Objective: To construct pre-hospital nursing intervention algorithms for trauma victims. Methodology: Literature Narrative Review, between 2008 and 2019, in the main databases. Two independent reviewers carried out the critical evaluation, extraction and synthesis of data. The construction of the algorithms resulted from the interpretive process of the narrative review by three experts. The theoretical model of Virginia Henderson was used. Results: Seventeen documents were obtained, six were included in the development of the metaparadigm Health, Person and Environment and 16 were included in the development and construction of assessment, diagnosis and nursing interventions algorithms for trauma victims. Nursing has lacked a theoretical model specifically for the specialty of psychiatric nursing and mental health. This lack occurs worldwide, not only in Mexico, and may limit the development of the independent practice of psychiatric nursing. It can also limit the ability of nursing to work in the multidisciplinary team in a joint manner on an equal basis. In the XVI century Mexico had a model of psychiatric nursing of the Brothers of Charity, based on love for neighbor and respect for the person in need of nursing. Currently there is a theoretical model specifically for psychiatric nursing and mental health. The Tidal Model, with its metaphors about life and its crisis as a ship at sea, focuses on respect for the history and experience of the person in need of nursing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To determine the level of uncertainty regarding the disease and the importance of the factors that influence the experience of caregivers of children aged 0 to 14 years hospitalized in neonatal and pediatric ICU. Materials and methods: mixed research, with systematic integration of quantitative and qualitative methods, through the analytical triangulation of the results, the quantitative sample consisted of 285 caregivers of children admitted to the ICU and 10 key informants in the qualitative component. Results: The global uncertainty in the surveyed population was: regular, with 57%, high in 36%, only 7% presented low level; The qualitative categories were: difficult experience, unpredictability, paternal bond, support, quality of attention, spirituality, hope and unique experience. The analytical triangulation showed the applicability of the theoretical postulates in the context. Conclusion: Uncertainty is a unique experience, framed by feelings and emotions generate a new perspective, delineated by factors associated with the state of health, such as: ambiguity, lack of clarity and information about the facts experienced by children. Communication with health personnel is relevant, since it allows the caregiver to develop effective coping strategies, reduce negative feelings, promote links, support and capacity to accept events. Objective: To reflect theoretically on the importance of Peplau's Theory of Interpersonal Relations, contextualized with the process of formation of the nurse's identity as a therapist in mental health and psychiatry. Methodology: From the study of Peplau's work on Interpersonal Relations in Nursing and other texts, the reflection was organized in three axes: the theory of interpersonal relations, the therapeutic relationship in Peplau's theory and the counseling sub-role. Results: The three axes were detailed, combining the contributions of the literature, with new possibilities of application of the theoretical framework. Conclusion: The Theory of Interpersonal Relations focusing on the concept of counseling enables reflections on the representation of nurses as therapists and strengthens nursing actions in the context of mental health care. Background: Postoperative complications can be understood as an ineffective response of the Roy adaptation model to the coping process generated by elective cardiac surgery. Objectives: To identify the complications in the immediate postoperative period of adults and elderly patients submitted to elective cardiac surgery with extracorporeal circulation; To categorize immediate postoperative complications as ineffective responses of the physiological mode of the human adaptive system. Methodology: Retrospective, cross-sectional, exploratory, and descriptive observational study. The immediate postoperative records of 230 patients who underwent surgery with extracorporeal circulation performed between January and December 2013, 2014, and 2015 were analyzed. Results: In the immediate postoperative period, 423 complications were identified, mostly related to fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balance and endocrinal function. Conclusion: The reading of postoperative complications as ineffective adaptive responses extends the need for evaluation and intervention of the nursing team during the postoperative period, ensuring unique disciplinary management. Perinatal death from an institutional view is a matter of difficult confrontation for both, parents who experience the loss, as for the health personnel present at the event. Kristen Swanson theory considers that the goal of nursing is to provide care, for women and her family, significantly to help in the acceptance of the death of a loved one. The support health personnel provide for parents and their family, is significant in the acceptance of the loss and the development of the grieving process. This article tells the experience of a nurse in her interaction with a woman who faced the death of his daughter at the time of birth. Objective: To discuss the applicability of the Nursing