- Abstract
Undoubtedly, the COVID-19 pandemic has left an indelible mark on every aspect of human life, and, perhaps most significantly, on the operation of the world's economy. Restrictions and limitations on freedom of movement had a clear impact on the ways in which companies and households functioned, and consumer behaviors and purchasing habits were demonstrably influenced in turn. Thus, the aim of this article is to illustrate these changes in light of the pandemic and, moreover, to highlight the related challenges pertaining to purchasing practices and consumer concerns. The study sample focused on students from Poland and Turkey, with data gathered using an online survey method. The resulting data were subsequently analyzed with the SPSS 26 program. The application of Pearson Chi-Square methods, as well as the analysis of descriptive statistics such as percentage and frequency, revealed significant differences between the two countries. As a result of the comparative analysis, clear differences were demonstrated in the nature of changes in consumer behavior between respondents from Turkey and Poland, most strikingly, the fact that the purchasing habits of respondents in Turkey have changed to a greater extent. It has been observed that limitations imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic had a greater impact on consumer behavior, particularly for students in Turkey. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of paper is to explain the justification of the phenomenon of entrepreneurship orientation towards the market needs of consumers has always been a challenge for companies, especially in the period of the Covid 19 pandemic, where the unpredictable situation affects consumer behavior. The paper uses an exploring quantitative method with a deductive approach. The method of analysis was done through the analysis of descriptive statistics of response frequencies, where the factor analysis of variables was later performed, as well as their consequences against each other through regression analysis. It has been proven that business results expressed in profit growth depend on the application of entrepreneurship driven by customer market behavior. Entrepreneurship driven by customer market behavior is related to the development of new products and the conquest of new markets, and that employee satisfaction contributes to customer orientation. The research results shows that companies in the SEEC companies build customer orientation taking into account four factors: concern for customer satisfaction, noticing changes in the environment, market research and the reaction of companies. This paper focuses on strategic corporate financial decisions related to capital structure to increased firm value, moderated by the COVID-19 pandemic under MM theory, trade-off theory, and pecking order theory. The analytical method used is panel data analysis, with observations of 1828 non-financial companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from the years 2019 to 2021. The results show that there is an effect of capital structure on firm value in a positive direction, and the moderating role of the COVID-19 pandemic weakens the effect of capital structure on firm value. The findings show that capital structure only has a significant effect on firm value for the debt-dominant group, but not for the equity-dominant group. The moderating effect of the COVID-19 pandemic affects firm value for the debt-dominant group, but not for the equity-dominant group. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

TALENT management ,STATE governments ,COVID-19 pandemic ,JOB performance ,HUMAN capital - Abstract
Government of Malaysia is emphasizing on development of talent in the public sector, as it is the most significant resource for the federal and state services. Even though, the government has invested in various programs and initiatives to develop and produce key talented human capital, Malaysia is still short of talented people and struggling to develop talent, and talented skillful people are leaving. The aim of this research is to identify talent management practices affecting state government employees and to develop a conceptual framework explaining their relationships. Previous literature reveals that there is a positive relationship between talent acquisition, talent development and talent retention, and employee performance. Although the relationships among the four constructs have been extensively studied in the extant literature, this research is one of the few, if any, in investigating the constructs in state government agencies or local authorities in Malaysia. If empirically supported, the proposed framework may provide an effective alternative in assisting state government agencies at attracting and nurturing talented workers. Ultimately, this research proposes the policy in talent management for the state government and other government agencies in Malaysia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The article focuses on how parents of school and younger children experienced school closures associated with the Covid-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic. Using an intersectional approach in qualitative research, we examine how parents coped with the increased demands of childcare and how their perception of childcare changed during the pandemic. More generally, we ask whether the pandemic situation was an opportunity for greater recognition and valuation of care. We present an analysis of serial qualitative interviews with 32 solo mothers and 19 parents living in couples that were conducted between the spring of 2020 and the summer of 2021. Parents had a both positive and negative experience of care during the Covid-19 pandemic. The first school closure in the spring of 2020 was perceived as a rather positive opportunity to step outside the course of everyday life. However, as the pandemic continued, the long-term negative effects that the increased care duties during lockdown had on people and especially mothers became apparent: a worsening labour market position, a deteriorating economic situation, and an increasing dependence of women on male breadwinners or on the social support system. The pandemic highlighted the paradox of reproductive work in late capitalism and showed how childcare has no market value in itself. Although in the first period of the pandemic parents experienced care to some extent as an opportunity, a source of meaning, and a rediscovered value, overall the pandemic did not lead to a greater recognition or valuation of care in society. - Abstract
