This research study on “Development of Nora Performance and Management System for Creative Economy” is a qualitative research that aims to study 1) historical background, popular traditions, beliefs and management system of Nora performance; 2) problems encountered pertaining Nora performance and its management system; and 3) an appropriate model for development of Nora performance and management system for the creative economy. The target area of the research is a selection of 6 Nora performance teams in 3 provinces – Pathalung, Nakhon Sri Thammarat and Trang. The research methods are comprised of documentation studies, observations, interviews, group discussion and workshop. Data analysis was performed through a descriptive analysis. The research findings show that historical background of Nora ensembles are mostly derived and promoted from the families, relatives and other interested group of people. The research also finds that there are 9 elements of Nora performance, which comprise 1) the theater and scenes to be used for Nora performance; 2) the outstanding costumes to be used; 3) the musical instruments; 4) light and sound decoration; 5) the number of performers (20-70); 6) the stories to be performed; 7) the manager; 8) the popular traditions of performance; 9) Nora traditional beliefs. In terms of problems encountered, it was found that the popularity of Nora performance has decreased, since nowadays there is more technological media, thereby decreasing the amount of revenue and the degree of Nora inheritance. The research found that in developing Nora performance and management system for creative economy, the local curriculum should be developed for school use or educational academies. Besides, it may be developed in the form of a website database, books and videos, all of which should be aimed to meet public relations targets and distribution as well as to increase revenue. The local institutions should render cooperation and frequently promote the support of Nora performances.

Bakgrunnen for oppgaven ligger i at avløpsvannet fra produksjon av syltete rødbeter, sylteagurker, surkål m.m. ikke overholder kravene som er gitt i påslippsavtalen med kommunen. Dette kan føre til konsekvenser for fabrikkeierne, og ha negative konsekvenser på avløpsnettet. Denne oppgaven har fokusert på å finne årsaken til disse problemene samtidig som den gjør en teknisk analyse av mulige løsninger som kan fungere for anlegget. På anlegget er det blitt gjort undersøkelser avløpsvannets alkalitet, innhold og egenskaper over tid. Denne oppgaven er gjort parallelt med en oppgave som fokuserer på biogasspotensiale i avløpsvannet og løsninger for utnytting av dette. Undersøkelsene av avløpsvannet viste en forskjell i eddiksyre før og etter lagring. I tillegg ble det funnet en pH-reduksjon ved lagring av anaerobe forhold som kunne tilsvare det som er observert på renseanlegget. Hvis man i tillegg til dette tar hensyn til avløpsvannets høye innhold av lett nedbrytbart materiale kan dette i stor grad tyde på anaerobe nedbrytningsprosesser. Disse nedbrytningsprosessen fører til produksjonen av flyktige fettsyrer (som eddiksyre) og under riktige forhold en forsuring av avløpsvannet. Det er kommet fram til to tiltak for å forhindre problemer med lav pH ved utløp. Det første tiltaket kan være å flytte dosering av lut til etter buffertankene for å øke pH-en til avløpsvannet direkte. Det andre tiltaket kan være å bygge et lufteanlegg som ville forhindre anaerob nedbrytning av avløpsvannet og følgende forsuring av avløpsvannet. I tillegg anbefales utbedringer av renseanleggets dosering og automasjon. Videre analyser av avløpsvannet anbefales før tiltak utføres og vurderes. Det bør gjøres i samarbeid med ansvarlig kommune for å minimere eventuelle negative effekter et tiltak vil ha på avløpsnettet. This thesis has its background in the wastewater from the production of pickled beetroot, pickles, sauerkraut and more, that does not meet the requirements set by the municipality. This can lead to consequences for the factory owners as well as causing harm to the municipal sewer lines. The thesis has focused on finding the root cause of the problem in addition to reviewing some technical solutions to relieve this problem. At the facility tests were conducted to measure the wastewaters alkalinity, contents and qualities over time. This thesis was also done in parallel to a thesis that investigated the biogas potential in the wastewater and possible solutions to exploit it. The investigation regarding the wastewater found a difference in the content of acetic acid before and after storage. In addition, a pH reduction after storage in anaerobic condition, that could correspond to observation made at the treatment facility. If you also consider, the high content of easily degradable organic content this could all point to an anaerobic digestion process. These anaerobic processes involve the production volatile fatty acids (like acetic acid) and can under the right conditions lead to acidification of the wastewater. Measures to prevent future problems could be to move the lye dosing after the buffer tanks, or build an aeration facility to prevent anaerobic digestion. In addition, upgrading of the dosing and automation system is recommended to improve performance. Further analysis could prove beneficial when discussing and evaluating different treatment options. In addition, a close cooperation with the municipality is suggested to minimize the negative effects a facility can have on the municipal sewer system. M-VM