Activities Score (NAS) in the light of the Comfort Theory, relating the range of care areas described in this instrument to the comfort contexts proposed in Kolcaba's theory. Methodology: theoretical study, critical analysis, based on the principles of Kolcaba comfort theory. Reflection: the activities evaluated by the NAS are congruent with the contexts of comfort proposed in the Kolcaba theory, and can contribute to the promotion of comfort. It is noted, however, that there are fewer items to evaluate the sociocultural, psycho-spiritual and environmental contexts. Most activities value the organic and biological needs of patients. Considerations: Although the activities of the NAS are consistent with the comfort contexts proposed by Kolcaba, it cannot be said that the care provided will be fully compatible with the theoretical assumptions, requiring further studies for clinical validation. A transição é assumida como uma passagem de um estado, condição ou lugar para outro. Na área da saúde, um exemplo tradicional são as transições de saúde-doença que resultam da mudança de uma situação de saúde ou bem-estar para uma situação de doença aguda ou crónica, ou, pelo contrário, a passagem de uma situação de doença para uma de bem-estar, que pode, contudo, incorporar a cronicidade. Ao longo deste artigo abordamos alguns eventos transicionais do ser humano, ao longo do ciclo vital, com base nos contributos da teoria enunciada por Afaf Meleis, tendo como principal preocupação a distinção entre os vários tipos de transição e dimensões, reafirmando o cuidado transicional como essência da resposta à valorização do ser humano, enquanto fenómeno privilegiado da enfermagem, e para a valorização da natureza da relação enfermeiro-cliente. O artigo tem como objetivo principal analisar a teoria da transição, à luz da transversalidade dos seus conceitos para a prática de enfermagem, regulamentação da profissão e linguagem classificada CIPE®, aplicada a um caso clínico.

O presente artigo propõe uma reflexão acerca do aprendizado da enfermagem, repensando sobre como ele ocorre. O objeto de estudo é a metacognição como prática educativa em enfermagem. Teve-se como objetivo analisar a contribuição da metacognição para o desenvolvimento do processo das práticas pedagógicas em enfermagem. Para tanto, foram consultadas as Filosofias de Patricia Benner e a de Virginia Henderson. Abordou-se a temática da metacognição mediante seu conceito, suas estratégias metacognitivas e relacionando a metacognição e a enfermagem. Concluiu-se que a eficácia da aprendizagem não depende apenas da experiência e do nível intelectual, mas também da aquisição de estratégias cognitivas e metacognitivas que possibilitem ao aluno planejar e monitorar o seu desempenho, permitindo a tomada de consciência dos processos que utiliza para aprender. É preciso aprender como fazer para aprender. ABSTRACT This article examines the learning of nursing, to rethink how it takes place. The study object is metacognition as an educational practice in nursing. The intention was to analyze how metacognition contributes to the educational process in nursing. To that end, the philosophies of Patricia Benner and Virginia Henderson were consulted. The subject of metacognition was approached through its concept and metacognitive strategies, and by associating metacognition and nursing. It was concluded that the effectiveness of learning depends not only on experience and intellectual ability, but also the acquisition of cognitive and metacognitive strategies that enable students to plan and monitor their performance, thus fostering awareness of the processes used in order to learn. One must learn how to learn. RESUMEN Este artículo propone una reflexión sobre el aprendizaje de enfermería, repensando acerca de cómo sucede. El objeto de estudio es la metacognición como práctica educativa en enfermería. Tuvo como objetivo analizar la contribución de la metacognición en el desarrollo del proceso de las prácticas de enseñanza en enfermería. Para eso, se han consultado las Filosofías de Patricia Benner y la de Virginia Henderson. Se ha abordado el tema metacognición basado en su concepto, sus estrategias metacognitivas y relacionando la metacognición y la enfermería. Se concluyó que la eficacia del aprendizaje depende no sólo de la experiencia y del nivel intelectual, sino también de la adquisición de estrategias cognitivas y metacognitivas que les permitan a los estudiantes planificar y monitorear su desempeño, permitiendo la toma de consciencia de los procesos que utiliza para aprender. Estudo com abordagem qualitativa objetivando compreender as orientações apreendidas de puérperas em alojamento conjunto e discutir as ações do enfermeiro educador na perspectiva da Teoria de Peplau. A amostra constou de 27 mulheres enquadradas nos seguintes critérios: idade igual ou maior que 18 anos; estar no puerpério; ter ficado com o bebê em alojamento conjunto durante sua estadia na maternidade. A coleta de dados decorreu de junho a julho de 2014. Após análise das entrevistas emergiram três categorias e suas subcategorias: orientações fornecidas pelo enfermeiro acerca dos cuidados com o recém-nascido; orientações relativas aos cuidados com as puérperas; memória das puérperas acerca das orientações recebidas. A evidência dos resultados demonstrou que a escuta foi instrumento identificado como ação terapêutica mais empregada pelas enfermeiras e os papéis desenvolvidos exercidos de acordo com as necessidades das puérperas, atendendo à dinâmica do relacionamento interpessoal tornando-as mais autônomas e satisfeitas nos seus cuidados.

