220. Reinforced near-infrared compatible absorption performance of Er4Al2O9 based on Sm3+/Dy3+ co-doping.

Abstract

The damage to human body caused by laser and ultraviolet light from electronic products and sunlight has attracted attention. In this paper, on the basis of previous work, the near-infrared absorbing powder Er4Al2O9 was prepared by a more straightforward co-precipitation method, and intended to apply on laser protection. To achieve compatible absorption at 1064 and 1540 nm, the effects of doping Sm3+ and Dy3+ on the phase composition and reflectivity were inquired. The morphology, phase composition and reflectance of the fines were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy and the ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer (UV3600PC). No significant variation on the crystal structure was found of doped Sm3+ and Dy3+. While, the introduction of Sm3+/Dy3+ could greatly change the morphology of Er4Al2O9 powder, which will further affect the reflectivity performance. Through the co-doping of Sm3+ and Dy3+, it is expected to further broaden the characteristic absorption peak at 1100 nm. The results show that the absorption peak of Sm3+ at 1100 nm could be broadened with the increase of Dy3+ doping amount, and the reflectivity of Er0.8Dy2.0Sm1.6Al2O9 at 1064 and 1540 nm reaches the lowest value. Compared with the ordinary un-doped powder, the reflectivity of the co-doped powder at 1064 nm decreased by 26.41%, indicating a good application prospect. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

A new method of X-ray source spectrum estimation based on compressed sensing is proposed in this paper. The algorithm K-SVD is applied for sparse representation. Nonnegative constraints are added by modifying the L1 reconstruction algorithm proposed by Rosset and Zhu. The estimation method is demonstrated on simulated spectra typical of mammography and CT. X-ray spectra are simulated with the Monte Carlo code Geant4. Abstract

Inflammation in the central nervous system (CNS) contributes to disease pathologies by disrupting the integrity of the blood–brain barrier (BBB). Tight junctions (TJ) are a key component of the BBB. Following hypoxic–ischaemic or mechanical injury to the brain, inflammatory mediators are released such as cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors. Simultaneously, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are released which can degrade TJ proteins. Subsequently, the function and morphology of the BBB are disrupted, which allows immune cells an opportunity to enter into the brain parenchyma. This review summarises the information on the role of TJ protein families in the BBB and provides a comprehensive summary of the mechanisms whereby inflammation breaks down the BBB by increasing degradation of TJ proteins. Abstract

The existing FFT-WT algorithm and FFT-BP algorithm have advantages only for the detection of certain specific harmonics in photovoltaic systems. In this paper, the FFT-WT algorithm is improved, and a DFFT-WT algorithm is proposed. The FFT-BP algorithm is improved and an improved FFT-BP model is proposed. On the basis of this, the two are combined, the threshold interval is introduced to limit the search scope of the neural network iteration, and a DFFT-WT-BP(Double FFT-WT-BP) detection algorithm is proposed. The simulation results show that the algorithm can detect complex harmonic signals composed of multiple harmonics in the actual photovoltaic network inversion system, and is more accurate and practical.
