However, its effect on the proliferation of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) remains largely unknown.Purpose: The objective of this study was to investigate the expression pattern and function of FRK in ccRCC. We further determined how FRK interacted with other molecules to regulate ccRCC proliferation.Patients and methods: The expression of FRK in ccRCC samples and paired normal renal tissues from 30 patients were analyzed by immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry and quantitative PCR. Then the role of FRK in ccRCC proliferation was analyzed by Cell Counting Kit-8, colony formation assay and EdU incorporation assay. In addition, the miRNA targeting FRK was predicted through a bioinformatic approach and validated by quantitative PCR, immunoblotting and luciferase reporter assay. Finally, the underlying mechanism of FRK regulation of ccRCC proliferation was also determined.Results: Low expression of FRK was detected in ccRCC samples and predicted poor survival for ccRCC patients. FRK inhibited the proliferation of ccRCC cells via phosphorylating downstream PTEN. miR-19 was identified as a novel suppressor of FRK in renal cancer cells and it promoted the proliferation of ccRCC by inhibiting the FRK–PTEN axis.Conclusion: Our results unravel a new regulatory mechanism involved in ccRCC proliferation and may be useful in the identification of therapeutic targets for ccRCC. Abstract

Domain-specific Knowledge Graph in Military Field is a bridge to connect all kinds of battle factors, such as combat forces, command system, weapon platforms. It’s also an important means to break through the information gap between different areas of different services. Most of the existing knowledge graph is general knowledge graph for general fields, but there is no mature method of knowledge graph construction and expression for the industry data of military specific fields. So based on the special needs for military knowledge acquisition, storage, representation, query and other technologies in the future information and intelligent operations, and application scenarios, this paper discusses the current opportunities and challenges of the knowledge graph in military domain. Then the construction of knowledge graph in military domain and application technology framework are proposed.

Abstract

A nitrogen/sulfur-doped porous carbon material (NSPC) was synthesized using petroleum asphalt as both carbon and sulfur sources, and graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) as a template and nitrogen source. Its use as the counter electrode (CE) of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) was investigated. Results indicated that g-C3N4 was totally decomposed during carbonization, giving the NSPC abundant N dopants and nanopores. The NSPC had a high electrocatalytic activity for the reduction of I3- without any Pt catalyst and delivered a high power conversion efficiency of 7.91% as the CE of a DSSC, which is slightly superior to that of Pt CE. The NSPC had an ultrahigh pore volume (4.49 cm3/g) and excellent wettability, providing abundant accessible surface area and facilitated the fast mass transport of reactants. NSPC has potential as a low-cost and efficient CE material for the large-scale use of DSSCs, and provides a new way to add value to low-cost petroleum asphalt.

333. Evaluation of Land Surface Phenology in Northern Hemisphere Permafrost Regions

Abstract

Vegetation phenology interacts strongly with climate through the exchange of carbon, water, momentum, and energy between terrestrial ecosystem and atmosphere. These vegetation dynamics in Northern Hemisphere permafrost regions have substantial uncertainties in previous studies, partly due to differences in datasets. Thus, reliable land surface phenology (LSP) retrievals are crucial for understanding the effects of climate change on ecosystems and biosphere‐atmosphere‐hydrosphere interactions. We assessed various LSP datasets at different spatial resolutions for 2001–2014, generated by different methods based on different satellite observations. We also assessed the accuracy of LSP by comparing with CO2flux phenology. For start of growing season (SOS), the comprehensive evaluation indicated MODIS phenology showed better consistency and higher accuracy with flux‐derived phenology observations (R= 0.54, RMSE = 36.2 days, bias<5 days). For end of growing season (EOS), we cannot conclusively determine which LSP performs best. In the Northern Hemisphere permafrost regions, SOS occurred at 100–150 days (April–May), and EOS occurred at 260–320 days (September–November). During 2001–2014, SOS occurred earlier by 0.33 ± 0.30 days/yr. Significant trends were observed for 6.4%–27.6% of pixels, averaging −1.30 ± 1.16 days/yr. EOS occurred earlier by 0.25 ± 0.43 days/yr, with significant trends averaging −0.52 ± 0.94 days/yr. Among LSPs, variability in EOS trends was significant, with even the direction of trends differing. This study may provide insights into LSP data selection and further understanding of vegetation dynamics and its mechanisms in permafrost regions. To better understand permafrost ecosystem dynamics associated with global change, the changes in vegetation and their spatial patterns in the Northern Hemisphere permafrost regions must be carefully evaluated. Thus, reliable land surface phenology (LSP) retrievals are very important. We therefore collected a total of 13 LSPs to understand how these products perform relative to each other and to ground observations and to quantify their uncertainties. MODIS and different GIMMS products are slightly more consistent overall. Considering different metrics, regions, and parameters, the temporal trends and spatial patterns of phenology indicate an earlier start to the growing season, but the end of the growing season is inconsistent. Bigger vegetation changes are found in the continuous permafrost region. These findings allow us to clarify the applicability of the LSP products, to provide a reference for data selection, and insights into the understanding of vegetation dynamics and their mechanisms in permafrost regions. Abstract

A series of La-based metal−organic frameworks (La-MOFs) phosphors have been successfully synthesized by a facile solvothermal method without assistance of any surfactant or template. The results show that the ethanol volume ratio is important to obtain adjustable shape and size of La-MOFs in the synthesis process. The obtained samples possess flake-like architectures with about 3–5 μm in length. Under UV excitation, all the La-MOFs:Tb3+, Eu3+ phosphors exhibit the characteristic emissions of Tb3+ and Eu3+. Moreover, the emitting color of the as-obtained products can be acquired from green, green-yellow, yellow, yellow-orange, orange, to red owing to the efficient energy transfer (ET) between Tb3+ and Eu3+ions. The ET efficiency of the samples was calculated, and the maximum was found about 96.84%. Furthermore, the dipole–quadrupole interaction has been reasonable proved by the energy transfer between Tb3+ and Eu3+. These results indicated that La-MOFs:Tb3+, Eu3+ might be as a novel potential candidate as phosphors for displays and lightings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Different from traditional hotels, hosts' affinity is an essential feature of homestays. This study uncovers how Airbnb hosts demonstrate their affinity online through the data from 114,310 listings, and examines the relationship between hosts' affinity and the number of reviews, as well as the moderating role of hosts' affinity in the associations among sub-ratings, host listings count, and the number of reviews. The findings indicate a positive link between hosts' affinity and the number of reviews. Guests tend to assign higher overall scores to homestays with poor performance but high affinity, and may alter their homestay attribute requirements in future reservation decisions. Hosts' affinity from guest reviews has greater direct and moderating effects on the number of reviews than hosts' self-statements. Interestingly, hosts' affinity from guest reviews can reduce the guests' requirements for homestay attributes of multiple listings. Meanwhile, hosts' affinity displayed by host self-statements exhibits the opposite moderating effects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
