This bachelor thesis deals with the life of Saint Sigismund and his cult in the context of the middle ages culture. Focus will be laid on the legend about the king of Burgundy, St Sigismund, whom Charles IV elevated to the rank of the Bohemian Patrons. His cult will be analyzed in medieval Bohemia and partly in other countries in medieval Europe. Through the interpretation of selected examples of works of art from the medieval period, we will demonstrate St Sigismund's importance and position among the others Saints of Bohemia.

This diploma thesis presents an attempt on a multi-disciplinary approach to the oldest period of Czech-Bavarian relations no from the point of view of political history but cultural history. The aim of the work excludes the analysis of all problems because material sources, unlike written sources which are available in primary issues, have still added up and which have not been mapped basically, or evaluated, so far. The text has a disposition of several research probes to written sources that are evaluated by existing subjective approaches; I make an analysis of their possibilities and limits. In the introductory chapter, I focus on the chronological problem limitation and the problems of the ethnic interpretation. The next part contains of an overview of Czech-Bavarian contacts from the point of view of political history and specific hypotheses. The second chapter is dedicated to the problems of the Slavonic settlement of Northeastern Bavaria which has marginalized by Czech research workers so far. In the third chapter, which is focused on chronological relations among early medieval burying grounds in Bohemia and in Northeastern Bavaria, I deal with local differences in dating of S-shaped rings and imply some solutions of this problem. The stabilization of the Bezděz Castle royal palace´s interiors (Bezděz cadastral, Česká Lípa district) enabled to capture and evaluate various construction details of the palace and its contact with the chapel. Acquired information offers a new model of architectural development since its foundation to structural intervention at the time of its transformation into the Benedictine monastery during the Baroque Period.

Przedmiotem analizy przedstawionej w artykule jest akomodacja wartości kategorii rodzaju w zdaniach z podmiotem szeregowym o składnikach w liczbie pojedynczej w języku serbskim. Szczegółowo omówione są cztery problematyczne właściwości akomodacji wartości rodzaju przez podmiot szeregowy ze spójnikiem współrzędnym. Przedstawione są argumenty popierające tezę, że wartość rodzaju męskiego jest wartością nieuzgodnioną (domyślną) imiesłowów oraz przymiotników predykatywnych wtedy, gdy składniki podmiotu szeregowego różnią się pod względem informacji o rodzaju, co wbrew oczekiwaniom może występować zarówno wtedy, gdy składniki podmiotu szeregowego mają tę samą wartość gramatycznej kategorii rodzaju, jak i wtedy, gdy jeden ze składników podmiotu szeregowego nie posiada określonej wartości cechy rodzaju. Na podstawie analizy dystrybucji rodzaju nijakiego postuluje się, że cecha rodzaju w języku serbskim (oraz przypuszczalnie w innych językach słowiańskich) jest cechą kompleksową o wartościach binarnych [±masculinum] oraz [±femininum]. This paper examines gender agreement with coordinate structures in Serbian, focusing exclusively on coordinate phrases with singular conjuncts. I discuss in detail four unexpected and challenging facts about coordinate structure gender agreement and provide a unified account of them. I argue that a participle or predicative adjective agreeing with a coordinate phrase takes the default masculine form either when the coordinate phrase contains conflicting gender information, which can sometimes surprisingly happen even when all conjuncts have identical gender specifications, or when at least one of the conjuncts is not marked for a gender value. On the bases of behavior of neuter, I also propose that gender in Serbian (and possibly other Slavic languages) should be represented in terms of binary features [±masculine] and [±feminine].

This bachelor's thesis answers the question, if monastery, which is located on territory of municipalities, affects somehow religiosity of inhabitants. First chapter (Introduction) defines object and hypotheses of thesis. Second chapter is given to processing methods of thesis. Third chapter contains the most important literature used in thesis, also definition of concepts and theoretic outline of the problem. Fourth chapter describes evolution of religion and changes in religiosity in Bohemia. Fifth chapter works with statistics and looks for possible influence in chosen municipalities. Sixth chapter summarizes all the knowledge and proves or disproves set hypotheses. Last chapter finishes the thesis. Thesis also contains statistical table, graphs and maps.

