This article explores the interplay between perceived employability (PE), mental health, and equity group membership amongst students at a large public urban university in Australia. The article reports from a study conducted between 2017 and 2022, during which students self-assessed their PE. Differences in PE by equity group membership were assessed using responses to structured fields in the questionnaire (n = 24,329). Custom measures were constructed using student responses to open-ended fields to proxy student wellbeing based on sentiment analysis and mention of mental health or synonymous terms (n = 12,819). Analyses included two-way tests of differences between groups and multivariate analyses considering the effect of equity group membership and mental health concerns on employability beliefs. Results indicate that students with a disability, with English as a second language, or with wellbeing concerns report lower perceived employability. Of all the PE dimensions, academic self-efficacy is most consistently affected by equity group membership and wellbeing concerns. Further, wellbeing concerns are more prevalent for students with disabilities. The findings strengthen support for policy and institutional initiatives focusing on student wellbeing in general but also specifically for equity groups that are already associated with poorer employability beliefs. Applied linguistics has recently seen a surge in research and methodological approaches to do stronger studies. One important factor affecting such a new movement is the researchers' individual differences in shaping their research repertoire. Therefore, this study, which employs a path-analytic approach, investigates the interrelationship between three significant individual factors in the EFL (English as a Foreign Language) context: research self-efficacy, anxiety, and motivation. This nationwide survey included 561 male and female Iranian MA students studying TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). The researchers administered three adopted instruments, namely the research motivation scale, the research anxiety scale, and the research self-efficacy scale. The path-analytic findings revealed such interrelationships among the three factors. In particular, the findings indicated that there is a negative relationship between research anxiety and motivation to conduct research. In our study, however, the relationship between research self-efficacy and motivation is positive. These evidence-based findings can help policymakers shape an evidence-based research policy. This mixed‐methods study evaluated a peer‐led support group for ED caregivers; the Eating Disorders Families Australia strive support groups. Quantitatively, 110 past or current strive attendees completed an online survey assessing their own and their care recipients' demographic profiles, strive's impact on caregiving experiences, and caregivers' psychological distress, burden, caregiving skills and self‐efficacy. Qualitative assessment comprised open‐ended survey questions about caregivers' strive experiences, reinforced by in‐depth focus group assessment of nine participants. Quantitative analyses revealed that participants felt more confident and supported, and less isolated in their caregiving since attending strive. Caregivers displayed mid‐range psychological distress and caregiver burden, and moderate caregiver skills and self‐efficacy. Qualitatively, the most helpful aspects of strive were the shared experience among participants, education, and support. The most difficult elements were emotional distress and overly dominant members. Reflections discussed the necessity of caregiver support and factors impacting strive attendance. Participants recommended resuming face‐to‐face contact and differentiating groups based on participant characteristics (e.g. care recipients' age/stage of illness). The current findings provide support for the importance and overall positive contribution of support groups led by caregivers, such as strive. Highlights: The Strive participants presented with increased caregiver confidence and support, reduced isolation, despite mid‐range psychological distress and moderate caregiver skills/efficacy.Caregivers value shared experiences, education, and support within the strive programme.Emotional distress and group dynamics posed hurdles in strive, highlighting the need for improved support structures. Objective: Although a significant number of professionals who provide eating disorder (ED) treatment have lived experience with an ED in the past, there is no consensus on whether these professionals should use these experiences in treatment. This review aims to evaluate current literature on recovered professionals with an ED past treating ED patients, unravelling advantages and disadvantages in treatment, the impact on professionals and their surroundings, and implications for practice. Method: A systematic literature search was conducted which included 10 articles. We analysed qualitative data through a systematic synthesis. Strength of evidence was calculated for each subtheme. Results: Three themes and 14 subthemes were divided into categories. The category 'treatment (patient‐professional interaction)' was divided into: advantages, disadvantages and other implications for treatment. Additionally, the category 'professionals themselves' included subthemes that directly impact or relate to ED professionals: recovery as a non‐linear process, the significant role of self‐care and adverse feelings of professionals. Finally, the category 'work settings' included: company culture and training, supervision and professional development. Discussion: Recovered ED professionals are a promising addition to ED treatment due to the enhanced expertise of the professional. However, attention should be paid to the risk of distorted boundaries between patient and professional. When Greece was hit by the global financial crisis in 2009, families with children paid the heaviest toll. In this article, we draw on individual interviews and focus groups with 17 sixth graders, six teachers and six parents at a primary school in the Magnesia region. We use a relational approach to unpacking everyday austerity as it is lived, felt and experienced by Greek children. The empirical material shows how children's well‐being is conditioned by the well‐being of their families, where emotional stress spills over through witnessing parents' worries. Relational agency enables children to contribute to adversity relief, which seems to enhance not only their well‐being but also their resilience, as it is embedded in relations of mutual empowerment and development. Lastly, the study documents how macro policies of austerity measures trickle into the fabric of children's everyday lives and shape familial and intergenerational practices of care and responsibility. Participatory approaches are important to ensuring that the involvement of children in decision‐making is normalised in service provision. Participation work requires that professionals have well‐developed engagement skills, and a commitment to the right of the child or young person to participate. Effective participatory approaches also require that organisations provide active support for child‐centred practice. The Reconceptualising Services from the Perspectives of Experienced Children and Teens (ReSPECT) approach is an Australian professional development (PD) program that addresses these key aspects of participation work. It offers professionals a way to:(1) increase their awareness of the complex issues, challenges and benefits surrounding participation; and (2) develop a sense of empowerment and competence in the 'doing' of participation work. The PD program encourages professionals to understand their own position in relation to participation work with children, develop bespoke strategies that account for their unique practice context and assemble support structures that can maintain their participation strategies beyond the training. The principles and practices of the ReSPECT PD program are outlined and positioned within the existing literature on theoretical and practice approaches. The paper contributes to critical debate on the mechanisms that can lead to changes in professional practice and organisational culture, for the meaningful engagement of children as stakeholders in decision‐making. The article examines the enactment of rhetorical citizenship in a cultural journalism podcast that seeks (1) to raise awareness of the exploitation and abuses against intra-EU migrant caregivers (predominantly women) and (2) to reinvest with credibility and agency a woman activist with a contested personal history. The analytical framework draws upon semio-pragmatics, multimodal discourse studies and rhetorical criticism in order to show how rhetorical agency is jointly performed by the producer of the podcast (a woman journalist) and the migrant caregiver within the