Abstract

Incorporating transition metal ions into uranyl phosphonate frameworks can bring not only new structure types but also interesting physical or chemical properties. Herein we report two heterometallic uranyl carboxyphenylphosphonates, namely, [Cu2(UO2)3(2-pmbH)2(2-pmb)2(H2O)4]·2H2O (1) and [Mn3(UO2)6(2-pmb)6(H2O)8]·10H2O (2) [2-pmbH3 = 2-(phosphonomethyl)benzoic acid]. Compound 1 shows a two-dimensional layered structure in which uranyl-PO3 chains are linked by {Cu2O2} dimers. Within the uranyl-PO3 chain, {UO6} tetragonal bipyramids and edge-sharing dimers of {UO7} pentagonal bipyramids are connected by edge-sharing {PO3C} tetrahedra. Compound 2 possesses a unique 3D open framework structure, where the Mn-layers are pillared by uranyl-PO3 chains. The uranyl-PO3 chain in 2 is very different from that in 1, which contains trimers of edge-sharing {UO7} and {UO8} polyhedra and {PO3C} linkages. While the Mn-layer consists of chains of {MnO6} octahedra bridged alternatively by carboxylate and phosphonate groups, which are inter-connected by organic moieties of 2-pmb3-. The thermally activated sample of 2 displays strong adsorption capability toward NH3. Magnetic studies revealed dominant antiferromagnetic interactions between the metal centers in both compounds.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the prognosis of permanent teeth with external root resorption (ERR) caused by adjacent impacted teeth.A total of 75 ERR teeth (permanent teeth) caused by adjacent impacted teeth of 63 patients were included. The prognosis of ERR teeth was analyzed followed by minimally invasive extraction of the adjacent impacted teeth. The time of follow-up was six months. The relationship between prognosis of ERR teeth and patients' age, gender, root number, type of root resorption and degree of root resorption were analyzed.In the 75 ERR teeth, 67 teeth (89.3%) did not show pulpitis symptoms. The clinical outcome was found to be related with age (r=0.330, P0.05), whereas no relationships with gender, root number, as well as type and degree of root resorption were observed (P0.05). Pulpitis symptom was not found in ERR teeth of patients under 30 years old.For ERR teeth caused by adjacent impacted teeth, keeping the pulp vital after surgical removal of impacted teeth is highly probable. Post-operative follow-up instead of preventive root canal therapy of ERR teeth is recommended.目的 探讨埋伏阻生牙导致邻牙（恒牙）牙根外吸收（ERR）时，阻生牙拔除术后邻牙的预后。方法 以埋伏阻生牙导致邻牙（恒牙）ERR但可以正常行使功能的63例患者的75颗ERR邻牙作为研究对象，微创拔除埋伏阻生牙后，术后随访6月，观察ERR邻牙的预后情况，并分析预后与患者年龄、性别、牙根数量、牙根吸收类型、牙根吸收程度的关系。结果 在75颗ERR邻牙中，67颗（89.3%）为无症状活髓牙。ERR邻牙的预后与患者的年龄相关（r=0.330，P0.05），年龄低于30岁者ERR邻牙均保持了无症状活髓。ERR邻牙的预后与性别、牙根数量、牙根吸收类型、牙根吸收程度无相关性（P0.05）。结论 对于因相邻埋伏阻生牙导致的牙根外吸收而无临床症状的恒牙，有较大概率在阻生牙拔除术后保存活髓，建议密切随访观察，不必行预防性根管治疗。.

