It remains a challenge to develop UV nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals that can achieve a desirable trade-off on UV absorption edge, second harmonic generation (SHG), and birefringence. Here we report a thiosulfate UV NLO crystal of a 2D van der Waals layered structure, [C(NH2)3]2SO3S. Remarkably, this thiosulfate realizes the desired trade-off, with a short absorption edge of 254 nm, a strong SHG response of approximately 2.8 times that of the benchmark KH2PO4, and a sufficient birefringence of 0.073 at the wavelength of 546 nm. In addition, it exhibits strong in-plane anisotropy of the SHG intensity. According to the first-principles calculations, the non-π-conjugated [SO3S]2- anion is the dominant SHG functional gene, while the π-conjugated [C(NH2)3]+ cation serves as the functional gene of birefringence. This is different from common UV NLO materials whose functionals of SHG and birefringence are the same. These findings indicate that combining different function genes may be an effective strategy to develop outstanding NLO materials with the desirable property trade-off.

OPC UA PubSub Over TSN is the core of the Industrial Internet and guarantees flexible interaction features for multiple parties in real-time for industrial communication. To achieve the transmission of time-triggered traffic in PubSub NetworkMessage, routing and scheduling data need to be analyzed. Traditional routing and scheduling methods have disadvantages such as low calculation efficiency, slow convergence speed, and poor reliability. Therefore, a routing and scheduling method for OPC UA PubSub NetworkMessage time-triggered traffic based on an improved ant colony algorithm is proposed. First, we analyze the network topology model, traffic model, and traffic transmission constraints of TSN; then, we apply the K-means clustering algorithm, the KSP algorithm based on the shortest path idea, and an improved ant colony algorithm for traffic classification, routing, and scheduling calculation. Experimental results show that this method can effectively reduce the delay increase caused by link congestion, improve the ability to schedule time-triggered traffic, and accelerate the convergence rate of iteration.

A major barrier to adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy is the inability to re-dose patients due to formation of vector-induced neutralizing antibodies (Nabs). Tolerogenic nanoparticles encapsulating rapamycin (ImmTOR) provide long-term and specific suppression of adaptive immune responses, allowing for vector re-dosing. Moreover, co-administration of hepatotropic AAV vectors and ImmTOR leads to an increase of transgene expression even after the first dose. ImmTOR and AAV Anc80 encoding the methylmalonyl-coenzyme A (CoA) mutase (MMUT) combination was tested in a mouse model of methylmalonic acidemia, a disease caused by mutations in the MMUT gene. Repeated co-administration of Anc80 and ImmTOR was well tolerated and led to nearly complete inhibition of immunoglobulin (Ig)G antibodies to the Anc80 capsid. A more profound decrease of plasma levels of the key toxic metabolite, plasma methylmalonic acid (pMMA), and disease biomarker, fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21), was observed after treatment with the ImmTOR and Anc80-MMUT combination. In addition, there were higher numbers of viral genomes per cell (vg/cell) and increased transgene expression when ImmTOR was co-administered with Anc80-MMUT. These effects were dose-dependent, with the higher doses of ImmTOR providing higher vg/cell and mRNA levels, and an improved biomarker response. Combining of ImmTOR and AAV can not only block the IgG response against capsid, but it also appears to potentiate transduction and enhance therapeutic transgene expression in the mouse model., Graphical abstract, Kishimoto and colleagues extend their earlier findings showing that combining ImmTOR rapamycin-encapsulated nanoparticles with hepatotropic AAV vector leads to increased transduction, transgene expression, and suppression of IgG responses and therefore enables effective therapeutic AAV vector re-dosing in a mouse model of methylmalonic acidemia, an inborn metabolic disease.

