- Abstract
Millennials are not as committed to charity as the generations before them. Millennials have also been proven very difficult to attract, which is problematic since Millennials are the future donors’ charity organizations must depend on. The purpose of this study is therefore to identify possible patterns, relationships and opportunities that would make Millennials donate to charity. The study presents the current situation of charity on the Swedish market, which follows by an introduction for how non-profit promote themselves and do their marketing. This leads to the research question: How should charity organizations promote themselves to get Millennials to become loyal? This study applies a qualitative research strategy. The primary data has been collected through semi-structured interviews with five representatives from five different charity organizations. All five organizations work with international projects. The result shows that the five organizations have knowledge about how to market to attract and engage Millennials, but they do not apply this knowledge. The result presents four paradoxes. We consider that the perception of these paradoxes, as well as responding to them, determines the charity organizations outcomes and overall ability to attract Millennials. The result also shows that to engage with Millennials and create long-lasting relationships, charity organizations marketing must be innovative, cool, and creative with repetitive messages. Charity organizations also must use the communication channels that Millennials engage with. The result has given rise to the "Interactional Model for Targeting Millennials", which is built on 11 key factors that charity organizations must apply to establish, develop and maintain a relationship with Millennials.

This paper aims to analyze a series of publicprivate urban initiatives implemented from 2007 to 2015 in Rosario, Argentina from a governmental perspective. It is argued that embellishment, entertaining and mobility projects are intended to show the “downtown area of the city” and those who inhabit, move and consume within this area as healthy, happy, enterprising and cool individuals, both at the national and international levels. These projects are based on emotions, controlling desires and choices made by people and building different “cool” urban habitation practices aimed to promote consumption. Fil: Ginga, Luciana Noelia. EDF, like many other public monopolies in France, has seen its status change in recentyears. At the same time companies are meeting new social problems, the EDF electrician is increasingly facing unpaid bills. The values of the company EDF, historically focused on social aspects, are questioned at this time of crisis while people may face more and more risks in their daily lives. In this context, we think it is worthwhile studying the notion of reputation and analyzing how it is built locally in terms of social interaction between the company and its customers. Between "saying" and "doing", identity and ethics, EDF values and actions are constantly being judged. The reputation of EDF as, a solidarity-based company, is at stake. The positioning and the nature of the “Intermediaries” have a major role to play in reconfiguration EDF reputation, still as a “social” company in the local territories. Because Intermediaries are anchored with the reality, their actions make the relationship between the customers and the energy distributor more balanced and harmonious. The role of Intermediaries remains significant despite the evolution of the concept of territory. Indeed, they now have access to new digital arenas – such as social networks that enlarge the reputations market – where they can benefit from their symbolic capital which is as crucial as unique for EDF reputation. This study analyse and compare five case studies to address two interrelated research questions: Within their respective contexts, to what extent do the actions of local Intermediaries have an impact on the perception of the customers and therefore on the harmonious and positive social reputation of EDF? And conversely, to what extend are theactions of the local Intermediaries influenced by the reputation of solidarity policy of the company? In an actionalist approach, our sociological interpretation will be positioned around the central assumption that reputation spreads between local areas and the broader sphere in aclose correlation with the actions and attitudes of Intermediaries.; EDF, comme tant d’autres monopoles publics en France, a vu son statut évoluer ces dernières années.

The Kepler mission has revealed that Earth-sized planets are common, and dozens have been discovered to orbit in or near their host star's habitable zone. A major focus in astronomy is to determine which of these exoplanets are likely to have Earth-like properties that are amenable to follow-up with both ground- and future space-based surveys, with an ultimate goal of probing their atmospheres to look for signs of life. Venus-like atmospheres will be of particular interest in these surveys. While Earth and Venus evolved to have similar sizes and densities, it remains unclear what factors led to the dramatic divergence of their atmospheres. Studying analogs to both Earth and Venus can thus shed light on the limits of habitability and the potential for life on known exoplanets. Here we present the discovery and confirmation of Kepler-1649b, an Earth-sized planet orbiting a nearby M5V star that receives incident flux at a level similar to that of Venus. We present our methods for characterizing the star, using a combination of PSF photometry, ground-based spectroscopy and imaging, to confirm the planetary nature of Kepler-1649b. Planets like Kepler-1649b will be prime candidates for atmospheric and habitability studies in the next generation of space missions., 8 pages, 9 figures

Nowadays, the people still underestimate local fashion product. Moreover, many international brand’s stores seem to dominate the market. Then, Brightspot Market comes up with the curated market concept to accommodate and promote a premium quality of local fashion product. This Article discusses representation process to youth identity in Brightspot Market event. This article discusses the representation process of youth identity to enrich the study of cultural sociology, especially the concept of “circuit of culture” by Stuart Hall. This article describes Brightspot Market which modifies circuit of culture concept. Using qualitative methods by interview and observation towards Brightspot owners, local products’ vendor and consumer, this article shows that Brightspot Market can modify that concept by represents “the cool” identity through its curated market concept to Jakarta young people.

