Abstract. Background. Since early December 2019, the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has caused pneumonia epidemic in Wuhan, Hubei province of China. This study aimed to investigate the factors affecting the progression of pneumonia in COVID-19 patients. Associated results will be used to evaluate the prognosis and to find the optimal treatment regimens for COVID-19 pneumonia. Methods. Patients tested positive for the COVID-19 based on nucleic acid detection were included in this study. Patients were admitted to 3 tertiary hospitals in Wuhan between December 30, 2019, and January 15, 2020. Individual data, laboratory indices, imaging characteristics, and clinical data were collected, and statistical analysis was performed. Based on clinical typing results, the patients were divided into a progression group or an improvement/stabilization group. Continuous variables were analyzed using independent samples t-test or Mann-Whitney U test. Categorical variables were analyzed using Chi-squared test or Fisher's exact test. Logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the risk factors for disease progression. Results. Seventy-eight patients with COVID-19-induced pneumonia met the inclusion criteria and were included in this study. Efficacy evaluation at 2 weeks after hospitalization indicated that 11 patients (14.1%) had deteriorated, and 67 patients (85.9%) had improved/stabilized. The patients in the progression group were significantly older than those in the disease improvement/stabilization group (66 [51, 70] vs. 37 [32, 41] years, U = 4.932, P = 0.001). The progression group had a significantly higher proportion of patients with a history of smoking than the improvement/stabilization group (27.3% vs. 3.0%, χ2 = 9.291, P = 0.018). For all the 78 patients, fever was the most common initial symptom, and the maximum body temperature at admission was significantly higher in the progression group than in the improvement/stabilization group (38.2 [37.8, 38.6] vs. 37.5 [37.0, 38.4]°C, U = 2.057, P = 0.027). Moreover, the proportion of patients with respiratory failure (54.5% vs. 20.9%, χ2 = 5.611, P = 0.028) and respiratory rate (34 [18, 48] vs. 24 [16, 60] breaths/min, U = 4.030, P = 0.004) were significantly higher in the progression group than in the improvement/stabilization group. C-reactive protein was significantly elevated in the progression group compared to the improvement/stabilization group (38.9 [14.3, 64.8] vs. 10.6 [1.9, 33.1] mg/L, U = 1.315, P = 0.024). Albumin was significantly lower in the progression group than in the improvement/stabilization group (36.62 ± 6.60 vs. 41.27 ± 4.55 g/L, U = 2.843, P = 0.006). Patients in the progression group were more likely to receive high-level respiratory support than in the improvement/stabilization group (χ2 = 16.01, P = 0.001). Multivariate logistic analysis indicated that age (odds ratio [OR], 8.546; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.628–44.864; P = 0.011), history of smoking (OR, 14.285; 95% CI: 1.577–25.000; P = 0.018), maximum body temperature at admission (OR, 8.999; 95% CI: 1.036–78.147, P = 0.046), respiratory failure (OR, 8.772, 95% CI: 1.942–40.000; P = 0.016), albumin (OR, 7.353, 95% CI: 1.098–50.000; P = 0.003), and C-reactive protein (OR, 10.530; 95% CI: 1.224−34.701, P = 0.028) were risk factors for disease progression. Conclusions. Several factors that led to the progression of COVID-19 pneumonia were identified, including age, history of smoking, maximum body temperature at admission, respiratory failure, albumin, and C-reactive protein. These results can be used to further enhance the ability of management of COVID-19 pneumonia.

Analyze the force of the agitating mechanism of double shaft vibrating mixer under different working conditions.Combined with the finite element software analysis,the stress,strain and modal shape of the agitating mechanism is obtained.At the same time,the strain pattern is compared with the actual deformation zone to verify the rationality of the finite element analysis.An optimization scheme is proposed aiming at improving the stiffness.After the simulation analysis,the stiffness of the optimized agitating mechanism is obviously enhanced to meet the work requirements.Meanwhile,the strength and natural frequency of the mechanism have also improved.It has an important significance for reducing safety incidents.At the same time,it also lays a theoretical foundation for vertical shaft vibration mixing technology.

