The field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) is growing rapidly, with new research published daily along with an abundance of tutorials, codebases and other online resources. In order to learn this dynamic field or stay up-to-date on the latest research, students as well as educators and researchers must constantly sift through multiple sources to find valuable, relevant information. To address this situation, we introduce TutorialBank, a new, publicly available dataset which aims to facilitate NLP education and research. We have manually collected and categorized over 6,300 resources on NLP as well as the related fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Information Retrieval (IR). Our dataset is notably the largest manually-picked corpus of resources intended for NLP education which does not include only academic papers. Additionally, we have created both a search engine and a command-line tool for the resources and have annotated the corpus to include lists of research topics, relevant resources for each topic, prerequisite relations among topics, relevant sub-parts of individual resources, among other annotations. A gap soliton is a solitonic state existing inside the band gap of an infinite-periodic exciton-polariton condensate (EPC). The combination of surface states and gap solitons forms the so named surface gap solitons (SGSs). We analyze the existence of SGSs near the interface between uniform and semi-infinite periodic EPCs. We find that SGSs exist only when the system is excited by a pump with low power and small width. As the pump power or width increases, SGSs become unstable., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures

A ring dark soliton is a dark soltion occurring in higher dimensions. It is still unknown in microcavity-polariton condensates due to its instability. We find that a stable RDS cannot exist in a MPC without a defect. We then propose a way to create a stable RDS in a MPC by adding a defect with a ring structure to the system. A RDS pinned by the defect potential becomes stable. For various pump powers, we also investigate the stable regime of the RDS by tuning the strength and width of the defect potential. This paper presents experimental evidence of the existence of acoustic valley Hall (AVHE) edge states in topological elastic waveguides. The fundamental lattice is assembled based on a non-resonant unit where space inversion symmetry (SIS) is broken by simply perturbing the underlying lattice geometry. This aspect is in net contrast with existing elastic AVHE designs that exploit locally-resonant units and require the addition of masses in order to break SIS. The experimental results presented in this study validate findings so far presented only at theoretical and numerical level. In particular, it is found that edge modes can effectively propagate along domain walls between topologically dissimilar domains and that disorder-induced backscattering is substantially suppressed due to the weak coupling between oppositely valley-polarized modes. The coupling between valley modes is also further investigated and linked to an evident chiral flux of the mechanical energy. Finally, we show that the weak coupling between the valleys can be exploited to achieve selective mode injection at the domain wall, hence realizing a very effective excitation strategy of the chiral edge states., Comment: 12 pages, 15 figures

We report on the design and experimental validation of a two-dimensional phononic elastic waveguide exhibiting topological Valley-Hall edge states. The lattice structure of the waveguide is inspired by the diatomic graphene and it is imprinted in an initially flat plate by means of geometric indentations. The indentations are distributed according to a hexagonal lattice structure which guarantees the existence of Dirac dispersion at the boundary of the Brillouin zone. Starting from this basic material, domain walls capable of supporting edge states can be obtained by contrasting waveguides having broken space inversion symmetry (SIS) achieved by using local resonant elements. Our theoretical study shows that such material maps into the acoustic analog of the quantum valley Hall effect (QVHE) while numerical and experimental results confirm the existence of protected edge states traveling along the walls of topologically distinct domains.