Abstract Objective: To propose a tool to evaluate the dynamic interaction between mother-child-environment in breastfeeding, guided by the Interactive Theory of Breastfeeding. Method: A methodological study that carried out a review of the literature to identify the types of scales available and listed the Pasquali's model and the five-point Likert scale as a guide for the construction process of the Interactive Breastfeeding Scale. Results: The scale consists of 58 items and the response options range from 1 to 5, where 1 means Never, 2 Rarely, 3 Sometimes, 4 Often, and 5 Always. The sum of the item scores ranges from 58 to 290, the higher the score, the greater the mother-child-environment interaction. Conclusion: The scale may direct clinical practice in the puerperium and puericulture, helping nurses and other professionals in the maternal-infant area to evaluate the factors that influence the dynamic of mother-child-environment interaction in breastfeeding.

Objetivo: Identificar os diagnósticos de enfermagem em pessoas com infarto do miocárdio em emergência hospitalar, segundo a teoria do autocuidado de Orem. Método: Estudo transversal, com 50 pacientes infartados e que estavam em condições de participar da pesquisa. A coleta de dados ocorreu por meio de entrevista, utilizando-se um formulário segundo a teoria do autocuidado, e foram formulados diagnósticos de enfermagem com base na Taxonomia da NANDA-I. Resultados: A maioria dos pacientes era mulheres (54%), na faixa etária de 60 a 69 anos (34%), renda familiar de um a dois salários mínimos (88%), com ensino fundamental (70%) e aposentados (76%). Houve alta frequência de hipertensão arterial (62%), inatividade física (76%) e tabagismo (70%). O teste rápido para troponina foi positivo em 16 pessoas (32%). Muitos infartados apresentavam déficits de autocuidado que apontaram 10 diagnósticos de enfermagem, destacando-se o estilo de vida sedentário (80%), mobilidade física prejudicada (76%) e risco de intolerância à atividade (76%). Comportamentos de saúde propenso a risco e autonegligência tiveram relação com três requisitos de autocuidado. Conclusão: Os pacientes necessitavam de assistência em saúde quanto às mudanças no estilo de vida, medidas de conforto e realização de atividade e repouso.

ABSTRACT Objective: to make the cultural adaptation and evaluate the reliability of the Brazilian version of the General Comfort Questionnaire for chronic hemodialytic renal patients. Method: methodological study with the following steps: translation; consensus among judges; back-translation; validation of equivalence (semantic, idiomatic, experimental and conceptual) by 12 judges; and pre-test with 80 chronic renal patients on hemodialysis. Reliability was checked through measures of internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha). Results: the overall consensus of the instrument had 94.3% of equivalence. Twenty-one items of the instrument were modified. Of these, only two needed semantic and idiomatic changes. The other 19 underwent few modifications, such as reversing words in the sentence and replacing some corresponding synonym terms. The Cronbach’s alpha was 0.80, indicating optimal internal consistency. In the application, the total score ranged from 116 to 172 points (M = 151.66; SD = ± 12.60). Conclusion: the validation of the Portuguese version of the instrument represents one additional resource to be made available to nephrologist nurses; it will aid in directing the decision-making so that the nursing interventions be performed according to the level of comfort and domain, either physical, socio-cultural, environmental or psycho-spiritual. Objetivo: compreender o processo da comunicação interpessoal na trajetória dos pacientes em cuidados paliativos à luz de Peplau. Método: estudo exploratório e descritivo de abordagem qualitativa. Participaram pacientes em cuidados paliativos de um hospital de Brasília, Distrito Federal. Os dados foram coletados em setembro e outubro de 2015, por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e foram submetidos a análise de conteúdo com auxílio do software Alceste. Resultados: da análise de conteúdo emergiram dois eixos. O primeiro refere-se à comunicação das más notícias, o tratamento e as estratégias de enfrentamento; o segundo relaciona-se a fatores resilientes que ajudaram a superar as adversidades. Conclusão: as necessidades sentidas pelos pacientes foram atendidas por meio de uma comunicação eficaz, e a equipe mobilizou as melhores capacidades e potencialidades do ser humano para enfrentar as situações estressoras e preservar a autonomia e a dignidade de pessoas sob seus cuidados.Descritores: Comunicação. ResumoObjetivo:Analisar a teoria ambientalista de Florence Nightingale com base no modelo proposto por Johnson e Webber.Métodos:Estudo teórico e reflexivo realizado nos meses de novembro e dezembro de 2012. Análise da teoria com base em oito critérios: significado, limites, linguagem, conceitos, formulação de proposições, variáveis e hipóteses, conhecimento teórico ajuda a explanar e predizer o fenômeno e conhecimento teórico influencia a prática de enfermagem.Resultados:A teoria apresenta: clareza de significado de ideias, limites claros, nível de compreensão acima de 90%, os principais conceitos, proposições formuladas com base nos conceitos, variáveis e hipóteses que ajudam a entender e interpretar proposições, influência na prática da enfermagem.Conclusão:Conclui-se que a teoria ambientalista de Florence Nightingale possui conceitos que servem de parâmetro na atualidade, sendo a sua relevância considerada um marco na história da enfermagem.