The author of the thesis wants to examine the applicability of the concept of galant style as presented by Robert Gjerdingen in his treatise Music in the Galant Style (2007). As a musical material which he wants to analyze by using the mentioned concept he chooses three extant sepolcros by a schoolmaster from Bakov nad Jizerou Jiří Ignác Linek (1725-1791). Further, he deals with a thesis by Eva Tomandlová (1934- 2010) written in the late 1950's that had these sepolcros as its subject. Thus, at presenting Gjerdingen's approach and its specific possibilities, the author can make use of comparison with a method which can be considered an exemplar of the prevailing analytical tradition. This master thesis deals with the guild book of furriers from Žatec, which originated from the period between 1474-1816. Its main objective is to create an edition of this book and make it available for further research. This thesis can be divided into two parts: introductory chapters and the actual edition of the book. In the first part are briefly introduced Prague furriers guilds, whose development are linked with guild from Žatec, further outlined is the history of the furrier's guild from Žatec. This chapter is largely based on the edited book and focuses primarily on the guild in the 16th and 17th century. It analyses the organization and most important regulation of the furriers. The next two chapters deal with the book itself. They analyse both the external and internal characteristics. Emphasis is placed on the description of the book and study of its internal structure. Editorial note summarizes the rules under which the edition was created. The second and larger part contains the edition itself. This thesis focuses on the gifts of Czech and Moravian nobility to the church during the High Middle Ages. The pious gifts (Donations) are fundamental for the understanding of medieval devotion and for some aspects of medieval society. In the Middle Ages, the last wills and testaments expressed people's wishes, attitudes and intentions with respect both to these worldly and other matters. They express attitudes to other family members, to property, to life and death, to community and social groups, to the Church, to Saints and to God. The pious donations, support for the poor and the burial near Saints open up the gates to Heaven. But the pious donations are not only a part of one's care for the soul and redemption in the Middle Ages. The donations have complicated background. These gifts expressed religious, economic, political and representative intentions of the donors. The Pious gifts are a good tool for research of this part of society. Iconography of the Last Judgement in Bohemian Romanesque art This work is focused on Iconography of the Last Judgement in Bohemian Romanesque art. It's purpose is to chart drawings with this motive in Bohemian illuminations and mural painting of Romanesque epoch. It's goal is to compile and chronologically classified this works into progression of Bohemian art and also into progression of European art. To find analogy and foreign influences. This works compares specimen of this motif and how was the motif changed during progression of Bohemian Romanesque art.

Diploma thesis has an aim to present to students of elementary school graphical methods of relief printing by method of methodological video, for better understanding and imagination of students. The theoretical part occupies with graphic, the fenomena, that accompanies us from prehistoric times. The thesis is going to present method of relief printing, its development and important authors of relief printing. It makes the students familiar with the most important graphic works in history and makes their analysis. It presents the most common subjects and social aspects of graphical production in the final part. The practical part elaborates technology of instructive video and following application for students of various age and its final marking their work. The conclusion of thesis create supplements of the practical part, examples of models and final works.

This master's thesis concerns the extant masses of Jan František Novák (died 1771), kapellmeister of the cathedral of St. Vitus in Prague from 1737-1758. These masses and their copies are critically examined and subsequently analyzed by focusing on particular types of arrangement as well as in summary. Aspects of musical practice and of the collection of notated music of the metropolitan chapter during Novak's era are also discussed in this thesis.

This paper focuses on the analysis of settlement of hill-top sites in the middle and late La Tene period on the territory of today's Bohemia. The subject of interest will not be oppida, about which much has already been written, but other hill-top sites of La Tene period, both fortified and unfortified, which are often perceived as a marginal phenomenon. This paper shows that it is a phenomenon more common than it might seem. Base of the paper is catalog of these sites that offers their list and description, as well as history of research and attempt on interpretation of the motivation for choosing these sometimes very remote and inaccessible locations and an attempt to set them up into settlement structure.

This bachelor's thesis deals with inscriptions on mural and board paintings in Czech Gothic art of the 14th century. The selection of the artworks that meet the set criteria was treated in a form of comparison from different point of views. As a result a set of three separate typological units has been created. Transcriptions and translations of all the inscriptions used in forming the typologies are a part of the work presented.