(1) Background: An individual's health status can be perceived as a consequence of their health behaviours. This research aimed to determine the intensity of health-promoting behaviours and to identify factors determining the health behaviours of nursing students during the COVID-19 pandemic. (2) Methods: This study included 894 nursing students from six universities in Poland, and it was conducted between 20 March and 15 December 2021. A diagnostic survey was applied as the research method, and the data were collected using the Health Behaviour Inventory and the Satisfaction With Life Scale. (3) Results: Nearly half of the students participating in the study (48.43%) declared that the intensity of their general health behaviours was low. A positive and significant correlation (r = 0.426) was found between general health behaviours and satisfaction with life. A regression model demonstrated general satisfaction with life to be a predictor of taking up health-related behaviours (18%; β = 0.34), as well as in terms of proper eating habits (4%; β = 0.15), prophylactic behaviours (6%; β = 0.21), positive mental attitudes (26%; β = 0.44) and applied pro-health practices (10%; β = 0.25). (4) Conclusions: Most nursing students showed low levels of health-promoting behaviours. More research is needed on health behaviours and their determinants among nursing students, as it may be important in explaining the mechanisms of health behaviour formation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID-19 pandemic has begun in early 2020 and still continues to strongly affect the entire world delivering a significant global, shock, but varying across countries and commodity sectors. The Government of the Republic of Serbia has been adopting different measures to slow down the dissemination of the coronavirus, specifically nationwide lockdown in March and April 2020. Business activities have been reduced. The pandemic situation has changed the lifestyle as people are mostly staying home and working from home. This paper provides a review of unprecedented impacts of COVID-19 pandemic, with restrictions and lockdown in Serbia, on electricity sector at this stage of the crisis. The outcomes offer a contribution to the body of literature because limited research has been conducted on these relationships in case of Serbia. Sets of statistical indicators are used to analyze changes the electricity sector has been facing. Data visualization is used to compare developments during the pandemic with those of previous years. Our research and data-driven analysis of these impacts should improve the understanding of the techno-economic effects of unforeseen events, such as a pandemic, on the power system, scrutinizing if effects could be relatively short-lived or longer-lasting. The use of digital technology for educational and recreational purposes among adolescents has drastically increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the prolonged isolation and excessive screen time of the social media platforms might lead to mental health issues, particularly the fear of missing out (FOMO). Thus, this study is aimed at exploring the adolescent's screen time and its contribution to FOMO. This study employed a qualitative method using semi-structured interviews with 30 selected adolescents. The data were collected during the third peak of the pandemic period in Malaysia, between the 11th of April 2021 and the 1st of July 2021. The results revealed that there were four issues related to the FOMO: loneliness, life satisfaction, self-disclosures, and social comparison. In short, self-regulation and awareness on the effects of long screen time need to be instilled among the adolescents during the pandemic. Also, it is pivotal to address the psychological needs, such as healthy social interactions in ensuring the adolescents are not inclined toward FOMO. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Combating domestic violence requires an interdisciplinary approach to solving this serious social problem, with law, legal practice and science playing a very important role. Theoretically, it appears as physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence, while the victims are mostly weaker social groups - women, children and the elderly. Numerous international documents, as well as national regulations in the field of family, criminal and misdemeanor law, provide protection against domestic violence, but statistical indicators do not speak in favor of sufficient effectiveness in their application in practice. The COVID-19 pandemic has in a way further intensified the existing ones, but also created new challenges in the fight against domestic violence. Measures of social isolation, unavailability of competent institutions and general uncertainty are just some of the causes that have contributed to the increase in the number of cases of domestic violence, and the possibility of protecting victims of such treatment. Background: Library services must continue in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic and learning is carried out online. SMA Muhammadiyah 1 (Muhi) Yogyakarta Library has innovations in providing services, so that its role is not replaced by other service providers. One of them is by implementing the service without going down (drive thru). The purpose of this study is to analyze the determination of the drive thru service system in the library of SMA Muhi Yogyakarta during the pandemic and to analyze the obstacles experienced. Methods: This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation study. The data validity test was carried out by using the source triangulation test and data analysis was carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Results: The results show that the implementation of the drive thru service system has been carried out since July 2020. The drive thru service is implemented through two mechanisms, namely scheduled and unscheduled. The scheduled drive thru service implementation mechanism is adjusted to the implementation time agreed upon by the library, school leaders, and library users. Meanwhile, the implementation of unscheduled drive thru services is more flexible according to the agreement between the librarian and the user. Conclusion: Each drive thru system has grooves and procedures, making it easier for the user. The obstacles faced in this service lie in the infrastructure provided, limited human resources, and regulations for the implementation of the drive thru service.