interaction frame of the podcast dispositive. We show that rhetorical agency is enabled through a balanced articulation of news-style documentary, reportage-specific personal narrative and voice-over commentary, cast in immersive podcast features. The producer combines traditional and alternative journalistic styles, genres and digital technologies to engage listeners, while connecting them to the low-skilled women migrants' transnational everyday lives and problems, and to their voices and rhetorical acts. This study proposed and tested the cross-sectional effects of patient-centered communication (PCC) on cancer screening behaviors via an affective-cognitive sequential chain of mediation through cancer worry and health self-efficacy. Cross-sectional data were analyzed from four iterations of the Health Information National Trends Survey (2011, 2014, 2017, and 2020). The results found that lowered cancer worry following PCC does not show a cross-sectional positive effect in promoting cancer screening behaviors, while enhanced health self-efficacy as a subsequent state is a facilitator of screening behaviors. The findings further demonstrated increased PCC, a rise in cancer worry, and a sustained level of health self-efficacy. Also, our research has identified an upward trend in cancer screening behaviors from 2011 to 2017, followed by a notable decrease in 2020. These insights underscore the nuanced ways PCC can foster cancer screening behaviors, emphasizing the importance of emotional and cognitive aspects in clinical settings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose To explore factors influencing career goals and goal attainment for pharmacy learners (eg, students, residents, fellows) who identify as part of the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community. Methods In late 2021 and early 2022, US-based pharmacy learners were invited to participate in two focus groups. In the first focus group, participants were asked to reflect on career goal influences, barriers, and facilitators. In the second focus group, participants were asked to provide suggestions for educational institution and healthcare organization improvement to support career goal attainment for learners in the BIPOC community. Focus group transcripts were coded using both deductive and inductive coding and thematic analysis. Results Fifteen learners were included in the first focus group, and 10 learners were included in the second. The most common career goal motivators were self-efficacy factors. Barriers and facilitators were often closely related. The most common barriers were financial, lack of representation, and lack of support. Common facilitators included mentorship and informal networking opportunities. Participants suggested multiple strategies for educational institutions and healthcare organizations to support BIPOC learner success, including genuine investment, representation, financial support, improved access to professional development opportunities, partnering with other professional organizations, and prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Conclusion Institutions should prioritize effective, positive mentoring relationships and exposure to BIPOC professionals. Training programs and associations should consider improving financial support and lowering the cost of involvement to reduce barriers. Introduction: University psychological counselling services represent a frontline defence to detect, treat or refer students with a wide range of (clinical and non‐clinical) difficulties. Nevertheless, only few studies describe their impact on academic self‐efficacy and report follow‐up data. Evidence on students' actual access to further psychological support in times of hardship is also scant and most needed. This study aimed to fill these gaps, exploring the stability of improvement in clinical conditions in a wide sample of university students and reporting post‐intervention referrals to mental health services. Methods: In a longitudinal study, 218 students who accessed a psychological counselling service at the University of Milano‐Bicocca between 2015 and 2019 completed an assessment at the beginning (T0), conclusion (T1) and 6 months after (T2) a brief cognitive behavioural intervention. The assessment included psychological symptoms, general distress, emotion dysregulation and academic self‐efficacy. Information about students' choices to continue a psychological intervention in other services was also collected and contrasted with the counsellor's indication. Results: At follow‐up, the improvement in academic self‐efficacy remained stable, with more than 60% of the students maintaining a reliable clinical change, and nearly half of them reporting having accessed (or being willing to contact) a mental health service outside the university services. Conclusion: These findings highlight the key role of counselling services in addressing students' distress and academic performances in the long term and in building bridges with mental health services outside the university system for students who need longer and specialised treatment. Objectives: Chemsex is a term used to describe sex acts using psychoactive substances to enhance the sexual experience/arousal and predominates among men who have sex with men (MSM). Chemsex drugs predominantly include γ‐hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) and analogues, methamphetamine, mephedrone and erectile dysfunction agents (e.g., Sildenafil). Mindfulness‐basedcognitive therapy (MBCT) combines cognitive therapy and mindfulness and has been shown to help support both sexual functioning and methamphetamine use. However, limited clinical trials have evaluated the use of cognitive mindfulness for chemsex in MSM. The present study assessed the effectiveness of an online mindfulness‐based cognitive intervention (MBCI) among 29 MSM aged 18–30 years engaged in chemsex. Design and Setting: A mixed methods approach consisted of a randomised waitlist‐controlled trial and a content analysis reviewing participants' feedback on MBCI. The design of the intervention was based on a behavioural taxonomy mapped to selected behaviour change techniques (BCTs) to support the reliability of MBCI in its delivery. Main Outcome Measures: Participants completed assessments measuring levels of chemsex, mindfulness, sexual self‐efficacy and well‐being, taken at Weeks 0, 8 and 12 (follow‐up). Results: Participants reported lower levels of chemsex and higher levels of cognitive mindfulness, sexual self‐efficacy and well‐being postintervention and at the 12‐week follow‐up. The content analysis feedback responses yielded favourable outcomes, suggesting that participants developed a sense of self‐compassion, confidence and positive identity. Conclusions: The MBCI effectively reduced chemsex; however, this study warrants replication with a larger, more diverse group of participants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The benefits of allowing learners to control when to receive knowledge of results (KR) compared to a yoked group has been recently challenged and postulated to be mild at best. A potential explanation for such dissident findings is that individuals differentially utilize the autonomy provided by the self-controlled condition, which, in its turn, affects the outcomes. Therefore, the present study investigated the effects of self-controlled KR on motor learning focusing on the frequency of KR requests when performing an anticipatory timing task. Self-controlled groups were created based on participants' KR frequency of request (High, Medium, and Low referring to fifth, third, and first quintile) and, then, Yoked groups were created self-control condition pairing the KR request of the Self-controlled groups. We also measured self-efficacy and processing time as means to verify potential correlates. The results supported the expected interaction. While no difference between self-controlled and yoked groups were found for low frequencies of KR, a moderate amount of KR request was related to better results for the self-controlled group. Nonetheless, the opposite trend was observed for high frequencies of KR; the yoked group was superior to the self-controlled group. The results of this study allow us to conclude that the choices made, and not just the possibility of choosing, seem to define the benefits of KR self-control in motor learning. This meta-analysis explores the effect of using scoring rubrics on self-efficacy and self-regulation in K-16 formal learning settings and its potential moderators. From the literature, we identified 14 relevant experimental or quasi-experimental primary studies conducted with a total of 2793 students. We retrieved 17 effect sizes for self-efficacy and 18 effect sizes for self-regulation outcomes from the primary studies. Rubric use has a statistically significant moderate to large positive effect on students’ self-efficacy (Hedges’ g = 0.39) and