Lateral Epicondylitis (LT) term was used previously thinking that it as an inflammatory condition, but it is tendinosis of Common extensor tendons of the forearm due to overuse. The incidence of the condition is about 4000 - 7000 per year in the general population in the United States. Conventional treatments practiced on the concept of inflammation have shown forty to eighty percent of unsuccessful results. Individuals with lateral epicondylosis may have symptoms like pain during activity, weakness, swelling and functional disability. The primary objective of the study is to find out the effectiveness of oscillating energy manual therapy (OEMT) compared with muscle energy technique (MET) on functional outcome in subjects with lateral epicondylosis. Total of 30 subjects with unilateral lateral epicondylosis was selected and was divided into two groups of 15 each in a group. Group A (received oscillating energy manual therapy) and Group B (received muscle energy technique). NRS (Numerical Rating Scale), Grip Strength and PRTEE (Patient Rated Tennis Elbow Evaluation) scale were measured pre and post-treatment for both the groups and also at follow up of the sixth week. Muscle energy technique group showed improvement in pain levels, muscle strength and functional activities. The statistical analysis demonstrated that results were more significant in group B at 4th week and also at follow up with a mean difference of (2.3) for NRS, (57.4) for PRTEE and (5.9) for grip strength than group A.

Hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell gene therapy (HSPC-GT) results in the engraftment of genetically modified microglia-like cells (MLCs) in the brain. While HSPC-GT has shown a clear neurological benefit in the clinic for specific rare diseases, the nature of MLC engraftment in the brain and the functional characteristics of MLCs remain contentious. Here we comprehensively characterized how different routes of administration affect the engraftment and biodistribution of genetically engineered HSPC-derivatives in mice. Using high-throughput single-cell profiling, we show that MLCs bear a transcriptional signature similar to resident microglia rather than invading macrophages. However, MLCs could clearly be distinguished from resident microglia by expression of a specific set of genes. Finally, in murine models of Parkinson’s disease and frontotemporal dementia, we demonstrate that MLCs can provide therapeutically relevant levels of protein to the brain, thereby potentially opening avenues of HSPC-GT to address the underlying disease etiology of these and other similar disorders.

Abstract: Tyrosine kinases are known to play a role in tumour growth and proliferation, and they have become common drug targets. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) prohibit associated kinases from phosphorylating tyrosine residues in their substrates, preventing downstream signaling pathways from being activated. Multiple robust and well-tolerated TKIs targeting single or multiple targets, including EGFR, ALK, ROS1, HER2, NTRK, VEGFR, RET, MET, MEK, FGFR, PDGFR, and KIT, have been developed over the last two decades, contributing to our understanding of precision cancer medicine based on a patient's genetic alteration profile. The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family consists of four transmembrane tyrosine kinases (EGFR1/ErbB1, Her2/ErbB2, Her3/ErbB3, and Her4/ErbB4) and thirteen polypeptide ligands produced by them. Multiple solid tumours, including breast, pancreatic, head and neck, kidney, vaginal, renal, colon, and non-small cell lung cancer, overexpress EGFRs. Overexpression of these genes stimulates downstream signaling channels, causing cell proliferation, differentiation, cell cycle progression, angiogenesis, cell motility, and apoptosis inhibition. EGFRs' high expression and/or adaptive activation coincides with the pathogenesis and development of many tumours, making them appealing candidates for both diagnosis and therapy. Several strategies for targeting these receptors and/or the EGFR-mediated effects in cancer cells have been established. The majority of methods include the development of anti-EGFR antibodies and/or small-molecule EGFR inhibitors. This review presents the recent advances in EGFR TKIs and their role in the treatment of cancer.

Objective:The primary objective of the study is todetermine whether the addition of H-ISDN to conventional therapy improves the cardiovascular outcomes and also to assess both short term(1 and 3 months) and long term outcomes(1 year). Materials and Methods:This is a prospective observational study.A total of 82 acute heart failure patients with renal impairment were divided into two groups based on exposure to H-ISDNGroup I-Patients on H-ISDN plus conventional therapyGroup II-Patients on conventional therapy. Followup of all the subjects to study the outcomes of improvement in NYHA class,rehospitalisation and mortality rate at 1 month,3 months and 1 year was done for both the groups. Results:We observed that out of the 82 acute heart failure patients with renal impairment,43 patients were receiving H-ISDN in addition to conventional therapy(Group I) and 39 patients were receiving conventional therapy(Group II) .The length of stay(6.03± 2.906 vs 6.93± 3.845)was shorter in the treated group when compared to the non treated group.A greater difference in reduced hospitalisation was seen at 3 months(2.32% vs 12.82%).The treated group had higher improvement in NYHA class at 1 month(67.44% vs 46.15%), 3 months(51.16% vs 41.02%) and 1 year (44.18% vs 20.51%P=0.023). Conclusion:Acute heart failure patients with renal impairment have poor prognosis. Randomised controlled trials are required to validate if the use of H-ISDN is associated with better outcomes in AHF patients. &nbsp

The plants of Nanded region of Maharashtra are potential source of nutritionally and phytochemically important compounds. The animals and human beings in this region are fully dependent on these plants for food, fodder, fibre and fuel. The plant species growing in this region besides their medicinal importance may contain sufficient amount of nutrients to be considered as livestock feed. The present investigation deals with evaluation of Sodium contents of Leaves of Mango (Mangifera indica) plant. The Leaves of the selected plant species taken for present investigation were collected from six region of Nanded City. The samples were dried powdered and then used for estimation of mineral i.e. Sodium. The Average Sodium content in Mango Plant Leaves is ranges from 185.98 to 251.9 ppm during the study period.