Beta Ceti is a slowly rotating (v sin i = 3.5 kms−1) single giant. In our previous study (Tsvetkova et al. (2013)) we showed that it is in the core He-burning phase and we reconstructed two Zeeman Doppler imaging (ZDI) maps (using data from 2010 and 2011) revealing a simple large-scale magnetic field structure. We concluded that the magnetic field of beta Ceti could have a fossil field origin. In addition, the study of Aurière et al. (2015) about the properties and origin of the magnetism of late-type giants, where beta Ceti was a member of that sample, revealed that this star did not follow the general trends for dynamo-generated magnetic fields. Now, we present a new ZDI map of beta Ceti and compare the new results with our previous study. This monitoring for several years of the magnetic field topology and line activity indicators variability supports our previous conclusion about the fossil field origin of the magnetic field of beta Ceti.

Cool ,Stars - Abstract
Important diagnostics of the star/circumstellar interaction region of HerbigAe/Be stars are accessible by examining the temporal behavior of thenear-IR spectral lines He I λ10830 and Paschen gamma. We reduced andanalyzed 30 spectra of the strongly magnetic Herbig Ae star HD101412,acquired with the CRIRES and X-shooter spectrographs installed at theVLT (ESO, Chile). We found that the temporal behavior of these diagnosticlines in the near-infrared spectra can be explained by rotational modulationof line profiles generated by accreting gas with a period P = 20.53d.This period is about half of the magnetic rotation period P = 42.76dpreviously determined from measurements of the mean longitudinal magneticfield. Our finding indicates that the accreted matter falls onto the star in regions close to the magnetic poles intersecting the line-of-sight twiceduring the rotation cycle. The results of our study clearly demonstratethe power of such an analysis to diagnose the physical properties ofaccretion flows onto pre-main sequence stars.

Herbig Ae/Be-type stars are analogs of T Tauri stars in the higher mass range. Spectropolarimetric studies involving sharp-lined Herbig Ae stars appear to be a promising approach for the detection of their magnetic fields. We report the results of our HARPS high-resolution spectropolarimetric analysis of four Herbig Ae stars with low v sin i values: HD 101412, HD 104237, HD 190073, and PDS 2. The role of contamination by the surrounding warm circumstellar matter for the appearance of Zeeman features is discussed for the first time.

Within the RAVE (the Radial Velocity Experument) survey in total 574,630low-resolution spectra of 483,330 stars covering the Ca II IRT has beenobtained. With our selection criteria, out of those stars about 10% arelate-type dwarfs. We have selected these dwarfs from the database, converted the measured 1-Åcore equivalent widths into the fluxes, andobtained follow up high-resolution spectra of selected targets as well asspectra of MK standard stars using SES (STELLA échelle spectrograph) atSTELLA (STELLar Activity) telescope. With a single exposure, we cover allwavelengths from Ca H&K to IRT and can therefore relate IRT fluxes withthose of other activity indicators, such as Hα. Furthermore, we canplace these fluxes in relation to observable astrophysical parameters, such as global metallicity and temperature.

We validate a $R_p=2.32\pm 0.24R_\oplus$ planet on a close-in orbit ($P=2.260455\pm 0.000041$ days) around K2-28 (EPIC 206318379), a metal-rich M4-type dwarf in the Campaign 3 field of the K2 mission. Our follow-up observations included multi-band transit observations from the optical to the near infrared, low-resolution spectroscopy, and high-resolution adaptive-optics (AO) imaging. We perform a global fit to all the observed transits using a Gaussian process-based method and show that the transit depths in all passbands adopted for the ground-based transit follow-ups ($r'_2, z_\mathrm{s,2}, J, H, K_\mathrm{s}$) are within $\sim 2\sigma$ of the K2 value. Based on a model of the background stellar population and the absence of nearby sources in our AO imaging, we estimate the probability that a background eclipsing binary could cause a false positive to be $< 2\times 10^{-5}$. We also show that K2-28 cannot have a physically associated companion of stellar type later than M4, based on the measurement of almost identical transit depths in multiple passbands. There is a low probability for a M4 dwarf companion ($\approx 0.072_{-0.04}^{+0.02}$), but even if this were the case, the size of K2-28b falls within the planetary regime. K2-28b has the same radius (within $1\sigma$) and experiences a similar irradiation from its host star as the well-studied GJ~1214b. Given the relative brightness of K2-28 in the near infrared ($m_\mathrm{Kep}=14.85$ mag and $m_H=11.03$ mag) and relatively deep transit ($0.6-0.7\%$), a comparison between the atmospheric properties of these two planets with future observations would be especially interesting., Comment: 11 pages, 9 figures, accepted to ApJ

