This paper was written to postgraduate students of Physics. It is shown didactically how to calculate rigorously the wrinkling wavelengths observed when rigid thin films are deposited on soft elastic substrates. Our predictions are compared with DLC films deposited on PDMS substrates. Key words: wrinkling wavelengths; thin films.

In this work nanocomposites formed by gold ion implantation in PMMA, using low energy, are analyzed by transmission electron microscopy, concerning to the nanoparticles size and distribution.

International audience; Xenarthrans—anteaters, sloths, and armadillos—have essential functions forecosystem maintenance, such as insect control and nutrient cycling, playing key roles as ecosys-tem engineers. Because of habitat loss and fragmentation, hunting pressure, and conflicts withdomestic dogs, these species have been threatened locally, regionally, or even across their fulldistribution ranges. The Neotropics harbor 21 species of armadillos, 10 anteaters, and 6 sloths.Our data set includes the families Chlamyphoridae (13), Dasypodidae (7), Myrmecophagidae(3), Bradypodidae (4), and Megalonychidae (2). We have no occurrence data onDasypus pilo-sus(Dasypodidae). Regarding Cyclopedidae, until recently, only one species was recognized,but new genetic studies have revealed that the group is represented by seven species. In thisdata paper, we compiled a total of 42,528 records of 31 species, represented by occurrence andquantitative data, totaling 24,847 unique georeferenced records. The geographic range is fromthe southern United States, Mexico, and Caribbean countries at the northern portion of theNeotropics, to the austral distribution in Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and Uruguay. Regardinganteaters,Myrmecophaga tridactylahas the most records (n=5,941), andCyclopessp. havethe fewest (n=240). The armadillo species with the most data isDasypus novemcinctus(n=11,588), and the fewest data are recorded forCalyptophractus retusus(n=33). Withregard to sloth species,Bradypus variegatushas the most records (n=962), andBradypus pyg-maeushas the fewest (n=12). Our main objective with Neotropical Xenarthrans is to makeoccurrence and quantitative data available to facilitate more ecological research, particularly ifwe integrate the xenarthran data with other data sets of Neotropical Series that will become available very soon (i.e., Neotropical Carnivores, Neotropical Invasive Mammals, andNeotropical Hunters and Dogs). Therefore, studies on trophic cascades, hunting pressure,habitat loss, fragmentation effects, species invasion, and climate change effects will be possiblewith the Neotropical Xenarthrans data set. This article features and analyses the view of some Portuguese sign language interpreters regarding the school hiring applications based on the ruling laws and the implications in the admission access. The process was based on two focus groups consisting of Portuguese sign language interpreters who worked or had worked at bilingual education reference schools for deaf students, before and after the implementation of the law number 132/2012. The survey stresses the main results concerning the hiring recruitment process of these technicians and their functions at the schools referred to above, as well as the impact of the criteria ambiguity imposed by the schools, the preparation of a countless number of portfolios and interviews which lead to an assigned classification. The testimonials show the difficulties felt by the Portuguese sign language interpreters and their expectations for equitableapplications and selection. As the responsibility of the candidates’ selection comes from the schools management departments, this study aims to contribute for the reflection and the controversies linked to these applications in order to promote an efficient hiring system., Ce document analyse et présente le point de vue de certains interprètes de langue des signes portugaise faisant allusion aux concours de recrutement de l’école, sur la base de la législation, et leurs implications pour l’accès à leur admission. Le processus a été basée sur deux groupes de discussion ayant comme exigence interprètes de langues des signes qui avait exercé ou ont exercé fonctions dans les Écoles de Référence pour l´Éducation Bilingue des Étudiants Sourds(EREBAS), avant et après la mise en application du décret-loi nº. 132/2012. L’étude met en évidence les principaux résultats obtenus par le système de recrutement de ces techniciens pour l’exercice de leur fonction dans EREBAS, ainsi comme l’impact de l’ambiguïté des sous-critères imposés par les écoles, l´élaboration de nombreux dossiers et la réalisation des entrevues qui résultent dans l`átribution d’un classement. Les déclarations soulignent les difficultés rencontrées par les interprètes en langue des signes portugaise et de leurs attentes pour une compétition et une sélection équitables. Sachant que c’est de la responsabilité de la diretion des écoles effectuer la sélection des candidats, l’objectif de cette étude est contribuer à la réflexion des controverses qui entourent les concours afin de promouvoir un système de recrutement efficace., O presente artigo analisa e apresenta a visão de alguns intérpretes de língua gestual portuguesa alusiva aos concursos de contratação de escola, com base na legislação em vigor, e as suas implicações no acesso à admissão. O processo baseou-se em dois grupos focais, tendo como requisito serem intérpretes de língua gestual portuguesa que tivessem exercido ou exercessem funções em Escolas de Referência para a Educação Bilingue de Alunos Surdos (EREBAS) antes e após a implementação do Decreto-lei nº. 132/2012. O estudo salienta os principais resultados obtidos, referentes ao sistema de recrutamento de contratação destes técnicos para o exercício da sua função nas EREBAS, como o impacto da ambiguidade dos subcritérios impostos pelas escolas, a elaboração de inúmeros portefólios e a realização de entrevistas de avaliação de competências que se traduzem numa classificação atribuída. Os depoimentos apontam para as dificuldades sentidas pelos intérpretes de língua gestual portuguesa e as suas expetativas para um concurso e seleção equitativos. Verificando-se que é da responsabilidade da Direção das escolas executar a seleção do candidato, pretende-se com este estudo contribuir para a reflexão das controvérsias em torno dos concursos, com vista a promover um sistema de recrutamento eficaz.

