Hydrocolloids have good functional properties,such as improving emulsification,gelation,solubility and texture of food.In bakery products,hydrocolloids are used to improve the properties of dough,bread and cake,increase sensory quality and extend shelf life.Studies have reported the potential use of hydrocolloids in breads,biscuits,cakes and pasta preparation.Effects of common hydrocolloid (xanthan,guar,Arabic,k-carrageenan,karaya,alginate,methylcellulose,carboxy methyl cellulose,hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose) on the rheology,physicochemistry,texture and other quality characteristics of baked foods were summarized.The addition of hydrocolloid significantly improves the color,appearance,flavor and overall acceptability of the product.

Molybdenum dioxide (MoO2) is regarded as a potential anode for lithium-ion batteries due to its highly theoretical specific capacity. However, its further application in lithium-ion battery is largely limited by insufficient practical discharge capacity and cyclic performance. Here, MoO2 nanoparticles are in-situ grown on three-dimensional nitrogen doped carbon nanotubes (NCNTs) on nickel foam substrate homogeneously using a simple electro-deposition method. The unique structural features are favorable for lithium ions insertion and extraction and charge transfer dynamics at electrode/electrolyte interface. As a proof of concept, the as-synthesized nanocomposites have been employed as anode for lithium-ion battery, exhibiting a reversible and significantly improved discharge capacity of ∼517 mA h g−1 at the current density of 150 mA g−1 as well as superior cycle and rate performance. The first-principle calculations based on density functional theory and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results demonstrate a reduced energy barrier of lithium ions diffusion, improved lithium storage behavior, reduced structure collapse, and significantly enhanced charge transfer kinetics in MoO2/NCNTs nanocomposites with respect to MoO2 powder. The excellent performance makes as-prepared MoO2/NCNTs nanocomposites promising binder-free anode for high performance lithium-ion batteries. Rotator cuff repair is a common orthopaedic procedure. Despite advancements in the mechanics of rotator cuff repair, the re-tear rate post repair remains significant. This review assesses the available literature on usage of collagen bio-inductive scaffolds for rotator cuff repairs. Augmentation of biology is a key strategy to improving success of rotator cuff repair. Current evidence suggests that augmentation of rotator cuff repairs with a collagen bio-inductive scaffold improves the thickness of the rotator cuff. There is a favourable safety profile, and its usage may improve re-tear rates. However, there is currently no consensus on whether clinical outcomes are improved by the usage of collagen bio-inductive scaffolds. Further research is necessary to increase our understanding of the clinical effects of using collagen bio-inductive scaffolds and to determine which patient profiles will best benefit from its usage. Based on the policy text from 1999 to 2022, this paper quantitatively analyzes photovoltaic power, wind power and new energy policies in mainland China by keyword capture and policy strength and establishes a spatial Durbin model to study the carbon reduction effects. The results show the following: (1) The development of new energy is primarily project-based and concentrated in rural areas. (2) Financial support is a double-edged sword. (3) After the implementation of the Renewable Energy Law in 2015, the change trend in policy quantity, total policy intensity, and average policy intensity is generally consistent. (4) The increase in the strength of new energy policies has effectively reduced the intensity of provincial carbon dioxide emissions. (5) New energy policies introduced in a single region are less effective in reducing carbon emissions than joint regional regulation. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality and coordination of new energy policies through the effective convergence of policies and regular evaluations to enhance the positive guidance of the policies. Policy measures for new energy are refined in three areas: improving the amount and quality of new energy policies, strengthening new energy policies and establishing cooperation mechanisms for the cross-regional consumption of new energy. Introduction: Globally, B‐mode ultrasound is the most common modality used for the diagnosis of hepatic steatosis. We aimed to assess the correlation between qualitative liver ultrasound parameters, attenuation imaging (ATI) and histopathology‐diagnosed steatosis grade obtained from liver biopsy. Our secondary aim was to examine the interobserver variability of qualitative ultrasound features. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was performed which included adult patients (age ≥ 18 years) who had same‐day liver ultrasound, ATI and liver biopsy for grading hepatic steatosis severity between 2018 and 2022. The qualitative US features for hepatic steatosis were independently scored by three radiologists and interobserver variability was examined. Histologic steatosis grade, ATI and qualitative ultrasound parameters were compared. Results: Ninety patients were included; 67% female with a median age of 54 (IQR 39–65) years. The radiologist's overall impression had the highest correlation (very strongly correlated) with histologic steatosis grade (r = 0.82, P < 0.001). ATI coefficient and all qualitative ultrasound B‐mode features except for liver echotexture and focal fat sparing were strongly correlated with histologic steatosis grade (r ≥ 0.70, P < 0.001). Most qualitative ultrasound features had good agreement between observers (Kappa statistic 0.61–1.0, P < 0.001), (Kendall coefficient 0.92, P < 0.001). Conclusion: The examined qualitative ultrasound parameters and ATI had good‐excellent performance for diagnosing clinically significant hepatic steatosis; however, the radiologist's overall impression had the best correlation with histologic steatosis grade. Our findings suggest an ongoing role for qualitative liver ultrasound assessment of hepatic steatosis despite the emergence of newer quantitative measures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Calcium bismuth niobate (CBN) ceramic, as a core element of high-temperature piezoelectric sensors, has attracted widespread attention due to its high Curie temperature within the class of Aurivillius compounds. However, CBN usually faces two shortcomings: poor piezoelectric constant and low resistivity. In this work, CBN-based ceramics with donor–acceptor ions (W/Co) co-substituted at B-site were prepared by solid-state reaction method, and structure–property relationship of ceramics was studied in detail. Co-substitution of W/Co ions effectively improved the electrical property and hardness of CBN ceramics. CaBi2Nb 1. 9 1 (W 2 / 3 Co 1 / 3 ) 0. 0 9 O9 exhibits enhanced electrical and mechanical properties including high resistivity of ∼ 1 0 7 Ω ⋅ cm at 500°C, piezoelectric constant of ∼ 1 5. 3 pC/N and hardness value of ∼ 3. 5 7 GPa. These values are two orders of magnitude, over two times, and 1.36 times higher than those of pure CBN ceramic, respectively. Both the intrinsic and extrinsic contributions to the high energy storage properties of (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 were investigated herein by employing Bi(Mg2/3Ta1/3)O3 as a second component to synthesize novel environment‐friendly energy storage ceramics. The role of the second component was confirmed to reduce the intrinsic activation of electrons, which effectively improves the band gap values and reduces the probability of intrinsic breakdown. Phase field simulation was employed to confirm that the smaller grain size of the modified ceramic microstructure enhances the extrinsic breakdown and dielectric breakdown strength. Moreover, ab initio molecular dynamics were used to investigate the critical role of the Mg ions in lowering the initial polarization and forming nanodomains, representing the intrinsic contribution to decreasing the initial polarization. An intrinsic structure with moderate polarization rapidly increases the polarization of ceramics under external electric fields, facilitating high energy storage density. The prepared ceramics achieve a recoverable energy density (Wrec) of 3.86 J/cm3 and energy efficiency (η) of 81.2% at 385 kV/cm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