self-regulation (Hedges’ g = 1.00). Large within- and -between study variability of effect sizes is common: self-efficacy (Hedges’ g: −.06; 2.47) and self-regulation (Hedges’ g: −1.17; 3.30). We found no significant moderation of the effect of rubric use by students’ level of education, providing feedback, or instruction using the rubric, whereas there is evidence of an effect of rubrics on self-efficacy and self-regulation, variability of theoretical approaches, measures, and implementation quality raise questions about best practices for rubric development and use. Objective: To examine the effects of an empowerment-based interprofessional lifestyle intervention program among people at risk of type 2 diabetes on knowledge, skills, and confidence in self-management, health, psychological well-being, and lifestyle characteristics, and to explore the participants' perceptions of participating in the intervention. Design and methods: In line with the Medical Research Council complex interventions research methods framework, we conducted a randomized controlled trial with embedded qualitative interviews in primary healthcare clinics in Norway between 2019–2021. Of the patients at risk (The Finnish Diabetes Risk Score Calculator (FINDRISC) ≥15 or Body Mass Index (BMI) ≥30) 142 accepted the invitation, and 14 participants from the intervention group participated in individual interviews after the 12-month follow-up. Our primary outcome was the Patient Activation Measure (PAM-13). Secondary outcomes were EQ-5D-5L, EQ-VAS, WHO-Overall health, WHO-Overall QOL, weight, height, waist circumference, and regularity of physical activity. We used thematic analysis to analyse the qualitative data. Results: There was no clinically relevant differences of neither the primary nor the secondary endpoints between intervention and control group. As to the qualitative data, we identified two distinct features: 'Meaningful perspectives on lifestyle changes' and 'Lifestyle change is not a linear process due to challenges faced along the way' putting ownership of their choices in life into picture. Conclusion: The negative results of the RCT stand in contrast to the findings given by the participants voices, perceiving the intervention as a key eye opener placing their health challenges in perspective. How to interpret these seemingly conflicting findings of participants being seen, heard, and understood, helping them to take more conscious ownership of their choices in life, and at the same time demonstrating no improvements in symptoms or measures, is a dilemma that needs further exploration. Aim: The aim of this concept analysis is to seek clarity as to what end‐of‐life conversations involve by developing a clear working definition and using model cases to conceptualise the defining attributes of an end‐of‐life conversations with the older person. Design: Walker and Avant's eight step approach to Concept Analysis. Data Sources: Four databases were searched, including PubMed, CINAHL, PsycINFO, and Scopus. A total of 339 publications were identified with 30 papers meeting the inclusion criteria and put forward for the final conceptual analysis. Results: The defining attributes associated with end‐of life conversations included (1) an ongoing process of older person empowerment, (2) discussion's concerning values and preferences concerning end‐of‐life issues, and (3) maintaining an open dialogue between all concerned individuals. Antecedents were associated with the older person is their readiness to talk openly about death and dying. Consequences were identified as having a better understanding of what death and dying may mean to the older person in a more specific manner. Conclusions: End‐of‐life conversations are vital in understanding an individual's values and preferences at the end of life, and yet, the concept of the end‐of‐life conversation has not been well defined in the literature. End‐of‐life conversations with the older person encompass ongoing discussions and maintaining open dialogue around end‐of‐life care while developing strategies to promote individual empowerment in making informed choices. Background: Previous research found that healthcare professionals had low preparedness for palliative care. Thus, it is necessary to explore healthcare professionals' self‐efficacy. The Swedish Self‐Efficacy in Palliative Care Scale (SEPC‐SE) evaluates readiness in communication, patient management and multidisciplinary teamwork; however, it should be tested on a larger population. Furthermore, the constructs of the SEPC‐SE should be compared to that of the original SEPC. Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the consensus between the construct validity and reliability of the SEPC and the translated and adapted SEPC‐SE. Furthermore, it aimed to describe and compare the self‐efficacy of nurses and physicians in hospitals and explore the associated factors. Methods: The nurses (n = 288) and physicians (n = 104) completed the SEPC‐SE. Factor analysis with Cronbach's alpha evaluated validity and reliability, and an analysis using the Mann‐Whitney U test compared self‐efficacy and multiple linear regression‐associated factors. Results: The SEPC‐SE revealed three factors with high reliability. Education or experience in specialised palliative care was minor, especially for nurses. Self‐efficacy was highest in patient management (nurses, median [md] = 74.57, physicians md = 81.71, p = 0.010) and communication (nurses md = 69.88, physicians md = 77.00, p = 0.141) and lowest in multidisciplinary teamwork (nurses md = 52.44, physicians md = 62.88, p = 0.001). The strongest associations with self‐efficacy were education at work and advanced homecare experiences. In addition, there were significant associations between years in the profession, male sex, physicians and university education. Conclusion: The SEPC‐SE is valid and reliable for measuring self‐efficacy. Nurses had lower self‐efficacy than physicians. Physicians were associated with higher self‐efficacy and had more education and experience in palliative care settings, which may explain their levels of self‐efficacy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To explore student and tutor perspectives on the learning efficacy of virtual, compared to in-person, problem-based tutorial (PBT) in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and speech-language pathology health professional programs. Materials and Methods: This was a quality improvement study using a cross sectional survey at a single institution. Separate student and tutor surveys were disseminated online. Students received the survey at two timepoints, tutors received the survey at one timepoint. Descriptive statistics summarized quantitative survey questions. Chi-squared or Fischer's Exact analyses explored differences between in-person and virtual PBT. Exploratory analyses determined if associations amongst programs and/or between cohorts existed on variables of interest. Open-ended survey questions were analyzed using content analysis. Results: A total of 241 students and 85 tutors completed the survey. Results demonstrate most students and tutors were satisfied with the use of virtual tutorials (77%; 89% respectively) and felt that they were effective in exploring content within the PBT course. However, students in the most recent cohort rated virtual tutorials more highly (p = 0.01). Conclusions: Virtual modes of PBT were successful in achieving course objectives and led to high satisfaction in users. Health professional programs can use this information when designing virtual problem-based tutorial courses in the post-pandemic era. IMPLICATIONS FOR REHABILITATION: Problem-based learning (PBL) involves the active engagement of students in self-directed learning where learning gaps are identified, and information is retrieved and critically appraised to apply clinical reasoning to healthcare decisions. Traditionally, the PBL process has been implemented in-person through the use of small group tutorial with six to eight students and a tutor, however, the COVID-19 pandemic led to a quick transition to virtual tutorials. This study found that virtual modes of conducting PBL tutorial were successful in achieving course objectives and both students and tutors were satisfied with using virtual means to achieve course objectives in three professional rehabilitation programs (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Language Pathology). Health professional programs in rehabilitation can use this information when designing courses using PBL processes in the future, and clinicians can use this information when considering the use of virtual means for care and for collaboration between professionals in various healthcare settings. Purpose: Person-centred care is widely accepted as being central to high quality care, but little is known about how physiotherapists implement person centred rehabilitation in Intensive Care. This study explores