In Scandia Cavi on Mars, barchans migrating over a field of transverse aeolian ridges (TARs) leave behind distinctive trails (“wakes”) comprising both TARs undergoing exhumation and coarse-grained ripples being shed from the barchans. With distance upwind from the barchans, the combined pattern of these bedforms coarsens and defect density decreases, thus appearing to mature with exposure time. We present results of morphological analyses of the wake bedform crestlines using HiRISE images, seeking to determine how the wake pattern reflects TAR growth and pattern development. TARs interact with each other, exhibiting defect repulsions and possible lobe extensions, indicating that these bedforms have migrated in the past, despite the lack of identifiable change in overlapping images spanning 9.5 years. Mapping one wake in detail, we found that the TAR pattern is not affected by superposing ripples. However, the ripples undergo many interactions, first with one another, and later (with distance upwind) with the underlying TARs. Near the dune, many ripples laterally link, growing in length, and they preferentially form along TAR crests, resulting in small bedform repulsions and longer superposing ripples. Most of these ripples will be consumed by the TARs, an as-yet unreported growth dynamic for TARs that is consistent with the work of others, who have found a continuum between TARs and the meter-scale ripples that form on dunes. Constructing a DTM, orthorectifying HiRISE images, and measuring dune migration rates places the timescale of ripple absorption by TARs in a wake at several thousand years, with the first ∼1,000 years dominated by lateral linking of ripples. Assuming that TAR growth is accomplished entirely through dune burial and subsequent ripple consumption, we estimate a lower limit age of the TARs, and by extension, the dune field, to be ∼270 kyr.

Big health industry is an industry that provides whole process and all factor products and services for human comprehensive physical and mental health. With the increasingly close relationship between health and environment, green products take into account the characteristics of environmental protection, resource intensification, safety, and health, so that the green product industry for the purpose of health and environmental protection has become an important branch of the big health industry. To give a clear portrayal of changes in the global green product trade system, this study derives relevant trade data from the World Bank and the UN Comtrade and by analyzing the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of the global green product trade pattern from 2001 to 2018, and it explores the product structure and status changes of countries (regions) in the global trading system for green products. According to the research findings, the closely connected global trade network for green products continues to expand. This is a typical network comprising “smaller worlds”; the focus of green product exports has largely stayed unchanged, while imports are shifting from North America and East Asia towards North America, Europe, and the Middle East; the spatial structure of the network shows a transition away from the original transcontinental “dual arch” pattern with the United States at the core towards a “transcontinental + intracontinental” one characterized by the coexistence of “multiple arches” centering around Europe and Asia; the trade network adopts a “point-to-point” model, with no obvious interdependence and competition between countries (regions); furthermore, geographically proximate and culturally similar countries are prone to have closer trade ties. By clarifying the global trade network of green products industry under the background of big health industry, it will help to deepen the understanding of the relationship between participating countries, promote the long-term and stable development of national health industry trade, provide the public with more safe and harmless products, better meet the global public’s health needs, and effectively enhance the sustainability of public health.

