Abstract: We report a measurement of exclusive e(+)e(-) -> Ds(*)+Ds(*)- cross sections as a function of center-of-mass energy near the Ds(*)+Ds(*)- threshold with initial-state radiation. The analysis is based on a data sample collected with the Belle detector with an integrated luminosity of 967 fb(-1).

Abstract: We measure the production cross sections for ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(1S){\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(2S){\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, and $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(3S){\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ as a function of $\sqrt{s}$ between 10.83 GeV and 11.02 GeV. The data consist of $8.1\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. We observe enhanced production in all three final states that does not agree well with the conventional $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(10860)$ line shape. A fit using a Breit-Wigner resonance shape yields a peak mass of $[10\text{ }{888.4}_{\ensuremath{-}2.6}^{+2.7}(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.2(\mathrm{syst})]\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$ and a width of $[{30.7}_{\ensuremath{-}7.0}^{+8.3}(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}3.1(\mathrm{syst})]\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$.

Abstract: We have made the first observation of B-s(0) -> D-s(()*()+) D-s(()*()-) decays using 23.6 fb(-1) of data recorded by the Belle experiment running on the Y(5S) resonance. The branching fractions are measured to be B(B-s(0) -> Ds+Ds-) = (1.03(-0.32-0.25)(+0.39+0.26))% B(B-s(0) -> Ds*D-+/-(s)-/+) = (2.75(-0.71)(+0.83) +/- 0.69)%, and B(B-s(0) -> D-s*(+) D-s*(-)) = (3.08(-1.04-0.86)(+1.22+0.85))%; the sum is B[B-s(0) -> D-s(()*()+) D-s(()*()-)] = (6.85(-1.30-1.80)(+1.53+1.79))%. Assuming B-s(0) -> D-s(()*()+) D-s(()*()-) saturates decays to CP-even final states, the branching fraction determines the ratio Delta Gamma(s)/cos phi, where Delta Gamma(s) is the difference in widths between the two B-s-(B) over bar (s) mass eigenstates, and phi is a CP-violating weak phase. Taking CP violation to be negligibly small, we obtain Delta Gamma(s)/Delta Gamma(s) = 0.147(-0.030)(+0.036)(stat)(-0.041)(+0.042)(syst), where Gamma(s) is the mean decay width.

Abstract: We present the result of a search for charge asymmetry in B-+/- -> J/psi K-+/- decays using 772 X 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Y(4S) resonance by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. The CP-violating charge asymmetry is measured to be A(CP)(B+ -> J/psi K+) = [-0.76 +/- 0.50 (stat) +/- 0.22 (syst)]%.

Abstract: We report a first measurement of inclusive B→Xsη decays, where Xs is a charmless state with unit strangeness. The measurement is based on a pseudoinclusive reconstruction technique and uses a sample of 657×10(6)BB pairs accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. For MXs2.6 GeV/c2, we measure a branching fraction of [26.1±3.0(stat)-2.1+1.9(syst)-7.1+4.0(model)]×10(-5) and a direct CP asymmetry of ACP=-0.13±0.04-0.03+0.02. Over half of the signal occurs in the range MXs1.8 GeV/c2.

Abstract: We report a measurement of CP violating asymmetries in B-0 ((B-0) over bar) -> (K+K-KS0) decays with a time-dependent Dalitz approach. This analysis is based on a data sample of 657 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs accumulated at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+) e(-) collider. As the result of an unbinned maximum likelihood fit to the selected candidates, the mixing-induced and direct CP violation parameters phi(eff)(1) and A(CP) are obtained for B-0 -> phi(1020)K-S(0), B-0 -> f(0)(980)K-S(0), and other B-0 -> (K+K-KS0) decays. We find four solutions that describe the data. There are phi(eff)(1) (B-0 -> phi(1020)K-S(0)) = (32.2 +/- 9.0 +/- 2.6 +/- 1.4); phi(eff)(1)(B-0 -> phi(1020)K-S(0)) = 26.2 +/- 8.8 +/- 2.7 +/- 1.2); phi(eff)(1)(B-0 phi(1020)K-S(0)) = (27.3 +/- 8.6 +/- 2.8 +/- 1.3); and phi(eff)(1)(B-0 -> phi(1020)K-S(0)) = (24.3 +/- 8.0 +/- 2.9 +/- 5.2). The values for the CP violating phase in B-0 -> phi(1020)K-S(0) are similar, but other properties of the Dalitz plot are quite different for the four solutions. These four solutions have consistent phi(eff)(1) values for all three B-meson decay channels and none of them deviates significantly from the values measured in B -> (c (c) over bar )K-0 decays with the currently available statistics. In addition, we find no significant direct CP violation.