The polycultural settlement area in Libeznice (Prague-East district) represents a relatively large complex of many different settlement structures, mostly of Funnel Beaker culture and Hallstat period, as well as three Unetice culture tombs and a skeleton burial probably of La-Téne period. An archaeological excavation, which was caused by the construction of a ring road, took place in the years 2008 and 2009. During the works several dozens of settlement structures of Funnel Beaker culture were uncovered - a large open settlement with a number of long houses and other structures. This thesis follows my bachelor thesis, where a chosen group of sixteen structures is analysed. In this thesis a remaining group of nineteen settlement structures is dealt with and published and its ceramic artefacts and also chipped stone industry, polished stone industry and bone industry are analysed in detail. On the basis of its morphological features coincident with previous results was this settlement dated to the younger period of Funnel Beaker culture, i.e. to the salzmünde phase, followed by a small collection of ceramics of Boleráz phase (Baden culture). This bachelory thesis is research of theme about "Construction of European identity by European Union documents". Thesis focus with theory of constructivism on construction of European identity by European Union documents, according to studying of theme and literature research. The main aim of this thesis is to find answer on research question "How European Union constructs European identity by its documents?" Firstly, thesis defines the formalization of identity in relationship with existence of European Union and its functioning. Afterwards is ilustrativly described process of European integration, due to close connection with European documents. After that come defining of, and content analyses of selected documents of European Union and foregoing organisations. During content analysis were used indicators "principle/principles/values", "identity", "European identity". Finnal part is situated as wide consideration about new facts, which describe how European Union and foregoing organisations construct European identity, and about reflexion this new facts against the selected researches. Pursuant to this consideration is definitely answered research question.

Historical anthropology is a relatively young science discipline. On many projects in the framework of theoretical tasks so far. This work is a bunch of strangers to focus on inter-cultural comparison in the context of historical anthropology. This work will be conducted following the line of the official sources of the history. Rather than the actor himself, will be viewed for what could, in theory, the player or what was his academic freedom. By comparing the two locally so different areas, such as the Czech lands, and Beninese imperium, has a bunch of strangers try to show a comparison as possible in varying degree. The work aims to compare the rights and that mountain obligation the lowest classes of the two States. It has to happen, implanted in the reality of time known as the early modern period in Europe. The work will be based mainly on the strands of legal provenance. Work gives the objective comparison of these facts, without any claims to their binding evaluation.

Bone pins of the Early Bronze Age are interesting, not too frequent, and still properly unprocessed kind of artifact. Probably based on an older tradition, but they were soon replaced by the metal pins. The main objective is to develop as most detailed catalog of findings as is possible, tracking the finding context and chronological position of bone pins in the Early Bronze Age in Bohemia. The subject of the work is also a question of technology used in the production bone and antler industry and its evidence from the Bronze Age, focusing on the technology and processes used in the production of bone pins. Another factor which is monitored is the social status of bearers of the bone pins in the Early Bronze Age.

The thesis deals with the musical and stylistic analysis of the F. X. Brixi's oratorio Judas Iscariothes, that was preserved in the Osek Monastery under the name Oratorio pro die sacro parasceves. The first part of the thesis describes the musical history, preserved music sources and inventories of Osek. The next section deals with the oratorio in Osek. The main point of this chapter is to inventory oratorio productions performed in Osek during the 18th and early 19th century. The key part of the thesis is the musical and style analysis of the oratorio Judas Iscariothes. Appendix contains the edition of this oratorio.

This bachelor's thesis deals with the application of geochemical methods in the area of the deserted village Hol with a focus on phosphate analysis. The goal of the research of the area was to define the relative differences in the geochemical composition of soil in individual parts of intravilan and fields and contribute to the knowledge about their economic utilization. The evolution of the phosphate analysis in the world and in the Czech Republic with the focus on the issue of application of different methods used mainly in the medieval locations constitutes a significant part of the thesis. Natural conditions and other external effects influencing the content of phosphate in the soil were taken into account. The macroscopic observations during the probe digging proved the absence of a strong humic horizon in a place, where gardens were originally assumed. This absence could point to the location of economic buildings. The bleaching of upper soil horizons in the area could be caused by previous human activity; this phenomenon is connected not only to natural conditions, which are not opportune, but also to the absence of medieval tillage. (in English): Master thesis is focuced on analysis of polyculture hilltop settlement Dubeč - Rohožník in context of Eneolithic and Řivnáč culture. Archaeological artefacts originated from B. Novotný excavations of 1950 were analysed and results are compared with other řivnáč culture settlements in the region.