Zoigê Plateau, China’s largest plateau marsh wetland, has experienced large-scale degradation of the marsh wetland and evolution of the wetland landscape pattern over the past 40 years due to climate warming and human activities. How exactly do the wetland landscape pattern characteristics change? How do climatic change and human activities affect the wetland evolution? These questions are yet to be systematically investigated. In order to investigate changes to the marsh wetland on the Zoigê Plateau, field investigations, spatial and statistical analysis were undertaken. Findings from our study indicate that from 1977–2016, the area of marsh wetland on the Plateau reduced by 56.54%, approximately 66,700 hm2 of marsh wetland has been lost. The centroids of both marsh and marshy meadow migrated and the landscape centroid migration behaviors were also correlated with the distribution and variation of the marsh wetland on different slopes. In addition, the number of marsh landscape patches initially increased before decreasing; the number of marshy meadow landscape patches also recorded an initial increase, followed by a decline before a final increase. As the effects of human activities weakened, the aggregation degrees of both marsh and marshy meadow increased. Overall, the fragmentation degree, diversity and fractal dimension of the marsh wetland all declined. An investigation into the driving factors affecting the Plateau area shows that the increase of annual average temperature was the natural factor while trenching and overgrazing were the main human factors resulting in wetland degradation. Results from this study provide basic data and theoretical foundation for the protection and restoration of marsh wetland in alpine regions.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE In recent decades there has been an increase in the use of antidepressants (AD) and a decrease in the use of benzodiazepines (BDZ). Prevalence, cumulative incidence, and factors associated with the incidence of AD and BDZ use in a Brazilian population were estimated in this article. METHODS Data were collected with a self-administered questionnaire in a cohort of employees from a university in Rio de Janeiro. The prevalence of the use of AD and BDZ was calculated for 1999 (4,030), 2001 (3,574), 2006-07 (3,058), and 2012 (2,933). The cumulative incidences of the use of AD and BDZ between 1999 and 2007 were estimated by the Poisson models with robust variance estimates. RESULTS In 1999, the prevalence of the use of AD and BDZ were 1.4% (95%CI: 1.1–1.8) and 4.7% (95%CI: 4.1–5.4), respectively; in 2012, they were 5.4% (95%CI: 5.5–6.2) and 6.8% (95%CI: 6.0–7.8). The incidence of use, between 1999 and 2007, was 4.9% (95%CI: 4.2–5.7) for AD and 8.3% (95%CI: 7.3–9.3) for BDZ. The incidences of AD and BDZ use were higher among women and participants with a positive General Health Questionnaire. CONCLUSION In this population, the increase in the use of AD was not accompanied by a decrease in the use of BDZ, showing the prescriptions for psychotropic medication do not follow the currently recommended guidelines for treatment of common mental health disorders.

Periodic vegetation patterns (PVPs) are striking features of many global drylands. Although they have attracted wide research study, resulting in many hypotheses, their origin and controlling factors remain unresolved. Theoretical works dominate a large literature seeking to account for the occurrence and properties of PVPs, especially banded vegetation patterns (‘tiger bush’). In light of the plethora of theoretical studies, there is a need for more empirical observation and monitoring of PVPs, especially their responses to climatic variability and to foreshadowed climatic change. This paper highlights key results derived from more than 20 years of field study and monitoring of banded vegetation in arid New South Wales, Australia, where severe drought is a recurring feature. It advances the view that in this study area, and hence perhaps in other regions, local factors including plant physiology, soil properties, and climatic characteristics result in PVPs whose development and functioning might be quite unlike those of other regions. Importantly, these local characteristics appear to confer on the regional PVPs a considerable resilience to drought, and hence perhps to climate change. The field evidence from the study area suggests that, despite predictions of a number of theoretical analyses, the PVPs are not facing imminent collapse. Generalised and non-specific models of PVPs require more realistic parameterisation and more thorough validation than has been customary, and this will require additional field evidence of the kind reviewed here. Yunnan Province, as a typical plateau and mountainous region, has diverse geological environment, fragile ecological environment, obvious constraints on natural resources, and prominent spatial structure problems caused by the rapid development of urbanization in mountainous areas. Combined with the geographical environment and urban development characteristics of the plateau mountain in central Yunnan, a comprehensive spatial evaluation model of plateau mountain cities is constructed from three aspects: spatial structure, spatial connection and land use expansion. The spatial pattern evolution characteristics and driving mechanism of central Yunnan urban agglomeration in 1994, 2002, 2010 and 2018 were studied. The results show that from 1994 to 2018, urban agglomeration gradually presents a "single core