202. Interactions between grain boundary and compositional domain boundary during spinodal decomposition in nanocrystalline alloys

Abstract

Due to the large grain boundary (GB) volume fraction in nanocrystalline materials, interactions between GB and compositional domain boundary (CDB) play an important role in determining the nanoscale-modulated domain structures during spinodal decomposition. In the present paper, the phase field crystal model is employed to investigate the interactions between GB and CDB. Simulation results show that CDB coarsening can drive the GB migration and bring the impingement of particles with different orientations; the large volume fraction of GB can increase the dislocation volume fraction in CDBs but does not change its proportion in the whole defects number; the crossover point of the coarsening dynamic comes from the block effect of GB with large volume fraction.

Abstract

While the rotor of a high-speed permanent magnet motor runs at high speed, it is difficult for the permanent magnet to bear the huge tensile stress which caused by centrifugal force. In addition, the rotor is also prone to vibration and even bending deformation due to resonance. Therefore, the strength and critical speed of the rotor must be analyzed and checked. In this paper, because of the slim characteristic of high speed permanent magnet rotors, the displacement and stress fields of a 150 kW, 30 000 r/min surface mounted high speed permanent magnet motor rotor are deduced based on the theory of the thick-walled cylinder. The finite element method is used to verify the correctness of the analytical calculation. Based on the deduced analytical formulas, the influences of the inner diameter of the permanent magnet and the sleeve material on the rotor stress are analyzed. At the same time, the finite element method is used to calculate the critical speed of the rotor and analysis the influences of the inner diameter of the permanent magnet and the sleeve material on the critical speed of the rotor shaft system. A basis for the design of the high speed permanent magnet motor rotor is given.

Abstract

Magnesium and its alloys, as a promising class of materials, is popular in lightweight application and biomedical implants due to their low density and good biocompatibility. Additive manufacturing (AM) of Mg and its alloys is of growing interest in academia and industry. The domain-by-domain localized forming characteristics of AM leads to unique microstructures and performances of AM-process Mg and its alloys, which are different from those of traditionally manufactured counterparts. However, the intrinsic mechanisms still remain unclear and need to be in-depth explored. Therefore, this work aims to discuss and analyze the possible underlying mechanisms regarding defect appearance and elimination, microstructure formation and evolution, and performance improvement, based on presenting a comprehensive and systematic review on the relationship between process parameters, forming quality, microstructure characteristics and resultant performances. Lastly, some key perspectives requiring focus for further progression are highlighted to promote development of AM-processed Mg and its alloys and accelerate their industrialization.

Abstract

Multi-layer insulation materials possess low radiation thermal conductivity, and excellent thermal insulation property in a vacuum environment. However, the spacers of the traditional multi-layer insulation materials are mostly loose fibers, which lead to more sensitive to the vacuum environmental of serviced. With the vacuum degree declining, gas phases thermal convection increase obviously, and the reflective screen will be severe oxidation, all of these make the thermal insulation property of traditional multi-layer insulation deteriorate, thus limits its application scope. In this paper, traditional multi-layer insulation material is combined with aerogel and obtain a new multi-layer aerogel thermal insulation composite, and the effects of the number, thickness and type of the reflective screens on the thermal insulation properties of the multi-layer composites are also studied. The result is that the thermal insulation property of the new type multi-layer aerogel composites is better than the pure aerogel composites and the traditional multi-layer insulation composites. When the 0.01 mm stainless steel foil as the reflective screen, and the aluminum silicate fiber and silica aerogel as the spacer layer, the layer density of composite with the best thermal insulation property is one layer per millimeter at 1000 °C. 236. An MAP kinase interacts with LHK1 and regulates nodule organogenesis in Lotus japonicus

Abstract

Symbiosis receptor-like kinase (SymRK) is a key protein mediating the legume-Rhizobiumsymbiosis. Our previous work has identified an MAP kinase kinase, SIP2, as a SymRK-interacting protein to positively regulate nodule organogenesis in Lotus japonicus, suggesting that an MAPK cascade might be involved in Rhizobium-legume symbiosis. In this study, LjMPK6 was identified as a phosphorylation target of SIP2. Stable transgenic L. japonicuswith RNAi silencing of LjMPK6decreased the numbers of nodule primordia (NP) and nodule, while plants overexpressing LjMPK6increased the numbers of nodule, infection threads (ITs), and NP, indicating that LjMPK6 plays a positive role in nodulation. LjMPK6 could interact with a cytokinin receptor, LHK1 both in vivoand in vitro. LjMPK6 was shown to compete with LHP1 to bind to the receiver domain (RD) of LHK1and to downregulate the expression of two LjACS(1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid synthase) genes and ethylene levels during nodulation. This study demonstrated an important role of LjMPK6 in regulation of nodule organogenesis and ethylene production in L. japonicus.

