Abstract

In the path planning of mobile robot, aiming at the problem that the rapidly-exploring random tree (RRT) algorithm, which adopts the global uniform sampling strategy, leads to strong randomness and non-progressive optimization in the process of path growth, an improved RRT algorithm is proposed. Firstly, in the sampling stage, we establish the region sampling to select target points, and add gravitational component to solve the problem of RRT algorithm which is too random. Secondly, the obstacle expansion method is adopted to solve the limitation of long sampling time when the growing tree is close to the obstacle area. In view of the difficulty of the narrow-channel robot to pass, the ”Bridge Test” is introduced to guide the robot to walk. The improved algorithm effectively reduces the occupied space memory, running time and number of nodes, shortens the path length at the same time. By comparing the improved RRT algorithm with the basic RRT algorithm and the asymptotically optimal bi-directional rapidly-exploring random tree (B-RRT*) algorithm, the simulation results show that the improved RRT algorithm has shorter path and better time, and is more efficiently.

Abstract

The automatic detection and identification of security inspection system is the inevitable trend of intelligent development. It is an important research problem to improve the accuracy and efficiency of X-ray security inspection equipment to detect dangerous goods. Taking the automatic tool detection and recognition system of security inspection system as the research object, aiming at the fact that the shallow characteristic chart representation ability of SSD algorithm is not strong, the small target feature of training stage gradually disappears, and the detection accuracy is not high, and there are some problems, such as missing detection and false detection of small targets such as controlling tool in security inspection dangerous goods. This paper proposes to replace the basic network VGGI 6of SSD with ResNetl01 with stronger anti-degradation performance to construct SSD-ResNet101 network structure. On this basis, the feature fusion method is used to make the shallow layer merge the deeper features to increase the receptive field of the shallow feature map. Make full use of the context information to improve the detection accuracy of the small target of dangerous goods in security inspection. The analysis of experimental test data shows that the improved algorithm has high detection accuracy, good real-time performance and good robustness to small targets such as control tools in security picture

Abstract

According to the characteristics of particle swarm optimization(PSO), this paper studies on utilizing PSO algorithm to solve the path planning problem of mobile robots in polar coordinate system by polar angle. In order to solve the problem of particles falling into local extreme, which comes from the decline of the diversity of particle population in the later stage of searching, a mutation operation method was proposed. It enables particles to perform mutation operation while retaining most of the previous searching experience. So as to increase the diversity of population and make particles escape from local extreme. For the problem of the path points searched by PSO have many redundant path points, a de-redundant algorithm was proposed to remove them and make the path better. By environment modeling, improved algorithm and other methods are used for path planning. The comparison of simulation analysis shows that the improved PSO algorithm has more effective iterations, the planned path length is shorter, and the running time is not increased, which verifies the effectiveness of the method.

Abstract

Artificial photosynthesis by CO2 photoreduction is an ideal channel for mitigating the greenhouse effect and energy crises. Nevertheless, its efficiency is still low due to severe charge recombination and sluggish kinetics. Herein, an S‐scheme BiOBr/NiO heterojunction, composed of two kinds of p‐type semiconductors, exhibits enhanced CO2 photoreduction activity. Enhanced light absorption and specific surface area are attributable to NiO nanosheets with hierarchical porous structures. Results from in situ irradiated X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and work function calculation manifest that the photoexcited electrons transfer from BiOBr to NiO via the S‐scheme mechanism. And charge separation and a strong redox ability are simultaneously realized. In situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectra unveil complex intermediates in CO2 photoreduction. This work presents a novel understanding for the CO2 photoreduction mechanism of S‐scheme heterojunctions built by p‐type semiconductors by integrating in situ monitoring techniques with density functional theory calculation. Abstract

Solar‐driven semiconductor photocatalysis shows great potential to solve growing energy and environmental crises. Electrospun TiO2 nanofibers (NFs) attract attention due to their chemical stability, nontoxicity, cheapness, large specific surface area, and porous structures. The unique unwoven nanofibrous network facilitates mass transportation compared with bulk materials. Electrospun TiO2 NFs are an ideal substrate for growing secondary nanostructures and constructing heterojunction photocatalysts. The hybrid heterojunctions show enhanced electron–hole separation, improved light absorption, effective activation of reactants, and therefore increased photocatalytic performance. Herein, the electrospinning principle and preparing tactics of electrospun TiO2 fibrous nanostructures including solid, hollow, and core/shell NFs are first described. The construction strategies of electrospun TiO2‐based heterojunctions by loading electron or hole cocatalysts and hybridizing secondary semiconductors to engineer catalytic active sites and steer charge carrier separation are outlined. Dopant‐induced increased light absorption and enhanced charge transfer of TiO2 NFs are discussed. Further, the applications of electrospun TiO2‐based photocatalysts for solar‐to‐chemical conversion and environmental remediation are elucidated. Finally, the challenges and perspectives for the development of electrospun TiO2‐based photocatalysts are underlined, which deepen a systematic understanding of the design and fabrication of more efficient electrospun NFs in the future. Abstract

