Desde su fundación en 1896 la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (FFyL-UBA) asumió la tarea y el compromiso de publicar libros y fue construyendo un catálogo de cerca de 1500 títulos en toda su trayectoria. El artículo presenta un análisis de la producción editorial monográfica desde tres perspectivas: la creación intelectual, la materialidad y la difusión-circulación, cada una de las cuales agrupa diferentes variables de estudio. Se usaron métodos cuantitativos e interpretativos que permitieron, con datos concretos, aproximar una respuesta a los supuestos surgidos de una mirada general de la problemática. Se analizaron dos décadas, una del siglo pasado (1990) y otra del siglo XXI (2010). Se concluye que, sin bien los cambios de la producción editorial de la FFyL-UBA entre las dos décadas tienen variaciones tanto significativas como menores en las tres perspectivas analizadas, permiten identificar algunas tendencias y conductas consolidadas en la organización de sus publicaciones. Se identificó un incremento de la producción de una década a otra. Se observó una disminución en la monoautoría, forma predominante de escritura en la década de 1990 y se incrementó el número de autores en colaboración en la década de 2010. Se visualizan todas las disciplinas al momento de conformar el catálogo editor de la Facultad, aunque algunas con más fortaleza que otras. En las dos décadas se vislumbra el uso de títulos más convocantes y atractivos, así como también el de subtítulos para orientar sobre el tema. Las series y colecciones tanto generales como especializadas en ambas décadas mostraron ser una práctica editorial consolidada al publicarse el 80% de la producción dentro del diseño de una de ellas. El soporte preferido continúa siendo el impreso y en la última década se aprecia una clara tendencia a normalizar el sello editorial en el pie de imprenta y una presentación gráfica más atractiva. Se verificó una considerable difusión y circulación de las obras y se observaron distintas estrategias para divulgar y hacer más conocido lo publicado. = Since its foundation in 1896, the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (FFyL-UBA) has committed to publishing books, having built a catalog of nearly 1500 titles throughout its history. The article presents an analysis of this books editorial production from three perspectives: intellectual creation, materiality, and dissemination-circulation, each of which contains different study variables. We used quantitative and interpretative methods and the concrete data allowed us to attempt an answer to the assumptions arising from a general view of the problem. Two decades were analyzed, one from the last century (1990) and another from the 21st century (2010). We concluded that, although the changes in the editorial production of the FFyL-UBA in the two decades have both significant and minor variations in the three perspectives analyzed, they have allowed us to identify some trends and constant behaviors in the organization of its publications. An increase in production from one decade to another was identified. We observed a decrease in mono-authorship, the predominant form of writing in the 1990s, while the number of collaborating authors increased in the 2010s. All Faculty’s disciplines are present on its editorial catalog, although some carry more weight than others. In the two decades the use of more compelling and attractive titles as well as subtitles to guide on the subject is evident. The general and specialized collections in both decades proved to be a consolidated publishing practice as 80% of the production was published within one of them. The preferred medium continues to be the print and in the last decade there has been a clear tendency to standardize the publishing house stamp in the imprint and to give a more attractive graphic presentation. There was a considerable dissemination and circulation of the works while different strategies to disseminate publications were observed.

Differences in the content of sexual fantasies across gender have been widely documented, while less attention was given to the role of sexual orientation. Previous studies focused on differences in the prevalence of broad themes consisting of sets of contents. The current study aimed to increase the knowledge about sexual fantasies in heterosexual, homosexual, and bisexual men and women. A descriptive approach that allows visualizing the patterns of fantasies reported by different groups using Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) is presented. A sample of 3136 of young adults, 1754 women (Mage = 22.50, SD = 1.72, range 18–25) and 1382 men (Mage = 22.50, SD = 1.70, range 18–25), completed an online questionnaire assessing the presence of 29 different sexual fantasies. The prevalence of each fantasy among each group is shown. Also, relationships between fantasies and the distribution of groups along the two principal dimensions highlighted by MCA are represented. Heterosexuals women reported fewer fantasies and showed opposite patterns of response compared to heterosexual men. There was a substantial overlapping in the fantasies reported by gay and bisexual men, while responses of lesbian and bisexual women were more differentiated. These results indicate that the content of sexual fantasies varies according to both gender and sexual orientation.

