In this paper, we deal with the extinction of solutions of the initial–boundary value problem of the p-Laplacian equation u t = div ( | ∇ u | p − 2 ∇ u ) + λ u q in a bounded domain of R N with N ≥ 2 . For 1 p 2 , we show that q = p − 1 is the critical exponent of extinction for the weak solution. Furthermore, for 1 p 2 and q = p − 1 we prove that the extinction and non-extinction of the solution depends strongly on the first eigenvalue of the problem − div ( | ∇ ϕ | p − 2 ∇ ϕ ) = λ | ϕ | p − 2 ϕ , in Ω ; ϕ | ∂ Ω = 0 .

This paper deals with Cauchy problem for a degenerate equation with variable coefficient and absorption. We show that the solution to the Cauchy problem possesses the property that the interfaces globally exist or disappear in finite time depending on the behavior of the coefficient at infinity.

To ensure the safety of buildings surrounding foundation pits, a study was made on a settlement monitoring and trend prediction method. A statistical testing method for analyzing the stability of a settlement monitoring datum has been discussed. According to a comprehensive survey, data of 16 stages at operating control point, were verified by a standard t test to determine the stability of the operating control point. A stationary auto-regression model, AR(p), used for the observation point settlement prediction has been investigated. Given the 16 stages of the settlement data at an observation point, the applicability of this model was analyzed. Settlement of last four stages was predicted using the stationary auto-regression model AR (1); the maximum difference between predicted and measured values was 0.6 mm, indicating good prediction results of the model. Hence, this model can be applied to settlement predictions for buildings surrounding foundation pits.

To explore the effects and mechanisms of GSK126, a novel inhibitor of histone methyltransferase enhancer of zeste homologue 2, on cancer cell migration. Gastric cancer cell line MGC803 and human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 were treated with GSK126 at three doses. Transwell and wound healing assays were conducted to detect cell migration. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells tube formation assay and chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane assay were performed to assess the effects of GSK126 on angiogenesis in vitro and in vivo, respectively. The mRNA level of VEGF-A was detected by quantitative PCR, and the protein levels of VEGF-A were detected both by western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry. Epi-fluorescent intensity was obtained by in vivo imaging. GSK126 inhibited cell migration in both MGC803 and A549 in a dose-dependent manner, as revealed by transwell and wound healing assays. The effects of GSK 126 were similar to those of gefitinib at the same doses. Moreover, GSK126 at doses of 20 and 50 µM inhibited angiogenesis both in vitro and in vivo. GSK126 reduced both the mRNA and protein expression of VEGF-A in a dose-dependent manner. Finally, in vivo imaging assay revealed that GSK126 at 200 mg/kg significantly inhibited cancer cell migration. GSK126 inhibits cell migration and angiogenesis in solid tumor cell lines through down-regulation of VEGF-A expression. Thus, it may be considered as a novel anticancer drug candidate for solid tumor.

The physical-layer network coding (PNC) becomes a popular research topic, and the multiuser PNC network is still an open issue. This paper investigates the uniquely-decodable codes (UDC) by using Iterative construction algorithm, and applies the generated UDC to the multiuser PNC network that based on amplify-and- forward (AF) criterion. Due to the attractive features of UDC, the sum data rate can increase with the number of users log-linearly. Moreover, only two time slots are needed for any user node to obtain the data sequences transmitted by an arbitrary user, no matter of the users' number. It is also illustrated that the theoretical bit error rate (BER) of the proposed scheme, which can compare with the traditional PNC scheme in both simulated and theoretical results.

The escape rate of atmospheric molecules on the Moon is calculated. Based on the assumption that the rates of emission and escape of gases attain equilibrium, the ratio of molecular number densities during day and night, n0d/n0n, can be explained. The plausible emission rate of helium and radioactive elements present in the Moon has also been calculated.

Paclitaxel (PTX, taxol), a classical antitumor drug against a wide range of tumors, shows poor oral bioavailability. In order to improve the oral bioavailability of PTX, glycyrrhizic acid (GA) was used as the carrier in this study. This was the first report on the preparation, characterization and the pharmacokinetic study in rats of PTX-loaded GA micelles The PTX-loaded micelles, prepared with ultrasonic dispersion method, displayed small particle sizes and spherical shapes. Differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) thermograms indicated that PTX was entrapped in the GA micelles and existed as an amorphous state. The encapsulation efficiency was about 90%, and the drug loading rate could reach up to 7.90%. PTX-loaded GA micelles displayed a delayed drug release compared to Taxol in the in vitro release experiment. In pharmacokinetic study via oral administration, the area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC0→24 h) of PTX-loaded GA micelles was about six times higher than that of Taxol (p &lt, 0.05). The significant oral absorption enhancement of PTX from PTX-loaded GA micelles could be largely due to the increased absorption in jejunum and colon intestine. All these results suggested that GA would be a promising carrier for the oral delivery of PTX.