The COVID-19 outbreak triggered a sudden transformation in all aspects of life. Inevitably, educational environments were also affected. Previous studies found a sharp drop in student satisfaction and a simultaneous corresponding increase in academic stress when online learning was instituted due to the pandemic. Conversely, academic resilience is considered psychological capital; it enables students to overcome stress and stimulates satisfaction. The interactions of these three variables must thus be collectively examined. This study used the convenience sampling technique to investigate the moderating role of academic resilience vis-à-vis academic stress and student satisfaction with online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were collected via an online questionnaire from a sample of 337 Indonesian undergraduate students aged 18‒32 years recruited for this study. The questionnaire encompassed three measurement instruments: Stressor Scale for College Students (α =.85), Academic Resilience Scale-Indonesian version (α =.89), and Student Satisfaction with Online Learning (α =.90). Linear regression analysis revealed that academic stress exerted a significant negative effect on satisfaction with online learning. Academic resilience was a significant moderator, dampening the effects of academic stress on satisfaction with online learning. The theoretical and practical implications of the research results are also discussed.

Objective. Analysis of the resources for overcoming difficulties by students in connection with the new life experience in the first weeks of self-isolation and distance learning in the context of the CO¬VID-19 pandemic. Background. The study is focused on identifying the current psychological state, the characteristics of the perception of the world, as well as the strategies and resources of the individual to overcome negative aspects in connection with changes in everyday life. Study design. The study was built in the format of a socio-psychological survey to study the lifestyle and psychological state of students in self-isolation. Research was conducted in the middle of April 2020. Participants. 56 people, residents of Russia (8% of men, 92% of women) from 20-23 years old university students of the 2nd (77%) and 5th (23%) courses of psychological specialties (Σav=21.12, Me=21, SD=1.37). Measurements. The research is based on quantitative and qualitative methodology. We used the method of content analysis for written discourses about the lifestyle in connection with self-isolation and the SAN method, which allows one to draw conclusions about the degree of psycho-emotional state. Results. Lifestyle changes were recorded by 93% of respondents. The most transformed spheres are activity (educational) and social. The spatio-temporal characteristics of life are of great importance. Assessments of negative and positive changes show parity. Minor manifestations of anxiety and negative emotional states were revealed. The average and medium-high level of psychoemotional state was recorded. Conclusions. Resources for overcoming difficulties are represented by strategies: 1) “I”: comprehension, self-organization, maintaining physical fitness, self-development; 2) “Others”: help, emotional support for loved ones and strangers; 3) “Living space”: working with the space of the house for arrangement under his “I”, expanding its multifunctionality, maintaining cleanliness.

- Abstract
The purpose of the establishment of the company is to maximize wealth for shareholders. The increase in shareholder and company wealth is represented by firm value. The higher the firm value, the higher the wealth of shareholders. The increase in shareholder wealth through increasing firm value is influenced by several factors, including how efficiently the company is managing its resources. The use of information technology (IT) is believed to increase firm efficiency. The rapid increase in the total confirmed cases and the COVID-19 pandemic affected not only health conditions but also gradually led to a global crisis that affected almost every country around the world. Amid increasing uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic, firm efficiency is needed by companies to survive. This study aims to determine the effect of firm efficiency on firm value. This research was conducted on companies listed on the IDX for the period 2017-2021. This study uses moderating variables in the form of Information Technology (IT) investment and the Covid-19 pandemic. It also uses control variables consisting of company size, financial leverage, and cash holding. The results of this study showed that IT investment has a significant negative effect on firm efficiency. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant negative effect on firm efficiency. Firm efficiency has a positive effect on firm value. This study also finds that IT investment weakens the relationship between firm efficiency and firm value, and the Covid-19 pandemic strengthens the relationship between firm efficiency and firm value.