Avaliar, através de uma revisão sistemática, a literatura disponível sobre estudos que avaliaram a associação entre disfunção temporomandibular e ansiedade em adultos. Métodos. Foram considerados estudos elegíveis que utilizaram os Critérios de Diagnóstico para Pesquisa em Disfunção Temporomandibular (RDC/ TMD) ou Critérios Diagnósticos (DC/ TMD) e questionários validados para avaliar a ansiedade. Seis principais bases de dados eletrônicas foram pesquisadas, complementadas com três bases de dados da literatura cinzenta. O risco de viés foi avaliado utilizando a ferramenta Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklist for Analytical Cross-Sectional Studies, Case control, and Cohort studies. Resultados. Foram encontradas 1087 referências identificadas colocar na metodologia 18 estudos observacionais foram incluídos para a síntese qualitativa. No geral, uma associação positiva entre DTM e ansiedade foi observada em 13 estudos. Considerando ferramentas específicas para avaliação da ansiedade, foram encontrados resultados conflitantes. Heterogeneidade clínica e metodológica foram observadas entre os estudos. Subgrupos diagnósticos de DTM (como muscular e articular) foram frequentemente mal informados. Entre cinco artigos investigando diagnósticos específicos de DTM, uma associação positiva com sintomas de ansiedade foi observada em dois estudos que avaliaram o deslocamento de disco e em um estudo que investigou a dor miofascial crônica. Em relação ao risco de viés, 13 estudos foram julgados com baixo risco e cinco com risco moderado. Conclusão. Considerando as evidências disponíveis, uma associação positiva entre DTM e sintomas de ansiedade foi apoiada pela maioria dos estudos incluídos. Abstract: Purpose. To systematically review and critically appraise available literature regarding studies that evaluated the association between temporomandibular disorder and anxiety in adults. Methods. We considered eligible studies that used the Research Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (RDC/ TMD) or Diagnostic Criteria (DC/ TMD) and validated tools for assessing anxiety. Six main electronic databases were searched, complemented with three grey literature databases. Risk of bias was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklists, Case-Control, and Cohort studies. Results. Out of 1087 references identified up to June 2018, 18 observational studies were included for the qualitative synthesis. Overall, a positive association between TMD and anxiety was observed in 13 studies. Considering specific tools for anxiety assessment, conflicting results were found. Substantial clinical and methodological heterogeneity across studies were observed. TMD diagnostic subgroups (such as muscular and articular) were often poorly reported. Among five articles investigating specific TMD diagnoses, a positive association with anxiety symptoms was observed in two studies evaluating disc displacement and in one study investigating chronic myofascial pain. Regarding risk of bias, 13 studies were judged with low risk and five with moderate risk. Conclusions. Considering the available evidence, a positive association between TMD and anxiety symptoms was supported by most of the included studies.

RESUMEN: La investigación tuvo como objetivo el estudio sociovariacional del español panameño, con enfoque en la influencia de parámetros sociales en la elección de las formas de tratamiento (tu x usted), con base en los estudios de Blas Arroyo (2012). Más allá de eso, profundizamos la investigación fijándonos en la problemática del continuum lingüístico sugerida por Quesada (2013), y con base en el estudio de Aleza Izquierdo y Enguita Utrilla (2010) sobre la lengua hispanoamericana. Para eso, fue recogido corpus lingüístico actual de Panamá, con la finalidad de verificar la vigencia del ustedeo y sus contextos de uso. Como resultados, se observó que los panameños, en ciudades periféricas, utilizan el ustedeo con mayor frecuencia que en la capital, aunque, en esta, las dos formas coexistan. De esta manera, se constató, contrariamente a la hipótesis de Quesada (2013), que el uso del tuteo, en el centro, no representa una interrupción total del continuum del ustedeo. ABSTR ACT: The objective of the research was to study the socio-political aspects of Panamanian Spanish, with a focus on the influence of social parameters on the choice of treatment methods (tu x you), based on Blas Arroyo (2012) studies. Beyond that, we deepen our research by looking at the problematic of the linguistic continuum suggested by Quesada (2013), and based on the study of Aleza Izquierdo y Enguita Utrilla (2010) about the Spanish-American language. For that, it was collected current linguistic corpus of Panama, with the purpose of verifying the validity of the ustedeo and the contexts of use. As a result, it was observed that Panamanians, in peripheral cities, use the script more frequently than in the capital, although, in this case, the two forms coexist. Thus, contrary to the Quesada (2013) hypothesis, the use of tuteo, in the center, does not represent a total interruption of the continuum of the ustedeo. KEYWORDS: Panama. Pronouns of treatment.