The present experiment investigated the effects of galacto-oligosaccharide (GOS) on growth performance, faecal microbiota, immune response and antioxidant capability in weaned piglets. Ninety 28-day-old weaned piglets were randomly allocated into 5 treatments with 6 replicate pens per treatment and 3 piglets per pen (n = 18). These five diets were formulated by adding 0, 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 mg/kg GOS to the basal diet, respectively. The experiment was lasted for 28 days. Body weight and feed intake were determined. Faeces samples were collected to detect the amount of microbiota. Blood samples were used to determine antioxidative and immune parameters. The results indicated that GOS supplementation improved the growth performance, increased the number of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria and decreased the number of Escherichia coli in a linear or quadratic dose-dependent manner. Dietary GOS decreased serum concentration of pro-inflammatory cytokines in a quadratic dose-dependent manner, but increased anti-inflammatory cytokines in a linear or quadratic dose-dependent manner. Moreover, GOS supplementation promoted the activities of antioxidant enzyme in a linear or quadratic dose-dependent manner during the experiment. The levels of MDA quadratically decreased on d 28. These results suggested that GOS exhibited positive effects on growth performance, immune function and antioxidant capability in weaned piglets.

Frequent itemset mining is a fundamental problem in data mining area because frequent itemsets have been extensively used in reasoning, classifying, clustering, and so on. To mine frequent itemsets, previous algorithms based on a prefix tree structure have to construct many prefix trees, which is very time-consuming. In this paper, we propose a novel frequent itemset mining algorithm called DPT (Dynamic Prefix Tree) which uses only one prefix tree. We first introduce the concept of the post-conditional database of an itemset, and analyze the distribution of an itemset's post-conditional database in a prefix tree representing a database. Subsequently, we illuminate how DPT adjusts the prefix tree to mine frequent itemsets and give three optimization techniques. An interesting advantage of DPT is that the algorithm can directly output a prefix tree representing all frequent itemsets after slight modifications. Using only one dynamic prefix tree, DPT avoids the high cost of constructing many prefix trees and thus gains significant performance improvement. Experimental results show that DPT remarkably outperforms previous algorithms with respect to running time and memory usage, and that a prefix tree representing all frequent itemsets DPT outputs can be used more efficient than a list representing them previous algorithms output.

The microwave spectrum contains valuable information about solar flares. Yet, the present spectral coverage is far from complete and broad data gaps exist above 20 GHz. Here we report the first flare (the X2.2 flare on 2022 April 20) observation of the newly built Chashan Broadband Solar millimeter spectrometer (CBS) working from 35 to 40 GHz. We use the CBS data of the new Moon to calibrate, and the simultaneous NoRP data at 35 GHz to cross-calibrate. The impulsive stage has three local peaks with the middle one being the strongest and the maximum flux density reaches ∼9300 solar flux unit at 35–40 GHz. The spectral index of the CBS data ( α _C ) for the major peak is mostly positive, indicating the gyrosynchrotron turnover frequency ( ν _t ) goes beyond 35–40 GHz. The frequency ν _t is smaller yet still larger than 20 GHz for most of the other two peaks according to the spectral fittings with NoRP-CBS data. The CBS index manifests the general rapid-hardening-then-softening trend for each peak and gradual hardening during the decay stage, agreeing with the fitted optically thin spectral index ( α _tn ) for ν _t < 35 GHz. In addition, the obtained turnover frequency ( ν _t ) during the whole impulsive stage correlates well with the corresponding intensity ( I _t ) according to a power-law dependence ( ${I}_{t}\propto {\nu }_{t}^{4.8}$ ) with a correlation coefficient of 0.82. This agrees with earlier studies on flares with low turnover frequency (≤17 GHz), yet it is being reported for the first time for events with a high turnover frequency (≥20 GHz).