the self-reported experiences and interpretations of physiotherapists delivering person-centred rehabilitation in this setting. Methods: A qualitative study using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis explored the lived experiences of physiotherapists and students who have worked in Intensive Care. Three focus groups, with four participants in each, were conducted. Data were fully transcribed, analysed and managed using NVivo software. Results: Participants shared similar interpretations about the principles of person-centred care. Operationalising person-centred rehabilitation during early recovery was not easily achievable. As the person's clinical condition improved, participants moved away from routine physiotherapy and their practice became more person-centred through the development of a partnership. Participants connected as humans to understand the person and respond to their needs within a culture that valued person-centred care. Conclusions: Physiotherapists aspire to develop a partnership with their patients by connecting on a human level with them and addressing their biopsychosocial needs. Physiotherapists with experience of developing patient partnerships influence the culture of the Intensive Care team and are role-models to facilitate collaborative person-centred activity in others. IMPLICATIONS FOR REHABILITATION: Physiotherapists can move from a biomedical approach towards becoming partners with patients in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as they become cognitively aware. Physiotherapists become person-centred by connecting as humans to the patient and moving towards a biopsychosocial approach that addresses the physical, psychological and instrumental needs of the patient in ICU. When aiming towards a person-centred approach on ICU, physiotherapists contribute to a culture that nurtures the unique patient and works collaboratively with the family and the health care team. The concept of empowerment is one of the fundamental building blocks of social work practice. This concept plays a key role in liberating people who feel pressured, such as individuals with disabilities. The main aim of this study is to explore the relationship between social workers in the disability field and the concept of empowerment. This study seeks to understand how social workers perceive the concepts of disability and empowerment, the roles in which they attempt to empower their clients, and the factors that prevent them from applying the empowerment approach. To this end, phenomenological design, a qualitative research method, was used, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 social workers. Social workers are insightful about the concept of empowerment and their approach to disability. They generally practice at the micro level due to neoliberal policies and the aid-oriented service models. Additionally, there are structural and mentality obstacles that impede the application of the empowerment approach, consequently affecting empowering practices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study examines how supportive touch impacts evaluations of esteem support content containing high emotion-focused (HEF) or high problem-focused (HPF) messages during observed esteem support interactions. A 2 (verbal content; i.e., HEF or HPF) by 2 (nonverbal content; i.e., presence or absence of supportive tactile communication) experiment was conducted to test for main and interactional effects. Results revealed that HEF conditions were perceived to be more effective by observers at enhancing the recipient's state self-esteem, state self-efficacy, and alleviating distress compared to HPF conditions. The supportive tactile communication conditions were perceived as better at enhancing state self-esteem and alleviating distress compared to the no supportive tactile communication conditions by observers. However, these main effects were qualified by significant two-way interactions between message content and nonverbal behavior on ratings of state self-esteem and distress alleviation, such that the addition of supportive tactile communication enhanced the effectiveness of HPF message content but not HEF content. Aim: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of professional and individual characteristics, practice environments and psychological empowerment perceptions of nurses on their care behaviours. Design: The study used a cross‐sectional research design following the STROBE guidelines. Methods: The sample of this descriptive and correlational study consisted of 584 nurses working in a university hospital in Turkey. The data were collected between January and June 2023 using the Nursing Information Form, the Practice Environment Scale of the Nursing Work Index (PES‐NWI), the Psychological Empowerment Scale (PES), and the Caring Behaviours Scale‐30, and analysed using descriptive statistics, Spearman's correlation and multiple linear regression. Results: It was determined that PES‐NWI, PES and Caring Behaviours Scale (CBI‐30) scores of nurses were higher than the average. The study revealed that certain professional and individual characteristics of nurses, practice environments and psychological empowerment perceptions had an effect on their care behaviours. Conclusion: The results of the study showed that nurses' PES‐NWI, PES and CBI‐30 scores were higher than the average, and that certain professional and individual characteristics of nurses, practice environments and psychological empowerment perceptions had an effect on care behaviours. Nursing service managers, in particular, are required to understand the importance of this relationship and create appropriate working conditions which are integrated with psychological empowerment to improve caring behaviours of nurses. Aims: To identify the influence of teamwork, communication skills, and structural empowerment on providing patient‐centered care among nurses in Eswatini. Design: A quantitative, cross‐sectional survey was used. Methods: This survey conducted in Eswatini selected registered nurses working as full‐time nurses with more than 3 months of working experience using convenience sampling. Different measures were adopted and used to collect data among 130 eligible nurses from February to March 2022. Data were analyzed using Statistical Program for Social Sciences version 26.0. Results: A total of 123 nurses responded in the study and the mean age was 31.05 years with a standard deviation of 5.49. The overall response rate was 94.6% in this study. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed that teamwork (β = 0.236, p < 0.05) and communication skills (β = 0.328, p < 0.05) were significant predictors of the provision of patient‐centered care among nurses. Conclusion: Team‐building exercises and management interventions to empower nurses should be established to improve the provision of patient‐centered care among nurses. Nurses should be empowered to provide patient‐centered care in health facilities by encouraging them to provide their input in management procedures and planning programs. Impact: Clinical practice requires nurses to use effective communication skills and work as a team. Nursing care established on teamwork, respect, empathy, and communication skills allows patients to express their concerns and views in health facilities as they feel involved in care. Metacognition entails knowledge of one's own cognitive skills, perceived self-efficacy and locus of control when performing a task, and performance monitoring. Age-related changes in metacognition have been observed in metamemory, whereas their occurrence for hearing remained unknown. We tested 30 older and 30 younger adults with typical hearing, to assess if age reduces metacognition for hearing sentences in noise. Metacognitive monitoring for older and younger adults was overall comparable. In fact, the older group achieved better monitoring for words in the second part of the phrase. Additionally, only older adults showed a correlation between performance and perceived confidence. No age differentiation was found for locus of control, knowledge or self-efficacy. This suggests intact metacognitive skills for hearing in noise in older adults, alongside a somewhat paradoxical overconfidence in younger adults. These findings support exploiting metacognition for older adults dealing with noisy environments, since metacognition is central for implementing self-regulation strategies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Underestimating the important role that disability plays in our growing world, the environment, and our inter-dependent economies is no longer acceptable. Far from being placed in a subaltern position, disability plays a significant role in theory and research development in the most recent waves of initiatives addressing work, resources, and the impact of climate (Berman-Bieler et al., 2023; Olusanya et al., 2023; Stein et al., 2023; Tampubolon, 