Abstract: We present a measurement of the decay B- -> tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau) using a data sample containing 657 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the gamma(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. A sample of B+B- pairs are tagged by reconstructing one B+ meson decaying semileptonically. We detect the B- -> tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau) candidate in the recoil. We obtain a signal with a significance of 3.6 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties, and measure the branching fraction to be B- -> tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau) [1.54(-0.37)(+0.38) (stat) (+0.29)(-0.31) (syst) x 10(-4). This result confirms the evidence for B- -> tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau) obtained in a previous Belle measurement that used a hadronic B tagging method.

Abstract: We have searched for B-s(0) --> hh decays, where h stands for a charged or neutral kaon, or a charged pion. These results are based on a 23: 6 fb(-1) data sample collected with the Belle detector on the Y(5S) resonance at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider, containing 1.25 x 10(6) B-s(()*())(B) over bar (()(s)*()) events. We observe the decay B-s(0) --> K+K- and measure its branching fraction, B(B-s(0) --> K+K-) = [3.8(-0.9)(+1.0)(stat) +/- 0.5(syst) +/- 0.5(f(s))] x 10(-5). The first error is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third error is due to the uncertainty in the B-s(0) production fraction in e(+)e(-) --> b (b) over bar events. No significant signals are seen in other decay modes, and we set upper limits at the 90% confidence level: B(B-s(0) --> K- pi+) pi(+)pi(-)) K-0(K) over bar (0)) < 6.6 x 10(-5).

Abstract: We present improved measurements of the branching fractions for the decays B-0 -> D-s(+) pi(-) and (B) over bar (0) -> D-s(+) K- using a data sample of 657 X 10(6) B (B) over bar events collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric- energy e(+)e(-) collider. The results are B(B-0 -> D-s(+) pi(-)) = (1.99 +/- 0.26 +/- 0.18) X 10(-5) and B((B) over bar (0) -> D-s(+) K-) = (1.91 +/- 0.24 +/- 0.17) X 10(-5), where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Based on these results, we determine the ratio between amplitudes of the doubly Cabibbo suppressed decay B-0 -> D+pi(-) and the Cabibbo favored decay B-0 -> D-pi(+), R-D pi = [1.71 +/- 0.11(stat) +/- 0.09(syst) +/- 0.02(theo)]%, where the last term denotes the theory error.

Abstract: Decays of the Gamma(5S) resonance to channels with B+ and B-0 mesons are studied using a 23.6 fb(-1) data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+) e(-) collider. Fully reconstructed B+ -> J/psi K+, B-0 -> J/psi K-*0, B+ ->(D) over bar (0)pi(+), and B-0 -> D-pi(+) decays are used to obtain the charged and neutral B production rates per b (b) over bar event, f(B+) = (72.1(-3.8)(+3.9) +/- 5.0)% and f(B-0) = (77.0(-5.6)(+5.8) +/- 6.1)%. Assuming equal rates to B+ and B-0 mesons in all channels produced at the Gamma(5S) energy, we measure the fractions for transitions to two-body and three-body channels with B meson pairs, f(B (B) over bar) = (5.5(-0.9)(+1.0) +/- 0.4)%, f(B (B) over bar* + B*(B) over bar) = (13.7 +/- 1.3 +/- 1.1)%, f(B*(B) over bar*) = (37.5(-1.9)(+2.1) +/- 3.0)%, f(B (B) over bar) = (5.5(-0.9)(+1.0) +/- 0.4)%, f(B (B) over bar* + B*(B) over bar) = (13.7 +/- 1.3 +/- 1.1)%, f(B*(B) over bar*) = (37.5(-1.9)(+2.1) +/- 3.0)%, f(B (B) over bar pi) = (0.0 +/-1.2 +/- 0.3)%, f(B (B) over bar*pi + B*(B) over bar pi) = (7.3(-2.1)(+2.3) +/- 0.8)%, and f(B*(B) over bar*pi) = (1.0(-1.3)(+1.4) +/- 0.4)%. The latter three fractions are obtained assuming isospin conservation.

