior optoelectronic performances. However, the terrible stability of red emissive PNCs (r‐PNCs) limits their broader application in aqueous media. Despite various encapsulation methods are proposed, the preparation of aqueous r‐PNCs with facile operation and excellent durability is still challenging. Herein, aqueous green emissive PNCs (g‐PNCs) by employing water as an external stimulus to treat oleyamine‐capped CsPbBr3 PNCs are synthesized initially, and then aqueous‐stable pure red emissive PNCs by anion‐exchange reaction and subsequently thiocyanate (SCN‐) passivation treatment (SCN‐r‐PNCs) are prepared. The obtained aqueous‐stable SCN‐r‐PNCs display high brightness, outstanding stability, and extended photoluminescence lifetime. Moreover, by combining aqueous r‐PNCs and portable smartphones, a fluorescence chemosensor for the detection of aqueous SCN− ions is constructed, which exhibits simple operation, high sensitivity, high selectivity, low detection limit, and visualized sensing. This work not only provides a new and facile strategy to prepare aqueous‐stable red emissive PNCs, but also further extends the application of red emissive PNCs in aqueous‐based fields. The pure waterjet (WJ) drilling process of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates causes damage, such as tears and delamination, leading to poor-quality hole-wall. Ultrasonic-vibration-assisted technology can improve the quality of hole walls and repair such damage, particularly the delamination of CFRP laminates. In this study, we conducted a numerical and experimental investigation of a high-pressure pure WJ drilling process of CFRP laminates performed using ultrasonic vibration to improve the delamination phenomena of the pure WJ drilling process. An explicit dynamic model using the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method was employed to simulate the ultrasonic-vibration-assisted WJ drilling of CFRP laminates and ascertain the optimal drilling performance. Thereafter, WJ drilling experiments were conducted to verify the numerical simulation. The results illustrate that the employment of ultrasonic vibration significantly increased the material removal rate by approximately 20%. Moreover, the water-wedging action that induces the propagation of delamination was weakened with an increase in the amplitude of the ultrasonic vibration. The hole-wall quality was optimal with the following drilling parameters: amplitude, 10 μm; frequency, 20 kHz; and WJ velocity, 900 m/s. The delamination zone length was only 0.19 mm and was reduced by 85.6% compared with the values obtained using non-assisted WJ drilling.

Aptamers are emerging as promising molecular tools in cancer-targeted theranostics. Improving their in vivo stability has been a critical issue in promoting clinical translation, but such efforts could lead to more serious side effects resulting from prolonged retention in healthy organs. To address this problem, we developed an environment-responsive stabilization strategy for the selective enhancement of aptamer biostability in the tumor microenvironment (TME). Briefly, by means of the end extension of an ATP-responsive protection (ARP) module, the designed aptamer could be protected from nuclease degradation through the specific incorporation of ATP. Based on our in vivo results, this ARP-aptamer probe was effectively accumulated in tumors via aptamer-based molecular recognition. It showed selectively prolonged tumor retention time, but rapid digestion in healthy organs. The morphology of nanomaterials (geometric shape and dimension) play a significant role in its various physical and chemical properties. Thus, it is essential to link morphology with performance in specific applications. For this purpose, the morphology of copper metal-organic polyhedra (Cu-MOP) can be modulated through distinct assembly process, which facilitates the exploration of the relationship between morphology and catalytic performance. In this work, the assemblies of Cu-MOP with three different morphologies (nanorods, nanofibers and nanosheets) were facilely prepared by the variation of solvent mixture of N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and methanol, revealed the important role of the interaction between the surface group and the solvent on the morphology of these assemblies. Cu-MOP nanofibers exhibited the highest mimetic peroxidase enzyme activity over the Cu-MOP nanosheets and nanorods, which have been utilized in the detection of glucose. The activation of tumor-specific effector immune cells is key for successful immunotherapy and vaccination is a powerful strategy to induce such adaptive immune responses. However, the generation of effective anticancer vaccines is challenging. To overcome these challenges, a novel straight-forward strategy of adjuvant-induced tumor antigen assembly to generate nanovaccines with superior antigen/adjuvant loading efficiency is developed. To protect nanovaccines in circulation and to introduce additional functionalities, a biocompatible polyphenol coating is installed. The resulting functionalizable nanovaccines are equipped with a pH (low) insertion peptide (pHLIP) to facilitate endolysosomal escape and to promote cytoplasmic localization, with the aim to enhance cross-presentation of the antigen by dendritic cells to effectively activate CD8 + T cell. The results demonstrate that pHLIP-functionalized model nanovaccine can induce endolysosomal escape and enhance CD8 + T cell activation both in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, based on the adjuvant-induced antigen assembly, nanovaccines of the clinically relevant tumor-associated antigen NY-ESO-1 are generated and show excellent capacity to elicit NY-ESO-1-specific CD8 + T cell activation, demonstrating a high potential of this functionalizable nanovaccine formulation strategy for clinical applications., (© 2018 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Novel highly fluorescent (FL) metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been synthesized by encapsulating branched poly-(ethylenimine)-capped carbon quantum dots (BPEI-CQDs) with a high FL quantum yield into the zeolitic imidazolate framework materials (ZIF-8). The as-synthesized FL-functionalized MOFs not only maintain an excellent FL activity and sensing selectivity derived from BPEI-CQDs but also can strongly and selectively accumulate target analytes due to the adsorption property of MOFs. The selective accumulation effect of MOFs can greatly amplify the sensing signal and specificity of the nanosized FL probe. The obtained BPEI-CQDs/ZIF-8 composites have been used to develop an ultrasensitive and highly selective sensor for Cu(2+) ion, with a wide response range (2-1000 nM) and a very low detection limit (80 pM), and have been successfully applied in the detection of Cu(2+) ions in environmental water samples. It is envisioned that various MOFs incorporated with FL nanostructures with high FL quantum yields and excellent selectivity would be designed and synthesized in similar ways and could be applied in sensing target analytes.