Abstract

Nod Factor Receptor5 (NFR5) is an atypical receptor-like kinase, having no activation loop in the protein kinase domain. It forms a heterodimer with NFR1 and is required for the early plant responses to Rhizobium infection. A Rho-like small GTPase from Lotus japonicus was identified as an NFR5-interacting protein. The amino acid sequence of this Rho-like GTPase is closest to the Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) ROP6 and Medicago truncatula ROP6 and was designated as LjROP6. The interaction between Rop6 and NFR5 occurred both in vitro and in planta. No interaction between Rop6 and NFR1 was observed. Green fluorescent protein-tagged ROP6 was localized at the plasma membrane and cytoplasm. The interaction between ROP6 and NFR5 appeared to take place at the plasma membrane. The expression of the ROP6 gene could be detected in vascular tissues of Lotus roots. After inoculation with Mesorhizobium loti, elevated levels of ROP6 expression were found in the root hairs, root tips, vascular bundles of roots, nodule primordia, and young nodules. In transgenic hairy roots expressing ROP6 RNA interference constructs, Rhizobium entry into the root hairs did not appear to be affected, but infection thread growth through the root cortex were severely inhibited, resulting in the development of fewer nodules per plant. These data demonstrate a role of ROP6 as a positive regulator of infection thread formation and nodulation in L. japonicus.

238. Pricing method of shared energy storage bias insurance service based on large number theorem

Abstract

Under the goal of “double carbon”, energy storage is gradually recognized by the society as a means to adjust the output deviation of new energy sources. However, the development of energy storage industry is limited due to the high cost and unclear revenue model of energy storage batteries. Based on this, this paper proposes a business model in which shared energy storage operators provide bias insurance services for new energy sources. Firstly, based on the perspective of commercial insurance, the business model of the shared energy storage operator providing deviation insurance service is designed; secondly, based on the law of large numbers and the actuarial theory of insurance; and finally, the validity of the model is verified through calculation examples, and the feasibility of the proposed business model is also proved. The research results show that compared with the installed capacity of shared energy storage deviation insurance mode reduces 81.57 % compared with new energy storage, and the insurance cost of unit installed capacity of new energy station saves 71.07 % compared with the cost of self-built energy storage cost and deviation assessment cost, which greatly improves the energy storage utilization efficiency and the economic benefits of energy storage operators. The insurance, a financial product explored in this paper, enriches the profit model of energy storage, provides a feasible path for energy storage investors to lock in profits in advance, helps to stimulate the enthusiasm of energy storage investment, and promote the development of China's new energy and energy storage industry.

Abstract

In the Rhizobium-legume symbiosis, calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase (CCaMK) is a key regulator for both rhizobial infection and nodule organogenesis. Deregulation of CCaMK by either a point mutation in the autophosphorylation site or the deletion of the carboxyl-terminal regulatory domain results in spontaneous nodule formation without rhizobia. However, the underlying biochemical mechanisms are poorly understood. Here, using the kinase domain of CCaMK as a bait in yeast two-hybrid screening, we identify a novel protein, CIP73 (for CCaMK-interacting protein of approximately 73 kD), that interacts with CCaMK. CIP73 contains a Scythe_N ubiquitin-like domain and belongs to the large ubiquitin superfamily. Deletion and mutagenesis analysis demonstrate that CIP73 could only interact with CCaMK when the calmodulin-binding domain and three EF-hand motifs are removed from the kinase domain. The amino-terminal 80 amino acid residues (80-160) of CCaMK are required for interacting with CIP73 in yeast cells. On the other hand, protein pull-down assay and bimolecular fluorescence complementation assay in Nicotiana benthamiana show that the full-length CCaMK could interact with CIP73 in vitro and in planta. Importantly, CCaMK phosphorylates the amino terminus of CIP73 in a Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent manner in vitro. CIP73 transcripts are preferentially expressed in roots, and very low expression is detected in leaves, stems, and nodules. The expression in roots is significantly decreased after inoculation of Mesorhizobium loti. RNA interference knockdown of CIP73 expression by hairy root transformation in Lotus japonicus led to decreased nodule formation, suggesting that CIP73 performed an essential role in nodulation.