Abstract: We present a study of tau(-)->pi(-)pi(+)pi(-)nu(tau), tau(-) -> K-pi(+)pi(-)nu(tau), tau(-) -> K-K+ pi(-)nu(tau), and tau(-) -> K-K+K-nu(tau) decays using a 666 fb(-1) data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric- energy e(+)e(-) collider at and near a center- of- mass energy of 10.58 GeV. The branching fractions are measured to be B(tau(-)->pi(-)pi(+)pi(-)nu(tau)) = (8.42 +/- 0.00(-0.25)(+0.26)) x 10(-2), B(tau(-)-> K-pi(+)pi(-)nu(tau)) = 3.30 +/- 0.01(-0.17)(+0.16)) x 10(-3), B(tau(-)-> K-K+pi(-)nu(tau)) = (1.55 +/- 0.01(-0.05)(+0.06)) x 10(-3), and B(tau(-)-> K-K+K-nu(tau)), = (3.29 +/- 0.17(-0.20)(+0.19)) x 10(-5), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. These branching fractions do not include contributions from modes in which a pi(+)pi(-) pair originates from a K-S(0) decay. We also present the unfolded invariant mass distributions for these decays.

Abstract: We present a new measurement of the unitarity triangle angle phi(3) using a Dalitz plot analysis of the K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-) decay of the neutral D meson produced in B-+/- -> D-(*()) K-+/- decays. The method exploits the interference between D-0 and (D) over bar (0) to extract the angle phi(3), strong phase delta, and the ratio r of suppressed and allowed amplitudes. We apply this method to a 605 fb(-1) data sample collected by the Belle experiment. The analysis uses three decays: B-+/- -> DK +/-, and B-+/- -> D*K-+/- with D* -> D pi(0) and D* -> D gamma, as well as the corresponding charge-conjugate modes. From a combined maximum likelihood fit to the three modes, we obtain phi(3) = 78.4 degrees (+10.8 degrees)(-11.6 degrees) +/- 3.6 degrees (syst) +/- 8.9 degrees (model). CP conservation in this process is ruled out at the confidence level (1 - CL) = 5 X 10(-4), or 3.5 standard deviations.

Abstract: First observations of the Bs0→Ds*-π+, Bs0→Ds-ρ+ and Bs0→Ds*-ρ+ decays are reported together with measurements of their branching fractions: B(Bs0→Ds*-π+)=[2.4-0.4+0.5(stat)±0.3(syst) ±0.4(fs)]×10-3, B(Bs0→Ds-ρ+)=[8.5-1. 2+1.3(stat)±1.1(syst)±1.3(fs)]×10-3 and B(Bs0→Ds*-ρ+)=[11.9-2.0+2.2(stat)±1.7(syst) ±1.8(fs)]×10-3 (fs=NBs(*)Bs(*)/ Nbb). From helicity-angle distributions, we measured the longitudinal polarization fraction in Bs0→Ds*-ρ+ decays to be fL(Bs0→Ds*-ρ+)=1.05-0.10+0.08(stat)-0.04+0.03(syst). Abstract: We have made the first observation of B(s)(0)→D(s)(*)+ D(s)(*)- decays using 23.6 fb(-1) of data recorded by the Belle experiment running on the Υ(5S) resonance. The branching fractions are measured to be B(B(s)(0)→D(s)+ D(s)-)=(1.03(-0.32-0.25)(+0.39+0.26))%, B(B(s)(0)→D(s)(*±) D(s)(∓))=(2.75(-0.71)(+0.83)±0.69)%, and B(B(s)(0)→D(s)*+ D(s)*-)=(3.08(-1.04-0.86)(+1.22+0.85))%; the sum is B[B(s)(0)→D(s)(*)+ D(s)(*)-]=(6.85(-1.30-1.80)(+1.53+1.79))%. Assuming B(s)(0)→D(s)(*)+ D(s)(*)- saturates decays to CP-even final states, the branching fraction determines the ratio ΔΓ(s)/cosφ, where ΔΓ(s) is the difference in widths between the two B(s)-B(s) mass eigenstates, and φ is a CP-violating weak phase. Taking CP violation to be negligibly small, we obtain ΔΓ(s)/Γ(s)=0.147(-0.030)(+0.036)(stat)(-0.041)(+0.042)(syst), where Γ(s) is the mean decay width.