2023). However, various foundational elements across global disability policies center around disabled peoples' material support needs (Bailie et al, 2023; Fisher et al., 2023) and the impact of disabled peoples' labor market employability across the world's economies (Pinilla-Roncancio & Gallardo, 2023; Revillard, 2023). The articles in this Special Issue of the Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability show us how some of these realities of “what is” can be disrupted, and we are honored to provide our unique perspective piece in response. We focus on the nuanced power dynamics often prevalent, albeit looked over, in the purpose of research by unpacking who decides when equity and justice have been met. This study aims to explore the relationship between self-efficacy, emotional autonomy, and diabetic control index in adolescents with type 1 diabetes. From January to September 2023, this cross-sectional study involved 112 adolescents aged 14–18 with type 1 diabetes who were seeking medical check-ups at the Medical Faculty Hospital in Konya, Turkey. Data collection included demographic information, the Diabetes Management Self-Efficacy Scale for Adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes, the Emotional Autonomy Scale, and diabetic control index values based on their most recent Hemoglobin A1c levels measurement. Data analysis was performed using SPSS statistical software, with statistical significance set at a p -value <0.05. The results showed a good overall self-efficacy score, indicating a balanced level of confidence in diabetes management. The emotional autonomy findings revealed a moderate level of independence, emphasizing a healthy process of differentiation from parents while acknowledging them as individuals. The ability of adolescents to openly discuss their diabetes may be associated with more favorable glycemic outcomes. However, high emotional autonomy was significantly associated with high Hemoglobin A1c levels. This study highlights positive outcomes in adolescent diabetes management, with strong self-efficacy and balanced emotional autonomy. Open communication about diabetes correlates with favorable glycemic outcomes, but caution is necessary as high emotional autonomy is linked to elevated Hemoglobin A1c levels. Importance: Care partners' involvement is a key feature of the Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) approach that can enhance rehabilitation outcomes and promote the generalization and transfer of strategies and skills to everyday life. Gaining insight into care partners' experience with their child's CO-OP intervention is critical to understanding how to enhance care partners' involvement. Objective: To gain insight into the experience of care partners whose child with acquired brain injury (ABI) participated in CO-OP intervention. Method: A qualitative descriptive research design was used. Semistructured interviews were conducted at three time points (immediate postintervention and at 2 and 6 mo postintervention). Setting: Two rehabilitation centers. Participants: Thirteen care partners of 12 children or youth with severe ABI. Results: Three themes emerged from the analysis of 33 interviews: (1) The child is an active agent in their therapy, (2) the care partner is the keystone who helps solidify the elements of CO-OP, and (3) CO-OP mastery requires time and practice, and its use evolves over time. Conclusions and Relevance: These themes highlight the progressive nature of proficiency in CO-OP for both care partners and children. This was evident not only in the children's improvement in task performance, but also in their ability to problem solve. Care partners' role in supporting the CO-OP approach also unfolds over time as their confidence in their child's problem-solving abilities, and in their own ability to adequately provide guidance, increases. Engagement seems to be central in facilitating this progression for both children and their care partners. Plain-Language Summary: This is the first study to provide insights into the involvement of care partners in the Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) approach for children and youth with executive function deficits after acquired brain injury. Understanding care partners' experiences with their child's CO-OP intervention can improve a child's rehabilitation outcomes. The main purpose of this scientific paper is to identify and test some of the factors that affect the proper management of microfinance institutions in Kosovo. The management of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in the modern economy is very important and for this reason, special attention is paid, as the results of MFIs depend on the way they are managed and on the performance they have. The analysis period in this study includes the time from 2014 to 2019, while the source of data was: AMIK, CBK, and KSA. For the realization of this scientific study, we have used a comprehensive methodology, which includes the narrative method, the method of analysis, as well as the econometric method, through the multivariate regression model. In the framework of this paper, importance has been paid to staff empowerment and capacity building, which we have addressed as an important factor in achieving the success of MFIs. The results of the study clearly show that the empowerment of staff's staff has a positive impact on the achievement of results and the success of MFIs because it helps staff make more flexible decisions. The purpose of this paper is to shed light on the gender equality in Kosovo. The data shows that there is a very high gender inequality in Kosovo in all aspects of the life. The main reasons for gender inequality in Kosovo are linked to gender stereotypes and patriarchal culture in society and the economy, unequal distribution of family responsibilities, lack of available and affordable childcare responsibilities and also low education levels among women. Although many measures have been taken to reduce gender inequality and empower women in Kosovo, however women empowerment in Kosovo is by far the lowest among the Western Balkan 6 and EU economies with a score of 25.4 out of 100, placing it last in the Women Empowerment Index (ranking in the last 33 th place). Exercise after stroke has the potential to increase survivors' physical function and decrease disability. However, despite health professional reporting they recommend exercise to stroke survivors, the majority are physically inactive. Stroke survivors have previously expressed a lack of adequate knowledge and skills to engage in exercise. The aim of this study was to understand why active stroke survivors chose to (re)engage in exercise and how they went about doing so. A secondary aim was to understand if health professionals had a role in facilitating exercise engagement. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with stroke survivors who regularly engaged with exercise. Seven people aged between 60 and 71 years participated in the study. Time since stroke varied from 1 to 13 years. A reflexive thematic analysis approach was used to analyze interviews. Exercise was spoken about in a positive light. For some, exercise had always been important, for others it became important after their stroke. The themes of Changing Support Over Time, Old and New Identity and Proactively Impacting the Future were developed. The participants felt that health professionals often facilitated engagement in exercise, although the type of support that was most valued differed at different points in the post-stroke journey. Authoritative support from health professionals and family members helped participants to engage in exercise in the early stages after stroke. Collaboration and being part of a team was appreciated for ongoing exercise engagement. Exercise provided hope as participants developed their identity after stroke. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Self-efficacy, perceived social support, and resilience in caregivers of first-stroke patients are closely related, while the interaction mechanism remains unclear. This research explores the mediation effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between perceived social support and resilience in caregivers of first-stroke patients in China. Convenience sampling was designed and used to recruit participants from the General Hospital of Northern Theater in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China, from February to October 2022, in which 207 self-reported participants completed the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and General Self Efficacy Scale (GSES). In addition, the mediation effect of self-efficacy between perceived social support and resilience was determined by the PROCESS macro for SPSS. Among the 207 caregivers of patients with first-stroke, the mean CD-RISC, MSPPS and GSES scores were (72.17 ± 11.28), (71.17 ± 8.99), and (29.64 ± 5.03) respectively. Caregivers' self-efficacy was positively correlated with perceived social support (r = 0.439, p < 0.01) and resilience (r = 0.730, p < 0.01). Self-efficacy served a mediation function partially between perceived social support and resilience, whose effect accounted for 52.90% of the total. Both simple and mediation roles of perceived social support and self-efficacy are established in the relationship of resilience among caregivers of first-stroke patients. Positive social support and self-efficacy are two important targets for future interventional studies, and interventions on them may synergistically improve resilience. Hence, the nurses and community workers should correctly evaluate social support and self-efficacy, confirm the health education requirements, and implement counseling intervention to protect and improve the health of first-stroke patients and their families. People post-stroke experience increased loneliness, compared to their healthy peers and loneliness may have increased during COVID due to social distancing. How social distancing affected loneliness among people after stroke is unknown. Bandura's self-efficacy theory suggests that self-efficacy may be a critical component affecting individuals' emotions, behaviors, attitudes, and interpretation of everyday situations. Additionally, previous studies indicate that self-efficacy is associated with both loneliness and social participation. This study investigates relationships among self-efficacy, social participation, and loneliness in people with stroke. Determine how social participation affects the relationship between self-efficacy and loneliness in people with stroke during the COVID-19 pandemic. 44 participants were community-dwelling individuals, ≥ 6 months post-stroke who participated in a 2-hour phone interview. A regression-based mediation analysis was conducted using these measures: Participation Strategies Self-Efficacy Scale, Activity Card Sort for social participation, and UCLA Loneliness Scale for loneliness. The total effect of self-efficacy on loneliness was significant (b = -0.36, p =.01). However, social participation fully mediated the relationship between self-efficacy and loneliness (indirect effect, b = -0.11, 95% CI [−0.24, −0.01]; direct effect, b = -0.25, 95% CI [−0.03, 0]). Self-efficacy is associated with both social participation and loneliness in people with stroke in this cross-sectional study. Mediation analysis findings suggest that interventions focused on increasing social participation may prevent or potentially alleviate loneliness in people with stroke who have low self-efficacy. The purpose of this study is to explore the success factors of a rural grassroots sports event, the Village Super League (Rongjiang, southwest China). Data were collected from news reports of the sports event on the Internet. Thematic analysis was conducted to interpret the qualitative data. Eight key success factors were identified in this study. The primary factors include unique publicity, shared entertainment opportunities, empowerment of villagers, and rural volunteerism. The secondary factors include clear objectives, grassroots sports, community pride, and public and sports infrastructure. The implications are twofold: first, rural sports events combined with the exhibition of ethnic or local culture can be applied to other places; second, empowering and engaging residents in the event planning process and ensuring their extensive participation in delivering the event programs are critical for the success of a rural sports event. Ensuring quality education for all students requires teachers to possess knowledge and skills in utilising digital technologies effectively for teaching and learning. This study explored how pre-service teachers (PSTs) perceive their digital attitude, efficacy, literacy, engagement, and understanding of digital technologies in an online learning environment. The study employed a mixed-methods research approach. A survey comprising Likert Scale questions and demographic information was administered to 110 PSTs from a regional university. Descriptive statistics were employed to investigate the relationship between PSTs' understanding of digital technologies and their attitude, literacy, self-efficacy, and learning engagement in online learning. To illustrate the frequently used words in participants' definitions of digital technologies, a 'word cloud' representation was utilised, accompanied by quantitative weightings of key terms. The study revealed significant connections between PST self-efficacy and their attitudes toward digital technologies, digital literacies, and learner engagement. Notably, most of the PSTs exhibited narrower definitions of digital technologies than anticipated. The implications of these findings for course design are discussed, emphasising the need to address PSTs' perceptions of digital technologies, foster their self-efficacy, and enhance their digital literacy and engagement in online learning environments. Understanding these factors can lead to more effective integration of digital technologies in teacher education program courses, ultimately preparing future teachers for digital-age classrooms. Patriarchy is a social system that systematically considers women as inferior to men. Therefore, this study aimed to examine patriarchal ideology and its detrimental effects on characters in Naomi Alderman's The Power. Using a qualitative descriptive and a feminist methodology, the results showed that patriarchal violence manifested in various forms, including physical and sexual assault as well as murder. This narrative suggested that women empowered by the control over electricity retaliated against men, showing the negative effects of patriarchy extended to both genders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Value chain interventions have become widespread throughout the international development sector over the last 20 years, and there is a need to evaluate their effectiveness in improving women's welfare across multiple dimensions. Agricultural value chains are influenced by socio‐cultural norms and gender dynamics that have an impact on the distribution of resources, benefits, and access to opportunities. While women play a critical role in agriculture, they are generally confined to the least‐valued parts of the value chain with the lowest economic returns, depending on the local, social and institutional contexts. Objectives: The review assesses the effectiveness of approaches, strategies and interventions focused on women's engagement in agricultural value chains that lead to women's economic empowerment in low‐ and middle‐income countries. It explores the contextual barriers and facilitators that determine women's participation in value chains and ultimately impact their effectiveness. Selection Criteria: The review includes value chain interventions evaluating the economic empowerment outcomes. The review includes effectiveness studies (experimental and non‐experimental studies with a comparison group) and process evaluations. Data Collection and Analysis: Two review authors independently assessed studies for inclusion, extracted data, critically appraised the studies, and synthesised findings. Results: We found that value chain interventions are successful in improving the economic conditions of their intended beneficiaries. The interventions were found to improve women's economic outcomes such as income, assets holdings, productivity, and savings, but these effects were small in size and limited by low confidence in methodological quality. The meta‐analysis suggests that this occurs more via the acquisition of skills and improved inputs, rather than through improvement in access to profitable markets. The qualitative evidence on interventions points to the persistence of cultural barriers and other constraints. Those interventions implemented in Sub‐Saharan Africa and South Asia are consistently more successful for all outcomes considered, although there are few studies conducted in other areas of the world. Conclusions: The review concludes that value chain interventions empower women, but perhaps to a lesser extent than expected. Economic empowerment does not immediately translate into empowerment within families and communities. Interventions should either moderate their expectations of empowerment goals, or they should be implemented in a way that ensures higher rates of participation among women and the acquisition of greater decision‐making power. Purpose: This study aims to assess the impact of participation in self-help group (SHG) on the psychological empowerment of rural tribal women. Design/methodology/approach: Primary data was collected using multistage random sampling from the rural women of Jharkhand, India. The propensity score matching method was adopted using the psmatch2 command in STATA. Findings: The results show a significant positive change in women's