Purpose – The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the impact of Covid-19 on the macroeconomic indicators and financial performance of Islamic banks in Indonesia. The results of this study may serve as a reference for the Indonesian government and Islamic banks’ stakeholders in formulating strategic decisions in creating innovative solutions during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methodology – Quantitative research method with 2 approaches, namely Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) was selected for this study. Findings – This study demonstrated that macroeconomic indicators were significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the results of the ANN and PLS-SEM models varied. The PLS-SEM model illustrated the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic affecting the performance of Islamic banking, while the ANN model did not. Implication – This research has implications for stakeholders, especially the government to maintain macroeconomic stability, while for Islamic banking management to focus more on product innovation and service excellence so that it can be closer to the public, especially Muslims community. Originality – Numerous studies examining macroeconomics and the financial performance of Islamic banking have been conducted. This study aimed to offer an alternative perspective by using two models, namely PLS-SEM and ANN.

The importance of two related factors _ latitude and solar ultraviolet radiation _ has been insufficiently recognized as determining the spread of pandemic Sars-CoV-2 outbreaks across the globe. In this study we provide evidence of the impact of latitude and investigate how daily RT-PCR diagnosed infections and deaths are quantitively correlated with the UV component of solar light. Here, we present regression analyses using daily national numbers from Austria and from Portugal with daily ultraviolet indexes of two selected locations in these territories, obtained from a satellite source. These countries, have similar surfaces areas and population size but Austria's mean latitude is 9° up-north. The equations derived from regression analyses of those two variables are comparable for both countries, fit best the fall (2nd) pandemic wave and can be a useful non-R(t) (ratio of transmission at a particular time) dependent predictive tool. Similar equations were derived for deaths that follow infections within a few weeks delay. Strong correlations depend on the size of the region/country from which infections are collected, the robustness of screening practices, ideally kept through weekends and holidays. Besides the forecasting usefulness of such correlations, these findings also suggest that covid-19 transmission co-exists with a Sars-Cov-2 specific UV-induced immunosuppression response. While in 2020, intensity of pandemic spring and fall waves reflect a solar UV-light modulation, we relate exceptional low temperature and humidity with additional waves, as the winter 2020/2021 3rd wave, felt in the western European countries. This work may help understanding this Pandemic phenomenon and dealing with similar catastrophes in the future.

Introduction Concerns about health and fitness during lockdown may serve as a trigger for eating disorders in vulnerable individuals. Other risk factors may also include increased use of social networks and comparison with beauty ideals. Isolation, loneliness and problems with emotional regulation may lead people to reduce food intake by giving them a greater sense of control. Objectives Emphasise the relevance of the increase in the incidence of Eating Disorders (ED) cases during the pandemic. Methods Review of the scientific literature based on a relevant clinical case. Results 14-year-old female, residing with her mother. She reports that from the beginning of COVID-19 confinement she became obsessed with leading a healthier life, starting to restrict food, limiting fats and carbohydrates, and having also started compulsive physical activity (approximately 4 hours of aerobic exercise per day), without associated purging behaviours. She also acknowledges eating small amounts (although she minimises this aspect) and controlling all calories, stating that food and practices aimed at “staying healthy” now dominate her life. Her previous BMI was 18, with a current BMI of 11.7. Conclusions Patients suffering from ED, who often have poor knowledge of their illness and find social-emotional communication difficult, may delay seeking help. Studies suggest the relevance of identifying specific vulnerability factors among ED patients in confinement in order to develop preventive strategies and personalised treatment approaches. Disclosure No significant relationships.