Abstract: We have searched for CP violation in the charmed meson decays D((s))(+) --> K(S)(0)pi(+) and D((s))(+) --> K(S)(0)K(+) using 673 fb(-1) of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. No evidence for CP violation is observed. We report the most sensitive CP asymmetry measurements to date for these decays: A(CP)(D(+)-->K(S)(0)pi(+)) = (-0.71 +/- 0.19 +/- 0.20)%, A(CP)(D(s)(+) --> K(S)(0)pi(+)) = (+5.45 +/- 2.50 +/- 0.33)%, A(CP)(D(+) --> K(S)(0)K(+)) = (-0.16 +/- 0.58 +/- 0.25)%, and A(CP)(D(s)(+) --> K(S)(0)K(+)) = (+0.12 +/- 0.36 +/- 0.22)%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.

Abstract: We report a search for the decays B-0 -> K*(0)(K) over bar*(0) and B-0 -> K*K-0*(0) . We also measure other charmless decay modes with K+ pi K--(-)pi(+) and K+pi K--(+)pi(-) final states. The results are obtained from a data sample containing 657 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric- energy e(+)e(-) collider. We set upper limits on the branching fractions for B-0 -> K*(0)(K) over bar*(0) and B-0 -> K*K-0*(0) of 0: 81 x 10(-6) and 0.20 x 10(-6), respectively, at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract: The process gammagamma-->phiJ/psi is measured using a data sample of 825 fb{-1} collected with the Belle detector. A narrow peak of 8.8{-3.2}{+4.2} events, with a significance of 3.2 standard deviations including systematic uncertainty, is observed. The mass and natural width of the structure [named X(4350)] are measured to be [4350.6{-5.1}{+4.6}(stat)+/-0.7(syst)] MeV/c{2} and [13{-9}{+18}(stat)+/-4(syst)] MeV, respectively. The product of its two-photon decay width and branching fraction to phiJ/psi is [6.7{-2.4}{+3.2}(stat)+/-1.1(syst)] eV for J{P}=0{+}, or [1.5{-0.6}{+0.7}(stat)+/-0.3(syst)] eV for J{P}=2{+}. No signal for the Y(4140)-->phiJ/psi structure reported by the CDF Collaboration in B-->K{+}phiJ/psi decays is observed, and limits of Gamma_{gammagamma}(Y(4140))B(Y(4140)-->phiJ/psi)

Abstract: We report the results of a search for a charmoniumlike state produced in the process gamma gamma -> omega J/psi in the 3.9-4.2 GeV = c(2) mass region. We observe a significant enhancement, which is well described by a resonant shape with mass M = (3915 +/- 3 +/- 2_ MeV/c(2) and total width Gamma = (17 +/- 10 +/- 3) MeV. This enhancement may be related to one or more of the three charmoniumlike states so far reported in the 3.90-3.95 GeV= c(2) mass region.

Abstract: We present a study of B→X(3872)K with X(3872) decaying to D*0D0 using a sample of 657×106 BB pairs recorded at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. Both D*0→D0γ and D*0→D0π0 decay modes are used. We find a peak of 50.1-11.1+14.8 events with a mass of (3872.9-0.4-0.5+0.6+0.4)MeV/c2, a width of (3.9-1.4-1.1+2.8+0.2)MeV/c2 and a product branching fraction B(B→X(3872)K)×B(X(3872)→D*0D0)=(0. 80±0.20±0.10)×10-4, where the first errors are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The significance of the signal is 6.4σ. The difference between the fitted mass and the D*0D0 threshold is calculated to be (1.1-0.4-0.3+0.6+0.1)MeV/c2. We also obtain an upper limit on the product of branching fractions B(B→Y(3940)K) ×B(Y(3940)→D*0D0) of 0.67×10 -4 at 90% CL. © 2010 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report measurements of CP violation parameters in $B^0 \to K^0 \pi^0$ decays based on a data sample of $657 \times 10^6 B\bar{B}$ pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^+ e^-$ asymmetric-energy collider. We use $B^0 \to K^0_S \pi^0$ decays for both mixing-induced and direct $CP$ violating asymmetry measurements and $B^0 \to K^0_L \pi^0$ decays for the direct CP violation measurement. The CP violation parameters obtained are $\sin 2 \phi_1^{\rm eff} = +0.67 \pm 0.31{(stat)} \pm 0.08 {(syst)}$ and $\mathcal{A}_{K^0 \pi^0} = +0.14 \pm 0.13{(stat)} \pm 0.06 {(syst)}$. The branching fraction of $B^0 \to K^0 \pi^0$ decay is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(B^0 \to K^0 \pi^0) = (8.7\pm0.5 (\rm{stat.})\pm0.6 (\rm{syst.}))\times 10^{-6}$. The observed $\mathcal{A}_{K^0 \pi^0}$ value differs by 1.9 standard deviations from the value expected from an isospin sum rule.