Caratterizzazione mineralogico-petrografica di materiali lapidei naturali e artificiali provenienti da Tharros e Nora, due fra i siti archeologici più importanti della Sardegna fenicio-punica e romana.

This paper aims to shed light on the findings of the digging process of the water disposal system of the area of Terme Centrali in Nora carried out between 2008 and 2012. The analysis based on the study of the constructive technique, on materials and stratigraphic reports requires further actions to clarify life stages of the sewage pipe, which has been dated to the II-III century AD and considered as an inferior sewer in regard to the baths and to the area itself., Il contenuto ha l’obiettivo di fornire i risultati degli interventi di scavo effettuati tra il 2008 e il 2012 del sistema di smaltimento delle acque nel quartiere delle Terme Centrali. L’analisi basata sullo studio della tecnica costruttiva, sui materiali e sui rapporti stratigrafici si pone come preambolo necessario per un intervento più approfondito atto a chiarire le fasi di vita del condotto fognario, datato al II-III secolo d.C. e individuato come cloaca di secondo ordine, in relazione alle Terme e al quartiere nel suo complesso.

Il presente contributo nasce in seguito alla volontà di comprendere in maniera più approfondita l’area, scavata già negli anni ’50, delle “case a mare” e più specificatamente il settore settentrionale del quartiere, denominato settore A. L’area indagata comprende 5 ambienti distinti riconducibili a due diverse unità abitative: alla prima appartengono gli ambiente Aa, Ab ed Ac mentre alla seconda gli ambienti Ad ed Ae. Gli ambienti sono stati descritti allo stato attuale, successivamente è stato descritto l’intervento di ricostruzione virtuale che si è effettuato. Le ricostruzioni qui presentate si basano: sul confronto con altre unità abitative esterne al sito di Nora (Ostia e Pompei soprattutto) e sull’osservazione diretta delle evidenze archeologiche presenti in situ. Il cosiddetto Ninfeo di Nora, città romana nei pressi di Cagliari fu scoperto negli anni ‘50. Gli scavi furono finalizzati prevalentemente a valorizzare un’area economicamente depressa e perciò furono condotti con il fine di riportare in luce strutture scenografiche e i restauri con l’intento di conservare i mosaici in situ. Questo fece sì che la questione metodologica, la coerenza cronologica delle strutture visibili e il loro valore stratigrafico passasse in secondo piano. Per cercare di ricostruire le diverse fasi cronologiche del Ninfeo di è cercato di individuare frustuli di mosaico ed intonaco non intaccati dagli interventi del passato e si è cercato di ricostruire una dettagliata documentazione, partendo proprio dalla elaborazione di una corretta planimetria dell’area e di tutte le strutture emerse., LANX. Un’introduzione al convegno. Sono tipici di Nora i molti strati, che testimoniano della lunga vita della città. Nell’area centrale, gli scavi dell’Università di Milano hanno mostrato almeno sette fasi urbane sovrapposte, ciascuna con propri aspetti. Anche per questo Nora è stata sempre uno stage ideale per la formazione di giovani archeologi. Molti di loro mostrano qui di seguito i risultati delle loro ricerche., LANX. Per quanto riguarda i litotipi in uso a Nora, l'interpretazione dei dati editi risulta spesso molto difficile a causa dell'uso da parte degli studiosi umanisti di una terminologia poco scientifica per definire i diversi tipi di materiali lapidei, nonché per la frequente mancanza di una adeguata documentazione fotografica a corredo di articoli e relazioni di scavo. A questo si aggiunge il fatto che l'identificazione dei materiali lapidei in opera negli edifici norensi è spesso l'esito di un riconoscimento effettuato esclusivamente a livello macroscopico, e basato sulle personali conoscenze degli archeologi, non sempre adeguatamente preparati e capaci di riconoscere le diverse qualità delle rocce. Questo articolo vuole dare un contributo per fare chiarezza sulle tipologie dei litotipi utilizzati nell'edilizia dell'abitato di Nora, fornendo una classificazione dei materiali utilizzati in rapporto a quelli delle antiche aree di estrazione presenti nel territorio norense.

