The racist taunts that Boris Becker and his new wife Barbara Feltus suffered as a mixed-race couple led them to house hunt in another country but prejudice towards mixed-race couples exists throughout Europe. The extent of discrimination suffered by mixed-race couples depends on the individuals themselves, but also on their ethnic origins and the country they are living in. In France, marriages between a white French person and someone of Caribbean origin are likely to suffer fewer problems than ones between a white French person and an Algerian.