Herein, a novel series of dual histone deacetylase (HDAC) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) inhibitors were designed, synthesized and biologically evaluated based on previously reported pazopanib-based HDAC and VEGFR dual inhibitors. Most target compounds showed significant HDAC1, HDAC6 and VEGFR2 inhibition, which contributed to their potent antiproliferative activities against multiple cancer cell lines and significant antiangiogenic potencies in both human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) tube formation assays and rat thoracic aorta ring assays. Further HDAC selectivity evaluations indicated that hydroxamic acids 5 and 9e possessed HDAC isoform selectivity profiles similar to that of the approved HDAC inhibitor suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid(SAHA), while hydrazide12 presented an HDAC isoform selectivity profilesimilar to that of the clinical HDAC inhibitor MS-275. The VEGFR inhibition profiles of 5, 9e and 12 were similar to that of the approved VEGFR inhibitor pazopanib. The intracellular target engagements of Compounds 5 and 12 were confirmed by western blot analysis. The metabolic stabilities of 5, 9e and 12 in mouse liver microsomes were inferior to that of pazopanib. These dual HDAC and VEGFR inhibitors provide lead compounds for further structural optimization to obtainpolypharmacological anticancer agents.

The present paper focused on how a third party's social status affects third-party intervention to maintain social fairness. Study 1 adopted a quasi-experimental design. Selecting high and low-status members of real social groups, we observed that high-status individuals intervened more forcibly and more frequently when assessing the fairness of players' behavior in a dictator game (DG). The manifestation of social status is generally divided into power and economic capital. In Study 2a, using the same DG punishment-compensation paradigm we randomly assigned the third party in the lab to high, medium, and low impact conditions, where their actions had relative multiplier effects on the resources retained by dictators and recipients. This tested whether the power to influence the situation would systematically affect third party's behavior. We found that greater influence predicted increased interventions. Study 2b investigated the influence of economic capital or intrinsic wealth on a third party's altruistic behavior by varying how much capital the third party had at their disposal to spend on punishment or recompensing. Having high capital predicted an increase in the size of penalty inflicted or compensation offered, but resource abundance had no effect on the likelihood that the third party would intervene. In conclusion, the paper showed that the social status of the third party truly does affect their altruistic interventions and the impact of social status on altruistic behaviors for maintaining fairness by the third party occurred primarily through the third parties' perception of their power. Furthermore, the influence of gain and loss contexts and social status on third-party punishment and compensation were independent of each other. This paper provided a new perspective for third-party altruistic behaviors and help to clarify the view of social fairness.

Herlyn–Werner–Wunderlich syndrome (HWWS) is a rare congenital malformation characterized by uterus didelphys, unilateral blind hemivagina, and ipsilateral renal agenesis. The obstructed vagina affects menstrual flow, leading to related clinical symptoms after menarche. However, the age of onset, initial symptoms, and clinical complications differ among patients owing to the different types of vaginal septum. Herein, we report 2 cases. The first case is of a 20-year-old woman who presented with fever; she was diagnosed with vaginitis and pelvic inflammation due to the vaginal septum with ostiole. The second case is of a 12-year-old girl who complained of abdominal pain; she was diagnosed as having pelvic inflammation, omentitis, and suppurative appendicitis due to the atretic vaginal septum.

Objective: To develop a machine learning-based model for predicting the risk of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) after cardiac surgery. Methods: Data were collected from 1011 patients who underwent cardiac surgery between February 2018 and September 2019. We developed a predictive model on ARDS by using the random forest algorithm of machine learning. The discrimination of the model was then shown by the area under the curve (AUC) of the receiver operating characteristic curve. Internal validation was performed by using a 5-fold cross-validation technique, so as to evaluate and optimize the predictive model. Model visualization was performed to reveal the most influential features during the model output. Results: Of the 1011 patients included in the study, 53 (5.24%) suffered ARDS episodes during the first postoperative week. This random forest distinguished ARDS patients from non-ARDS patients with an AUC of 0.932 (95% CI=0.896-0.968) in the training set and 0.864 (95% CI=0.718-0.997) In the final test set. The top 10 variables in the random forest were cardiopulmonary bypass time, transfusion red blood cell, age, EUROSCORE II Score, albumin, hemoglobin, operation time, serum creatinine, diabetes, and type of surgery. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that machine learning algorithm is highly effective in predicting ARDS in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The successful application of the generated random forest may guide clinical decision making and aid in improving the long-term prognosis of patients.