ResumoObjetivo:Pesquisa cujo objetivo foi analisar o processo de comunicação na equipe de enfermagem, com base nos elementos teóricos preconizados por Berlo e King, e discutir suas contribuições para o cuidado de enfermagem.Método:Qualitativo-descritivo, desenvolvido com 25 membros da equipe de enfermagem de uma clínica médica hospitalar. Realizou-se entrevista semiestruturada e análise temática de conteúdo. Os referenciais teóricos foram: uma teoria de comunicação, de Berlo, e uma teoria de enfermagem, a de King.Resultados:Para a equipe de enfermagem, a comunicação se expressa de diversas formas, sendo algo amplo abrangendo muito mais que a própria fala. A equipe se consolida como um sistema social, que pode ser influenciado pela hierarquia, o poder e o status.Conclusão:A eficiência da comunicação entre os membros da equipe de enfermagem mantém as boas relações interpessoais, auxiliando na assistência tornando o trabalho de todos mais efetivo.

Objetivou-se delinear uma perspectiva de cuidar em enfermagem fundamentada nos valores essenciais propostos por Phil Baker nesse modelo. Buscou-se, sem sucesso, em bases de dados, produção sobre essa teoria, no idioma português, trabalho completo de enfermagem disponível online. Utilizou-se o livro Modelos y teorias en enfermería, publicado em 2011, em inglês e espanhol. Os conceitos e ideias do autor dessa teoria possibilitaram vincular os princípios da Sociopoética à compreensão dos valores essenciais desse modelo, que remete às ações próprias da equipe de cuidados qualificados. Respondeu-se à questão inicial, com alcance do objetivo formulado, mediante a proposição de uma perspectiva estética e sociopoética do cuidar, fundamentada nos 10 compromissos dessa teoria. Compete aos profissionais de enfermagem promover uma interação cuidadosa e sensível com as pessoas, num espaço onde o cuidar é algo sagrado. ABSTRACT It is asked how an aesthetic and sociopoetic perspective on caring for people with mental suffering can be constructed on the basis of the Tidal Model. The aim was to outline a perspective on nursing care grounded in the core val­ues proposed by Phil Barker in the Tidal Model in nursing. A search in databases for full-length nursing studies this theory, published and available online in Portuguese, was unsuccessful. The book Modelos y teorías en enfermería, published in 2011, in English and Spanish. The concepts and ideas of the author of this theory made it possible to link the principles of Sociopoetics to an understanding of the essential values of this model, which relates to actions proper to a skilled care team. Thus the initial question was answered, and the goal achieved, by the proposal of an aesthetic and sociopoetic perspective on caring, based on the 10 commitments of the theory. It is up to professional nurses to foster sensitive, careful interaction with people in a place where caring is sacred. RESUMEN Se indaga acerca de la construcción de una perspectiva estética y sociopoética del cuidar de personas con sufrim­iento psíquico, considerando el Tidal Model. Se objetivó delinear una perspectiva de cuidar en enfermería fundamentada en los valores essenciales propuestos por Phil Barker en esa teoría. Se buscó, sin suceso, en bases de datos, produccíon sobre esa teoría, en português, trabajo completo de enfermería disponible online. Study aimed to identify diagnoses and plan outcomes and interventions based on the CIPE® nomenclature and on the theory of adaptation to hypertensive patients with associated diseases. It is a multiple case study conducted with 45 users of the Family Health Strategy and registered in HIPERDIA. The most frequent diagnoses identified were partial self-care (93.3%), decreased exercise pattern (84.4%), impaired dentition (82.2%), and low learning process (60%). Outcomes and interventions aimed at improving adherence to treatment and quality of life were planned for these diagnoses. The results of this study highlight the need for care of hypertensives with complications, supporting a theoretical foundation and practice of nursing care through the development of statements of diagnoses, outcomes, and interventions. doi: 10.5216/ree.v16i4.22945.