To observe the seasonal changes in serum levels of interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and melatonin (MT) in Bizheng rat model, and explore the relationship between MT and the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis.One hundred and sixty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups in summer (n=80) and winter (n=80) respectively: normal group, collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) model group, operation group, and sham-operation group (n=20 in each group). The CIA model group was injected with collagen emulsion at the base of the tail to induce arthritis. The rats in the operation group received pineal gland resection, and 7 days after the first operation, underwent testectomy or oophorectomy. The rats in the sham-operation group were operated to ligature the sagittal sinus, without extracting the pineal gland. After the operations, the operation group and the sham-operation group both were immunized as the CIA group was. The serum levels of IL-1β, IL-6 and MT in different groups were measured by radioimmunoassay.Compared with the normal group, the serum levels of IL-1β and IL-6 increased in the CIA model, operation, and sham-operation groups both in summer and in winter (IL-1β in summer, P=0.008, P0.01, P=0.012; IL-1β in winter, P=0.019, P0.01, P=0.027; IL-6 in summer, P=0.028, P0.01, P=0.024; IL-6 in winter, P=0.006, P0.01, P=0.008). In the operation group, the serum levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in winter were higher than in summer, but with no statistically significant differences (P=0.844, 0.679). Compared with the normal group, the serum level of MT significantly increased in summer and winter in both the CIA model group (P=0.002, 0.008) and the sham-operation group (P=0.003, 0.007), while significantly decreased in the operation group (P=0.023, 0.003). There was no significant difference in MT level in the operation group between summer and winter (P=0.947).The increase of serum levels of IL-1β and IL-6 may exacerbate the inflammatory reaction and cause a more severe condition in the rheumatoid arthritis. The concentrations of IL-1β, IL-6, and MT correspond with the change of seasons, confirming that there are connections between nature and human body.

Interaction between hydrogen molecules and functionalized C60 is investigated using density functional theory method. Unlike transition metal atoms that tend to cluster on the surface, C60 decorated with 12 Yttrium atoms on each of its 12 pentagons is extremely stable and remarkably enhances the hydrogen adsorption capacity. Four H2 molecules can be chemisorbed on a single Y atom through well-known Dewar-Chatt-Duncanson interaction. The nature of bonding is a weak physisorption for the fifth adsorbed H2 molecule. Consequently, the C60Y12 complex with 60 hydrogen molecules has been demonstrated to lead to a hydrogen storage capacity of ∼6.30 wt. %.

Strain glass transition is a unique nanoscale displacive transition with local symmetry breaking while maintaining the macroscopic symmetry or average structure unchanged. It usually occurs in the "nonmartensitic" composition range of a martensitic system. So far, only indirect evidence exists for such a transition, essentially from macroscopic measurements and low-resolution transmission electron microscopy observations, and there is a lack of direct evidence for the speculated local symmetry breaking and the sluggish nature of the glass transition. In this Letter we report in situ high-resolution transmission electron microscopy observations on a Ti50(Pd41Cr9) strain glass alloy and direct evidence for these key issues. Our results show that at temperatures well above the strain glass transition temperature (Tg), the lattice is essentially an undistorted B2 structure. With approaching Tg, the local symmetry breaking gradually occurs with the formation and growth of nanomartensite clusters with a combined stacking period of three and four plane intervals, but the average structure measured by x-ray diffraction remains B2. These nanomartensite clusters become finally frozen below Tg. Our results provide not only a microscopic basis for the macroscopic properties of strain glass, but also new insights into a range of possible applications of this unique class of materials.

Each CdIIcentre is six-coordinated by four O atoms of bridging/chelating carboxylate groups from threeL2−ligands and by two N atoms from two bpe ligands, forming a distorted octahedron. The CdIIcations are bridged byL2−and bpe ligands to give a two-dimensional (4,4) layer. The layers are interlinked through bridging carboxylate O atoms fromL2−ligands, generating a two-dimensional bilayered structure with a 3641362topology. The bilayered structures are further extended to form a three-dimensional supramolecular architectureviaa combination of hydrogen-bonding and aromatic stacking interactions.