self-esteem, self-confidence, self-efficacy, autonomy, knowledge and skills, reduction in agony and quality of life after participation in SHG. This reveals that participation in SHG has a significant positive impact on the psychological empowerment of rural tribal women. Originality/value: Despite the numerous studies on rural women's empowerment, there is little evidence of literature focusing on the impact of participation in SHG on psychological empowerment, specifically in the tribal context. Preconception care (PCC) encompasses a set of actions taken before pregnancy to support the health and well-being of women before conception to improve maternal and child health (MCH) outcomes. The utilization of PCC services is influenced by multifaceted factors that can either enable or impede women's capacity to access and utilize them effectively. This scoping review examined the barriers and facilitators influencing the utilization of PCC services among women of reproductive age (15-49 years) at both individual and community levels. Through an extensive review of published articles from 2004 to 2021, including peer-reviewed sources, barriers and facilitators were identified. At the individual level, barriers included limited knowledge about PCC, neglect of self-health, and financial constraints. Community-level barriers encompassed insufficient supply of supplements, restricted access to health care, high health care costs, and setbacks due to delayed delivery of MCH services. Conversely, individuals reported that credible sources of information, such as friends, family, and community health volunteers, facilitated their engagement with PCC services. At the community level, facilitators included government-regulated supply chains for supplements and the involvement of community workers in health monitoring. Understanding and addressing these factors can help improve the utilization of PCC services among women of reproductive age (WRA) and improve MCH outcomes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this article, we discuss and reflect on the essential components of our concurrent session presentation at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) annual conference LM2023, "Implementing Lifestyle Medicine Competencies in Didactic and Clinical Settings for Allied Health Professionals." We illustrate the necessity of interdisciplinary lifestyle medicine approaches through a conscious fusion of analysis and storytelling. This review concludes with a call to action empowering the medical community to embrace interdisciplinary lifestyle medicine approaches in effort to increase access to equitable healthcare. Pediatric overweight and obesity is a complex chronic medical condition with a multitude of contributing factors. Rates are now nearly double what they were before the COVID-19 pandemic and if the current trajectory holds it is anticipated that by 2050 one in every two US children will experience obesity before the age of thirty-five. Pediatric obesity guidelines emphasize referral to intensive health behavior and lifestyle therapy programs, but these are difficult to access. Front line providers caring for children can use a lifestyle medicine approach within the medical home to make lifestyle changes easier. Lifestyle Medicine can promote a family-oriented, weight-neutral approach by (1) Educating and equipping providers to assess readiness to change and providing high-quality motivational interviewing and lifestyle counseling, (2) Equipping patients and their families with tools involving the six lifestyle interventions to optimize health starting an early age, and (3) Offering a longitudinal uniform office approach to effectively prevent, manage and often reverse obesity and related comorbidities through healthy habit change. The study sought to understand socio-economic empowerment and resilience through small-scale agribusinesses. Data was collected from 273 beneficiaries of small-scale agro-businesses funded by World Vision International (WVI). Data was collected using a 7-point Likert-based data collection tool. The data was analyzed using SmartPLS 4 and Stata. The analysis suggested that community resilience mediates the relationship between socio-economic empowerment and resilience (β = 0.095, p < 0.050) and that enhancing community resilience results in improved overall resilience (β = 0.796, p < 0.001). It was also determined that socio-economic initiatives based on SSAB significantly increased overall resilience (β = 0.158, p < 0.001). It can be argued that agro-based initiatives can be instrumental in empowering individuals, and this, in turn, results in improved resilience. Further research could be conducted to assess the sustained impact of agricultural interventions and economic empowerment initiatives in Lesotho. One way to do this is through a longitudinal study that evaluates the effectiveness of programs like World Vision International's Livelihoods and Resilience Programme (LRP) on participants' socio-economic outcomes over time. Spatial thinking refers to basic skills in geography teaching, which enables students to understand spatial relationships, analyze geographical information, and develop a holistic understanding of the world. Teacher dispositions play a critical role in helping students acquire these skills. Despite their importance, our knowledge about teachers' dispositions to teach spatial thinking is quite limited. This research aimed to examine the effect of preservice geography teachers’ spatial self-efficacy and spatial anxiety on their dispositions to teach spatial thinking. It was conducted using a descriptive survey research design. The sample consisted of 585 students studying geography at state universities in Türkiye. The data were collected using the Spatial Ability Self-Report Scale, the Teaching Spatial Thinking through Geography Disposition Inventory, and the Spatial Anxiety Scale. The data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation and structural equation modeling. The analysis results yielded a significant positive correlation between spatial self-efficacy and dispositions to teach spatial thinking. As preservice teachers’ spatial self-efficacy increased, their dispositions to teach spatial thinking also increased. There was also a negative correlation between spatial anxiety and dispositions to teach spatial thinking. When preservice teachers’ spatial anxiety increased, their dispositions to teach spatial topics decreased. These results showed that spatial self-efficacy and spatial anxiety play an important role in preservice geography teachers' dispositions to teach spatial thinking. Accordingly, training programs and experimental work aimed at increasing spatial self-efficacy and reducing spatial anxiety would help improve preservice teachers’ dispositions to teach spatial thinking. Climate change threatens environmental stability and human health, with limited research on younger children's perceptions. This study examines Italian primary school children's views on climate change to guide educational and policy strategies. Surveying 973 children (5–11 years) from different regions, findings showed high awareness (93%) and concern (63%) about climate change. Regional differences indicated greater concern in the south. Gender disparities revealed females were more concerned and experienced more sleep difficulties. Younger children had stronger emotional responses, while older ones showed increased pro-environmental behaviors. Despite moderate self-confidence in effecting change, a strong sense of responsibility and trust in adults was prevalent. These results highlight the need for early, continuous climate education tailored to regional, age, and gender-specific needs. Addressing children's views on climate change can help educators and policymakers foster resilience and proactive attitudes, supporting the development of informed and engaged future stewards of the planet. Although women victims of gender-based violence suffer health and self-care issues, there is still a lack of coordinated integrated support programmes aimed at mitigating the socio-health impact of gender-based violence on women that are suitably adapted to new social contexts. Given the importance of analysing the effectiveness of integrated psycho-socio-educational interventions and self-care programmes, this study reviews the interventions and programmes implemented in Spain, focusing specifically on their implementation and impact in the autonomous region of Navarra. The data reviewed were extracted from official publications and websites pertaining to the 17 Spanish autonomous regions and the corresponding Spanish government ministries. Additionally, 18 reports on psycho-socio-educational interventions (n = 63) for the whole of Spain centring on integrated support for self-care were analysed. In the case of the autonomous region of Navarra, four psycho-socio-educational intervention programmes (n = 4) involving self-care