The ZINC database of commercially available compounds contains biologically relevant representations of purchasable compounds in ready‐to‐screen formats. ZINC uses catalogs from over 50 compound vendors, changing from time to time to reflect newly available compounds and depleted stock. ZINC is available in subsets that reflect current opinion in the field such as “fragment‐like” and “lead‐like,” and has a facility to create additional small ad hoc subsets. To the Editor:—I do not believe that advertising in a daily newspaper and in the physician's waiting room, and the sale to the highest bidder of his unpaid accounts, as advocated by physicians and noted under "Editorial Comments" in the September issue of the Journal of the Michigan State Medical Society, is the proper remedy for people who do not pay their physician. A more radical one is needed. Since the physician must consummate one of the great fundamental instincts of human life, that of self-preservation, or making a living, why not strike at the root of the evil, calling a spade a spade, and not beat around the bush? The health of the physician, which is his greatest asset, suffers by the fatigue of long hours in trying to conserve human life. The fi Lyrae-type eclipsing binary SV Cen has been observed photoelectrically and spectroscopically at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory and is also a double-lined spectroscopic binary. The primary component has the UBV colors of a reddened B1 star, a mass of 9.4, and a mean radius of 6.5 in solar units; the same data for the secondary component are B2, 11.1, and 6.6. There is evidence from the light curves that 22% of the light comes from a third component not seen spectroscopically at primary minimum. The period has decreased 0.14% in the last 75 years and is still decreasing. The variation of period could be caused by orbital motion about a mass of approximately 250,000 solar masses but this hypothesis is also ruled out by radial velocity considerations. The 33.6-year periodicity of the secondary fluctuation in period as studied by O'Connell is not confirmed by the recent times of minima. There is no spectroscopic evidence of gas streams or shells.