Abstract: We have searched for CP violation in the charmed meson decays D((s))(+) --K(S)(0)pi(+) and D((s))(+) --K(S)(0)K(+) using 673 fb(-1) of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. No evidence for CP violation is observed. We report the most sensitive CP asymmetry measurements to date for these decays: A(CP)(D(+)--K(S)(0)pi(+)) = (-0.71 +/- 0.19 +/- 0.20)%, A(CP)(D(s)(+) --K(S)(0)pi(+)) = (+5.45 +/- 2.50 +/- 0.33)%, A(CP)(D(+) --K(S)(0)K(+)) = (-0.16 +/- 0.58 +/- 0.25)%, and A(CP)(D(s)(+) --K(S)(0)K(+)) = (+0.12 +/- 0.36 +/- 0.22)%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.

Abstract: We study charmless B+ meson decays to the p Lambda pi(+)pi(-) final state using a 605 fb(-1) data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. There are significant signals found with the p Lambda mass peaking near threshold. The observed branching fraction for nonresonant B+-> p Lambda pi(+)pi(-) is (5.92(-0.84)(+0.88)(stat)+/- 0.69(syst))x10(-6) with a significance of 9.1 standard deviations. We also observe the intermediate three-body decay B+-> p Lambda rho(0) with a branching fraction of (4.78(-0.64)(+0.67)(stat)+/- 0.60(syst))x10(-6) and a significance of 9.5 standard deviations, and find a hint of a B+-> p Lambda f(2)(1270) signal. No other intermediate three-body decay is found in this study.

Abstract: We report a measurement of the CP-odd fraction and the time-dependent CP violation in B-0 -> D*+D*- decays, using 657x10(6) BB events collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We measure a CP-odd fraction of R-perpendicular to=0.125 +/- 0.043(stat)+/- 0.023(syst). From the distributions of the proper-time intervals between a B-0 -> D*+D*- decay and the other B meson in the event, we obtain evidence of CP violation with measured parameters A(D)(*+)D(*-)=0.15 +/- 0.13(stat)+/- 0.04(syst) and SD*+D*-=-0.96 +/- 0.25(stat)(-0.16)(+0.13)(syst).

Abstract: We report measurements of the exclusive cross section for e(+)e(-)->(DD*-)-D-0 pi(+) as a function of center-of-mass energy from the (DD*-)-D-0 pi(+) threshold to 5.2 GeV with initial-state radiation. No evidence is found for Y(4260)->(DD*-)-D-0 pi(+) decays. The analysis is based on a data sample collected with the Belle detector at or near a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV with an integrated luminosity of 695 fb(-1) at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider.

Abstract: We study B -> Kd(*)l(+)l(-) decays (l = e,u) based on a data sample of 657 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. We report the differential branching fraction, isospin asymmetry, K* polarization, and the forward-backward asymmetry (A(FB)) as functions of q(2) = M(ll)(2)c(2). The fitted A(FB) spectrum exceeds the standard model expectation by 2.7 standard deviations. The measured branching fractions are B(B -> K*l(+)l(-)) = (10: 7(-1.0)(+1.1)) x 10(-7) and B(B -> Kl(+)l(-)) = (4.8 (+0.5)(-0.4) +/- 0.3) x 10(-7), where the first errors are statistical and the second are systematic, with the muon to electron ratios R-K* = 0.83 +/- 0: 17 +/- 0.08 and R-K = 1.03 +/- 0.19 +/- 0.06.