The aim of this thesis was to answer the Question Could we find something in European policy, what should to be the European identity?, through systematic research. Author decided for the mode of research on the basis of the studied literature and last international studies of this theme - thus to find european identity in european policy, not to describe a history of collocation "European identity". According to characteristic of terms "policy" and "identity, author analyses, whatever and how European identity express in European policy, by historic analysis, by analysis of documents - treaties of the European Union and foregoing organisations -, and by analysis of the overview of statistic data - Eurobarometer research. Historic analysis expressed different concepts of european identity - christianity, contradiction with islam, colonialism, science (like an ideology), rule of the law (particularly citizen's law and international law), man - sophist -, than analysis of documents of the Union -representative democracy, liberty, peace, security, human rights, rule of the law, and values, from which these emerged. The intention of this work is to construct and present general ambit of running of water management and water management policy between years 1870-1928, specifically in the Czech territory (Czech country). By researching this problem I am going to present the field of Water Management at that time like a new, progressive and ground-breaking aspect of agricultural policy of Austria-Hungary and its countries, which was understood as a tool for modernization with far-reaching effect on agricultural policy. This approach also started the new era of agricultural use of water. In the second part of this work I want to present on the example of Rakovník stream the development of using the water in the water management, which preceded 1870 and on this same example I am going to focus on practical results of the new water management policy which were presented in the first part of the work, in years 1870-1928. At the end of the 15th century in Bohemia penetrates the Renaissance style, which appeared in 1493 at the Prague Castle in the form of windows of the Vladislav Hall in the Old Royal Palace. Their appearance is historically and stylistically linked to the Buda Castle, where Vladislaus II. Jagiello relocated in 1490. Here he met the prime marble carvings of the court of Matthias Corvinus, for which worked Italian masters. Patterns of fragments of windows founded in Buda can find at the Palazzo Ducale of Federico da Montefeltro in Urbino, because Hungary was due Queen Beatrice of Aragon from Naples in live contact with Italy.