The highly adaptive opportunistic human pathogen, Staphylococcus aureus, contains a large number of integral membrane transport proteins important in homeostasis and pathogenesis. Included in this group are multidrug efflux pumps which play a role in antimicrobial resistance by reducing the intracellular concentration of drug compounds through active extrusion from the cell. S. aureus encodes many such drug efflux proteins, which fall into four out of the six currently recognized drug transporter families. These efflux pumps can confer host resistance against a vast number of clinically relevant antimicrobials, including macrolides, quinolones, streptogramins, and tetracyclines, as well as biocides such as biguanidines, diamidines, and quaternary ammonium compounds. The prevalence of these drug efflux determinants, either chromosomally or plasmid encoded, has been established worldwide, with clinical isolates expressing numerous multidrug transport proteins being continually identified. In addition to the characterized drug transporters, the recent surge in sequencing has also revealed a number of putative drug efflux proteins; some of these may share characteristics of known pumps, but, as seen with the recent addition of the proteobacterial antimicrobial compound efflux family, may represent proteins which are unique.

Un frammento di ansa di anfora, rinvenuto durante la campagna di scavo Nora 2011, presenta impresso sul dorso un bollo recante le lettere “T . V . P” tra di loro separate da due triangoli posti come punti divisori. Tale bollo è risultato pertinente ad un'anfora Gauloise 4, di produzione Narbonense e diffusa tra il I e il III sec. d.C. Si tratta di una delle poche testimonianze fornite dalla città di Nora relative ai commerci tra la Gallia e la Sardegna meridionale., LANX. Four novel inhibitors of the NorA efflux pump of Staphylococcus aureus, discovered through a virtual screening process, are reported. The four compounds belong to different chemical classes and were tested for their in vitro ability to block the efflux of a well-known NorA substrate, as well as for their ability to potentiate the effect of ciprofloxacin (CPX) on several strains of S. aureus, including a NorA overexpressing strain. Additionally, the MIC values of each of the compounds individually are reported. A structure-activity relationship study was also performed on these novel chemotypes, revealing three new compounds that are also potent NorA inhibitors. The virtual screening procedure employed FLAP, a new methodology based on GRID force field descriptors.

The increasing multi-drug resistance has become a major threat to the public health. Overexpression of multidrug efflux pumps is one of the major mechanisms of drug resistance in bacteria. Since active efflux of antibacterial agents plays a significant role in mediating drug resistance in bacteria, the inhibition of efflux pumps appears to be a promising strategy to restore antibacterial potency. In recent years, in order to address this grave problem of multiple drug resistance mediated by efflux pump, a large number of efflux pump inhibitors have been discovered and tested, including natural products, antibiotics and synthetic molecules. This review mainly describes recent achievements in the search for new molecules that are able to inhibit efflux pumps in both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, in particular emphasis on natural and synthetic inhibitors of the NorA efflux pump in Staphylococcus aureus, MexAB-OprM efflux pump in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and AcrAB-TolC efflux pump in Enterobacteriaceae, giving special attention to their mechanisms of action, structureactivity relationships and synergetic effect with clinically available antibiotics. Focusing on classical urban centres, the thesis discusses the topic of dating archaeological deposits through the study of the embedded assemblages. Although this represents a fundamental activity, routinely carried out after the fieldwork, it is still clearly poorly strucutred both from a theoretical perspective and from a methodological one. Hence, the work proposes a review of the main concepts involved in the issue of dating deposits and proposes analytical and comparative tools to be employed. It follows a taxonomy of archaeological deposits, based on their very informative potential for dating purposes and equipped with case studies. Eventually, the thesis proposes a structured working method, which goes from fieldwork to publishing.