In this work, a series of polyurethane/montmorillonite (PU/MMT) nanocomposite films were prepared by in-situ polymerization method. The effect of MMT contents on the properties of the films was investigated using various test methods. MMT enhanced the thermal stability of the films, and the glass transition temperature of PU/MMT films was increased because MMT limited the movement of molecular chains of PU. MMT was well-dispersed in the nanocomposites because the agglomeration of MMT was inhibited by mechanical force. Especially in the PU/4% MMT nanocomposite, MMT showed the best dispersibility. This study showed that the addition of MMT effectively improved the properties of the PU/MMT nanocomposite films. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

A new biodegradable, renewable, and environmentally friendly starch-based wood adhesive that can be used at room temperature was synthesized by grafting of itaconic acid (IA) monomer onto cassava starch. When the addition of IA was 5% (starch basis), we can obtain the optimal mechanical properties of 15.38 MPa in dry state and 4.56 MPa in wet state. Compared with unmodified starch adhesive, the shear strength of grafted starch adhesive improved by 43.6% in dry state and 93.2% in wet state, respectively. The improved performance of the grafted starch-based wood adhesive was characterized by the measurement of viscosity and solid content, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), Thermogravimetry (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy analyses (SEM). The results showed that there was a new characteristic peak of ester at 1700 cm−1 in the infrared spectrogram, which indicated the successful grafting of IA onto starch. After grafting modification, the storage stability and thermal stability of starch adhesive were improved. From SEM images and XRD patterns, we can witness that the morphology and crystallinity of starch particles were changed, which as a supplement of FTIR, confirmed the improvement of bonding strength and water resistance of the adhesive. Abstract

This paper devotes to solving time-varying linear matrix equations (TVLMEs) from the viewpoint of high-order neural networks. For this purpose, high-order zeroing neural network (ZNN) models are designed and studied to solve TVLMEs. Compared with the first-order ZNN model for TVLMEs, the proposed high-order ZNN models are based on the design of the high-order error functions, and different order choices will generate different high-order ZNN models. Two nonlinear activation functions [i.e., tunable activation function (TunAF) and sign-bi-power activation function (SBPAF)] are used to speedup the high-order ZNN models for achieving the finite-time convergence. Furthermore, the strict theoretical analyses are provided to show that high-order ZNN models have better properties (especially in terms of convergence), when the nonlinear activation functions are used. Two numerical simulations are given to reveal the superior convergence property of the proposed high-order ZNN models, as compared to the first-order ZNN model for solving TVLMEs. 245. Tuning the strength of built-in electric field in 2D/2D g-C3N4/SnS2and g-C3N4/ZrS2S-scheme heterojunctions by nonmetal doping

Abstract

Single photocatalysts usually exhibit unsatisfactory performance due to the serious recombination of photogenerated electron‒hole pairs. Combining two photocatalysts to construct S-scheme heterojunction could solve this problem. In S-scheme mechanism, the interfacial built-in electric field (IEF) provides a vital driving force for efficient charge separation. Modifying the IEF is a feasible strategy to further improve the photocatalytic activity. Herein, a novel idea of tuning the strength of IEF in 2D/2D graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4)/MS2(M = Sn, Zr) S-scheme heterojunctions by nonmetal doping was developed by employing density functional theory calculation. Three nonmetal elements (O, P, and S) were severally introduced into g-C3N4/MS2composites. Charge density difference suggested that O and S doping led to increased interfacial electron transfer, while P doping had minimal influence. As expected, the calculated field strength of O- and S-doped g-C3N4/MS2composites was significantly larger than that of pristine and P-doped g-C3N4/MS2composites. Therefore, O and S doping endowed g-C3N4/MS2S-scheme heterojunctions with enhanced IEF and more thorough charge transfer. Correspondingly, the experimentally synthesized O-C3N4/SnS2composite exhibited better photocatalytic H2-production activity than g-C3N4/SnS2composite. This work proposed an original idea of employing proper nonmetal doping to magnify the advantage of S-scheme heterojunction in accelerating charge separation.

Abstract

Due to the sluggish kinetics of the hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) in alkaline electrolytes, the development of more efficient HOR catalysts is essential for the next generation of anion‐exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs). In this work, CeOx is selectively deposited onto carbon‐supported Pd nanoparticles by controlled surface reactions, aiming to enhance the homogenous distribution of CeOx and its preferential attachment to Pd nanoparticles, to achieve highly active CeOx‐Pd/C catalysts. The catalysts are characterized by inductively coupled plasma–atomic emission spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy, scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), electron energy loss spectroscopy, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy to confirm the bulk composition, phases present, morphology, elemental mapping, local oxidation, and surface chemical states, respectively. The intimate contact between Pd and CeOx is shown through high‐resolution STEM maps. The oxophilic nature of CeOx and its effect on Pd are probed by CO stripping. The interfacial contact area between CeOx and Pd nanoparticles is calculated for the first time and correlated to the electrochemical performance of the CeOx‐Pd/C catalysts. Highest recorded HOR specific exchange current (51.5 mA mg−1Pd) and H2–O2 AEMFC performance (peak power density of 1,169 mW cm−2 mgPd−1) are obtained with a CeOx‐Pd/C catalyst with Ce0.38/Pd bulk atomic ratio.