Purpose: Radiolabeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) imaging has proven feasible in the assessment of ventricular fibrosis in several cardiovascular diseases. However, its value in assessing atrial fibrosis in atrial fibrillation (AF) remains unknown. Methods: Twenty-eight patients with AF and 25 sex-matched controls underwent baseline FAPI PET/CT imaging. Left atrial appendage (LAA) specimens were obtained from seven patients and two lung transplant donors. Atrial pacing beagle dog AF models were constructed by pacemaker implantation. After 8 weeks of pacing, the animals underwent FAPI PET/CT imaging and specimens from the left atrial and right atrial (LA, RA) were collected. FAPI activities in the LA, RA, and LAA were measured by target-to-background ratio (TBR), and the mRNA and protein expression of fibroblast activation protein (FAP) and collagen I were measured by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and western blot. Results: FAPI imaging identified increased atrial uptake in 17 patients with persistent AF (PsAF) (85.00%) and 5 with paroxysmal AF (PAF) (62.50%), located in the LA (64.28%), RA (57.14%), and LAA (42.86%). In all atrial structures, patients with PsAF had a higher prevalence of enhanced FAPI uptake than those with PAF (63.33% vs. 33.33%, P = 0.02). LA dilation and B-type natriuretic peptide level were determined as independent factors for increased LAA and RA FAPI uptake, respectively (OR: 1.11 and 1.02, both P < 0.05). All five beagles with AF had increased FAPI uptake in the LA and RA. For both human and animal specimens, FAPI activity was strongly associated with the mRNA and protein levels of FAP, and was closely related to the mRNA expression of collagen I. Conclusion: This preliminary study suggests that FAPI imaging is feasible for assessing activated fibroblasts in the atriums of AF.

Background: Postoperative complications have been reported in elderly patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgical procedures, despite advancements in surgical and perioperative care. The clinical benefits of pleth variability index-directed fluid management for geriatric gastrointestinal surgical patients remain unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of intraoperative goal-directed fluid therapy based on the pleth variability index on geriatric gastrointestinal surgical outcomes.Methods: This randomised controlled trial was conducted in two university teaching hospitals from November 2017 to December 2020. A total of 220 older adults undergoing gastrointestinal surgery were randomised to the goal-directed fluid therapy group or conventional fluid therapy group (n=110 each). The final analyses included 201 patients (conventional fluid therapy group, n=99; goal-directed fluid therapy group, n=102). The patients received intraoperative goal-directed fluid therapy (pleth variability index Results: The total volumes of fluid administered and crystalloid infusion were less in the goal-directed fluid therapy group than in the conventional fluid therapy group (P=0.009 and P=0.007, respectively). Lactate concentrations at the beginning of surgery and at discharge were comparable between the conventional fluid therapy group and the goal-directed fluid therapy group (P=0.675 and P=0.733, respectively). The proportion of patients who died or experienced complications was similar between the conventional fluid therapy group and the goal-directed fluid therapy group (45.5% vs. 48.0%, P=0.713). The proportion of major postoperative complications was higher in the conventional fluid therapy group (25.3% vs. 13.7%, P=0.039). No significant between-group differences in the time to first flatus and postoperative length of stay were identified (P=0.415 and P=0.492, respectively).Conclusions: Among elderly patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery, intraoperative goal-directed fluid therapy based on the pleth variability index did not reduce the occurrence of composite postoperative complications but was associated with a lower major postoperative complication rate than conventional fluid therapy.Trial Registration: http://www.chictr.org.cn/showproj.aspx?proj=20828, Identifier: ChiCTR-TRC-17012220