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to present a conceptual framework of cool for social marketing through a comprehensive literature review and integrating extant literature on cool. Design/methodology/approachA comprehensive search and review of extant literature across social marketing, business disciplines, arts, psychology, social sciences and humanities was undertaken to develop an understanding of cool and its relevance to social marketing. The review permitted developing a comprehensive set of characteristics that are associated with cool. FindingsA conceptual framework of cool organised according to the following dimensions is presented and discussed: deviating from norm, self-expressive, indicative of maturity, subversive, pro-social, evasive, and attractive. Originality/valueThis paper advances theoretical knowledge in the social marketing domain by offering a conceptual framework of cool, and by suggesting a set of guidelines to develop cool social marketing programs. © 2016, © Emerald Group Publishing Limited.

It is possible to reliably identify white dwarfs (WDs) without recourse to spectra, instead using photometric and astrometric measurements to distinguish them from Main Sequence stars and quasars. WDs' colours can also be used to infer their intrinsic properties (effective temperature, surface gravity, etc.), but the results obtained must be interpreted with care. The difficulties stem from the existence of a solid angle degeneracy, as revealed by a full exploration of the likelihood, although this can be masked if a simple best-fit approach is used. Conversely, this degeneracy can be broken if a Bayesian approach is adopted, as it is then possible to utilise the prior information on the surface gravities of WDs implied by spectroscopic fitting. The benefits of such an approach are particularly strong when applied to outliers, such as the candidate halo and ultra-cool WDs identified by Vidrih et al. (2007). A reanalysis of these samples confirms their results for the latter sample but suggests that that most of the halo candidates are thick disk WDs in the tails of the photometric noise distribution., MNRAS in press; 19 pages, 16 figures; major revisions to text but conclusions unchanged

Television shows like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are often venerated for their satirical criticisms of mainstream media and for their pedagogical value as critical resources for political consciousness. The programs are said to provide interrogations of contemporary forms of power while fostering more active, collaborative and politically engaged audiences. This thesis interrogates such claims by introducing a critical reading of the shows. It engages in dialogue with scholars working within a Culturalist approach to media and politics by demonstrating the importance of a Marxist-inspired approach to the study of satire news. Attention is given to the political-economy of satirical programming with a specific focus on its kinship with mainstream news media. Equal consideration is given to the programs' branding strategies, including savvy forms of 'cool' consumption and the commodification and exploitation of online fan-labor that increasingly complicate the shows' pedagogical value.

Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) was introduced in 2002 but not implemented until September, 2008. COOL required covered commodities to indicate their country of origin. Among other commodities, COOL applied to muscle cuts and ground beef. Canada and Mexico won a WTO complaint against the U.S. forcing USDA to rewrite the COOL regulations. The WTO finding on the re-written COOL regulation is due to become public any day. This paper analyzes the impact of COOL on stocker and feeder cattle price differences between the U.S. and Mexico. Cattle trade with Mexico is a longstanding market relationship. The U.S. imports stocker and feeder cattle from Mexico. Weekly AMS reported prices of Mexican cattle and Texas feeder cattle prices are used to construct a price spread. An econometric model is developed to analyze factors that affect the Mexican-U.S. feeder cattle price spread. A dummy variable is included for COOL implementation. COOL was found to have a statistically significant positive affect on the price spread for 300-400 and 500-600 pound feeder cattle. The results indicate that the Mexican cattle have received a significant discount following COOL implementation.

As a result of the lasts developments of the image’s reproduction and distribution media, mass culture appears in the beginnings of the twentieth century to rede fi ne over the whole century the manner of consumption, the art condition and the ways of seeing of his whole society in an irrecoverable way. More deeply, internet’s rises and cultural movements’s growing fragmentation lead to an extension and a transformation of the mass culture into commercial products and institutional contents by the capitalism. However, as much as Art History and Aesthetics, more focused on historicist researches or defenses of the high art, have ignored these last changes. Due to this, visual studies and, more decisive, the afterpop ’s theory of Eloy Fernandez Porta, have a more interdisciplinary researching methods. In this way, afterpop ’s theory combines the instruments of the anthropological discipline and the review of the traditional theories to research the e ff ects of the emotional capitalism and the necessity of renovation of the theoretical language. Lastly, these view leads to the obligation of reconsider our condition and the analytical instruments with which we understand our context.