The heat transfer enhancement achieved by the additional electric field in Rayleigh–Bénard convection (RBC) of a dielectric fluid is numerically studied beyond the Rayleigh number Ra = 105. We carried out direct numerical simulations of RBC in a rectangular enclosure under the strong injection condition with a fixed non-dimensional injection parameter C = 10, a fixed mobility number M = 10, two Rayleigh numbers Ra = 105 and Ra = 106, and two Prandtl numbers Pr = 1 and Pr = 10 to investigate the characteristics of flow structure and heat transfer and evaluate the dependence on these parameters. It is observed that the flow structure exhibits multiple states with various steady or unsteady flow patterns such as four cells, three cells, and two cells (up/down). It is found that the introduction of an electric field is an effective way to achieve heat transfer enhancement. The heat flux is augmented more efficiently for a large Prandtl number and a low Rayleigh number, where the electric field has a strong effect relative to buoyancy. It is also found that heat transfer is most efficient when the flow pattern is in a three cells flow state.

A novel class of polymers and oligomers of chiral folding chirality has been designed and synthesized, showing structurally compacted triple-column/multiple-layer frameworks. Both uniformed and differentiated aromatic chromophoric units were successfully constructed between naphthyl piers of this framework. Screening monomers, catalysts, and catalytic systems led to the success of asymmetric catalytic Suzuki-Miyaura polycouplings. Enantio- and diastereochemistry were unambiguously determined by X-ray structural analysis and concurrently by comparison with a similar asymmetric induction by the same catalyst in the asymmetric synthesis of a chiral three-layered product. The resulting chiral polymers exhibit intense fluorescence activity in a solid form and solution under specific wavelength irradiation.

In tunnel design and construction, proper and accurate classification of rock surrounding tunnels is needed to ensure tunnel construction safety, guarantee construction quality, and reduce project costs. With rapid urbanization, numerous small clear-distance tunnels have been constructed in dense urban road networks. Compared with ordinarily separated tunnels, the construction scale and difficulty of small clear-distance tunnels are greater, and the requirements for the classification of rock surrounding tunnels are accordingly higher. A small clear-distance tunnel in an urban super large and complex underground interchange hub of the Xiamen Haicang Evacuation Channel was selected as the background, and the classification method of the middle rock pillar in a small clear-distance tunnel is presented based on the general classification standard of surrounding rocks. Based on the geometric, physical, and mechanical factors of the middle rock pillar, six indices affecting the stability and quality of the middle rock pillar were selected, and the classification index system of the middle rock pillar was established from the two dimensions of the basic and auxiliary indices. The basic and auxiliary indices were scored using the scoring method, and the different grades of the middle rock pillar were divided according to different scores. The middle rock pillar classification standard was applied to the quality assessment of the middle rock pillar, which provided a basis for the on-site assessment of the quality of the middle rock pillar and proved the accuracy and superiority of the improved classification standard. The newly established classification standard can provide a reference for selecting the correct construction method and supporting structure type for small clear-distance tunnels.

Ionizing radiation induces brain inflammation and the impairment of neurogenesis by activating microglia and inducing apoptosis in neurogenic zones. However, the causal relationship between microglial activation and the impairment of neurogenesis as well as the relevant molecular mechanisms involved in microRNA (miR) remain unknown. In the present study, we employed immunohistochemistry and real-time RT-PCR to study the microglial activation and miRNA expression in mouse brains. Real-time RT-PCR, western blot, ELISA, cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assay were used in BV2 and mouse neural stem cells (NSCs). In the mouse model, we found the acute activation of microglia at 1 day and an increased number of microglial cells at 1, 7 and 120 days after irradiation at postnatal day 3 (P3), day 10 (P10) and day 21 (P21), respectively. In cell models, the activation of BV2, a type of microglial cell line, was observed after gamma irradiation. Real-time RT-PCR analysis revealed a deceased expression of miR-181b-2-3p and an increased expression of its target SRY-related high-mobility group box transcription factor 21 (SOX21) in a dose- and time-dependent fashion. The results of the luciferase reporter assay confirmed that SOX21 was the target of miR-181b-2-3p. Furthermore, SOX21 knockdown by siRNA inhibited the activation of microglia, thereby suggesting that the direct interaction of 181b-2-3p with SOX21 might be involved in radiation-induced microglial activation and proliferation. Interestingly, the gamma irradiation of NSCs increased miR-181b-2-3p expression but decreased SOX21 mRNA, which was the opposite of irradiation-induced expression in BV2 cells. As irradiation reduced the viability and proliferation of NSCs, whereas the overexpression of SOX21 restored the impaired cell viability and promoted the proliferation of NSCs, the findings suggest that the radiation-induced interaction of miR-181b-2-3p with SOX21 may play dual roles in microglia and NSCs, respectively, leading to the impairment of brain neurogenesis.