Background: The use of a conceptual model as the Betty Neuman's during the nursing appointment with the patient aims to identify stressors, plan, and implement nursing care with the purpose of reestablishing the equilibrium of the patient. Objective: To reflect on the applicability of the Betty Neuman systems model in the provision of nursing care to the patient with a peripheral venous catheter (PVC) for the administration of intravenous therapy. Background: The construction of data collection tools for the nursing appointment should be based on the characteristics and specificities of the population and place of employment. Objective: To validate the appearance and content of the data collection tool for the nursing appointment of the person with diabetes mellitus and/or systemic hypertension within the context of primary health care (PHC). Methodology: A methodological study was developed by means of the Delphi method from April to September of 2016, with 30 nurses from the PHC practice and teaching. The tool was based on the conceptual model by Wanda Horta and the Theory of Self-Care by Dorothea Orem, composed of 6 dimensions: Identification, Psychosocial, Psychospiritual, Psychobiological needs, and Disease perception and Self-care, subdivided into 25 categories. For analysis purposes, the Content Validity Index (CVI) ≥ 0.80 was used. Results: All categories of the instrument's dimensions obtained a CVI ≥ 0.80, with emphasis on the dimensions of Psychosocial and Psychospiritual needs. Background: Supporting nursing practice on the discipline's conceptions is currently one of the biggest challenges, which is why it is important to understand nurses' views. Objective: Analyzing hospital nurses' perception of the relevance of the theoretical framework for sustaining their professional practice. Methodology: A qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study carried out in 19 hospitals, involving 56 nurses. The tool used for collecting data was a semi-structured interview. Results: Data analysis resulted in the following categories: Relevance of the theoretical framework for professional practice in nursing; Theoretical framework guiding professional practice in nursing; Constraints to the integration of the theoretical nursing framework and Strategies for the integration of theoretical nursing framework. Conclusion: Nurses' intention to adopt a practice based on the theoretical framework of the discipline has been negatively influenced by their practice environment and by the difficulty in understanding and integrating the theoretical framework, thus resulting in the need to adopt strategies. Objective: To identify the meanings that young students attribute to conceptions and practices of selfcare in health from a cultural approach. Methodology: The methodology addressed was qualitative from an ethnographic orientation, based on 23 in-depth interviews to young students from three basic high school education institutions in Manizales. The analysis highlights the selection of trends and the initial descriptive codes, which gave place to subcategories and categories that, nurtured the construction of meanings that participants attribute to conceptions and practices face up to self-care in health. Results: The meanings conceived as a symbolic construction that participants attribute to self-care in health were described from their heterogeneity, because the conceptions and practices arise from the cultural. Self-care of health is perceived as a family matter, from a perspective of co-responsibility and parental support. The emergence of the category of work as a practice stresses the subjective world of youth, generating contradictions, motivations, expectations and new subjective meanings. However, the nature of these works in precarious circumstances shows the difficulties in their material, social, cultural and symbolic conditions of life. Conclusions: The participants construct the meanings of self-care in health from the mobilization of knowledge and practices from the ideal of family matter, seen as parental support. The emergent category of work is a producer of new meanings, those that reveal precarious material, social and symbolic conditions associated with the youthful experiential connection.