Background and Objectives: Diabetes is a chronic disorder and requires long-term therapy. Lack of adherence to anti-diabetic medication causes suboptimal glycemic control and can lead to treatment failures, development of complications, and increased mortality. The objective of the study was to determine the adherence of medications among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. To evaluate adherence to therapy and study factors associated with nonadherence and adherence in patients with type II diabetics mellitus. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional, observational study was conducted for a period of 6 months in three hospitals .A total of 200 type II diabetic patients, who were on anti- diabetic drug therapy for at least 6 months, were enrolled. Blood glucose was measured and details of drug therapy were noted. Medication adherence was assessed using Morisky Medication Adherence Scale and adherence scores were calculated. Results: Only 15% had high medication adherence, while 24% had moderate and 61% had low medication adherence. Only 30% were having optimally controlled glycemic levels, whereas 70% were having uncontrolled glycemic levels. Medication adherence scores were lower (reflecting lower adherence) in type II patients with uncontrolled glycemic levels than those having optimally controlled glycemic levels, but this difference was not statistically significant. Interpretation and Conclusion: Overall, the medication adherence was low in type II diabetic patients. The study shows that to improve medication adherence, better counseling and health education of patients are required. Although most patients were adherent to therapy, adherent patients are more likely to achieve glycemic control than no nadherent patients. Greater efforts are needed to facilitate diabetes self management behaviours to improve patient outcomes. There is a need for regular monitoring of patient adherence to medication and initiate steps to improve the adherence to anti dabetic medication. Therefore, counselling and health education of the patients related to medication adherence and strateagies to increase drug availability need to be improved.

In this work, 1-((benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)methyl)-4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-N-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-imine (3a-h) have been successfully synthesized from the condensation of 2-((Benzo[d]thiazol-2-1-((benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)methyl)-3-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one (2) with different aromatic amines. On the other hand, in another protocol, cyclization of 2-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl) acetohydrazide (4) with different aromatic aldehydes afforded 2-((5-aryl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)methyl)benzo[d]thiazoles (5a-h). A perusal of the biological activity studies revealed that the derivatives having chlorine as substituent are more toxic to all six bacteria. Among the chloro group compounds, the compound which has methoxy group is more toxic.

Background and aim. Class II malocclusions are most commonly seen in orthodontic practice and in the recent times Twin Block appliance has been the most popular and widely used among removable functional appliances for the correction of Class II malocclusion in growing patients. The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the dentoskeletal effects produced by the Twin Block appliance for the correction of Class II division 1 malocclusion with retrognathic mandible. Methods. Pre-treatment (T1) and post-treatment (T2) lateral cephalograms of 30 patients treated with Twin Block appliance (mean age = 10.8 ± 1.2 years) for the correction of class II division 1 malocclusion were compared with the 30 untreated class II control patients (mean age 11.2 ± 0.8 years) who did not undergo any treatment during this period. Both the groups were evaluated for the dentoskeletal changes using 24 angular and linear cephalometric measurements. We hypothesized that the gut microbiome in patients with diabetes secondary to chronic pancreatitis (Type 3c) is different from those with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. This was a cross-sectional preliminary study that included 8 patients with Type 1, 10 with Type 2, 17 with Type 3c diabetes and 9 healthy controls. Demographic, clinical, biochemical, imaging and treatment data were recorded and sequencing of the V3–V4 region of the bacterial 16SrRNA was done on fecal samples. Bioinformatics and statistical analyses was performed to evaluate the differences in the diversity indices, distance matrices, relative abundances and uniqueness of organisms between the types of diabetes. There was significant difference in the species richness. Beta diversity was significantly different between patients with Type 3c diabetes and the other groups. 31 genera were common to all the three types of diabetes. There was significant differences in the species level taxa between Type 3c diabetes and the other groups. The unique bacterial species signature in Type 3c diabetes compared to Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes included Nesterenkonia sp. AN1, Clostridium magnum, Acinetobacter lwoffii, Clostridium septicum, Porphyromonas somerae, Terrabacter tumescens, and Synechococus sp.

Two polyesters namely poly (glycerol adipate) (PGA) and 4-(1-(4-methoxyphenyl) cyclohexyl) phenyl 6-oxoheptanoate (MPOHP) were synthesised in a facile manner and characterised using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and nuclear magnetic spectroscopy (NMR). The synthesised polyesters were subjected to evaluate the mild steel protecting ability at various concentrations of 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000 ppm in 0.5 M H2SO4 medium. A precise comparison of metal protecting ability rendered by both aliphatic and aromatic moiety was analysed. As an initiation, gravimetric measurements carried out at room temperature resulted with increased inhibition efficiency with increased concentration. Higher temperature studies suggested physisorption mechanism resulting with decreased inhibition efficiency. Experimental results were best fitted with Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. Electrochemical impedance measurements carried out for the selected concentrations of the inhibitors (10, 100, 1000 ppm) revealed increased charge transfer resistance (Rct) with a maximum inhibition efficiency of 54.07% (PGA) and 69.92% (MPOHP) at 1000 ppm indicating the formation of protective barrier. Potentiodynamic polarisation method suggested mixed type of inhibition of both PGA and MPOHP on the metal surface resulting in decreased metal dissolution that could be evidenced from lowered corrosion current density (Icorr).