AIMS The nuclear proliferation biomarker Ki67 plays potential prognostic and predictive roles in breast cancer treatment. However, the lack of interpathologist consistency in Ki67 assessment limits the clinical use of Ki67. The aim of this article was to report a solution utilising an artificial intelligence (AI)-empowered microscope to improve Ki67 scoring concordance. METHODS AND RESULTS We developed an AI-empowered microscope in which the conventional microscope was equipped with AI algorithms, and AI results were provided to pathologists in real time through augmented reality. We recruited 30 pathologists with various experience levels from five institutes to assess the Ki67 labelling index on 100 Ki67-stained slides from invasive breast cancer patients. In the first round, pathologists conducted visual assessment on a conventional microscope; in the second round, they were assisted with reference cards; and in the third round, they were assisted with an AI-empowered microscope. Experienced pathologists had better reproducibility and accuracy [intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) = 0.864, mean error = 8.25%] than inexperienced pathologists (ICC = 0.807, mean error = 11.0%) in visual assessment. Moreover, with reference cards, inexperienced pathologists (ICC = 0.836, mean error = 10.7%) and experienced pathologists (ICC = 0.875, mean error = 7.56%) improved their reproducibility and accuracy. Finally, both experienced pathologists (ICC = 0.937, mean error = 4.36%) and inexperienced pathologists (ICC = 0.923, mean error = 4.71%) improved the reproducibility and accuracy significantly with the AI-empowered microscope. CONCLUSION The AI-empowered microscope allows seamless integration of the AI solution into the clinical workflow, and helps pathologists to obtain higher consistency and accuracy for Ki67 assessment.

Solar-driven hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production presents unique merits of sustainability and environmental friendliness. Herein, efficient solar-driven H2O2 production through dioxygen reduction is achieved by employing polymeric carbon nitride framework with sodium cyanaminate moiety, affording a H2O2 production rate of 18.7 μmol h −1 mg−1 and an apparent quantum yield of 27.6% at 380 nm. The overall photocatalytic transformation process is systematically analyzed, and some previously unknown structural features and interactions are substantiated via experimental and theoretical methods. The structural features of cyanamino group and pyridinic nitrogen-coordinated soidum in the framework promote photon absorption, alter the energy landscape of the framework and improve charge separation efficiency, enhance surface adsorption of dioxygen, and create selective 2e− oxygen reduction reaction surface-active sites. Particularly, an electronic coupling interaction between O2 and surface, which boosts the population and prolongs the lifetime of the active shallow-trapped electrons, is experimentally substantiated., Solar-driven H2O2 production presents a renewable approach to chemical synthesis. The derivatives of 7-amino-6-nitro-[1,2,5]oxadiazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-1-oxide (named A–L) are optimized to obtain their molecular geometries and electronic structures at the both DFT-B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p) and DFT-B3PW91/6-31+G(d,p) levels of theory. Similar quantum chemical results are obtained by B3LYP and B3PW91 methods. The sublimation enthalpies and heats of formation (HOFs) in gas phase and solid state of these compounds were calculated. The detonation performance had been estimated via Kamlet-Jacobs equation. Sensitivity was evaluated by characteristic heights (H50). The results show that all the derivations have large positive HOFs values. The detonation properties (D = 9.54 km s–1, P = 40.89 GPa, Q = 2248.39 cal g–1) and impact sensitivities of derivative K are superior to the conventional explosives such as RDX, HMX. 7-Amino-6-nitro-5-nitro-[1,2,5]oxadiazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-1-oxide (derivative K) can be regarded as potential candidates of high energy density compounds.