were analysed. The analysis found that there are a number of diverse integrated psycho-socio-educational programmes focusing on self-care that provide support and interventions. The results indicate that the women who benefit from the services, especially those relating to self-care (self-esteem, healthcare, personal image, and health), report improvements in their general wellbeing. While numerous studies have revealed the impact of different bullying behaviors, such as victimization and perpetration, on the psychological development of adolescents, the exploration of the correlates of positive/negative bystander behaviors and their potential underlying mechanisms remains scarce in China. The present study aims to compare the relationships between mental health and positive versus negative bystander behavior and to clarify whether self-efficacy and coping styles mediate the relationships between mental health and bullying dynamics. The current study was conducted on 11,734 students from 18 secondary schools in Suzhou, China (Meanage = 15.00, SDage = 1.47; 53.8% boys). The information on bullying victimization, perpetration, positive/negative bystander behaviors, as well as self-efficacy, coping styles and mental health variables (including depression, anxiety, sleep disturbance, suicide risk), were collected. Negative bystander behavior was positively associated with mental health problems, while positive bystander behavior was negatively associated with these factors. Also, further analysis showed that coping styles and self-efficacy mediated the relationship between different bullying behaviors and mental health outcomes. The results highlighted the comparison of the correlates of positive and negative bystander behaviors, which were comparably crucial to those of victims and perpetrators for prevention and intervention efforts. Background: Positive person-centered attributes of inpatient rehabilitation need to be identified from the patient's perspective to be further developed and sustained. Purpose: To identify which attributes patients openly evoke as being great care experiences, using an open appreciative inquiry during the inpatient rehabilitation stay. Methods: Qualitative secondary analysis of appreciative patient comments during a bedside patient experience rounding facilitated by a neutral party was performed. Two independent analysts employed an inductive, summative form of content analysis. Results: Among 150 patients rounded, 122 provided categorizable appreciative accounts. Over two-thirds of the patients (67.2%) focused on "staff attributes" in their great-experience accounts. Those attributes were mostly interpersonal such as being "attentive & caring—beyond clinical duty" and being "encouraging (but not too hard) & reassuring". These interpersonal staff attributes were reported with words showing deep levels of personal significance or patient appreciation. Beyond staff attributes, the perceived quality of "patient care" (31.1%) and opportunities for "leisure and social activities" (9.0%) were also frequently evoked. Amenities like food or customer service were the least evoked, rarely so as an exclusive attribute (0.8% for each). Conclusions: The human(e) factor, especially the interpersonal qualities of staff, emerged as greatly appreciated from the patient experience perspective during inpatient rehabilitation. Chronic back pain in adults is often a cause of absenteeism from work, limitations in social interactions, and difficulties in performing daily activities. This study aimed to check whether the functioning of everyday activities in elderly patients after neurosurgery improved over time compared to their condition before the procedure and whether there is a connection between fitness, self-esteem, and pain intensity. This was a cross-sectional study carried out using an anonymous survey. This study included patients over 60 years of age from the neurosurgical ward. The following scales were used to assess cognitive functioning, depression, functional status: basic and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), back pain disability (QBPDS), pain intensity, and self-esteem. The level of independence in terms of IADL and QBPDS increased, and the intensity of pain decreased. Surgery reduced pain intensity from 8 ± 0.8 to 6.1 ± 1.4 points. The level of self-esteem (RSES) remained at a low level. The passage of time after neurosurgical treatment has a beneficial effect on reducing pain intensity and increasing independence in life activities. Guilt is a widely used emotional appeal in environmental sustainability and other advocacy messages. However, unintended negative effects such as psychological reactance, where individuals resist or reject the message, have been identified, and scholars have recently suggested strategies to mitigate those effects. Using an experimental design, the study examined the role of self-efficacy cues (lower vs. higher magnitude behavioral recommendations) in the message recommendation component of guilt appeals that are designed to elicit more guilt than shame. Adult-aged participants (N = 341) were exposed to messages that described the negative effects of climate change on wild animals. Results from a serial mediation test indicated that viewing guilt messages with lower (vs. higher) magnitude behavioral recommendation was associated with greater self-efficacy beliefs and less perceived threat to freedom, which predicted more anticipated guilt and, finally, greater intention to take pro-environmental actions. These findings contribute to the theoretical development and practical applications regarding how self-efficacy-enhancing content in guilt appeals can reduce defensive responses and foster a stronger commitment to sustainable practices. A significant trend in education is the increasing recognition of the need to shift from transmissive teaching to incorporating reflexive practices associated with real-life issues in learning, curriculum, and teaching. Merging Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Metaverse learning technologies in Education for Sustainability (ICT/MeEfS) is critical in responding to current sustainability crises such as climate change. This research article focuses on the factorial structure, reliability, and validity of a teachers' ICT/MeEfS resilience scale. It examines the predictive value of teacher self-efficacy and transformative teaching beliefs in merging ICTs and education for sustainability. The respondents were 1815 in-service teachers in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The principal component analysis showed a two-factor model (factor 1: "personal ICT/MeEfS resilience" and factor 2: "reflexive practice"), with a significant amount of extracted variance (68.26%). The overall Cronbach's alpha reliability analysis of the teachers' resilience scale enabled by ICT/MeEfS was 0.90, indicating a high score and excellent internal consistency. Similarly, the stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that the two hypothesized predictors, teacher self-efficacy and transformative teaching beliefs, significantly contributed to teachers' ICT/MeEfS resilience, explaining 73% of its variability. The implications of the research results are discussed in terms of research and in developing the capacity of teachers to embed sustainability issues and SDGs in teaching practices, learning environments, and course curricula enabled by ICTs and Metaverse learning technologies. Background: Adolescents are considered good cadres who can socialize healthy dental behavior. Therefore, designing a dental health education program is necessary to prepare adolescents to socialize dental health behavior. Purpose: This study evaluates the pilot program for trainers using persuasive communication to socialize dental health behavior. Methods: Thirty-five participants (13-16 years old) were trained by a persuasive communication coach and practiced the skills with a simulated client. This one-day training had a two-phase structure: lectures and practicum. The evaluation was completed utilizing three of the four-level methods from Kirkpatrick (1959). The data analysis used for the reaction evaluation was descriptive statistics, calculating the average score per category of training support assessment items (curriculum, facilitator, accommodation, and overall score). The learning outcome analysis resulted from an analysis of the pre- and post-test results using the N-Gain value and paired t-test. Behavior outcomes were also analyzed descriptively by calculating the average score of all participants in every timeline (baseline and two weeks after the training). Results: Evaluation of this training revealed that reaction has an average total score of 4.02, which shows that the participants were satisfied with the training, learning has an N-Gain acquisition of 48.28%, and behavior level shows a positive outcome as an increase in points from 3.4 to 4.2.