Abstract: We report measurements of charmless hadronic B0 decays into the π+π-K+π- final state. The analysis uses a sample of 657×106 BB pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at the resonance. The decay B0→ρ0K+π- is observed for the first time; the significance is 5.0σ and the corresponding partial branching fraction for MKπ(0.75,1.20)GeV/c2 is [2.8±0.5(stat) ±0.5(syst)]×10-6. We also obtain the first evidence for B0→f0(980)K+π- with 3.5σ significance and for B0→π+π- K*0 with 4.5σ significance. For the two-body decays B0→ρ0K*0 and B0→f0(980)K*0, the significances are 2.7σ and 2.5σ, respectively, and the upper limits on the branching fractions are 3.4×10-6 and 2.2×10-6 at 90% confidence level. © 2009 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: From a Dalitz plot analysis of B --> K pi psi' decays, we find a signal for Z(4430)+ --> pi+ psi' with a mass M= (4443(+15-12)(+19-13))MeV/c^2, width Gamma= (107(+86-43)(+74-56))MeV, product branching fraction BR(B0 --> K- Z(4430)+) x BR(Z(4430)+ --> pi+ psi')= (3.2(+1.8-0.9)(+5.3-1.6)) x 10^{-5}, and significance of 6.4sigma that agrees with previous Belle measurements based on the same data sample. In addition, we determine the branching fraction BR(B^0 --> K*(892)^0 psi')= (5.52(+0.35-0.32)(+0.53-0.58)) x 10^{-4} and the fraction of K*(892)^0 mesons that are longitudinally polarized f_L= 44.8(+4.0-2.7)(+4.0-5.3)%. These results are obtained from a 605fb^{-1} data sample that contains 657 million B-anti-B pairs collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+e- collider.

Abstract: We present a new measurement of the e(+)e(-)-> J/psi c(c)over bar cross section where the c(c)over bar pair can fragment either into charmed hadrons or a charmonium state. In the former case the J/psi and a charmed hadron are reconstructed, while the latter process is measured using the recoil mass technique, which allows the identification of two-body final states without reconstruction of one of the charmonia. The measured e(+)e(-)-> J/psi c(c)over bar cross section is (0.74 +/- 0.08(-0.08)(+0.09)) pb, and the e(+)e(-)-> J/psi Xnon-c(c)over bar cross section is (0.43 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.09) pb. We note that the measured cross sections are obtained from a data sample with the multiplicity of charged tracks in the event larger than 4; corrections for the effect of this requirement are not performed as this cannot be done in a model-independent way. The analysis is based on a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 673 fb(-1) recorded near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) asymmetric-energy collider.

Abstract: We study B --K(*)l+l- decays (l = e, mu) based on a data sample of 657 x 10(6) BB pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. We report the differential branching fraction, isospin asymmetry, K* polarization, and the forward-backward asymmetry (A(FB)) as functions of q2 = M(ll)(2)c2. The fitted A(FB) spectrum exceeds the standard model expectation by 2.7 standard deviations. The measured branching fractions are B(B --K*l+l-) = (10.7(-1.0)(+1.1) +/- 0.9) x 10(-7) and B(B --Kl+l-) = (4.8(-0.4)(+0.5) +/- 0.3) x 10(-7), where the first errors are statistical and the second are systematic, with the muon to electron ratios R(K*) = 0.83 +/- 0.17 +/- 0.08 and R(K) = 1.03 +/- 0.19 +/- 0.06.

Abstract: We report the first observation of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D_{s};{+}-->K;{+}K;{+}pi;{-} using 605 fb;{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e;{+}e;{-} collider. The branching ratio with respect to its Cabibbo-favored counterpart B(D_{s};{+}-->K;{+}K;{+}pi;{-})/B(D_{s};{+}-->K;{+}K;{-}pi;{+}) is (0.229+/-0.028+/-0.012)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. We also report a significantly improved measurement of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D;{+}-->K;{+}pi;{+}pi;{-}, with a branching ratio B(D;{+}-->K;{+}pi;{+}pi;{-})/B(D;{+}-->K;{-}pi;{+}pi;{+})=(0.569+/-0.018+/-0.014)%.