This paper presents a master-slave hot-line robot working in high voltage for cleaning insulators. Compared with existing cleaning robots, this robot mechanism is superior in insulation as it uses a series of insulation methods, such as the crank arm insulative elevating mechanism, insulative hydraulic system, master-slave control, optical fiber and ZigBee communication, to ensure the safety of robot and the operator, and is more useful in mountainous or salt damage areas by adopting a crawler chassis. In addition, instead of working on the higher levels, the operator manipulates master hand in the cab to avoid happening electric shock. Moreover, we confirmed its effectiveness through practical application.

This paper presents a novel wearable navigation system for the blind and visually impaired in unknown dynamic environments. Usually, feature-based visual navigation and 3D reconstruction works very well for static environments. In this paper, a dynamic environment is considered, where a moving object is viewed by a moving monocular camera with inertial sensors. A novel method based on feature points from a video sequence is proposed to not only estimate the camera motion itself but also the 3D motion of the moving object so as to infer the depth between the camera and the moving object. Firstly, this video sequence is segmented into static and dynamic areas by two geometry constraints: AGOF-aided homography recovery constraint and epipolar geometry constraint, which is the first key contribution of this paper. Then the motion area related to each moving object can be considered as if a static object were viewed by a “virtual camera”, while the extracted features from the static background are used for estimating the motion of the “real camera”, compared with the “virtual camera”. The second key contribution is to solve the problem of scale ambiguity in monocular camera tracking. The scale is firstly adjusted to be global using a closed form solution with 1-point algorithm and then estimated in metric unit with the help of inertial measurements. After obtaining the motions for the real and virtual camera, the third key contribution is that the 3D moving object's motion can be derived from these two motions, because the virtual camera's motion is actually the combined motion of both the real camera and the moving object. As a result, blind people can avoid collision with moving objects. Finally, we demonstrate the robustness and effectiveness of our proposed method using a series of experimental results.

Robust navigation for mobile robots requires an accurate method for tracking the robot position in the environment. This paper presents a simple and novel visual-inertial integration system suitable for unstructured and unprepared indoor environments, where MARG (Magnet, Angular Rate and Gravity) sensors and a monocular camera are used. The pre-estimated orientation from MARG sensors, is used to estimate the translation based on the data from the visual and inertial sensors. This has a significant effect on the performance of the fusion sensing strategy and makes the fusion procedure much easier, because the gravitational acceleration can be correctly removed from the accelerometer measurements before the fusion procedure, where a linear Kalman Filter is selected as the fusion estimator. the use of pre-estimated orientation can help to eliminate erroneous point matches based on the properties of the pure camera translation and thus the computational requirements can be significantly reduced compared to the RANSAC (RANdom SAmple Consensus) algorithm. In addition, an adaptive-frame-rate single camera is selected to not only avoid motion blur based on the angular velocity and acceleration after compensation but also to make an effect called visual zero-velocity update for the static motion. Thus, it can recover a more accurate baseline and meanwhile reduce the computational requirements. In particular, an absolute scale factor, which is usually lost in monocular camera tracking, can be obtained by introducing it into the estimator. Simulation and experimental results are presented for different environments with different types of movement and the results from a Pioneer robot are used to demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed method.

Through the system teachers can involve in the E-Learning process of students directly. They can also obtain all the data of students-E-Learning through the database. The system provides teachers the data after systematical statistical analysis. These data can be used as main basis of summative evaluation of students-E-Learning, especially of the process evaluation. The use of monitoring system significantly improve the learning effect of those students with poor learning consciousness.

Under the background of mathematics education reform, we put a new teaching mode into practice-the teaching mode of university mathematics integrated into mathematics experiment. And we devote ourselves to the research on the teaching quality evaluation of the new teaching mode. Using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) combined with questionnaire survey statistics data, we study quantitatively the teaching quality of the new mathematics teaching mode and the traditional mathematics teaching mode. We establish a mathematical model and calculate by using the mathematics software MATLAB. Finally we get that the new mathematics teaching mode is superior to the traditional mathematics teaching mode and we give some suggestions on the implementation of the new teaching mode.

The transition to chaos as the development of global nonintegrability in a three-level Lipkin model is investigated numerically. With effective Hamiltonians for different energy regions it is possible to study local statistical behaviors of the system in the corresponding energy regions. Behaviors of its classical counterparts are also given for comparison. The dynamical origin of statistical properties of effective Hamiltonian matrices is qualitatively explained. The question of what are the members of the Gaussian orthogonal ensemble is also discussed.