structure" relationship with high primacy and high compactness, while urban land use expansion shows a land use change process of "rapid regular expansion-rapid irregular expansion-slow regular expansion". The morphological characteristics of land use also correspond to three stages of "single-point extension-multi-point extension-single-point filling". The hierarchical structure of urban agglomeration has changed from "single center" to "one principal and many deputy". The evolution of the spatial pattern of urban agglomeration is mainly affected by topography, traffic road network, economic industrial structure and government regulation and control factors, showing the characteristics of government-led, economic-driven and environmental constraints. Innovating the concept of development, building an innovative economic complex, restructuring and optimizing road space resources, strengthening the flow of resource elements, perfecting rigid ecological protection planning to strengthen constraints, and strengthening the overall management and control of the "three line" should be advocated. Objectives: Severe acute respiratory syndrome - coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a single-stranded positive ribonucleic acid virus of the coronaviridae family. The disease caused by this virus has been named by the World Health Organization coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19), whose main manifestation is interstitial pneumonia. Aim of this study is to describe the radiological features of SARS-CoV-2 infection in its original form, to correlate the high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) patterns with clinical findings, prognosis and mortality, and to establish the need for treatment and admission to the intensive care unit., Material and Methods: From March 2020 to May 2020, 193 patients (72 F and 121 M) who were swab positive for SARS-CoV-2 were retrospectively selected for our study. These patients underwent HRCT in the clinical suspicion of SARS-CoV-2 interstitial pneumonia., Results: Our results confirm the role of radiology and, in particular, of chest HRCT as a technique with high sensitivity in the recognition of the most peculiar features of COVID-19 pneumonia, in the evaluation of severity of the disease, in the correct interpretation of temporal changes of the radiological picture during the follow-up until the resolution, and in obtaining prognostic information, also to direct the treatment., Conclusion: Chest computed tomography cannot be considered as a substitute for real-time - polymerase chain reaction in the diagnosis of COVID-19, but rather supplementary to it in the diagnostic process as it can detect parenchymal changes at an early stage and even before the positive swab, at least for patients who have been symptomatic for more than 3 days., Competing Interests: There are no conflicts of interest., (© 2023 Published by Scientific Scholar on behalf of Journal of Clinical Imaging Science.)

The photonic graphene in atoms not only has the typical photonic band structures but also exhibits controllable optical properties that are difficult to achieve in the natural graphene. Here, the evolution process of discrete diffraction patterns of a photonic graphene, which is constructed through a three-beam interference, is demonstrated experimentally in a 5S 1/2  - 5P 3/2  - 5D 5/2 Rb atomic vapor. The input probe beam experiences a periodic refractive index modulation when traveling through the atomic vapor, and the evolution of output patterns with honeycomb, hybrid-hexagonal, and hexagonal geometric profiles is obtained by controlling the experimental parameters of two-photon detuning and the power of the coupling field. Moreover, the Talbot images of such three kinds of periodic structure patterns at different propagating planes are observed experimentally. This work provides an ideal platform to investigate manipulation the propagation of light in artificial photonic lattices with tunable periodically varying refractive index.85 Rb atomic vapor. To promote sustainable agricultural development in small town areas during rapid industrialization, it is important to study the evolution of agricultural non-point source pollution (ANSP) and its influencing factors in small town areas in the context of rapid industrialization. The non-point source inventory method was used to study the characteristics of ANSP evolution in 14 small town areas in Gongyi City from 2002 to 2019. Using the spatial Durbin model and geographical detectors, the factors influencing ANSP in small town areas were analyzed in terms of spatial spillover effects and the spatial stratified heterogeneity. The results showed a zigzagging downward trend of ANSP equivalent emissions over time. Spatially, the equivalent emissions of ANSP showed a distribution pattern of being high in the west and low in the east. There was a significant positive global spatial autocorrelation feature and there was an inverted "U-shaped" Environmental Kuznets Curve relationship between industrialization and ANSP. Affluence, population size, and cropping structure positively contributed to the reduction of ANSP. Population size, land size, and industrialization were highly influential factors affecting the spatial variation of ANSP and the interaction of these factors was bivariate or nonlinearly enhanced. This study provides a feasible reference for policymakers and managers to develop reasonable management measures to mitigate ANSP in small town areas during rapid industrialization.

