The Professional Quality of Life Scale-ProQOL-5). Ispitivao se odnos pojavnosti posredne traumatizacije kao glavnog konstrukta te slijedećih obilježja sudionika: duljine radnog staža, bračnog i roditeljskog statusa, dobi i trenutnog iskustva sudjelovanja u nekom obliku profesionalne podrške. Istraživanjem se nisu utvrdile statistički značajne razlike ni povezanosti nijednog od navedenih obilježja i pojavnosti posredne traumatizacije., Secondary traumatization is one of the consequences of working with people in distress which is most often neglected when compared to professional stress and burnout. This is also supported by the fact that there are no researches about secondary traumatization carried in Croatia. Therefore, the aim of this research was to examine the occurrence of secondary traumatization and to verify the contribution of some sociodemographic features and job-related features in explaining the construct of secondary traumatization of social workers employed in Social Welfare Centers. The research was conducted in Social Welfare Centers in the Republic of Croatia. There were 117 social workers of both sexes, different age with different length of service and working in different counties across Croatia. The survey used a measuring instrument in the form of a questionnaire which was consisted of three parts: sociodemographic features, job-related features and the Quality of Life Scale-ProQOL-5 scale. The relationship between secondary traumatization as a main construct and the following characteristics of the respondents was studied: length of service, marital and parental status, age and current experience of participation in some form of professional support. The research did not establish statistically significant differences or correlations between any of the above mentioned features and the occurrence of secondary traumatization.
