In NH3 capture technologies, the desorption process is usually driven by high temperature and low pressure (such as 150–200 °C under vacuum), which accounts for intensive energy consumption and CO2 emission. Developing light responsive adsorbent is promising in this regard but remains a great challenge. Here, we for the first time designed and synthesized a light responsive azophenol‐containing covalent organic framework (COF), COF‐HNU38, to address this challenge. We found that at 25 °C and 1.0 bar, the cis ‐COF exhibited a NH3 uptake capacity of 7.7 mmol g−1 and a NH3/N2 selectivity of 158. In the adsorbed NH3, about 29.0 % could be removed by vis‐light irradiated cis‐trans isomerization at 25 °C, and the remaining NH3 might be released at 25 °C under vacuum. Almost no decrease in adsorption capacity was observed after eight adsorption‐desorption cycles. As such, an efficient NH3 capture and low energy release strategy was established thanks to the multiple hydrogen bond interactions (which are strong in total but weak in individuals) between NH3 and the smart COF, as well as the increased polarity and number of hydrogen bond sites after the trans‐cis isomerization. A series of emission control measures implemented by the Chinese government have effectively reduced air pollution by multiple pollutants in many regions of the country in recent decades. However, the impacts of these control measures on environmental persistent free radicals (EPFRs) and reactive oxygen species (ROSs), the two groups of chemical species that are known to be linked with adverse human health effects, are still not clear. In this study, we investigated the levels, patterns, and sources of EPFRs and gas- and particle-phase ROSs (referred to as G-ROSs and P-ROSs, respectively) in Beijing during the 2015 China Victory Day Parade period when short-term air quality control measures were imposed. EPFRs in the non-control period (NCP) tended to be radicals centered on a mixture of carbon and oxygen, while those in the control period (CP) were mainly oxygen-centered free radicals. The contribution of G-ROSs to the atmospheric oxidizing capacity increased, and that of P-ROSs decreased during the CP compared to the NCP. The strict control measures reduced ambient EPFRs, G-ROSs, and P-ROSs by 18.3 %, 24.1 %, and 46.9 %, respectively; these amounts were smaller than the decreases in most other measured pollutants. Although particle-matter-based air quality control measures have performed well in achieving "Parade Blue", it is difficult to simultaneously reduce the negative impacts of the atmosphere on human health. The Parade Blue days were largely attributed to the dramatic reduction in secondary aerosols, which were also largely responsible for EPFR and ROS reductions. Compared to the cases during the NCP, the source-sector-based concentrations of PM 2.5 , EPFRs, G-ROSs, and P-ROSs during the CP were reduced by 78.7 %–80.8 % when coming from secondary aerosols, by 59.3 %–65.0 % when coming from dust sources, by 65.3 %–67.0 % when coming from industrial emissions, and by 32.6 %–43.8 % when coming from vehicle emissions, while concentrations from other sources increased by 1.61 %–71.5 %. Vehicle emissions and other sources may play complex roles in air quality and public health. This insight will prompt policymakers to reevaluate current air quality management strategies to more effectively address the challenges posed by pollutants such as EPFRs and ROSs. In order to help users in the textile industry to fully understand USTER Statistics, the USTER Statistics 2023 was interpretated. The concept, history, source of samples of USTER Statistics were introduced. Its scope, percentile curve, application of interactive table and form of publication were explained. The new changes in USTER Statistics 2023 which included the expansion of fiber quality and the quality data of recycled yarn were interpreted. Finally, from the fiber indexes change and fiber indexes change during processing and the change of yarn indexes, the change trend of cotton fiber and yarn quality in the world were analyzed. It is considered that the correct use of the USTER Statistics can help different users of textile enterprises accurately defining yarn quality specifications with a common quality language, promote production process improvement and the realization of key quality performance. The main functions and application effects of USTER Quality Expert System were described. The composition and operation mechanism of USTER Quality Expert System were introduced. Five modules of USTER Quality Expert System, such as alarm center, factory analysis, yarn prediction, ring spinning optimization and total foreign fiber control, were described in detail. Practical application effects were illustrated by examples. Practice proved that USTER Quality Expert System could quickly and effectively collect all online and offline quality data for accurate and efficient quality management. It is considered that the USTER quality expert system, combined with online equipment and laboratory testing instruments, has greatly changed the way of quality management, which is conducive to reducing labor cost while improving product quality, and provides a new intelligent solution for the spinning mill to realize the total quality management from fiber to fabric. Melatonin and abscisic acid, as major plant hormones, play important roles in the physiological and biochemical activities of crops, but the interaction between the two under salt stress is not yet clear. This study investigated the endogenous levels of melatonin and abscisic acid in rice by using exogenous melatonin, abscisic acid, and their synthetic inhibitors, and examined their interactions under salt stress. The research results indicate that melatonin and abscisic acid can improve rice salt tolerance. Melatonin alleviated the salt sensitivity caused by abscisic acid deficiency, increased antioxidant enzyme activity and antioxidant content in rice treated with abscisic acid synthesis inhibitors, and reduced total reactive oxygen species content and thiobarbituric acid reactive substance accumulation. Melatonin also increased the activity of key photosynthetic enzymes and the content of photosynthetic pigments, maintaining the parameters of photosynthetic gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence. In summary, melatonin alleviated the effects of abscisic acid deficiency on photosynthesis and antioxidant systems in rice and improved salt tolerance. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) are a class of nucleotide sequences that cannot be translated into peptides. ncRNAs can function post-transcriptionally by splicing complementary sequences of mRNAs or other ncRNAs or by directly engaging in protein interactions. Over the past few decades, the pervasiveness of ncRNAs in cell physiology and their pivotal roles in various diseases have been identified. One target regulated by ncRNAs is connexin (Cx), a protein that forms gap junctions and hemichannels and facilitates intercellular molecule exchange. The aberrant expression and misdistribution of connexins have been implicated in central nervous system diseases, cardiovascular diseases, bone diseases, and cancer. Current databases and technologies have enabled researchers to identify the direct or indirect relationships between ncRNAs and connexins, thereby elucidating their correlation with diseases. In this review, we selected the literature published in the past five years concerning disorders regulated by ncRNAs via corresponding connexins. Among it, microRNAs that regulate the expression of Cx43 play a crucial role in disease development and are predominantly reviewed. The distinctive perspective of the ncRNA–Cx axis interprets pathology in an epigenetic manner and is expected to motivate research for the development of biomarkers and therapeutics.
