Purpose: There is limited integration of behaviour theories and persuasive technology on behavioural change. Previous research calls for employing behaviour change theories to inform their persuasive designs and to illustrate how the theories employed are linked to the design features. In this paper, we propose the integration of two theoretical models – the persuasive system design and the transtheoretical model – to identify which persuasive interventions work best for the user to progress through different stages of behavioural change. Study design/methodology/approach: We performed an in-depth literature review of the transtheoretical model and persuasive system design, followed by an initial framework conceptualization. The initial framework was validated and finalized through in-depth interviews of individuals who have practised the behaviour change for at least half a year. Findings: In this paper, we have successfully identified the persuasive system design features and mapped them onto the transtheoretical model stages of change, where the stages can be reduced into early and late stages. Consequently, we have developed a framework for designing behavioural change with the use of persuasive technology and validated it through empirical research. Originality/value: The findings have practical implications for understanding which principles UI and UX and designers should follow when designing products for behavioural change. Water has a significant influence on fundamental biophysical processes in the soil. It is one of the limiting factors for plant growth, which is why monitoring the water content in the field is particularly important in agriculture. In this article we present the methods currently used to measure the soil water content. We have described their functional principles, advantages, disadvantages and possible applications. Due to their widespread use in agriculture, we have focused on dielectric sensors, which are classified as electromagnetic methods. We have investigated the influence of soil properties on measurements with dielectric sensors and described possible methods for soil-specific calibration. In agriculture and environmental sciences, measurements of soil water content are particularly important for irrigation management. Irrigation based on measurements enables us to optimize the use of water resources and reduce the negative impact on the environment. For the correct functioning of such sensors it is necessary to check the suitability of the factory calibration function. Special attention is required when installing the sensors, as the presence of air gaps causes errors in the measurements.

In this study, the surface and textural properties as well as the catalytic performance of Ni/CeO2 and NiIn/CeO2 catalysts prepared by wet impregnation (WI) and deposition–precipitation (DP) are investigated. The addition of Ni (3.0 wt.%) resulted in a decrease in the specific surface area and pore volume in the case of the WI method, possibly due to a blockage of mesopores. A minimal addition of In (0.25 wt.%) caused a further decrease in the surface area in both cases. XRD analysis showed that Ni deposited on CeO2 by DP resulted in some lattice incorporation, affecting the crystallinity of the support. The H2-TPR profiles altered depending on the different ways of Ni and In introduction. STEM-EDS-derived elemental maps indicated that the Ni and NiIn particles deposited on CeO2 using the DP method were somewhat smaller than in the WI synthesis. A comprehensive CO-DRIFTS analysis proved a direct Ni-In interaction in bimetallic samples, leading to the formation of a surface NiIn alloy. Ni/CeO2 catalysts showed a higher activity in the process of dry reforming of methane (DRM) than the bimetallic counterparts at 650 °C, with the Ni_DP sample performing slightly better. However, the Ni_DP catalyst showed significant coking, which was drastically reduced by the addition of In. The agglomeration of Ni and/or NiIn particles during the 6 h DRM reaction somewhat impaired the catalyst performance. Overall, this study highlights the intricate relationship between the catalyst preparation, surface properties and catalytic performance in the DRM reaction and emphasizes the beneficial role of In addition in reducing the coking of the monometallic catalyst and the critical location and surface morphology of nickel nanoparticles decorated with indium and in contact with ceria. Aquatic insects were collected from Arizona during 2022, and museum specimens and observations posted to online platforms were reviewed to support new records. Notes and records are provided for 8 species of aquatic Coleoptera and Hemiptera. Three species are reported for the first time from the United States in Arizona: Hydaticus rimosus (Dytiscidae), Neobidessus youngi (Dytiscidae), and Rhagovelia ignota (Veliidae). Two additional species are new state records for Arizona: Copelatus debilis (Dytiscidae) and Meridiorhantus calidus (Dytiscidae). Distributional notes are provided for Abedus breviceps (Belostomatidae) and Rhagovelia choreutes (Veliidae). A form of Copelatus distinctus (Dytiscidae) with greatly reduced striae is illustrated. The forest floor is covered with tree canopy, and the forest canopy gap is a larger or smaller area of the floor that is not covered by the canopy of the dominant tree layer. The size of the gap affects tree species rejuvenation, as well as the vertical and horizontal structure of the forest. In the Pohorje area (Pahernik’s forest estate), which is characterized by forests where trees of different diameters and ages occur in small areas, we analyzed the possibilities of automatic gap detection based on data from the Laser Scanning of Slovenia (LSS) and the Cyclic Aerial Survey of Slovenia (CAS). We used Canopy Height Models (CHM) derived from both data sources. The overall detection accuracy even for the smallest gaps (smaller than 50 m²) was 94.4% based on the LSS data and 83.1% based on the CAS data. A larger number and area of gaps can be detected based on the LSS data, and the gaps derived from the LSS data are more disaggregated and elongated. The detection of gaps with CAS data and LSS data is more comparable with a minimum gap area of 100 m²; the accuracy of detecting such gaps is 85.4 and 94.4% respectively. The results of the study show that in the absence of LSS data, the use of CAS data to detect forest canopy gaps on a large scale is useful when gaps with an area of more than 100 m² are detected. Abstract Background Timing and adequacy of peritoneal source control are the most important pillars in the management of patients with acute peritonitis. Therefore, early prognostic evaluation of acute peritonitis is paramount to assess the severity and establish a prompt and appropriate treatment. The objectives of this study were to identify clinical and laboratory predictors for in-hospital mortality in patients with acute peritonitis and to develop a warning score system, based on easily recognizable and assessable variables, globally accepted. Methods This worldwide multicentre observational study included 153 surgical departments across 56 countries over a 4-month study period between February 1, 2018, and May 31, 2018. Results A total of 3137 patients were included, with 1815 (57.9%) men and 1322 (42.1%) women, with a median age of 47 years (interquartile range [IQR] 28–66). The overall in-hospital mortality rate was 8.9%, with a median length of stay of 6 days (IQR 4–10). Using multivariable logistic regression, independent variables associated with in-hospital mortality were identified: age > 80 years, malignancy, severe cardiovascular disease, severe chronic kidney disease, respiratory rate ≥ 22 breaths/min, systolic blood pressure < 100 mmHg, AVPU responsiveness scale (voice and unresponsive), blood oxygen saturation level (SpO2) < 90% in air, platelet count < 50,000 cells/mm3, and lactate > 4 mmol/l. These variables were used to create the PIPAS Severity Score, a bedside early warning score for patients with acute peritonitis. The overall mortality was 2.9% for patients who had scores of 0–1, 22.7% for those who had scores of 2–3, 46.8% for those who had scores of 4–5, and 86.7% for those who have scores of 7–8. Conclusions The simple PIPAS Severity Score can be used on a global level and can help clinicians to identify patients at high risk for treatment failure and mortality.