Abstract: We study the charmless decays $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}h$, where $h$ stands for ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$, ${K}^{+}$, ${K}^{0}$,${K}^{*+}$, or ${K}^{*0}$, using a $605\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ data sample collected at the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. We observe ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{K}^{0}$ and ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{K}^{*0}$ with branching fractions of $({4.76}_{\ensuremath{-}0.68}^{+0.84}(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.61(\mathrm{syst}))\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$ and $({2.46}_{\ensuremath{-}0.72}^{+0.87}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.34)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$, respectively. The significances of these signals in the threshold-mass enhanced mass region, ${M}_{\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}l2.85\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/{c}^{2}$, are $12.4\ensuremath{\sigma}$ and $9.3\ensuremath{\sigma}$, respectively. We also update the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}({B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{K}^{+})=({3.38}_{\ensuremath{-}0.36}^{+0.41}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.41)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$ with better accuracy, and report the following measurement or 90% confidence level upper limit in the threshold-mass-enhanced region: $\mathcal{B}({B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{K}^{*+})=({2.19}_{\ensuremath{-}0.88}^{+1.13}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.33)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$ with $3.7\ensuremath{\sigma}$ significance; $\mathcal{B}({B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})l0.94\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$. A related search for ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{\overline{D}}^{0}$ yields a branching fraction $\mathcal{B}({B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{\overline{D}}^{0})=({1.05}_{\ensuremath{-}0.44}^{+0.57}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.14)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}5}$. This may be compared with the large, $\ensuremath{\sim}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$, branching fraction observed for ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}{\overline{D}}^{0}$. The ${M}_{\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}$ enhancements near threshold and related angular distributions for the observed modes are also reported.

This highly pure Bs0→Ds-π+ sample is used to measure the branching fraction, B(Bs0→Ds-π+)=[3.67-0.33+0.35(stat)-0. 42+0.43(syst)±0.49(fs)]×10-3 (fs=NBs(*)Bs(*)/ Nbb) and the fractions of Bs0 event types at the Υ(5S) energy, in particular NBs*Bs*/NBs(*)Bs(*)=(90.1-4.0+3. 8±0.2)%. We also determine the masses M(Bs0)=(5364.4±1.3±0. 7)MeV/c2 and M(Bs*)=(5416.4±0.4±0.5)MeV/c2. In addition, we observe Bs0→Ds K± decays with a significance of 3.5σ and measure B(Bs0→Ds K±)=[2.4-1.0+1.2(stat)±0.3(syst)±0. 3(fs)]×10-4. © 2009 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We search for lepton flavor and lepton number violating tau decays into a lepton (ell = electron or muon) and two charged mesons (h,h' = pi^\pm or K^\pm), tau- -> ell-h+h'- and tau- -> ell+h-h'-, using 671 fb^{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We obtain 90% C.L. upper limits on the branching fractions in the range (4.4-8.8)x10^{-8} for tau -> ehh', and (3.3-16)x10^{-8} for tau -> muhh' processes. These results improve upon previously published upper limits by factors between 1.6 to 8.8., 15 page, 7 figures, submitted to Phys. Lett. B

Abstract: We report the first measurement of CP-violation parameters in B^0 -> K_S^0\rho^0\gamma decays based on 657 million B\bar B pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. We measure the time-dependent CP violating parameter S_{K_S^0\rho^0\gamma}= 0.11 +/- 0.33(stat.)^{+0.05}_{-0.09}(syst.). We also obtain the effective direct CP violating parameter A_eff=0.05 +/- 0.18(stat.) +/- 0.06(syst.) for m_{K_S\pi^+\pi^-}

Abstract: We present the results of a study of the charmless vector-vector decay B-0 -> omega K*(0) with 657 X 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. We measure the branching fraction to be B(B-0 -> omega K*(0)) = [1.8 +/- 0.7(stat) +/- 0.3(syst)] X 10(-6) with 3.0 sigma significance. We also perform a helicity analysis of the omega and K*(0) vector mesons, and obtain the longitudinal polarization fraction f(L)(B-0 -> omega K*(0)) = 0.56 +/- 0.29(stat)(-0.08)(+0.18)(syst). Finally, we measure a large nonresonant branching fraction B[B-0 -> omega K+ pi(-); M-K pi is an element of (0.755, 1.250) GeV/c(2)] = [5.1 +/- 0.7(stat) +/- 0.7(syst)] X 10(-6) with a significance of 9.5 sigma.