Calibrating solar radio flux has always been a concern in the solar community. Previously, fluxes were calibrated by matching load or the new Moon for relative calibration, and at times with the assistance of other stations’ data. Moreover, the frequency coverage seldom exceeded 26 GHz. This paper reports the upgraded and calibrated Chashan Broadband Solar millimeter spectrometer (CBS) working from 35 to 40 GHz at the Chashan Solar Observatory (CSO). Initially, the calibration of the solar radiation brightness temperature is accomplished using the new Moon as the definitive source. Subsequently, the 35–40 GHz standard flux is achieved by establishing the correlation between the solar radio flux, brightness temperature, and frequency. Finally, the calibration of the solar radio flux is implemented by utilizing a constant temperature-controlled noise source as a reference. The calibration in 2023 February and March reveals that the solar brightness temperature is 11,636 K at 37.25 GHz with a standard deviation (STD) of 652 K. The solar radio flux’s intensity is ∼3000–4000 solar flux units (SFU) in the range of 35–40 GHz with a consistency bias of ±5.3%. The system sensitivity is about ∼5–8 SFU by a rough evaluation, a noise factor of about 200 K, and the coefficient of variation of the system transmission slope of 6.5% @ 12 hr at 37.25 GHz. It is expected that the upgraded CBS will capture more activity during the upcoming solar cycle.

In this study, we have developed a centimeter-band solar radio telescope covering the 6–15 GHz frequency band. The radio telescope has the outstanding advantages of a large instantaneous sampling bandwidth and wide frequency coverage. As a new solar radio telescope, its time resolution reaches a very high level of 0.26 ms at a frequency resolution of 3 MHz, which is very conducive to observing the fine structure of radio burst signals. In terms of the structure design, the system employs a 3 m diameter parabolic antenna to receive solar radio signals. The antenna has high gain and good directivity, and the pointing accuracy reaches 0.°02, which ensures the ability to accurately track the Sun in real time. In the analog signal processing module, the combination of radio frequency direct acquisition and down conversion is used to reduce the interference caused by multiple spectrum shifts. Regarding the digital receiver, a digital receiving module with high sampling rate and acquisition resolution is used for data acquisition and processing, which ensures that the observation system can obtain observation data with high time and frequency resolutions and real-time data processing. During the trial operation of the system, solar radio bursts have been observed many times, and these observations have been supported by similar international observation equipment. According to a data comparison, the data obtained by our observation system are more precise. At present, equipment calibration methods are being improved and constructed to obtain more accurate observation data.

In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a two-element interferometer operating in the millimeter-wave band (39.5–40 GHz) for observing solar radio emissions through nulling interference. The system is composed of two 50 cm aperture Cassegrain antennas installed on a common equatorial mount, with a separation of 230 wavelengths. The cross-correlation of the received signals effectively cancels out the quiet solar component of the high flux density (∼3000 sfu) that reduces the detection limit due to atmospheric fluctuations. The system performance is as follows: the noise factor of the analog front end in the observation band is less than 2.1 dB, system sensitivity is approximately 12.4 K (∼34 sfu) with an integration time constant of 0.1 ms (default), the frequency resolution is 153 kHz, and the dynamic range is ≥30 dB. Through actual testing, the nulling interferometer observes a quiet Sun with a low level of output fluctuations (up to 50 sfu) and has a significantly lower radiation flux variability (up to 190 sfu) than an equivalent single-antenna system, even under thick cloud cover. As a result, this new design can effectively improve observation sensitivity by reducing the impact of atmospheric and system fluctuations during observation.

