The use of fossil fuels has resulted in environmental pollution and global warming, and traditional porous carbon preparation methods have further exacerbated these issues. Lignin is the most abundant natural aromatic polymer and a good biomass carbon source. Substituting lignin for traditional chemical raw materials to prepare carbon materials can greatly reduce dependence on fossil resources. This paper summarizes the latest progress in the preparation and modification of lignin-based porous carbon (LBPC) and aims to promote its application in various fields. Abstract Background Reduced expression of tripartite motif-containing 3 (TRIM3) has been reported to be involved in the pathogenesis of human glioblastoma. In our previous research, we found that TRIM3 expression was markedly reduced in human primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues and that low TRIM3 expression was associated with short survival of HCC patients. However, the role of TRIM3 in liver cancer remains unknown. This study aimed to investigate the function of TRIM3 in liver cancer cells. Methods The protein levels of TRIM3 in five liver cancer cell lines (SK-Hep1, Hep3B, Huh7, HepG2, Bel-7402) and one normal liver cell line (L02) were detected with Western blotting. HepG2 and Bel-7402 cells with low TRIM3 expression were infected with recombinant lentiviruses overexpressing TRIM3 (LV-TRIM3), whereas Huh7 and Hep3B cells with high TRIM3 expression were transfected with TRIM3-targeted small interfering RNA (siTRIM3). The functions of TRIM3 in the proliferation, colony formation, cell cycle, migration, invasion, and apoptosis of the above cell lines were examined. The effect of TRIM3 on tumor growth and metastases in nude mice was also investigated. Results TRIM3 was overexpressed in HepG2 and Bel-7402 cells with LV-TRIM3 infection, which further reduced proliferation, colony formation, migration, and invasion of both cell lines. Cell cycle analysis showed that TRIM3 overexpression induced G0/G1 phase arrest in HepG2 and Bel-7402 cells. Moreover, apoptosis was not increased in HepG2 or Bel-7402 cells overexpressing TRIM3. Contrarily, silencing TRIM3 expression in Huh7 and Hep3B cells by siTRIM3 led to significantly decreased percentages of both cells in the G0/G1 phase and promoted cell proliferation, colony formation, migration, and invasion. In vivo experiment results confirmed that TRIM3 overexpression suppressed tumor growth and metastasis. Conclusions TRIM3 plays a tumor-suppressing role in the regulation of liver cancer development by reducing cell proliferation through cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase.

A new series of 3-substituted 4-methylene-quinazolinthiones and 4-methylene-quinazolinones were synthesized in moderate to excellent yield through a simple reaction of 2-aminoacetophenones with isocyanates or isothiocyanates. The reaction shows good tolerance of many important functional groups in the presence of air and water under metal-free conditions. Only water is produced as a coproduct, rendering this “green” methodology a highly versatile and eco-friendly alternative to the existing methods for the construction of the quinazolinone/quinazolinthione framework. We have interpreted the reaction mechanism by use of quantum chemical calculations on the basis of state-of-the-art computational methods SMD-B3LYP-D3(BJ)/BS1//B3LYP/BS1.

In the social internet of things, community structure exists objectively and affects the transmission of network messages. If the social context such as community is fully utilized, the efficiency of data forwarding will be effectively improved. A community-based routing algorithm (MSAR) is proposed by studying the multiple social relationships. First, we propose four measures of social relationships. They are social closeness degree, in-community activeness, cross-community activeness and community interaction. Then, the design of routing algorithm considers two stages. One is in-community forwarding and the other is cross-community forwarding. The measurement of node forwarding capability depends on closeness degree and in-community activeness in the in-community forwarding stage. In the cross-community stage, the measurement of node forwarding capability depends on closeness degree, cross-community activeness and community interaction. The relay node with higher cross-community forwarding utility will be selected. This prevents messages from being limited to the local community. Therefore, messages can always travel in the direction of the destination node's community. Finally, a lot of simulation experiments and analyses are carried out. Trichloroethylene (TCE) is a metal detergent commonly used in industry that can enter the human body through the respiratory tract and skin, causing occupational medicamentosa-like dermatitis due to TCE (OMDT) and multiple organ damage, including liver failure. However, the pathogenesis of liver injury remains unclear. Kupffer cells (KCs) are important tissue macrophages in the body because the polarization of KCs plays a crucial role in immune-mediated liver injury. However, the mechanism of KCs polarization in TCE-induced immune liver injury has not been thoroughly elucidated. In this study, we investigated the effect of TCE-induced KCs polarization on liver function and signal transduction pathways using the TCE sensitization model developed by our group. BALB/c mouse skin was exposed to TCE for sensitization, and an increase in the expression of M1 macrophage-specific markers (CD16/CD32, iNOS), M1 macrophage-specific cytokines IL-1β, and IFN-γ, P-JAK-1 and P-STAT1 levels were also found to be dramatically increased. When using low doses of gadolinium trichloride (GdCl3), the expression of these proteins and mRNA was significantly reduced. This phenomenon indicates that GdCl3 blocks TCE-induced polarization of KCs and suggests that the IFN-γ/STAT1 signaling pathway may be involved in the polarization process of KCs. These findings clarify the relationship between the polarization of KCs and immune liver injury and highlight the importance of further study of immune-mediated liver injury in TCE-sensitized mice.
