The procedure reconstructs the original distributions of mineral liberation, on the basis of areal or linear information, by modelling with integral geometry. Few assumptions about particle shape or ore texture are required and those that are made are justified. The procedure was applied to the correction of areal liberation data that were generated by the simulated sectioning of spheres that exhibited simple locking (i.e. with just one interface between the phases). The results indicated that it has problems with narrow composition ranges and irregular liberation distributions.