Preflare activities contain critical information about the precursors and causes of solar eruptions. Here we investigate the characteristics and origin of a group of broadband pulsations (BBPs) in the decimetric-metric wavelengths that took place during the preflare stage of the M7.1 flare on 2011 September 24. The event was recorded by multiple solar instruments, including the Nançay Radioheliograh, that measure the properties of the radio source. The BBPs started ∼24 minutes before the flare onset, extending from 60% in the right-handed sense. These observations indicate that the steepening EUV wave is important to the BBPs during the second stage, while the preflare reconnections causing the jets and EUV brightenings are important in both stages. This is the first time that such a strong association of an EUV wave with BBPs is reported. We suggest a scenario in which reconnection occurs together with a shock that sweeps across the loops as the cause of the BBPs.

Synchrotron-based soft X-ray tomography (SXT), providing three-dimensional morphology and quantitative distribution of linear absorption coefficient (LAC) of the imaged objects, is widely used in many fields to obtain ultra-structure images, especially in cellular imaging. Off-line fluorescence microscopies (FMs) are combined to identify the type of organelles and status of cells. However, deformation and displacement usually occur during the transfer and loading process, which decreases the precision of two-modal images’ registration. In this paper, we report on an on-line FM, at the SXT station (BL07W) of the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL), which avoids deformation and displacement. Therefore, researchers can easily find the sample and take the useful data without tedious post-processing. Combining SXT with on-line FM, we achieved the identification and high-resolution imaging of an apoptotic cell. The experiments revealed that the LAC of the nucleus of the apoptotic cell was larger than that of a normal cell, which could be explained by nucleus pyknosis of the apoptotic cell.

Close excavation section spacing, the mutual influence and interpenetration of various processes, and the multiple disturbances of the middle rock pillar in a small clear-distance tunnel pose great difficulty to construction. This study adopted the small clear-distance tunnel of Xiamen Haicang Evacuate Channel as the research object. The tunnel belonged to a small clear-distance tunnel in an urban super large and complex underground interchange hub where complex adjacent small clear-distance tunnels were adopted. ABAQUS was used to analyze the influence of different excavation schemes, lithological grades, and footage lengths for tunnel stability. The deformation and stress characteristics of the tunnel’s surrounding rock and lining structure in different excavation schemes (full section method, bench method, center diaphragm (CD) method, and double wall heading method), lithological grades (III, IV and V), and footage lengths (3 m, 4 m and 5 m) were introduced. The results showed that the double wall heading method could effectively control the horizontal displacement of the hance, and the overall stress state of the lining in the CD and double wall heading methods were reasonable. The vertical displacement of the surface and vault was positively correlated with the elastic modulus of the rock mass. When no temporary support was present in the grade V rock mass, the area from the hance to the arch foot was prone to large deformation. Reducing the footage was beneficial to controlling the deformation of the vault and hance. This study can provide a reference for the on-site construction of small clear-distance tunnels.