As the technology development, the future advanced combustion engines must be designed to perform at a low temperature. Thus, it is a great challenge to synthesize high active and stable catalysts to resolve exhaust below 100 °C. Here, we report that bismuth as a dopant is added to form platinum-bismuth cluster on silica for CO oxidation. The highly reducible oxygen species provided by surface metal-oxide (M-O) interface could be activated by CO at low temperature (~50 °C) with a high CO2 production rate of 487 μmolCO2·gPt−1·s−1 at 110 °C. Experiment data combined with density functional calculation (DFT) results demonstrate that Pt cluster with surface Pt−O−Bi structure is the active site for CO oxidation via providing moderate CO adsorption and activating CO molecules with electron transformation between platinum atom and carbon monoxide. These findings provide a unique and general approach towards design of potential excellent performance catalysts for redox reaction., The technological development requires the future advanced combustion engines be designed to operate at low temperature. High-Curie-temperature (Tc) ferroelectrics have exhibited broad applications in optoelectronic devices. Recently, two-dimensional multilayered perovskite ferroelectrics with excellent photoelectric attributes are attracting increasing interest as new systems of photoferroelectrics. However, the effective tuning of the Tc value of a multilayered perovskite photoferroelectric system still remains a huge challenge. Here, by a halogen substitution strategy to introduce bromine atoms on n-propylamine cations, the hybrid perovskite photoferroelectric (3-bromopropylaminium)2(formamidinium)Pb2Br7 (BFPB) with a high Tc value (348.5 K) was obtained. It is notable that BFPB adopts a two-dimensional bilayered inorganic framework, with tight linking to the organic cation by C-Br···Br-Pb halogen···halogen interactions and N-H···Br hydrogen bonds. Intriguingly, in comparison with the prototypical compound (n-propylaminium)2(formamidinium)Pb2Br7, a remarkable augmentation of 85.2 K in the resulting Tc value of BFPB is clearly observed, which further broadens the temperature range of its application. In combination with the remarkable ferroelectric and semiconducting attributes, the reversible bulk photovoltaic effect was realized in single crystals of BFPB. This finding can not only enhance the hybrid perovskite ferroelectric family but also further promote the photoelectric application of ferroelectrics.

Polyaniline (PANI) is a promising cathode material for Zn-ion batteries (ZIBs) due to its intrinsic conductivity and redox activity; however, the achievements of PANI in high-performance ZIBs are largely hindered by its instability during the repeated charge/discharge. Taking advantage of the high conductivity, flexibility, and grafting ability together, a surface-engineered Ti3C2Tx MXene is designed as a silver bullet to fight against the deprotonation and swelling/shrinking issues occurring in the redox process of PANI, which are the origins of its instability. Specifically, the sulfonic-group-grafted Ti3C2Tx(S-Ti3C2Tx) continuously provides protons to improve the protonation degree of PANI and maintains the polymer backbone at a locally low pH, which effectively inhibits deprotonation and brings high redox activity along with good reversibility. Meanwhile, the conductive and flexible natures of S-Ti3C2Tx assist the fast redox reaction of PANI and concurrently buffer its corresponding swelling/shrinking. Therefore, the S-Ti3C2Tx-enhanced PANI cathode simultaneously achieves a high discharge capacity of 262 mAh g-1 at 0.5 A g-1, a superior rate capability of 160 mAh g-1 at 15 A g-1, and a good cyclability over 5000 cycles with 100% coulombic efficiency. This work enlightens the development of versatile MXene via surface engineering for advanced batteries.

Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is crucial for hydrogen production as well as other energy storage technologies. CoFe-layered double hydroxide (CoFe-OH) has been widely considered as one of the most efficient electrocatalysts for OER in basic aqueous solution. However, it still suffers from low activity in neutral electrolyte. This paper describes partially oxidized CoFe-OH (PO-CoFe-OH) with enhanced covalency of M-O bonds and displays enhanced OER performance under mild condition. Mechanism studies reveal the suitably enhanced M-O covalency in PO-CoFe-OH shifts the OER mechanism to lattice oxygen oxidation mechanism and also promotes the rate-limiting deprotonation, providing superior OER performance. It just requires the overpotentials of 186 and 365 mV to drive the current density densities of 1 and 10 mA·cm−2 in 0.1 M KHCO3 aqueous solution (pH = 8.3), respectively. It provides a new process for rational design of efficient catalysts for water oxidation in mild conditions.