Successive waves of the pandemic observed in Europe and around the world demonstrate the dramatic working conditions of medical staff. Constant exposure to dangerous SARS-Cov-2 virus undoubtedly affects the medical community's sense of security in terms of functioning in the workplace. The year 2020 demonstrated the unstable condition of information-related conditions that we live in. In an age of near-instant communication in the form of the Internet and other types of communicators, citizens received various, most often contradictory and untrue information concerning the virus, the pandemic conditions, and the principles of safe functioning in them. It seems, however, that medical specialists, due to their education and occupations, are among the best prepared in terms of knowledge, out of all professions. In addition to knowledge concerning the virus itself, these specialists also understand where to look for reliable information concerning the latest scientific reports on the pandemic. The article aims to present the views of medical workers regarding their sense of health security in relation to access to knowledge and information about the COVID-19 pandemic and their functioning in the work environment. The results of the research reveal positive dependencies between the access of knowledge and information and healthcare professionals sense of health security. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Until now, the processes of global regionalisation have not been adequately reflected in the formation of systemic approaches to the management of financial relations within the Eurasian Economic Union. It leads to the search for new financial policy mechanisms necessary to stimulate the economies of the EAEU countries in the context of emerging economic and geopolitical constraints, as well as the creation of the necessary prerequisites for industrial cooperation in the context of anti-Russian sanctions and de-globalisation trends intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, the vulnerability of the economies of the EAEU member states is due to their extreme dependence on external extra-regional demand, international capital and technology markets, as well as international settlement and payment systems based on the US dollar. The study is based on a dialectical approach. In conducting the research, we used general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, generalisation, as well as methods of systemic, historical-logical and comparative analysis. The contradictory nature of the development of the world economy at the present stage was revealed. The role of the EDB in creating conditions for sustainable development of the EAEU member states has been substantiated. Changes in the structure of the EDB’s investment portfolio were analysed. The advantages and disadvantages of the EDB’s current activities in the context of the implementation of the Bank’s Strategy for 2018–2020 were summarised. Comparative characteristics of financing of EDB member countries through multilateral development banks were presented. The impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic on the current and future activities of the EDB was shown.

Introduction: Stress is an inseparable element of nurses' work. It is also the cause of wellbeing disorders and the source of various diseases. The wellbeing and health of nurses has a direct impact on the quality of care and health outcomes for patients. An appropriate stress coping strategy can reduce the impact of stress and mitigate its negative consequences. The COVID-19 pandemic, especially in its initial period, was a source of enormous additional stress for nurses. In Poland and Belarus: two neighboring countries with common history and similar culture, the authorities took a completely different approach to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare how nurses in Poland and Belarus cope with stress during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and Method: The cross-sectional study was conducted among 284 nurses working in hospital in Bialystok, Poland (158) and in Grodno, Belarus (126). Mini-Cope inventory - the polish adaptation of Carver's BriefCope was used for measuring coping with stress. Results: Only 17.5% of Belarusian nurses were tested for the presence of the virus and only 4.8% were infected, while in Poland it was 50.6 and 31.0%, respectively. The most frequent used coping strategies were active strategies (active coping, planning) and the least-used were avoidance strategies (behavioral disengagement, substance use) in both countries. Polish nurses significantly more often than Belorussian used support-seeking/emotion-oriented strategies, as well as avoidance strategies. No differences were found for active coping strategies between the both groups. Contact with a patient infected with the SARS-CoV2 virus did not influence the choice of stress coping strategies by nurses in both countries. Staying in quarantine or home isolation favored more active coping strategies, especially in the case of Belarusian nurses. Taking a SARS-CoV-2 test did not statistically differentiate the choice of coping strategies in the Belarusian group. In the Polish group, nurses with a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result used both use of instrumental support and use of emotional support strategies less frequently. SARS-CoV-2 virus infection did not statistically differentiated how stressful situations were handled in Polish group. Conclusions: Polish and Belorussian nurses used similar strategies to cope with stress in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The social and demographic differences between Polish and Belorussian nurses differentiated the choice of coping strategies among the respondents to a greater extent than the completely different approach of the media and authorities to the COVID-19 pandemic in the two countries. The threat of the COVID-19 pandemic does not affect the choice of stress coping strategies by nurses in Poland and Belarus. Being in quarantine or home isolation favored the use of