Large section tunnels have huge excavation spans, complex excavation procedures, mutual influence among various procedures, multiple disturbances of the surrounding rock, and discontinuous connection among linings under different procedures, which bring great difficulties to their construction. The Caijianwei Mountain No. 2 tunnel of the Xiamen Haicang Evacuate-channel project in China belongs to a super large section tunnel. The tunnel’s maximum excavation section span reaches 30.52 m, and the excavation area reaches 421.73 m2. Its excavation sequence, the timing of the second primary lining support, temporary support disassembly, and secondary lining support of the double-side heading method were analyzed using numerical methods. The excavation sequence of the double side-heading method from the right pilot tunnel to the left pilot tunnel and then to the middle pilot tunnel can avoid a large horizontal displacement at the arch waist and control the deformation of the lining. The excavation sequence from the middle pilot tunnel to the two side pilot tunnels was conducive to the bearing performance of the concrete at the arch crown. The excavation sequence from the two side pilot tunnels to the middle pilot tunnel can better protect the concrete safety at the arch waist. The timing of the second primary lining support, temporary support removal, and secondary lining support have different effects on the deformation and stress of the surrounding rock and support structures. In the construction process, the timing of the second primary lining support, temporary support disassembly, and secondary lining support should be determined according to the actual deformation and stress of the site section. The research results can provide a reference for the construction design of the double-side heading method for large section tunnels.

Tripterygium hypoglaucum (Lévl.) Hutch (THH) is believed to play an important role in health care and disease treatment according to traditional Chinese medicine. Moreover, it is also the representative of medicine with both significant efficacy and potential toxicity. This characteristic causes THH hard for embracing and fearing. In order to verify its prospect for clinic, a wide variety of studies were carried out in the most recent years. However, there has not been any review about THH yet. Therefore, this review summarized its characteristic of components, pharmacological effect, pharmacokinetics and toxicity to comprehensively shed light on the potential clinical application. More than 120 secondary metabolites including terpenoids, alkaloids, glycosides, sugars, organic acids, oleanolic acid, polysaccharides and other components were found in THH based on phytochemical research. All these components might be the pharmacological bases for immunosuppression, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumour effect. In addition, recent studies found that THH and its bioactive compounds also demonstrated remarkable effect on obesity, insulin resistance, fertility and infection of virus. The main mechanism seemed to be closely related to regulation the balance of immune, inflammation, apoptosis and so on in various disease. Furthermore, the study of pharmacokinetics revealed quick elimination of the main component triptolide. The feature of celastrol was also investigated by several models. Finally, the side effect of THH was thought to be the key for its limitation in clinical application. A series of reports indicated that multiple organs or systems including liver, kidney and genital system were involved in the toxicity. Its potential serious problem in liver was paid specific attention in recent years. In summary, considering the significant effect and potential toxicity of THH as well as its components, the combined medication to inhibit the toxicity, maintain effect might be a promising method for clinical conversion. Modern advanced technology such as structure optimization might be another way to reach the efficacy and safety. Thus, THH is still a crucial plant which remains for further investigation.

Thermal convection in a tilted three-dimensional rectangular box has been systematically investigated by direct numerical simulation. The Rayleigh number Ra varies from 107 to 109, the Prandtl number Pr is set to 0.7, and the tilted angle β ranges from 0° to 90°. The effects of tilting on large-scale circulation (LSC), Nusselt number (Nu), Reynolds number (Re), and boundary layers (BLs) and the Ra-dependency are investigated. For large β exceeding certain values, say 45°, the stable temperature stratification forms in the bulk, resulting in low Re and Nu. It is found that the tilting leads to a distinct trend for Nu and Re: Nu first increases to some extent for small β, then nearly stays unchanged for moderate β, and finally decreases for large β, while Re initially increases for small β and then directly declines with increasing β. Based on the analysis of flow structures, with increasing β, it is found that the volume of the high-velocity tube (HVT) initially increases for 107 ≤ Ra ≤ 108 but decreases for Ra = 109, which is responsible for the variation in Nu at small β. The probability density functions of instantaneous convective heat transport within the HVT show higher probabilities for large values when β increases, implying that LSC tends to be more coherent and causing different tilting behaviors between Nu and Re. Finally, we find that, except for β = 90°, the normalized profiles of viscous and thermal BLs tend to have universal profiles, deviating from the BL of the Prandtl–Blasius–Pohlhausen (PBP) type to some extent regardless of β. Only the thermal BL for β = 90° is found to be in good agreement with the classic PBP laminar BL profile.