However, the roles of DUXAP10 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tumorigenesis and progression remain uncharacterized.Methods: Comprehensive analyses were performed to investigate DUXAP10 expression patterns, potential biologic functions, and clinical significance in HCC based on the data downloaded from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases. DUXAP10 expression levels in HCC tissue sections and cells were verified using quantitative real-time PCR analysis. DUXAP10-siRNA was used to silence DUXAP10 in the Hep3B cell line to determine the roles of DUXAP10 in HCC cell proliferation.Results: DUXAP10 was significantly overexpressed in HCC, and DUXAP10 upregulation was closely associated with poor prognoses in HCC patients. DUXAP10 knockdown decreased cell proliferation and arrested HCC cells in the G1 phase of the cell cycle. Western blot analysis showed that DUXAP10 knockdown decreased p-AKT expression in HCC cells.Conclusion: Our study demonstrates that pseudogene DUXAP10 promotes HCC cell proliferation by activating PI3K/AKT pathway and could act as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for HCC patients.Keywords: DUXAP10, HCC, biomarker

The aim of this study was to identify potential prognostic genes and construct a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) regulatory network to explore the mechanisms underlying the development of HCC. Methods: Integrated analysis was used to identify potential prognostic genes in HCC with R software based on the GSE14520, GSE17548, GSE19665, GSE29721, GSE60502, and the Cancer Genome Atlas databases. Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway-enrichment analyses were performed to explore the molecular mechanisms of potential prognostic genes. Differentially expressed miRNAs (DEMs) and lncRNAs (DELs) were screened based on the Cancer Genome Atlas database. An lncRNA–miRNA–mRNA ceRNA regulatory network was constructed based on information about interactions derived from the miRcode, TargetScan, miRTarBase, and miRDB databases. Results: A total of 152 potential prognostic genes were screened that were differentially expressed in HCC tissue and significantly associated with overall survival of HCC patients. There were 13 key potential prognostic genes in the ceRNA regulatory network: eleven upregulated genes (CCNB1, CEP55, CHEK1, EZH2, KPNA2, LRRC1, PBK, RRM2, SLC7A11, SUCO, and ZWINT) and two downregulated genes (ACSL1 and CDC37L1) whose expression might be regulated by eight DEMs and 61 DELs. Abstract

The design of high-speed sampling rate converter in multi-rate system is a very complicated problem. The traditional development flow is not simply low efficiency, and but also is difficult to implementation. This paper presents a development flow by modelbased design to simplify the design process, to improve work efficiency. Sampling rate converter is designed by a hybrid scheme using polyphase filter and Farrow filter structure. Through the development flow of model-based design, circuit modeling is very easy to do, and the RTL code and test code are automatically generated. The simulation results show that this method can greatly reduce the system consumption and promote the performance of the system.

Abstract

This paper proposes an efficient implementation of digital up and down conversion for Software Defined Radio (SDR) using Model-Based Design (MBD). In particular, a novel flow for designing digital up and down conversion is detailed. Using MBD, a system model is at the center of the development process, from requirement development, through design, implementation, and testing. Using MBD, code can be automatically generated for system and create test benches for system verification, which is saving time and avoiding the introduction of manually coded errors. Design example shows that the proposed method can greatly reduce the complexity of digital up and down conversion while providing the efficient and reliability of design flow.

Abstract

Controllable synthesis of uniformly distributed nanowires of coordination polymers with inherent physical functions is highly desirable but challenging. In particular, the combination of chirality and magnetism into nanowires has potential applications in multifunctional materials and spintronic devices. Herein, we report four pairs of enantiopure coordination polymers with formulae S‐, R‐Dy(cyampH)3 ⋅ CH3COOH ⋅ 2H2O (S‐1, R‐1), S‐, R‐Dy(cyampH)3 ⋅ 3H2O (S‐2, R‐2), S‐, R‐Dy(cyampH)2(C2H5COO) ⋅ 3H2O (S‐3, R‐3) and S‐, R‐Dy(cyampH)3 ⋅ 0.5C2H5COOH ⋅ 2H2O (S‐4, R‐4) [cyampH2=S‐, R‐(1‐cyclohexylethyl)aminomethylphosphonic acids], which were obtained depending on the pH of the reaction mixtures and the specific carboxylic acid used as pH regulator. Interestingly, compounds 3 were obtained as superlong nanowires, showing 1D neutral chain structure which contains both phosphonate and propionate anion ligands. While compounds 1, 2 and 4 appeared as block‐like crystals, superhelices and nanorods, respectively, and exhibited similar neutral chain structures containing only phosphonate ligand. Slow magnetization relaxation characteristic of single‐molecule magnet (SMM) behavior was observed for compounds S‐1 and S‐3. Abstract