To compare the response, survival, hematological and non-hematological toxicities of gemcitabine administrated at fixed-dose rate infusion (10 mg/m2/min, FDR) and standard 30 min infusion in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Electronic databases of MEDLINE, EMBASE and Cochrane Library were searched using key words of “gemcitabine,” “fixed-dose rate,” “non-small-cell lung cancer” and their alternative spellings. An expanded search of references of relative articles was also performed. The last search was performed on September 10, 2012. Primary endpoints were overall survival rate (ORR) and 1-year survival rate (1-year SR); hematological and non-hematological toxicities were secondary endpoints. Six randomized controlled trials, involving 867 patients, met our inclusion criteria and were analyzed. Pooled results showed that FDR infusion of gemcitabine had an equal ORR (RR = 0.91, 95 % CI: 0.74–1.13; heterogeneity p = 0.39) and 1-year SR (RR = 1.09, 95 % CI: 0.93–1.29; heterogeneity p = 0.75) compared with standard infusion. Subgroup analysis found that chemotherapy drug combinations do not affect the results of ORR or 1-year SR. Patients received FDR infusion, however, experienced more grade 3/4 hematological (neutropenia, leukopenia and anemia) and non-hematological (diarrhea and fatigue) toxicities. This meta-analysis found that FDR infusion of gemcitabine had equal ORR and 1-year SR with standard infusion in patients with advanced NSCLC, while FDR infusion was associated with more grade 3/4 hematological and non-hematological toxicities.

The vehicle information detected by monitoring node is not consistent with the one in databases sometimes in the vehicle management. On the other hand, different monitor nodes may detect the same car-logo, in the case of which it is a fake one. This is harmful to the daily highway orders. The paper integrated the vehicle detection and recognition with the cloud-computing in public security service of China. A cloud computing platform built upon the police network is able to provide the monitoring nodes all over the country with supercomputing and storing services. Therefore, it can achieve automatic detection, which is pratically helpful to maintain the daily highway orders.

The integrability of quantum systems is characterized by the algebraic notion of dynamical symmetry, hence the nonintegrability of quantum systems should be discussed topologically in reference to corresponding integrable ones. A topological approach is proposed. The topological map in general is shown to be constituted of the piecewise diffeomorphic maps interrupted by sudden nondiffeomorphic maps and thus has the similar typical feature of stretching-folding-stretching......as the Smale horseshoe map.

We performed a genome-wide association study of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) by genotyping 1,077 individuals with ESCC and 1,733 control subjects of Chinese Han descent. We selected 18 promising SNPs for replication in an additional 7,673 cases of ESCC and 11,013 control subjects of Chinese Han descent and 303 cases of ESCC and 537 control subjects of Chinese Uygur-Kazakh descent. We identified two previously unknown susceptibility loci for ESCC: PLCE1 at 10q23 (P(Han combined for ESCC) = 7.46 x 10(-56), odds ratio (OR) = 1.43; P(Uygur-Kazakh for ESCC) = 5.70 x 10(-4), OR = 1.53) and C20orf54 at 20p13 (P(Han combined for ESCC) = 1.21 x 10(-11), OR = 0.86; P(Uygur-Kazakh for ESCC) = 7.88 x 10(-3), OR = 0.66). We also confirmed association in 2,766 cases of gastric cardia adenocarcinoma cases and the same 11,013 control subjects (PLCE1, P(Han for GCA) = 1.74 x 10(-39), OR = 1.55 and C20orf54, P(Han for GCA) = 3.02 x 10(-3), OR = 0.91). PLCE1 and C20orf54 have important biological implications for both ESCC and GCA. PLCE1 might regulate cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis and angiogenesis. C20orf54 is responsible for transporting riboflavin, and deficiency of riboflavin has been documented as a risk factor for ESCC and GCA.

Feature detection is an important part in robot visual servo research. The traditional method is search the target on the whole image space, which leads to bad real-time performance as the large amounts of calculation. To solve the problem a prediction approach based on Kalman Filter is present. The global search can be converted to local search by forecasting the target position. Simulation results indicate that the method is an effective one and it has a high accuracy.

In order to have a complete description of the spatio-temporal evolution of a quantum state, the initial state should be properly specified as the coherent state corresponding to a definite dynamical symmetry. Then we have qualitatively different situations where the initial coherent state evolves under the action of a system having or not having the same dynamical symmetry. In the former case, we have regular motion with the general character which tends to that of the corresponding classical case in the limit → 0. While in the latter case, we may have energy regions of global stochasticity with characters closely related to the initial dynamical symmetry strongly violated.

A topological approach to the study of global stationary property of quantum systems is carefully formulated. Particular attentions are paid to basic notions such as homeomorphic map, topological-structure-preserving (TSP) map, and bifurcation due to local destruction of the TSP condition.

