Abstract

The Electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (ENRR) can be used to solve environmental problems as well as energy shortage. However, ENRR still faces the problems of low NH3 yield and low selectivity. The NH3 yield and selectivity in ENRR are affected by multiple factors such as electrolytic cells, electrolytes, and catalysts, etc. Among these catalysts are at the core of ENRR research. Single‐atom catalysts (SACs) with intrinsic activity have become an emerging technology for numerous energy regeneration, including ENRR. In particular, regulating the microenvironment of SACs (hydrogen evolution reaction inhibition, carrier engineering, metal‐carrier interaction, etc.) can break through the limitation of intrinsic activity of SACs. Therefore, this Review first introduces the basic principles of NRR and outlines the key factors affecting ENRR. Then a comprehensive summary is given of the progress of SACs (precious metals, non‐precious metals, non‐metallic) and diatomic catalysts (DACs) in ENRR. The impact of SACs microenvironmental regulation on ENRR is highlighted. Finally, further research directions for SACs in ENRR are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

223. Study on selective emitter fabrication through an innovative pre‐diffusion process for enhanced efficiency in TOPCon solar cells.

Abstract

TOPCon (tunnel oxide passivated contact) solar cell is the mainstream high‐efficiency crystalline silicon solar cell structure. However, the lack of efficient passivation contact mechanisms on the front surface restricts the electrical performance ability to improve further. Selective emitter (SE) technology, considered a potential solution, needs to be more mature. This work provides a unique thermal pre‐diffusion approach combined with laser treatment and post‐oxidation annealing to create SE structures in TOPCon solar cells. Times for the high‐temperature process are equivalent to those for a traditional homogenous emitter. The innovative thermal pre‐diffusion process created a unique boron doping profile, achieving a high surface concentration of nearly 1 × 1020 cm−3 with a shallow junction depth of approximately 0.25 μm. Laser treatment further activated boron and facilitated its diffusion, influenced by the boron silicate glass layer and surface boron atoms. Adjustments were made to improve the pre‐diffusion recipe, including an additional boron deposition step, increasing non‐activated boron atoms. Introducing larger pyramidal microstructures also improved the junction depth and surface concentration in the heavily doped region. Compared to homogeneous emitters, the SE structures exhibited lower surface concentration in the lightly doped region, reducing the recombination current density in the passivation region J0,pass values. The SE structures achieved higher junction depths, limiting metal atom diffusion and reducing the current recombination density in the metal contact region J0,metal values. The contact resistivity between metal and silicon was also decreased. Overall, introducing SE structures resulted in a batch‐average efficiency improvement of 0.26%, reaching an average efficiency of 25.22% for TOPCon solar cells, and has industrial mass‐producible. Abstract

In this work, the comparative properties of graphite (GT) and graphene (GE) sheets for use in polymer‐based electromagnetic (EM) shielding materials were explored. To accomplish this, GT and GE were individually combined with polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) as composite films and each was later attached to a nonwoven fabric to produce nonwoven‐reinforced (NR) films. The microtopography showed that GT was easily wrapped by the PVDF matrix in the composite film, whereas GE was partially exposed on the film surface because of its complete contact with PVDF. Addition of the carbon materials appeared to increase the EM shielding effectiveness (SE) of the films in the X‐band. The SE of the PVDF/GE films was significantly higher than the PVDF/GT films, up to 50.4 dB, which was mainly affected by electronic conductivity. The internal loss of the EM wave in PVDF/GE films was dominated by internal reflection because of the more regular arrangement of GE, whereas the loss in the PVDF/GT films contained greater EM absorption. Although the SE at 1–18 GHz of NR PVDF/GT film was significantly lower than the NR PVDF/GE film, the internal loss at high frequency was higher due to the better absorption loss in its surface layer.