Urban expansion is not only reflected in the increase in horizontal urban area, but also in the increase in vertical urban height, that is, the city’s vertical expansion. Exploring the spatiotemporal evolution of urban vertical expansion and its influencing factors is critical for furthering urban expansion research. This paper characterized the degree of urban vertical expansion using the floor area ratio (FAR) of newly added residential land in Jiangsu Province, China, from 2009 to 2018, and discussed the spatiotemporal characteristics, regional differences and influencing factors of urban vertical expansion. The results indicate the following: (1) The degree of urban vertical expansion in Jiangsu Province exhibited an inverted “U” shape that increased and then decreased. Spatially, it presented a pattern of high in the west and low in the east areas, while high in the north and low in the south areas. (2) There were significant α-convergence, β-convergence and club convergence phenomena in Jiangsu Province’s urban vertical expansion. The convergence speed was fast in the north and south areas but slow in the middle. (3) Real estate development investment and slope had a significant positive impact on urban vertical expansion, while urban per capita disposable income and economic structure had a non-linear impact on urban vertical expansion intensity. Finally, this paper highlighted the importance of further investigation into urban expansion from multiple dimensions. The government should strengthen its control over the various land plot ratios to ensure the city’s orderly expansion and healthy development.

Strengthening agricultural carbon emissions (ACE) reduction is an inherent requirement to promote the integrated development of ecological greenery in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD), and it has a significant driving effect and benchmarking significance for China to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Based on panel data of 41 cities in the YRD from 2001 to 2019, this study reveals the spatial and temporal evolution pattern of ACE and identifies the influencing factors through methods such as CV, SDE, ESDA and SDM. The results are summarized as follows: (1) the ACE in the YRD show a fluctuating downward trend, and the gap between cities tends to widen; (2) the YRD shows emission characteristics dominated by agricultural material input, with a proportion of over 50% over the years, followed by rice cultivation and livestock breeding with the lowest proportion. In addition, Jiangsu and Anhui have higher proportions, followed by Zhejiang, and Shanghai; (3) these cities with high ACE are mainly located in the northwest regions of the YRD, and those with low ACE are mainly located in the southeast regions of the YRD. Furthermore, cities in the YRD have a positive global spatial autocorrelation, and the local spatial agglomeration pattern has strong characteristics of stability and spatial dependence; (4) the agricultural economic development level has an inverted U-shaped effect on ACE in the YRD. Meanwhile, the total rural population, total power of agricultural machinery, and urbanization level have a significant positive impact, while the agricultural planting structure and trade openness level are not significantly affected, but the rural non-farm employment level have a significantly negative impact on ACE. SDM further supports the influence of various factors, and it can be found that the agricultural economic development level and trade openness level exhibit significant negative spillover effects. Temporal and spatial pattern evolution model of constructed wetland is a kind of based on ecological processes, can fully display the wetland ecological pattern of time and space dynamic evolution mechanism of spatial display model. Because the model involves a series of ecological processes and can reveal the change process of wetland system structure and function, it has become an important means of wetland planning, evaluation and management. The temporal and spatial pattern evolution model of wetland is one of the hot research areas in recent years. Constructed wetlands are characterized by high complexity and dynamic changes. This paper studies them from the aspects of theoretical basis, key issues of model construction and basic processes. The main contents are as follows: 1. To understand the ecological elements of wetland ecosystem and their interactions. The ecological factors driving the evolution of wetland ecosystem include hydrology, soil, plant community types, climate, landform and other natural geographical factors. It is the key to reveal the spatial heterogeneity of these factors and its influence on the evolution of wetland system. 2. Key problems to be solved in model construction include model structure, appropriate spatial scale and model construction method; 3. The key technology of model construction is the integration of ecosystem model and GIS technology. The research in this paper is mainly aimed at the characteristics of the evolution of the spatio-temporal pattern of wetlands, and is of great significance for wetland planning, protection and management. Agricultural landscape pattern is the internal driving force of industrial development planning. In order to solve the problem that the traditional landscape pattern evolution model has low fitting degree between the result and the actual situation, a model of agricultural environment ecological landscape pattern evolution based on fuzzy mathematics was proposed. The agricultural ecological landscape is divided into natural ecological landscape, residential landscape, production landscape and public service landscape; Remote sensing data preprocessing of agricultural landscape is realized through five steps: band combination, geometric correction, image registration, image