Wnt/β‐catenin signaling is indispensable for many biological processes, including embryonic development, cell cycle, inflammation, and carcinogenesis. Aberrant activation of the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling can promote tumorigenicity and enhance metastatic potential in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Targeting this pathway is a new opportunity for precise medicine for HCC. However, inhibiting Wnt/β‐catenin signaling alone is unlikely to significantly improve HCC patient outcome due to the lack of specific inhibitors and the complexity of this pathway. Combination with other therapies will be an important next step in improving the efficacy of Wnt/β‐catenin signaling inhibitors. Protein kinases play a key and evolutionarily conserved role in the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling and have become one of the most important drug targets in cancer. Targeting Wnt/β‐catenin signaling and its regulatory kinase together will be a promising HCC management strategy. In this review, we summarize the kinases that modulate the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling in HCC and briefly discuss their molecular mechanisms. Through a functional unit-transmutation strategy, a fatigue-free layered hybrid perovskite ferroelectric (C6H5CH2NH3)(2)CsPb2Br7 (BCPB) has been developed, which demonstrates stable spontaneous polarization (P-s) of 6.5 mu C cm(-2) and high Curie temperature up to 425 K. Meanwhile, BCPB shows splendid bulk photovoltaic effect (BPVE) properties with noticeable zero-bias photocurrent density (5 mu A cm(-2)), and high on/off switching ratio of current (over 3x10(5)); these merits even overmatch the most known ferroelectric semiconductor BiFeO3. The unique structure with self-regulated net electrical charged layers gives rise to the fatigue-free feature of P-s and BPVE (no significant fatigue after 10(8) polarity switching cycles), promoting the potential applications of BCPB in photovoltaic non-volatile memories. This work offers an efficient approach for exploring fatigue-free semiconducting ferroelectrics as well as excavates their further applications in next-generation electronic devices.

Background Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the most common pathology subtype of lung cancer. In recent years, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and chemotherapeutics conferred a certain curative effects. However, the effect and prognosis of LUAD patients are different, and the efficacy of existing LUAD risk prediction models is unsatisfactory. Methods The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) LUAD dataset was downloaded. The differentially expressed immune genes (DEIGs) were analyzed with edgeR and DESeq2. The prognostic DEIGs were identified by COX regression. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was inferred by STRING using prognostic DEIGs with p value Results In total,1654 DEIGs were identified, of which 436 genes were prognostic. Gene functional enrichment analysis indicated that the DEIGs were involved in inflammatory pathways. We constructed 4 models using DEIGs. Finally, model 4, which was constructed using the 436 DEIGs performed the best in prognostic predictions, the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) was 0.824 for 3 years, 0.838 for 5 years, 0.834 for 10 years. High levels of FERMT2, FKBP3 and low levels of SMAD9, GATA2, ITIH4 expression are related to the poor overall survival in LUAD (p Conclusions In our study, we built an optimal prognostic signature for LUAD using DEIGs and verified the expression of selected genes in LUAD. Objective: Ki-67 Label Index (Ki-67LI) is a breast cancer(BC) predictive and prognostic factor. The lack of standardization and reproducibility of evaluation methods limits its use in routine work. In this study, Ki-67 standard comparison card (SRC) and artificial intelligence(AI) software were used to evaluate breast cancer Ki-67LI. We established training and validation sets and studied the repeatability between observers. Methods: A total of 300 invasive breast cancer specimens were randomly divided into training and verification sets, with each set including 150 cases. Breast cancer Ki-67 standard comparison cards ranging from 5% to 90% were created. The training set was interpreted by nine pathologists of different ages through microscopic visual assessment (VA), SRC, microscopic manual counting (MC), and AI. The validation set was interpreted by three randomly selected pathologists using SRC and AI. Friedman M was used to analyze the difference. The intra-group correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland-Altman scatter plot were used for consistency analysis.
