Large vessel occlusion in patients on ECMO is challenging to appreciate clinically secondary to sedation or induced paralysis, thus placing more emphasis on neurovascular imaging. However, emergent CTA and CTP are both inaccurate and unreliable in ECMO patients due to altered circuitry and interference with normal physiologic hemodynamics. In this review, the utility of DSA is discussed in evaluating the altered hemodynamics of VA-ECMO circuits and patency of major vasculature. The aim of current study was to test the ability and optimize the decolorization of textile azo Reactive Orange 122 by Streptomyces sp (A5) isolated from dye contaminated soil. The decolorization ability of the isolate Streptomyces sp (A5) was assessed by spectrophotometer at 3, 5 and 7 days in starch nitrate broth media amended with 0.35 g/L of the Reactive Orange 122 azo dye. Different incubation conditions like concentration of the dye, temperature and pH were used in the present study to investigate their effect on the decolorization rate. The potential isolate Streptomyces sp (A5) exhibited significant decolorization ability at 5 days of incubation. The optimum conditions were found for degradation of Reactive Orange 122 azo dye by the isolate Streptomyces sp (A5). The maximum degradations were noticed at 0.3 g/L of dye concentration, 6 pH and 35 °C temperature, respectively. In conclusion, the results of the current study showed that the isolate Streptomyces sp (A5) was effectively degraded the textile dye Reactive Orange 122 azo dye under the optimized conditions. Introduction. The goal of this study was to compare the impact of ischaemic compression and kinesiotape on pain, physical function, and resting myoelectric activity of vastus medialis and vastus lateralis muscles in patients with unilateral acute patellar tendinitis. Methods. Overall, 33 patients were randomly assigned to 3 equal groups. Group A received ischaemic compression and conventional treatment of patellar tendinitis. Group B received kinesiotape and conventional treatment of patellar tendinitis. Group C received only conventional treatment. Each patient received 3 sessions per week for 1 month. Pain intensity, physical function, and resting myoelectric activity were measured before, after, and after another 2 weeks of completion of the study. Results. The results showed a statistically significant improvement in all the variables between the pre-intervention, post-intervention, and follow-up evaluations in the 3 groups (p < 0.05). Conclusions. Kinesiotape is more effective than ischaemic compression in decreasing pain intensity level, improving physical function, and enhancing the activity of vastus lateralis and vastus medialis muscles in patients with unilateral acute patellar tendinitis. In the present work, a novel sensitive electrochemical carbon paste electrode chemically modified with yttrium doped manganese oxide Mn2O3/Y2O3 nanostructures was assigned for determination of marbofloxacin (MRB) using square wave voltammetry (SWV) method. MRB has a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity for the treatment of urinary, respiratory and dermatological diseases in bovines and their retention in animal meats and milk leads to adverse side effects for the consumer. Thus a rapid estimation of minor concentrations of MRB has exerted a great concern to ensure food safety. XRD, EDX, Raman spectroscopy, SEM, and TEM techniques were employed to characterize the samples. The electrochemical oxidation behavior of MRB shows irreversible anodic peak at 1.10 V vs Ag/AgCl, in Britton-Robinson buffer (BR) at pH 5.0. The relationship was rectilinear over the range 10 × 10-9-1.0 × 10-4 M between the peak current and its related concentration with a minimum detection limit of 2.4 × 10-9 M. The developed method was green chemistry challenges and successfully applied to assay the drug in its dosage form, bovine meat and milk samples with a good recovery lies between 94.56% and 105.33% with relative standard deviation less than 10%. Anthrone tautomerized predominantly, under the reaction conditions, into anthrol and involved in the azo coupling reaction with aryl diazonium chloride to give the corresponding azo dye. UV-Vis experiments have supported the tautomerization of anthrone and the presence of the azo dye products in the hydrazone form. Aryl amines with broad biological applications have been involved to increase the utility of the obtained products. Preliminary antibacterial activity resulted in compounds 7a,d which showed the lowest MIC values of 0.2 and 0.1 × 10−3 µg/mL against Enterococcus feacalis and Escherichia coli, respectively. Furthermore, the insecticidal activity of the nominated compounds 7a,b against the adults of vine mealybug, Planococcusficus (Signoret), showed LC50 values of 152.22 and 216.12 mg/mL, respectively. The link between Vitamin-D deficiency and type 2 diabetes (T2D) is well-established. Since prediabetic obese populations have the greatest risk to develop to T2D, it was important in our study to examine serum 25(OH) D3 concentration among prediabetic obese patients and to evaluate the correlation between serum level of vitamin D and BMI, FBS, HOMA IR and HbA1c among prediabetes patients. A multicenter case control study was carried out among 101 prediabetic persons & 50 controls, after obtaining consent from subjects and clearance from institutional ethics committee. Serum vitamin D level, Plasma levels of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and fasting insulin levels were measured by ELISA in both groups enrolled in the study. The prevalence of vitamin-D