active coping strategies among Belorussian nurses. Polish nurses, on the other hand, were more likely to turn to religion after being quarantined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the lives of undergraduate students around the world. Knowing its effects on mental health and behavior will be a priority for years to come. Due to the multiple negative effects that confinement by the COVID-19 pandemic has brought, this study aims to provide new scientific evidence that will allow a better understanding of the effects of the experience of loneliness caused by this pandemic. Based on the procedural model of emotion regulation created by Gross, the objective of this research was to analyze the direct and indirect relations between the experience of loneliness, maladaptive emotion regulation strategies (rumination, avoidance, suppression, catastrophizing, and self-blame) and anxiety in a sample of Mexican undergraduate students. Based on this goal, it was hypothesized that maladaptive emotion regulation strategies would mediate the relation between loneliness and anxiety. To achieve this purpose, a total of 824 undergraduate students participated in the present research. In addition to providing their sociodemographic data, they answered the De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, the Cognitive-Behavioral Avoidance Scale, the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, and the Beck Anxiety Inventory. In order to carry out the mediating analysis, a structural equation model was created which included three latent variables (loneliness, maladaptive emotion regulation strategies and anxiety). This model was tested using the Lavaan software. The indirect effects were analyzed using the bootstrapping method. The results showed that maladaptive emotional regulation strategies had a mediating role which was positive and significant in the relation between loneliness and anxiety. Regarding the measurement model, confirmatory factor analysis was used to test the measurement model comprising the three latent variables. Results showed that the measurement model fit the observed data appropriately. Furthermore, with the purpose of examining the validity of the measurement model, the average variance extracted and square root of the average variance extracted were calculated. Findings indicated that the average variance extracted for each construct was higher than all the squared correlations involving that construct. This confirmed the discriminant validity of all variables of study. Regarding the structural model, results showed acceptable data fit. The model explained 48 % of the variance in anxiety. The structural equation analysis revealed that loneliness was related positively with maladaptive emotion regulation strategies. Similarly, maladaptive emotion regulation strategies were associated positively with anxiety. Likewise, it was possible to confirm the main hypothesis of this study which stated that maladaptive emotion regulation strategies would mediate the influence of loneliness on anxiety among Mexican university students. Finally, it was confirmed that loneliness had a nonsignificant direct effect on anxiety. Regarding the contribution of each of the five maladaptive emotion regulation strategies, rumination had a significant function in the mediating process showing that loneliness had an impact on anxiety via the continuous thoughts that participants had about their own emotions. In turn, because of the strategy of catastrophizing, participants intensified their thoughts and emotions waiting for the worse scenario which in turn increased their levels of anxiety. Likewise, the strategies of avoidance and suppression had also a significant contribution on the mediating role of maladaptive strategies. Finally, the strategy of self-blame was a significant contribution to the mediating function. Therefore, with the purpose of controlling emotions associated with loneliness, it was possible that participants could blame themselves as a mechanism to regulate their emotions. In conclusion, these findings reveal the presence of a mediating effect by showing that loneliness was indirectly related to anxiety via its relation with maladaptive emotion regulation strategies. - Abstract
Quality and efficient long-distance transport as a key system of public passenger transport could be the basis for the national and international comprehensive integrated transport system. Especially due to the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 disease, the demand for long-distance transport has significantly decreased since March 2020 in the Slovak Republic on the busiest long-distance line Bratislava–Žilina–Košice. It is, therefore, necessary to propose various measures in order to increase this demand and bring passenger frequencies to at least the level of values before this period. This paper analyzes the impact of the measures on passenger frequencies in 2020, examining the amount of their fall in individual months of the first half of the year 2020 on the long-distance route Bratislava–Žilina–Košice. Furthermore, the paper deals with the long-term concept of national long-distance passenger rail transport on the mentioned line in the period after the end of the pandemic. It uses scientific methods enabling to rationalize and optimize current train timetables. The benefits of these proposals will be to offer passengers better transport services, with their frequencies expected to increase in the coming years. