Oral hygiene is an important aspect for the well-being of an individual which could be achieved by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. As oral cavity is an open gateway for various microorganisms, multiple complications can occur due to entry of pathogenic microbes through mouth and accumulation in the oral cavity resulting in deterioration of teeth gradually. The saliva produced in the mouth contains various enzymes which possess antibacterial activity. Oral health loss may lead to one or many of the complications such as oral infection, oral cancer, radiating pain, periodontal diseases, tooth loss, and tooth decay. Therefore, maintenance of proper oral health is fundamental for “adding years to life and life to years” any negligence may cause severe complications in the long run.
