Abstract

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is one of the innovative manufacturing paradigms which allow a company's product content to be developed and integrated with all company business process through the extended enterprise. The core part of the PLM successful process is the management, collaboration and exchange of all the product information. In this paper we analyze the state of the art about the integration of product meta-data models, standardized engineering and business processes, Service Oriented Architecture and Decision Support System specifications in PLM. Moreover, we expand the field of application of the PLM on the service contexts, particularly looking at the logistic services. More precisely, we study the possibility of exploiting the PLM characteristics for the huge data management of the Decision Support System specification applied to the Intermodal Transportation Networks. Moreover, in order to evaluate the implementation success or failure of PLM in the Intermodal Transportation Networks context, a procedure for the successive PLM assessment and verification is outlined.

Abstract

International audience; The occurrence of failure in Flexible Manufacturing System can deeply modify its performances and its availability. In this context, the monitoring of FMS becomes an important issue, improving production time and minimizing unplanned costly breakdowns. We propose to develop an indirect monitoring by the analysis of product flows at the output of an FMS subjected to a 1-cyclic control. In order to determine the operating system failure that causes the decrease of process performance and the delay observed at the output of a system part, we propose a resolution mechanism based on fault tree analysis.

Abstract

International audience; In this paper, we propose to use a constraint programming approach to address the reachability problem in Timed Petri Nets (TPNs). TPNs can be used to model a wide class of systems, from manufacturing issues to formal verification of embedded systems. Many of the considered problems can be modeled as reachability problems in TPNs. To reduce the space state explosion brought by the exploration of the TPN behavior, we propose to follow the incremental methodology proposed by Bourdeaud'huy and Hanafi (2006), who translate the reachability graph of Timed PNs into a mathematical model. We improve this model by adding valid inequalities and search for solutions using Constraint Programming (CP). More particularly, we compare different labeling strategies and assess their respective efficiency.

Abstract

Worldwide competition originated the development of integrated supply chains (SCs) that are distributed manufacturing systems integrating international logistics and information technologies with production. This paper develops a decision-making model based on discrete consensus in order to assign tasks to each actor of the SC at the operational level. In particular, some actors of the SC generate tasks that other actors, localized in a downstream stage, have to complete. We provide a novel distributed algorithm that aims to minimize the task costs assuming that each actor can perform a subset of the available tasks and can communicate with a subset of actors. In order to show the effectiveness of the distributed algorithm, a case study is considered. The problem is formalized as a distributed consensus algorithm, i.e., as a procedure using which the agents of the SC can exchange messages and update autonomously and iteratively their assigned tasks. Some results prove that the convergence to a task assignment consensus is reached in finite time and a stopping criterion is provided.

International audience; This paper presents a control synthesis approach for discrete event systems modelled by partially observable marked graphs. It solves the forbidden state problem for discrete event systems modelled by partially observable event graphs subject to Marking Exclusion Constraints (MEC). Two kind of MEC specifications are considered: MEC-AND or MEC-OR. The main advantage of MEC specifications is an increased modelling power regarding to General Mutual Exclusion Constraints GMEC. We provide a simple optimal controller to enforce MEC specifications with independent critical places. We also propose a suboptimal controller for MEC-OR with dependent critical places belonging to the same direct path.

Abstract

International audience; This paper deals with the problem of deadlock avoidance in control synthesis for a discrete event systems modeled by marked graphs. The specifications are modeled by General Mutual Exclusion Constraints. We show that, even that the system to be controlled is live, the restriction introduced by the controller may generate deadlocks. Therefore, the research work we present in this paper focuses on enhancing an existing control synthesis technique in order to provide a deadlock free maximal permissive control law.