Building energy consumption in the Asia-Pacific region continues to rise. It is important to understand the energy use and future trends of 21 members of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and to find more effective ways to achieve APEC’s dual goals of reducing energy intensity by 45% of 2005 levels by 2035 and doubling the share of renewable energy in the energy mix between 2010 and 2030. Recently, promoting building toward ultra-low energy, nearly zero energy and zero energy is becoming a consensus trend. This paper aims to explore how zero energy building promotion could influence the total energy demand in the mid to long term. An EUPP (Economic, Urbanization, Population and Purchasing power parity) model was established to show the relationship between building energy consumption and its influencing factors, and the potential development path of building energy consumption in APEC was predicted by using the model. The results show that in the Business As Usual (BAU) model, building energy demand will increase from 1387.4 Mtoe in 2016 to 2456.8 Mtoe in 2050 while in the CAP model, building energy demand will be constrained to under 2000 Mtoe before 2050. In the ZEB promotion model, 897.8 to 1945.3 Mtoe could be saved separately. The share of end demand supplied by onsite renewable energy production could reach 11%–54%. The building sector has the potential to become the largest contributor to achieve the APEC energy goal and thus to the climate change goal., Highlights • A long-term building energy intensity prediction model is established. • Building demand in APEC region will reach 2456.8 Mtoe in 2050 in BAU Model. • 897.8 to 1945.3 Mtoe could be saved separately under various ZEB scenarios. • Energy consumption decreases only if more than 40% of buildings are nearly Zero.

Abstract

The new construction of the wading project at the confluence section, where the flow condition is rather complex, has definitely to take more influencing factors in consideration. In order to investigate quantitatively the effect of secondary flows on the transport of flow and sediment in a sharply curved channel, the landscape project at the Yibin reach was taken as an example, and the 2D Mathematical Model was used to simulate the distributions of flow factors. As the predicted project is located at the confluence of the Three Rivers, the left banks of the Minjiang River and the Yangtze River, the complexity of the inflow and outflow conditions was considered during the study, and different research schemes were compared. Result of this research can be valuable reference for similar projects.

Abstract

Today, there is an increased research effort on improving energy efficiency in heritage buildings through retrofit measures. Hygrothermal simulations tools are often used to assess the long-term performance of building envelopes and determine whether they are suitable for interior insulation. To reduce the high computation time and cost incurred with these simulations, a moisture reference year (MRY) is typically selected based on long-term annual climatic conditions. Simulation results obtained under MRYs are assumed to represent the long-term performance. However, when assessing the risk to freeze-thaw (FT) damage of historic masonry walls, methods selecting climate-based MRYs have failed to represent the actual performance – determined based on results from simulations over the 31 consecutive years. This paper attempts to find an alternative method to select MRYs, based on the hygrothermal simulations of specific constructions. First, a parametric analysis was proposed to identify the parameters that have the greatest influence on FT damage. Then, simulations are performed for a continuous 31-year period and for each single year. A comparison of their results suggests that there is no accumulative effect on the annual freeze-thaw cycles; and therefore, MRYs can be selected as the single year with the 93rd percentile FT damage severity or the worst year commonly found between masonry walls pre and post retrofit. The application of MRYs was then verified for different insulation types and thicknesses. Results showed that simulation-based MRYs are construction and orientation dependent; however, they are reliable to use for retrofitting design decision making. • Simulation-based approach developed for moisture reference year specific to freeze-thaw damage. • Single-year simulation can be used to select MRY for assessing long-term freeze-thaw damage risk. • Simulation-based MRY verified for various internally insulated historic masonry walls.