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Vitamin D (25-Hydroxyvitamin D3 [25(OH)D3]) has an important role in the immune system. This study aimed to assess the relationship between 25-Hydroxyvitamin D3 and disease activity in Indonesian children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) during pandemic Covid-19. A 12-week randomized control trial was undertaken at Saiful Anwar Hospital between June and September 2021. JIA patients are divided into two groups. The control group (CG), without supplementation, and the treatment group (TG) got a high dose of oral cholecalciferol 2000 IU/day. Serum levels of 25(OH)D3 were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Comparison between serum 25(OH)D3 levels and JIA subtypes, peripheral blood Creactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and Juvenile Arthritis Disease Activity Score (JADAS-27 Score) were analyzed using SPSS. There was a significant increase in serum 25(OH)D3 levels in treatment group (mean: 27.38 ± 6.39 ng/ml vs 42.26 ± 10.95 ng/ml; P=0.000). The JADAS-27 score significantly decrease in treatment group (14.60 ± 4.04 vs 6.24 ± 1.96; p= 0.000). Serum 25(OH)D3 showed a significant correlation with the JADAS-27 score. The levels of 25(OH)D3 are significantly decreased in children with JIA. Decreased 25(OH)D3 levels may be associated with the etiopathogenesis of JIA. Vitamin D levels have correlations with disease activity. Adjunctive treatment of cholecalciferol improves the disease activity in JIA patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The covid-19 pandemic has transformed the teaching and learning process from offline to online and it has challenged all stakeholders, teachers, students, and parents. One of the key variables that work in dealing with the challenge of online teaching and learning is known as the academic coping strategies (ACS). Some studies have confirmed that academic coping strategies positively contribute to students' learning outcomes and students' ability to deal with their academic pressure. Besides, other factors that influence the students' academic coping skills are the students' self-regulation and students' psychological capital. Therefore, the main aim of this research is to examine the correlation between (1) self-regulation and the academic coping strategies; (2) the self-regulation and psychological capital; (3) the psychological capital and the academic coping strategies; and (4) the self-regulation and the academic coping skills through the psychological capital. This research applied the correlational multifactor which took samples from 518 high school and vocational school students. The instruments employed in this research were a personal data information form, self-regulation scale, psychological capital scale for academic purposes, and academic coping strategies scale. The data were analyzed by using the path analysis in AMOS 23. This research revealed that self-regulation directly affects the students' academic coping strategies and psychological capital during online learning in a covid-19 pandemic. SUICIDE ,COVID-19 pandemic ,TORAJA (Indonesian people) ,HANGING (Death) ,CULTURE - Abstract
Mentuyo (suicide) committed by millennial children in Tana Toraja Regency during the Covid19 pandemic became a shocking social event. These millennial children have committed suicide massively since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. Until this research was conducted in July 2021, 25 Toraja millennials had committed Mentuyo by hanging themselves. Mentuyo is the act of an individual who intentionally and consciously commits suicide by hanging himself or hanging himself (mentuyology). Mentuyo's actions are increasingly worrying because they are almost evenly distributed in all sub-districts in Tana Toraja Regency, giving speculation that mentuyo has a chain transmission effect. This concern is very reasonable because the Mentuyo events spread very quickly in the timeline. Posts in the form of photos of the perpetrators that the alleged suicide motives and the methods used were uploaded on various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and WhatsApp groups. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that cause Mentuyo for millennial Toraja children and social mitigation measures taken by the government, religious leaders, and traditional leaders (aluk todolo) to reduce the number of Mentuyo. This study was designed in a descriptivequalitative manner using a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques used are observation and direct observation (participant observation), in-depth interviews (in-depth interviews), and secondary data analysis (secondary data analysis). The technique used in selecting key informants is a purposive sampling technique, namely selecting informants who are the closest people to the Mentuyo perpetrator, namely parents, friends and ex-lover. Other vital informants are traditional leaders, religious leaders, journalists, and local government representatives The results of the study found that Toraja millennial children did Mentuyo due to several factors. The first factor, they do Mentuyo due to feeling bored with life, unable to withstand the illness they are suffering from, moodiness, feeling jealous, and disappointed because their love relationship is not going smoothly. The second factor, Mentuyo for the Toraja people, is not a disgrace or a sin. The body of the Mentuyo perpetrator is treated the same as death in general. According to the teachings of aluk todolo, the status of death due to Mentuyo, due to illness or accident, is the same. It's just a different way of dying. Mentuyo's actions are strongly influenced by the cultural values and traditional beliefs of the Toraja people about death. For the Toraja people, "death is luck" - has ended all suffering - as well as the beginning of a new life (life afterlife). Death is life itself. The Toraja tribe views death as a process of transferring or transferring the spirit (soul) to another world. Another finding from this study is that a strong synergy between the social and cultural environment is needed to mitigate the suicidal desire of millennial children. The active role of the government, traditional leaders, and religious leaders in socializing and educating about the negative impact of mentuyo are very much needed. Education on how to smartly use social media is also very much needed. It is urgent to appeal or even a prohibition not to make posts, upload pictures or report excessively about suicides. This effort is believed to be able to reduce the suicide rate among millennial Toraja children. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
