This article presents a case study of a 72-year-old woman with pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS), a rare benign disorder of the synovium. The woman underwent a [68Ga]Ga-fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI)-04 PET/CT scan, which revealed intense and inhomogeneous FAPI uptake in both knees, indicating PVNS. The study highlights the potential value of [68Ga]Ga-FAPI in detecting PVNS, although further research is needed to determine its specificity. Background: Anteromedial tibial plateau fracture with posterolateral corner (PLC) injury is a relatively rare combined injury in the clinic. In addition, there is no unified treatment scheme for this combined injury. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical and imaging results of single-stage arthroscopic-assisted surgery for anteromedial tibial plateau fracture with PLC injury, and to explore the advantages of this surgical technique.Method: In this retrospective study, a total of 9 patients (7 males and 2 females) were included, aged 24-64 years (average 40.7 years), treated in our Department of Orthopedics from January 2016 to January 2021. In the preoperative evaluations, there were 9 cases of anteromedial tibial plateau fractures with PLC injuries, 6 cases of concomitant PCL injuries, 6 cases of concomitant medial or lateral meniscus injuries, and 2 cases of concomitant fibular head avulsion fractures. All patients underwent single-stage arthroscopic-assisted surgery.Results: All patients were followed up, and the average follow-up period was 15.2 months (range 12-18 months). The average operation time was 135.6 min (range 100-160 min), and the average surgical blood loss was 87.2 ml (range 60-110 ml). The anatomical reduction was achieved in 9 cases, and the anatomical reduction rate was 100%. The average fracture healing time was 13.1 weeks (range 12-16 weeks). At the last follow-up, the average VAS score was 1 (range 0-2); the average Lysholm function score was 90.7 (range 86-95), and the average IKDC score was 91.4 (range 88-95); the average knee extension angle of all patients was 0° and the average knee flexion angle was 128.3° (average 120-135°); The posterior drawer test, the Lachman test and the dial test were negative for all cases. None of the patients had operation-related complications.Conclusion: Single-stage arthroscopy-assisted surgery in the treatment of anteromedial tibial plateau fracture with PLC injury can achieve good clinical outcomes, restore the stability of the knee joint, and reduce the risk of severe lower extremity dysfunction. • IL-1beta, IL-2, IL-5, CD40L and HGF were elevated simultaneously in both AIS and hemorrhagic stroke patients. • IL-2R, IL-10, IL-16, MIP-3alpha and MMP-1 were differentially expressed in AIS patients compared to control group. • IL-6, IL-7, IL-20, IL-21, BAFF, BLC, IFN-alpha, MIP-1alpha and TRAIL were uniquely varied in hemorrhagic stroke patients compared to control group. • IL-6 and TNF-beta were found to be key cytokines among the 65 inflammatory factors to distinguish cerebral hemorrhage from cerebral ischemia. Sufficient understanding of the systemic inflammatory response after stroke will make the therapeutic strategy targeting inflammation more feasible. Here, we aimed to identify the globally alterations of circulating cytokines in super-acute ischemic stroke (AIS). A broad panel of 65 cytokines was measured in the plasma of twenty-eight AIS patients within 6 h after stroke onset (n = 28), cerebral hemorrhagic patients (n = 28) and healthy controls (n = 18). The diagnostic power of the candidate cytokines and their relationship with the number of lymphocytes and neutrophils were analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) and spearman rank correlation respectively. The expression level of plasma IL-1beta, IL-2, IL-2R, IL-5, IL-10, CD40L, HGF, MIP-3alpha and MMP-1 were obviously up-regulated, while IL-16 was down-regulated in AIS patients compared to healthy controls. Among them, IL-2R, IL-10, IL-16, MIP-3alpha, and MMP-1 were specially altered in AIS patients, while IL-1beta, IL-2, IL-5, CD40L and HGF were elevated simultaneously in AIS and hemorrhagic stroke patients. Interestingly, IL-6 and TNF-beta were found to be key facytors among the 65 cytokines to distinguish hemorrhage from ischemia. Furthermore, IL-1beta, IL-16, CD40L and HGF were obviously correlated with the number of lymphocytes, and IL-1beta and IL-16 were significantly associated with the number of neutrophils in AIS patients. These results suggest that lymphocytes and neutrophils associated inflammation may play a pivotal role in AIS. Importantly, except for some mutual pathological processes, AIS and hemorrhage had their own distinctive pathogenesis, and transformation of this knowledge to further research may provide novel treatment strategy for AIS. Older people with dementia manifest emotional and behavioral symptoms (EBS), such as emotion disorders, environmental adaptation problems, sleep disorders, limited mobility, etc. The indoor visual environment (IVE) in care and attention (C&A) homes may relieve or aggravate those EBS. To improve the IVE in C&A homes and satisfy the special requirements of older people with dementia, this study investigated the impact of the IVE in C&A homes on the EBS in older residents with mild to moderate dementia. The predesigned questionnaire survey was carried out among 100 participants with dementia living in C&A homes, and the interview was conducted with 12 staff members with different positions. An IVE–EBS model was established using various statistical analysis methods. The verified model demonstrated that the space, view out, window, furniture, door, and color significantly influenced the EBS in older people with dementia. Practical recommendations were proposed, including 1) relatively small space and unblocked vision for enhancing their confidence to move around; 2) a quiet view out with greenery, aesthetic scene, and broad perspective; 3) a window-to-floor ratio of the activity room higher than 1:4; 4) wooden furniture for a warm atmosphere; 5) dementia-friendly door wraps to improve the unique features of the doors; 6) a CCT of 2500K–3000K to promote older adults with dementia sleep well in the evening. • An IVE–EBS model for older people with dementia is established. • Three visual space factors affect positive emotions, sleep disorders and mobility. • Two interior design factors influence positive emotions and homelike feeling. • A lighting condition factor, color, impacts negative emotions and sleep disorders.