deficiency/insufficiency was (73.3%) (n = 74) among 101 prediabetic obese individuals. Also, A significant inverse correlation was observed between vitamin D levels & body mass index(r = - 0.28, P = 0.004); fasting blood sugar (r = - 0.22, P = 0.002); HOMA insulin resistance (r = - 0.25 P = 0.01); HbA1C (r = - 0.2, P = 0.004). High prevalence of vitamin D deficiency exists among obese prediabetic individuals and there is significant inverse correlation between BMI, FBS, HOMA IR, HbA1c and vitamin D level. This study aimed to compare changes in biomarkers of nutrient metabolism, thyroid hormones and oxidative stress parameters present during the early (EL) and mid-lactation (ML) stages in dairy cows reared under the hot summer conditions at Assiut city, Upper Egypt. Blood serum of twenty nine multiparous clinically healthy lactating Holstein Fresien cows (16 early lactating and 13 mid lactating cows) belonged to a private farm located under the same temperatures and living conditions were used in this study. Cows of ML had significantly lower values (P < 0.05) than those of EL stage for glucose and cholesterol concentrations and also non-significantly differences in total protein, albumin and triglycerides (P>0.05). Similarly, non-significance differences (P> 0.05) were found between the two lactation stages for thyroid hormones (Triiodothyronine, Thyroxine). For oxidants/antioxidant parameters, ML cows had significantly decreased values (P<0.05) for Superoxide dismutase and significantly increased values (P<0.05) for Glutathione S-Transfereas activities than those of EL as well as non-significantly differences (P>0.05) for Malondialdehyde concentrations and catalase activity. Pearson’s correlation coefficients between the metabolic parameters, thyroid hormones and oxidative indices in early and mid-stages of lactation showed different positive and also negative correlations. Can be concluded that this study gives evidence that the lactating cows undergo a substantial oxidative stress that related to metabolic and physiological adaptation during early lactation to mid lactation stages under the under the influence of high temperature conditions at Upper Egypt. Oxidative stress index (OSI) is recently used as a valid tool for providing an in depth picture about redox status and oxidative stress. The study was conducted on Fourteen multiparous, singleton bearing Osimi ewes (1.5-2 years, 35-40 kg) belonging to agriculture research station, Assiut district, A.R. Egypt during spring (as controls, N=7) and during summer (as heat stressed, N=7). Ewes were blood sampled weekly throughout the last three weeks prepartum and weekly throughout the first three weeks post-lambing for determination of blood serum lipids and oxidative stress biomarkers. Results showed increased blood serum total cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein LDL (p<0.05) before lambing and then decreased (p<0.05) after lambing. Total Cholesterol, triglycerides and HDL was lower (p<0.05) in summer compared to spring. In spring and summer, total peroxide (TPX) increased at the first week (p<0.05) before and after lambing in addition to summer values were higher (p<0.05) than spring values. In spring, total antioxidant capacity (TAC) increased at the second week (p<0.05) after lambing, whereas a reverse trend was noticed in summer season, so that summer TAC values were lower (p<0.05) than spring values. Pearson's Product Moment Correlation between TPX and TAC did not reveal significant indication. However, values of oxidative stress index (OSI= TPX / TAC) x100 progressively increased (p<0.05) in summer and reached its maximal value at the first week after lambing, then steadily decreased until reached the basal data at the third week after lambing. Summer TPX values were higher (p<0.05) than spring values. This study is the first to evaluate the degree of OS in HS ewes during the peripartum period by detection of TPX, TAC and OSI values. Our data clarified that the maximal oxidative stress occurred at the first week after parturition that was associated with an increase of prooxidants rather than reduction of antioxidants during spring. Background: Urinary angiotensinogen levels are higher in type 2 diabetes patients with nephropathy, a risk factor for developing renal and cardiovascular consequences. However, the potential relationship between serum urine angiotensinogen levels and albuminuria (in terms of its varying concentrations) is not yet established. As a result, we conduct this research. Methods: Sixtysix adults with type 2diabetes were split into three groups, each of which included 22 people based on their degree of albuminuria, in addition to an ageand gender-matched control group of 22 healthy volunteers. Routine laboratory tests and urine angiotensinogen were evaluated in the study groups and correlated to other study parameters. Results: The current study showed that urine angiotensinogen levels are more significant in diabetic patients with higher albuminuria levels, and it was also found to be associated with urinary albumin excretion in diabetic patients with different grades of albuminuria (n = 66, r = 0.666, p<0.001), and it had highly significant validity in the prediction of albuminuria among individuals with diabetes with sensitivity of 88.6%, specificity of 81.8% and accuracy of 86.4%. Conclusions: According to the findings of this study, increased urine angiotensinogen levels were associated with urinary albumin excretion, and elevated urinary angiotensinogen might be utilized as an effective marker for identifying the degree of albuminuria in diabetic individuals.