The technique of manufacturing of creamware and porcelain was discovered in Europe during the 18th century. The objects made from these materials document the social changes and the development of the dining culture, which both occured during the 18th century. At the end of that century classical culture became a fundamental inspirational source, which had been supported both by the discoveries of the ancient towns, Pompeii and Herculaneum, and by publishing books presenting ancient art. From the end of the 18th century the creamware and porcelain objects were started to be manufactured also in the Czech lands. In this master thesis I have studied, how the ancient influences were manifested in the products of the Czech and Moravian factories, from where they came and how they were transformed. The thesis does not cover all porcelain and creamware production, however it focuses on those factory where it was possible to detect ancient influences. The approach of the particular factories was strongly different. Czech porcelain factories took over ancient themes more likely from graphic patterns used in European workshops. BOHEMIA, CARINTHIA AND TYROL UNDER THE RULE OF HENRY OF CARINTHIA (JAKUB RAZIM) ABSTRACT The aim of this dissertation is to describe the governing practice (Herrschaftspraxis) of Henry of Carinthia in Bohemia, Carinthia and, subsequently, especially in the Tyrol, in whose southern parts the power base of the Menhart dynasty was situated. The work focuses on four key features of Henry's rule - constructing consensus between ruler and elites, exploiting feudal rights, the use of mortgages, and the use of culture to project political themes. The analysis of the various power techniques used is divided into individual chapters drawing on sources previously unpublished or insufficiently explored. The first group consists of Tyrolean chancery registers (Tiroler Kanzleiregister) and accounts books (Tiroler Rechnungsbücher, alternatively Raitbücher), the second of Austrian court poetry. Following the initial introduction of the sources, bibliography and methodology used for dealing with this particular topic, the consensual context is introduced, within which the rule of Henry of Carinthia was conducted, ranging from informal consultations to deliberations of the royal council. The task is to describe the music activites of ursuline monastery in Kutna Hora in the 18th century. This was achieved using non-music resources of this monastery preserved in the State Regional Archive Praha-Chodovec, and music collection located in the Czech Museum of Music. The music collection was subsequently analyzed according to various criteria. Jiří Chmelař The Economic and Financial Policy of Ferdinand I. in Bohemia Abstrakt v anglickém jazyce The economic and financial policy of early modern state influences its military and foreign policy, cultures and other life's aspects of its inhabitants. Ferdinand's accession to the throne meant turning point at the above mentioned aspects. It would be highly simplified to mark year 1526 just as a change of ruling dynasty. Ferdinand I., the second son of Jane who was Spanish heiress and Philip who was Burundian ruler, learned advanced administration and at first he started to apply it in Austria after death of his grandfather Maximilian I. After his election victory he started to apply it also in the Kingdom of Bohemia. In 1522 the Blood Judgment in Vienna showed King's tolerance with separation of powers and his conception of solution of a dispute with liege people. The king's authority was weak in the Kingdom under the Jagiellonian rule. Most of power was in hands of few elites and there was tension between aristocracy and king's towns because of economy (brewing) and political power. This work gives an overview of up to date knowledge of the Final Pleistocene in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, within the period known in archaeology as Late Palaeolithic. Apart from the review of results of previous research, six Late Palaeolithic chipped stone assemblages have been analyzed on techno-typological level. These assemblages have been put in context with contemporaneous sites in given region to create a map of Late Palaeolithic settlement. Quantification of most raw materials used in different sites made it possible to distinguish three to five raw material provinces, i.e. areas supplied with a concrete raw material type. These areas are probably identical with hunting territories of Late Palaeolithic hunters of Bohemian, Moravian and Silesian territory. The Bachelor's thesis deals with reception of Italian Renaissance forms of architecture in Czech. The base of this thesis consist in studying architectural theories. The first part of this thesis is focused on theories by Roman architect Vitruvius and theories by Renaissance architect Leon Battista Alberti. In his work Alberti used the principles of Vitruvius but he updated it. This thesis also includes descriptions of Florentine buildings which follow the principles and were projected by Alberti. The major part of this thesis is dedicated to beginnings and acceptation the Italian Renaissance forms of architecture in Central Europe. The present work deals with confirmations that have issued Bohemian kings and princes of Silesia to Bohemian or Silesian towns. The work is divided into five parts. The first deals with existing exploration and methodological inspiration that I subsequently used. The second chapter summarizes the findings regarding the process of confirmation documents - from motives of its release, through the process of the documents in the office during the procedure, to handing over the finished instrument beneficiaries and paying taxes. Then I deal with the various types of confirmations and also I discuss separately the observational charters. The third part is devoted confirmations for the Bohemian towns with regard to all documents which the royal towns received, published by Bohemian kings. The problems are discussed from the perspective of publishers and recipients, as well as the documents themselves (their content, form). The same shall apply also in the case of the fourth chapter, which deals with the same aspects of the Silesian towns and confirmations, which they were received. The aim of the dissertation is to create a monograph on the life and work of the Prague-based composer Johann Anton Koželuch (1738-1814). The first part follows the composer's journey through life and professional career, noting the background and the position that influenced his work and composition legacy. The conclusion of the first part is devoted to selected aspects of his work which is compared and contrasted with the period musical context. The second part of the dissertation contains a thematic catalogue of compositions by Johann Anton Koželuch. On the basis of musicological research it is incontestable that Johann Anton Koželuch ranks among the most important personalities of Bohemian musical life in the second half of the eighteenth and the first half of the nineteenth century and his legacy goes beyond the borders of this country. The dissertation points towards new findings about music history not only in Bohemia, but also across Central Europe.