The basic problem of quantum integrability has been systematically studied with an algebraic approach. With the introduction of the dynamical symmetry algebra the difficulty in transferring the classical integrability condition into quantum mechanics is resolved. Using the superconvergent technique of Kolmogorov, it has been proved that systems with Hamiltonians expressed merely with elements of a definite dynamical symmetry algebra form an integrable class of systems corresponding to that dynamical symmetry.

Facing to the characters of railway transport industry, parameters of railway freight market customer subdivision were presented; clustering model K-Means was established for market subdivision. The algorithm of K-Means was modified by using square error and objective function. Actual experiment of railway transport market subdivision is done based on Clementine 8.0 platform, and the features of various submarkets acquired form the experiment was analyzed and described.

One can easily understand the transition from special relativity to Newton mechanics under the condition of v/c 1. But it is not so easy to understand the transition from quantum representation to classical representation from the point of view of wave mechanics. We define such a quantum state as near classical state (NCS), in which the mean value of coordinates equals the classical solution on a macroscopic scale. We take the NCS for three-dimensional isotropic harmonic oscillator in a spherical coordinate system for example. We take and choose cnl =(1/(2N+1))(1/(2lM+1)). The mean values of coordinates are r2 =(Ecl)/(2)(1+1-((2Lcl2)/(Ecl2)cos(2t)) and tg = (Ecl/lcl)[1-1-((Lcl)/(Ecl)2]tg(t)) in this NCS, which are in agreement with the classical solution on a macroscopic scale, where N/N1, lM/lM1. N and lM are determined by the macroscopic state. N =[(Ecl)/(ħ)], Ecl = 1/22(a2+ b2) , lM= [Lcl}/ħ], and Lcl = ab. Here , Ecl and Lcl respectively denote the mass, the energy and the angular momentum of harmonic oscillator. And the bracket [c] means taking the integer part of the number c, for example [2.78]=2. It is also emphasized that for a definite macro state, there are many NCS corresponding to a macro state; just like the case in statistical physics, many micro dynamical states correspond to a macro thermodynamic state. Thus the transition from quantum representation to classical representation is a coarse-graining process and also an information losing process.

The present paper reports the determination of mineral elements by FAAS, including K, Ca, Na, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn and Cu. The best condition for the determination was investigated. The best ionization inhibitor and acidity media were confirmed. The experiment used CsCl to prevent ionization interference, and the concentration of HCl was controlled below 2%. At the same time SrCl prevented interference of P to Ca. So the value of absorbance was stable. The results were obtained by calibration curve method. The analysis method is simple, rapid, accurate and fitting to the determination of mineral elements in plants. The recoveries of the method are 90.5%-108.2%. The relative standard deviations are 0.3%-0.7%. The result show that large amounts of mineral elements are embodied in polygonum cuspidatum. The contents of K and Ca are in conformation with the medical effects of polygonum cuspidatum, and each element is related closely to its growing.

In this paper we show how to define the UV completion of a scalar field theory such that it is both UV-finite and perturbatively unitary. In the UV completed theory, the propagator is an infinite sum of ordinary propagators. To eliminate the UV divergences, we choose the coefficients and masses in the propagator to satisfy certain algebraic relations, and define the infinite sums involved in Feynman diagram calculation by analytic continuation. Unitarity can be proved relatively easily by Cutkosky's rules. The theory is equivalent to infinitely many particles with specific masses and interactions. Background: The therapeutic strategy by incorporating new agents into existing treatment regimens is a current challenge in rectal cancer (CRC) treatment. Strategies that target key signaling pathways offer great potential and two validated therapeutic targets are VEGF and EGF and their receptors. To study the potential therapeutic efficacy of rectal cancer treatments, here, we developed a new kind of herbal extract combinations (FUO-C4) from Lonicera japonica, Herba Agrimonia, Herba Scutellariae Barbatae, Astragalus membranaceus and Saussurea costus etc, which had an inhibitory potential effective on cancer growth and angiogenesis. Methods: We evaluated the extent to which FUO-C4 could inhibit tumor growth using CT26 in vivo xenograft model of rectal cancer. Tumor volume and weight, microvessel density (MVD), VEGFR/EGFR expression by immunohistochemistry, apoptosis by tunnel assay and toxicity on liver, kidney function and hematology were measured. Results: In vivo, FUO-C4 (at 20mg/g body weight), which was given by gavage in mice after tumor inoculation, significantly decreased the volume of rectal cancer xenografts.