Consumers' interest in locally produced foods is growing over the last years. Thus, studying consumers' preferences for local foods and understanding the underlying causes of this demand increase and willingness to buy local food products could be conducive to further development of local food markets. Country-of-origin labeling (COOL) is being implemented in different forms and degrees in Turkey and other countries across the world. In this study we focused on two different COOL food products from Turkey, namely Ayvalik olive oil and Ezine cheese. A survey was undertaken in the area of Istanbul aimed at studying consumer preferences for those products compared to their conventional counterparts. The willingness to pay equation has been specified as a two-step decision process, taking into account the results obtained from the two consecutive questions, willingness to pay a premium and how much consumers are willing to pay. If the decision will be consuming COOL product, different demand models (Heckmann models) were estimated. For these products, for that purpose, different price sets were defined to the consumers to evaluate how much they will pay extra. In conclusion we found out that, consumers are aware of those products and willing to pay a price premium. For Ayvalik Olive oil they are willing to pay 82 percentages more than conventional alternatives. For Ezine Cheese they are willing to pay a premium almost 4 times up to conventional cheese products.

236. Hip to be cool: A Gen y view of counterfeit luxury products

- Abstract
Mainstream literature shows that demand for counterfeit luxury brand products is primarily driven by consumers who want the status and image of luxury brands without the price tag. However, emerging evidence suggests that the interest of some consumers may be somewhat independent of the replicated brand. To date, the literature does not necessarily offer an alternate, or complementary, theory for these anomalous results. The current study proposes that the theory of 'cool consumption' by Generation Y helps to explain atypical demand for counterfeits. The cool consumption ideals of fun, rebellion and being a bit bad appear to fit with emerging evidence that some consumers see using counterfeits as fun and a way to go against the mainstream. A survey of 251 Gen Y young adults examines whether their consumption relates more closely to counterfeit-oriented attitudes, norms and beliefs than attitudes towards the genuine brand and price considerations. The research also compares counterfeit owners and non-owners in terms of genuine brand evaluations and loyalty to counterfeits in general. Overall, the findings show that for this segment, consuming counterfeit luxury products is more about the counterfeit aspects than brands or price, and the theory of cool consumption provides a plausible explanation for the results.

In a subsea facility, the pipelines will be surrounded by sea water at 4◦C, which will actively cool the production fluid inside. If temperatures drop below a critical value, water and gas will form unwanted solids called hydrates. Dead legs are inactive parts of production pipelines occupied by stagnant hydrocarbons. These areas pose a major hydrate formation risk, and needs to be insulated based on a prior heat transfer analysis. If a dead leg contains access points for e.g remotely operated vehicles, these areas need to be kept uninsulated, and will act as cold spots. Due to internal natural convection, these cold spots will potentially influence the temperatures throughout the system, and it is therefore crucial to predict the degree of influence. In this master thesis, experimental and numerical heat transfer analysis was conducted on a T-shaped plexiglass pipe, representing a production header with a vertical dead-leg. The header was insulated, while the dead-leg was uninsulated and carried a cold spot on top. In the first of two experimental phases, water was circulated through the header at constant flow rate, mimicking steady state production. In the second phase, the flow was enclosed and the water was cooled down over a period of 3 hours. During both phases, internal and external temperatures were measured with RTD s and thermocouples respectively, while velocities in the dead leg were measured using PIV. It was shown how the mean velocity field rotated periodically in a clockwise and counter-clockwise manner during both phases. A numerical model was created in Workbench, and simulations were carried out using RANS with a k − ω SST formulation in CFX. Temperatures were correctly predicted for 3 hours of cool down, by modelling the cold spot as an isothermal wall, even though simulations failed to recreate the periodic mean velocity field observed in the experiment.

This thesis is a study of British youth culture in the 1990s. It investigates the phenomenon of "Cool Britannia", what it was, how it was used by New Labour before and after the 1997 General Election, and if the phenomenon became firmly established in British society. As a part of this, the thesis also discusses the phenomenon of Britpop.

An educator who is aware of coolness of his target by age of his educative practice, can incorporate Zeitgeist product tendencies to improve content learning by attention capture processes and long-term relationship in a marketing fashion, to achieve the. competence- based acquisition process of health care related higher education. Is in this way in which cool-related marketing techniques and trend variations based upon target sociological and psychological studies are extrapolateable to the education practice in higher education of health sciences to achieve in the same fashion to revenue, acquisition of curriculum-based competences.