SARS-coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), pathogen of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), is constantly evolving to adapt to the host and evade antiviral immunity. The newly emerging variants N501Y.V1 (B.1.1.7) and N501Y.V2 (B.1.351), first reported in the United Kingdom and South Africa respectively, raised concerns due to the unusually rapid global spread. The mutations in spike (S) protein may contribute to the rapid spread of these variants. Here, with a vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV)-based pseudotype system, we demonstrated that the pseudovirus bearing N501Y.V2 S protein has higher infection efficiency than pseudovirus with wildtype (WT) and D614G S protein. Moreover, pseudovirus with N501Y.V1 or N501Y.V2 S protein has better thermal stability than WT and D614G, suggesting these mutations of variants may increase the stability of SARS-CoV-2 S protein and virion. However, the pseudovirus bearing N501Y.V1 or N501Y.V2 S protein has similar sensitivity to inhibitors of protease and endocytosis with WT and D614G. These findings could be of value in preventing the spread of virus and developing drugs for emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants.

Solar radio bursts can be used to study the properties of solar activities and the underlying coronal conditions on the basis of the present understanding of their emission mechanisms. With the construction of observational instruments, around the world, a vast volume of solar radio observational data has been obtained. Manual classifications of these data require significant efforts and human labor in addition to necessary expertise in the field. Misclassifications are unavoidable due to subjective judgments of various types of radio bursts and strong radio interference in some events. It is therefore timely and demanding to develop techniques of auto-classification or recognition of solar radio bursts. The latest advances in deep learning technology provide an opportunity along this line of research. In this study, we develop a deep convolutional generative adversarial network model with conditional information (C-DCGAN) to auto-classify various types of solar radio bursts, using the solar radio spectral data from the Culgoora Observatory (1995, 2015) and the Learmonth Observatory (2001, 2019), in the metric decametric wavelengths. The technique generates pseudo images based on available data inputs, by modifying the layers of the generator and discriminator of the deep convolutional generative adversarial network. It is demonstrated that the C-DCGAN method can reach a high-level accuracy of auto-recognition of various types of solar radio bursts. And the issue caused by inadequate numbers of data samples and the consequent over-fitting issue has been partly resolved.

Houttuynia cordata Thunb (H. cordata; Saururaceae) is widely distributed in Asian regions. It plays an important role in traditional health care and disease treatment, as its aboveground stems and leaves have a long medicinal history in China and are used in the treatment of pneumonia and lung abscess. In clinical treatment, it can usually be combined with other drugs to treat dysentery, cold, fever, and mumps; additionally, H. cordata is an edible plant. This review summarizes detailed information on the phytochemistry and pharmacological effects of H. cordata. By searching the keywords “H. cordata and lung”, “H. cordata and heart”, “H. cordata and liver”, and “H. cordata and inflammation” in PubMed, Web of Science and ScienceDirect, we screened out articles with high correlation in the past ten years, sorted out the research contents, disease models and research methods of the articles, and provided a new perspective on the therapeutic effects of H. cordata. A variety of its chemical constituents are characteristic of medicinal plants, the chemical constituents were isolated from H. cordata, including volatile oils, alkaloids, flavonoids, and phenolic acids. Flavonoids and volatile oils are the main active components. In pharmacological studies, H. cordata showed organ protective activity, such as reducing the release of inflammatory factors to alleviate lung injury. Moreover, H. cordata regulates immunity, enhances the immune barriers of the vagina, oral cavity, and intestinal tract, and combined with the antibacterial and antiviral activity of its extract, effectively reduces pathogen infection. Furthermore, experiments in vivo and in vitro showed significant anti-inflammatory activity, and its chemical derivatives exert potential therapeutic activity against rheumatoid arthritis. Antitumour action is also an important pharmacological activity of H. cordata, and studies have shown that H. cordata has a notable effect on lung tumour, liver tumour, colon tumour, and breast tumour. This review categorizes the biological activities of H. cordata according to modern research papers, and provides insights into disease prevention and treatment of H. cordata.
