224. Self-Powered Solar-Blind Photodetector with Fast Response Based on Au/β-Ga2O3Nanowires Array Film Schottky Junction

Abstract

Because of the direct band gap of 4.9 eV, β-Ga2O3has been considered as an ideal material for solar-blind photodetection without any bandgap tuning. Practical applications of the photodetectors require fast response speed, high signal-to-noise ratio, low energy consumption and low fabrication cost. Unfortunately, most reported β-Ga2O3-based photodetectors usually possess a relatively long response time. In addition, the β-Ga2O3photodetectors based on bulk, the individual 1D nanostructure, and the film often suffer from the high cost, the low repeatability, and the relatively large dark current, respectively. In this paper, a Au/β-Ga2O3nanowires array film vertical Schottky photodiode is successfully fabricated by a simple thermal partial oxidation process. The device exhibits a very low dark current of 10 pA at −30 V with a sharp cutoff at 270 nm. More interestingly, the 90–10% decay time of our device is only around 64 μs, which is much quicker than any other previously reported β-Ga2O3-based photodetectors. Besides, the self-powering, the excellent stability and the good reproducibility of Au/β-Ga2O3nanowires array film photodetector are helpful to its commercialization and practical applications.

225. Facile synthesis of a continuous thin Cu(bipy)2(SiF6) membrane with selectivity towards hydrogen.

Abstract

Cu(bipy)2(SiF6) is a highly porous metal–organic framework (MOF) and represents a prototypal “pillared sheet” platform offering opportunities to control the pore sizes. Its structural features, low cost and facile synthesis make it a great candidate to fabricate membranes for gas separation. The key to obtaining thin, continuous Cu(bipy)2(SiF6) membranes is to control the Cu(bipy)2(SiF6) crystal growth and enhance the binding between membrane and substrate. Here we explored a new route by direct synthesis and successfully obtained a continuous thin Cu(bipy)2(SiF6) membrane on a macroporous glass-frit disk with high robustness. It is speculated that the SiF62− used to construct the Cu(bipy)2(SiF6) membrane came from the fluorinated substrate. The Cu(bipy)2(SiF6) membrane shows the separation factors of H2–CO2, H2–CH4 and H2–N2 are 8.0, 7.5, and 6.8 respectively at 293 K and 1 bar with H2 permeance of 2.7 × 10−7 mol m−2 s−1 Pa−1 as well as high thermal stability. We expect to explore more membranes of Cu(bipy)2(SiF6) analogues with tuneable pore sizes using this route and to obtain membranes with higher gas separation performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Abstract: A six-dimensional state-to-state quantum dynamics study is carried out for the prototypical complex-formation OH+CO→H+CO2 reaction from the ground and two vibrationally excited initial states on the Lakin–Troya–Schatz–Harding potential energy surface for the total angular momentum J =0, using the multiple-step reactant–product decoupling method. With three heavy atoms and deep wells on the reaction path, the reaction represents a huge challenge for accurate quantum dynamics study. The effects of reagent vibrational excitation on product CO2 vibrational state distributions and product energy partition were investigated for reagents in the ground rotational state. It is found that the initial CO vibrational excitation essentially has the same effect on the product energy partition as the reagent translational excitation, while the initial OH excitation leads to slightly more internal energy in CO2. The optical properties of BiI3 nanocrystallites have been investigated by Raman scattering, far infrared spectrum and UV–vis absorption at room temperature. The Raman and far infrared spectrum of the BiI3 nanocrystallites have a shift in comparison with that of the BiI3 single crystals. The shift is mainly attributed to nanosize effect. The optical property of SnS2 nanocrystallites has been investigated by Raman scattering, far infrared spectrum and photoluminescence at room temperature. The intralayer and interlayer force constant of SnS2 nanocrystallites have been calculated by using a linear chain model.