Descriptive data mining techniques offer a way of extracting useful information out of large datasets and presenting it in an interpretable fashion to be used as a basis for future decisions. Since users interpret information most easily through visual means, techniques which produce concise, visually attractive results are usually preferred. We define a method, which converts transactional data into tree-like data structures, which depict important relationships between items contained in this data. The new approach we propose is offering a way to mitigate the loss of information present in previously developed algorithms, which use mined frequent itemsets and construct tree structures. We transfer the problem to the domain of graph theory and through minimal spanning tree construction achieve more informative visualizations. We highlight the new approach with comparison to previous ones by applying it on a real-life datasets – one connected to market basket data and the other from the educational domain.

U članku se predstavlja leksikografski rad Krešimira Kovačevića na primjeru Leksikona jugoslavenske muzike (Zagreb 1984), kojem je bio glavni urednik. Ne ulazeći u sadržajnu analizu Leksikona, cilj je bio pogledom u proces njegova nastajanja ustanoviti Kovačevićev urednički rukopis u segmentu rada na abecedariju te podastrijeti kvantitativan uvid u njegov autorski prinos. Razno arhivsko gradivo vezano uz Leksikon jugoslavenske muzike sačuvano u pismohrani Leksikografskog zavoda Miroslav Krleža omogućilo je taj uvid. Osobito se abecedarij Abecedar natuknica pokazao kao zanimljiv i slojevit izvor za proučavanje faza nastanka Leksikona te je poslužio kao primarno sredstvo za analizu. Osim toga, budući da članci u Leksikonu nisu potpisani, temeljem Abecedara natuknica, ali i metodom uspoređivanja članaka iz Leksikona jugoslavenske muzike s onima iz 2. izdanja Muzičke enciklopedije, u prilogu ovoga rada prvi se put donosi popis svih članaka koje je Kovačević napisao u Leksikonu. Time je otkriven neočekivano velik opseg, kao i tematska raznovrsnost njegova autorskog prinosa, doduše velikom dijelom prenesenoga ili utemeljenoga na njegovim vlastitim člancima iz Muzičke enciklopedije.

Global networking, growing computer infrastructure complexity and the ongoing migration of many private and business aspects to the electronic domain commonly mandate using cutting-edge technologies based on data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to ensure high levels of network and information system security. Transparency is a major barrier to the deployment of black box intelligent systems in high-risk domains, such as the cybersecurity domain, with the problem getting worse as machine learning models increase in complexity. In this research, explainable machine learning is used to extract information from the CIC-IDS2017 dataset and to critically contrast the knowledge attained by analyzing if–then decision tree rules with the knowledge attained by the SHAP approach. The paper compares the challenges of the knowledge extraction using the SHAP method and the if–then decision tree rules, providing guidelines regarding different approaches suited to specific situations.

Slovenska priporočila za obravnavo bolnikov z kronično odpovedjo prebavil so povzeta so po smernicah Evropskega združenja za klinično prehrano in metabolizem (angl. ESPEN; European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism) in prilagojena slovenskim izkušnjah zdravljenja odpovedi prebavil. Pretežni del bolnikov z odpovedjo prebavil predstavljajo bolniki s sindromom kratkega črevesa (SKČ), zato je poudarek priporočil na diagnostiki, obravnavi in zdravljenju bolnikov s SKČ. Namen priporočil je vzpostavitev bolj učinkovite prepoznave in obravnave bolnikov z odpovedjo ter vzpostavitvi temeljnih strokovnih izhodišč za zdravljenje teh bolnikov v Sloveniji. Dejavnost zdravljenja kronične odpovedi prebavil z parenteralno prehrano na domu pri odrasli pacientih je bila v Sloveniji formalno vzpostavljena leta 2008, v 13 letih smo zdravili več kot 230 pacientov, v začetku leta 2021 je v 2 centrih (OI Ljubljana, UKC Ljubljana) v zdravljenje vključeno 95 odraslih bolnikov. Pred 6 leti Smo paciente v programu zdravljenja odpovedi prebavil v okviru OI LjubljanA vključili v evropski register premljanja bolnikov na Parenteralni prehrani na domu (PPD), v okviru ESPEN.