Quantifying the volume of the cerebellum and its lobes is of profound interest in various neurodegenerative and acquired diseases. Especially for the most common spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA), for which the first antisense oligonculeotide-base gene silencing trial has recently started, there is an urgent need for quantitative, sensitive imaging markers at pre-symptomatic stages for stratification and treatment assessment. This work introduces CerebNet, a fully automated, extensively validated, deep learning method for the lobular segmentation of the cerebellum, including the separation of gray and white matter. For training, validation, and testing, T1-weighted images from 30 participants were manually annotated into cerebellar lobules and vermal sub-segments, as well as cerebellar white matter. CerebNet combines FastSurferCNN, a UNet-based 2.5D segmentation network, with extensive data augmentation, e.g. realistic non-linear deformations to increase the anatomical variety, eliminating additional preprocessing steps, such as spatial normalization or bias field correction. CerebNet demonstrates a high accuracy (on average 0.87 Dice and 1.742mm Robust Hausdorff Distance across all structures) outperforming state-of-the-art approaches. Furthermore, it shows high test-retest reliability (average ICC >0.97 on OASIS and Kirby) as well as high sensitivity to disease effects, including the pre-ataxic stage of spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3). CerebNet is compatible with FreeSurfer and FastSurfer and can analyze a 3D volume within seconds on a consumer GPU in an end-to-end fashion, thus providing an efficient and validated solution for assessing cerebellum sub-structure volumes. We make CerebNet available as source-code (https://github.com/Deep-MI/FastSurfer).

The nutritional benefits and functional potential of chia seeds have been highlighted in the literature. However, few studies address the planting system of the species, especially its spatial arrangement. Thus, this study proposes to evaluate chia cultivation under different spatial arrangements, aiming at its agronomic performance. The experimental design was randomized in blocks in a 3×2 factorial scheme, with three inter-row spacings (0.30, 0.45, and 0.60 m), two plant densities per linear meter (7.5 and 15 plants m−1), and four replications. Plant height, stem diameter, leaf area index, dry matter, chlorophyll index, leaf nitrogen content, panicle size, harvest index, and yield were evaluated. The evaluated spatial arrangements did not influence plant height, stem diameter, dry matter, leaf nitrogen content, panicle size, and harvest index. However, the spatial arrangement with the narrowest spacing and the highest population density was more suitable for obtaining a higher leaf area index and yield, with values of 5.96 and 2,507.44 kg ha−1, respectively. Therefore, a higher leaf area index and chia seed yield are obtained with an inter-row of 0.30 m and a population density of 15 plants m−1, that is, 500 thousand plants ha−1.

We present a comprehensive review of keV-scale sterile neutrino Dark Matter, collecting views and insights from all disciplines involved - cosmology, astrophysics, nuclear, and particle physics - in each case viewed from both theoretical and experimental/observational perspectives. After reviewing the role of active neutrinos in particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology, we focus on sterile neutrinos in the context of the Dark Matter puzzle. Here, we first review the physics motivation for sterile neutrino Dark Matter, based on challenges and tensions in purely cold Dark Matter scenarios. We then round out the discussion by critically summarizing all known constraints on sterile neutrino Dark Matter arising from astrophysical observations, laboratory experiments, and theoretical considerations. In this context, we provide a balanced discourse on the possibly positive signal from X-ray observations. Another focus of the paper concerns the construction of particle physics models, aiming to explain how sterile neutrinos of keV-scale masses could arise in concrete settings beyond the Standard Model of elementary particle physics. The paper ends with an extensive review of current and future astrophysical and laboratory searches, highlighting new ideas and their experimental challenges, as well as future perspectives for the discovery of sterile neutrinos.

BackgroundThe adoption and use of technology have significantly changed health care delivery. Patient experience has become a significant factor in the entire spectrum of patient-centered health care delivery. Digital health facilitates further improvement and empowerment of patient experiences. Therefore, the design of digital health is served by insights into the barriers to and facilitators of digital patient experience (PEx). ObjectiveThis study aimed to systematically review the influencing factors and design considerations of PEx in digital health from the literature and generate design guidelines for further improvement of PEx in digital health. MethodsWe performed an umbrella systematic review following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) methodology. We searched Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science databases. Two rounds of small random sampling (20%) were independently reviewed by 2 reviewers who evaluated the eligibility of the articles against the selection criteria. Two-round interrater reliability was assessed using the Fleiss-Cohen coefficient (k1=0.88 and k2=0.80). Thematic analysis was applied to analyze the extracted data based on a small set of a priori categories. ResultsThe search yielded 173 records, of which 45 (26%) were selected for data analysis. Findings and conclusions showed a great diversity; most studies presented a set of themes (19/45, 42%) or descriptive information only (16/45, 36%). The digital PEx–related influencing factors were classified into 9 categories: patient capability, patient opportunity, patient motivation, intervention technology, intervention functionality, intervention interaction design, organizational environment, physical environment, and social environment. These can have three types of impacts: positive, negative, or double edged. We captured 4 design constructs (personalization, information, navigation, and visualization) and 3 design methods (human-centered or user-centered design, co-design or participatory design, and inclusive design) as design considerations. ConclusionsWe propose the following definition for digital PEx: “Digital patient experience is the sum of all interactions affected by a patient’s behavioral determinants, framed by digital technologies, and shaped by organizational culture, that influence patient perceptions across the continuum of care channeling digital health.” In this study, we constructed a design and evaluation framework that contains 4 phases—define design, define evaluation, design ideation, and design evaluation—and 9 design guidelines to help digital health designers and developers address digital PEx throughout the entire design process. Finally, our review suggests 6 directions for future digital PEx–related research.