clipping and image enhancement; Based on the index extraction equation of landscape pattern constructed by fuzzy mathematical reasoning, the evolution model of agricultural environmental ecological landscape pattern was constructed by fuzzy mathematical theory. The experimental results show that the model has a high degree of fitting between the results and the actual results, which verifies the practical application effect of the model. Changes in the territorial pattern of the Beibu Gulf, an environmentally sensitive and ecologically fragile area in China, will directly or indirectly affect the regional ecological environment, while profoundly influencing economic development and human well-being. Therefore, it is significant to understand the ecological response in the process of territorial space changes in the Beibu Gulf to promote the coordination between sea and land and sustainable regional development. This paper used remote sensing image interpretation to generate land-use maps in 2000, 2010 and 2020, and then analyzed the spatial and temporal evolution of the territorial pattern of the Beibu Gulf from 2000 to 2020. Finally, this paper proposed a comprehensive carrying capacity evaluation system and explored the spatial functional zones of the coastal areas of the Beibu Gulf. The results showed that the demand for urban development and ecological protection between 2000 and 2020 increased built-up land and forestland by 386.71% and 25.56%, respectively, and reduced farmland by 28.33%. There was significant spatial heterogeneity in various land-use types. Where forestland is mainly distributed in the west, farmland is mainly distributed in the east, wetland is mainly distributed in the south, and orchards are spread throughout the whole area. The evaluation results of land resources, water resources and ecological conditions in the Beibu Gulf area showed that its comprehensive carrying capacity was high in the south and low in the north, and high in the west and low in the east. On this basis, this paper considered the actual situation of natural resources, ecological conditions, socio-economic development, protection and development in coastal areas; divided the study area into four categories: developed areas, priority development areas, ecological reserve areas and coastal reserve areas; and put forward corresponding control suggestions. The results of this paper could provide a scientific basis for regional development and territorial spatial planning in the coastal areas.

Talents are not only an important strategic resource for promoting regional development but also a core element for maintaining competitiveness. We organize the evaluation index system of regional talent attraction into the following four aspects: regional development, industry development, income and regional environment. Combined with the talent possession of 31 provinces (cities) from 2010 to 2018, we establish a regression equation of the relationship between the evaluation index and talent possession by using a stepwise regression and the Bayesian prior function. Simultaneously, we apply the spatial autocorrelation analysis method to measure the correlation and agglomeration degree of the talent attraction level of provinces and municipalities in China. The results reveal the following. (1) From 2010 to 2018, the talent attractiveness level of China's provinces shows a steady upward trend with an average annual growth rate of 5.804%. The regional environment has the highest score, and the income level has the lowest score. (2) The level of talent attraction in China shows a decreasing trend from east to west, and the ranking in 2018 was "East Coast > North Coast > Southern Coast > Middle Yangtze River > Middle Yellow River > Southwest > Northeast > Greater Northwest". The trend of spatial agglomeration is apparent and gradually increases over the years. The numbers of hot and cold spots are relatively large and concentrated in the eastern coast and western region, respectively. (3) The level of economic development, quality of people's life, and level of the development of the tertiary industry have a great impact on the attractiveness of talents. Talents also pay more attention to regional medical, education and transportation indicators. These research results can provide some guidance and references for the formulation of talent introduction policies in various provinces and municipalities.

Under the background of "the Belt and Road" and "China, Mongolia and Russia economic corridor" initiatives, this paper studied the spatial distribution pattern evolution of population and economy in Russia since the 21st century, which could provide implications for the regional development planning, economic optimization layout, energy resource development, transportation infrastructure construction between China and Russia. Combined with the panel data of population, GDP, land area, etc., we used the gravity center analysis, geographic concentration degree, and inconsistency index to study Russia's population pattern evolution trend, economic pattern evolution trend, spatial inconsistency types of population distribution and economic development. The results and conclusions are as follows. Russia's population and economic gravity centers have migrated towards the northwest direction. Russia's population and economic distribution pattern presents the unbalanced development trend, which could be characterized by the differentiation pattern of "High West, Low East" and "High South, Low North" divided by the Ural Federal District. In the southwest areas of Russia, the population concentration degree is higher than the economic concentration degree in most federal subjects. In the northeast areas of Russia, the economic concentration degree is higher than the population concentration degree in most federal subjects.