This thesis deals with Bell Beaker Culture at the end of the Eneolithic in two areas of its extension, in the Czech Republic and the Iberian Peninsula. We consider it as a one culture; however we can observe some differences mostly based on different domestic cultural background. Differences and similarities in manifestation of culture derived from an analysis of its various aspects in both areas such as settlement structure, funeral rite and material culture, of which the most characteristic are decorated Bell Beakers and archery equipment coming from the graves. Článek se věnuje faunistice polokřídlého hmyzu v okolí města Přebuz v západních Krušných horách. V letech 2010-2014 jsme tam potvrdili výskyt 118 druhů ploštic, 107 druhů křísů a 21 druhů mer. Oblast je pozoruhodná zachovalými vrchovišti, přechodovými rašeliništi, vřesovišti a horskými loukami, na kterých se vyskytuje řada specializovaných druhů řádu Hemiptera (46 z nalezených druhů je zahrnuto do Červeného seznamu ohrožených bezobratlých ČR). Nejvýznamnější jsou nálezy klešťanky Sigara scotti (Douglas et Scott, 1868) (Heteroptera: Corixidae), ostruhovníka Javesella bottnica Huldén, 1974 (Auchenorrhyncha: Delphacidae) a kříska Macrosteles fieberi (Edwards, 1889) (Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadellidae) – tyto tři druhy jsou v současnosti v České republice známé pouze z okolí Přebuzi (pro M. fieberi se zároveň jedná o první potvrzené nálezy v ČR). U 61 druhů uvádíme stručné informace o jejich rozšíření a ekologii, včetně některých dosud nepublikovaných nálezů z jiných oblastí České republiky. Nejvýznamnější jsou nálezy klešťanky Sigara scotti (Douglas et Scott, 1868) (Heteroptera: Corixidae), ostruhovníka Javesella bottnica Huldén, 1974 (Auchenorrhyncha: Delphacidae) a kříska Macrosteles fieberi (Edwards, 1889) (Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadellidae) – tyto tři druhy jsou v současnosti v České republice známé pouze z okolí Přebuzi (pro M. fieberi se zároveň jedná o první potvrzený nález v ČR). U 61 druhů uvádíme stručné informace o jejich rozšíření a ekologii, včetně některých dosud nepublikovaných nálezů z jiných oblastí České republiky. Based on a faunistic survey in 2010–2014 and a few previously published records, we report 118 species of Heteroptera, 107 species of Auchenorrhyncha and 21 species of Sternorrhyncha: Psylloidea from the environs of the town of Přebuz in the western part of the Krušné hory Mts. (= Erzgebirge) in western Czech Republic. The area is remarkable for well-preserved peat bogs, transitional mires, heaths and montane meadows and the occurrence of many habitat specialists among the Hemiptera. Forty-six of the species recorded are listed on the Red List of threatened invertebrates of the Czech Republic. The most noteworthy are the records of Sigara scotti (Douglas et Scott, 1868) (Heteroptera: Corixidae), Javesella bottnica Huldén, 1974 (Auchenorrhyncha: Delphacidae), and Macrosteles fieberi (Edwards, 1889) (Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadellidae) – these three species are currently known in the Czech Republic only from the Přebuz environs (for M. fieberi, we provide here first the confirmed records from the Czech Republic). The distribution and ecology of 61 species are briefly discussed in the paper and additional, hitherto unpublished records from other regions of the Czech Republic are supplied for some of them.

The subject of the present thesis is origin, evolution and analysis of a book collection of South Bohemian native, Prague citizen and patriot Jan Dobromil Arbeiter (1794-1870) in cultural, social and political context of his time. The work is based on archive sources and book provenance recordsand its main goal is to trace the journey of collection from its founder, via library of Reálné gymnázium (Human Studies Secondary School) in Tábor, and State Archive in Tábor to the possession of contemporary holder and maintainer Hussite Museum in Tábor. An analysis of the linguage structure, printing places and printers is based is one of the main parts of the work Majority of the book collection consists of the books in Czech language printed in the Bohemian region, predominantly in Prag. Most of them were printed in the printing house of Pospíšil family active in Prague and town of Hradec Králové. The main task of this thesis was to analyse the structure of Arbeiter book collection and to establish genre typology of books. The collection consists of books typical for the printing production of its time, but also of the books exceptional, either because of the year of publishing, content or its outer shape (e. g. illumination). The aim of this thesis is to map everyday life in a military camp in the area of Bohemia during the period of Hussite wars, particularly in camps of an Utraquist as well as a Catholic army. It will concentrate mainly on various aspects of its everyday routine, such as supply, accommodation, camp fortification, a structure of command and camp management, but also on camp equipment. It will be founded on written and visual sources, as well as on normative and narrative (historiographical) records. The thesis will also introduce individual military orders. In more detail, it will be concerned with armour, clothing, and personal equipment of people dwelling in a military camp. Apart from this, it will focus on the issue of women and children (especially on their role and position) in a military camp. Furthermore, the thesis will differentiate between the form and the operation of a military camp led by a Catholic army from the form and the operation of a military camp led by an Utraquist army; and it will describe various types of these camps. Želiv, formerly the convent of Benedictines, was transformed into a Premonstratensians monastery (around 1149). Its beginnings were complicated. It took a long time to stabilize its existence and consolidate its property. The monastery has been located in deep forests of the western foothills of Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The location at the border of Bohemia and Moravia was ideal for colonization. Well preserved historical sources on this topic enable us to research the main phases of its economic development and describe it in the context of the period. The role of Želiv clergy in the uncovering of mining localities in Jihlava and Humpolec areas is also interesting but not well researched. The monastery in Želiv as such was rebuilt several times which would be impossible without a strong property base and a good management.