Abstract: We report on a search for the decay $B^0\to\rho^0\rho^0$ and other charmless modes with a $\pi^+\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-$ final state, including $B^0\to\rho^0\pi^+\pi^-$, non-resonant $B^0\to 4\pi^{\pm}$, $B^0\to\rho^0f_0(980)$, $B^0\to f_0(980)f_0(980)$ and $B^0\to f_0(980)\pi^+\pi^-$. These results are obtained from a data sample containing 657 million $B \overline B$ pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. We set an upper limit on $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to\rho^0\rho^0)$ of $1.0\times 10^{-6}$ at the 90% confidence level (C.L.). From our $B^0\to\rho^0\rho^0$ measurement and an isospin analysis, we determine the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa phase $\phi_2$ to be $91.7 \pm 14.9$ degrees. We find excesses in $B^0\to \rho^0\pi^+\pi^-$ and non-resonant $B^0\to 4\pi^{\pm}$ with 1.3$\sigma$ and 2.5$\sigma$ significance, respectively. The corresponding branching fractions are less than $12.0 \times 10^{-6}$ and $19.3 \times 10^{-6}$ at the 90% C.L. In addition, we set 90% C.L. upper limits as follows: $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to\rho^0f_0(980))< 0.3 \times 10^{-6}$, $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to f_0(980)f_0(980))< 0.1 \times 10^{-6}$, and $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to f_0(980)\pi^+\pi^-)< 3.8 \times 10^{-6}$.

Abstract: We have studied B_(s);(0)--D_(s);(-)pi;(+) and B_(s);(0)--D_(s);(-/+)K;(+/-) decays using 23.6 fb;(-1) of data collected at the Upsilon(5S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e;(+)e;(-) collider. This highly pure B_(s);(0)--D_(s);(-)pi;(+) sample is used to measure the branching fraction, B(B_(s);(0)--D_(s);(-)pi;(+))=[3.67_(-0.33);(+0.35)(stat)-0.42+0.43(syst)+/-0.49(f_(s))]x10;(-3) (f_(s)=N_(B_(s);((*))B[over ]_(s);((*)))/N_(bb[over ])) and the fractions of B_(s);(0) event types at the Upsilon(5S) energy, in particular N_(B_(s);(*)B[over ]_(s);(*))/N_(B_(s);((*))B[over ]_(s);((*)))=(90.1_(-4.0);(+3.8)+/-0.2)%. We also determine the masses M(B_(s);(0))=(5364.4+/-1.3+/-0.7) MeV/c;(2) and M(B_(s);(*))=(5416.4+/-0.4+/-0.5) MeV/c;(2). In addition, we observe B_(s);(0)--D_(s);(-/+)K;(+/-) decays with a significance of 3.5sigma and measure B(B_(s);(0)--D_(s);(-/+)K;(+/-))=[2.4_(-1.0);(+1.2)(stat)+/-0.3(syst)+/-0.3(f_(s))]x10;(-4).

Abstract: Using the previous Belle measurement of the inclusive photon energy in B→Xsγ decays, we determine the first and second moments of this spectrum for minimum photon energies in the B meson rest frame ranging from 1.8 to 2.3 GeV. Combining these measurements with recent Belle data on the lepton energy and hadronic mass moments in B→Xclν decays, we perform fits to theoretical expressions derived in the 1S and kinetic mass schemes and extract the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element Vcb, the b-quark mass, and other nonperturbative parameters. In the 1S scheme analysis we find |Vcb|=(41.56±0.68(fit)±0.08(τB))×10-3 and mb1S=(4.723±0.055)GeV. In the kinetic scheme, we obtain |Vcb|=(41.58±0.69(fit)±0.08(τB)±0.58(th))×10-3 and mbkin=(4.543±0.075)GeV. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present the results of a study of the charmless vector-vector decay B0--omegaK*0 with 657 x 10(6) BB pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. We measure the branching fraction to be B(B0--omegaK*0) = [1.8+/-0.7(stat)+/-0.3(syst)]x 10(-6) with 3.0sigma significance. We also perform a helicity analysis of the omega and K*0 vector mesons, and obtain the longitudinal polarization fraction fL(B0--omegaK*0) = 0.56+/-0.29(stat) -0.08(+0.18)(syst). Finally, we measure a large nonresonant branching fraction B[B0--omegaK+pi(-);M Kpi in(0.755,1.250) GeV/c2] = [5.1+/-0.7(stat)+/-0.7(syst)]x 10(-6) with a significance of 9.5sigma.
