This study was conducted to assess the effects of locale on the personality characteristics of the students measured in terms of big five factors personality. The sample comprised 250 rural and 250 urban students in the age range of 14 to 20 years belonging to Jaunpur U.P. (India) and studying in intermediate colleges. They were administered the Hindi version of big five factors personality scale. The descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data. The two groups differed significantly on all but one dimension (neuroticism). The results in general suggest that locale is an important variable which exerts differential effects on the personality of the adolescents. The results are vigorously discussed and interpreted and implications of the study are also underlined. The article reports that heat stress in dairy cattle is the leading causes of decreased production and fertility in dairy cattles. Topics include medians in India, annual total milk loss due to thermal stress was several million tonnes of the total milk production of the country; and considered heat stressed cattle may try to reduce the body heat through thermoregulatory mechanisms which affect feed conversion efficiency and lead to decreased milk production.

There is no comprehensive tool to assess global executive function of Indian adults. However, there are numerous Indian adaptations of performance based tools of cognitive function which assess executive function as a dimension, but of course no tool is available which can measure it separately and provide a global assessment of it. The Behaviour Rating Inventory of Executive Function-Adult version was developed originally in English language (Roth, Isquith, & Gioia, 2005). In view of the above, present study is an attempt to prepare a Hindi version of BRIEF-A, self-report. Translation and Back-translation method were used for this purpose. The sample comprised 100 participants coming both from the rural and urban areas of North India. The age range of participants was 40 to 60 years. Cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover is a highly polyphagous pest of significant economic importance in India. Enormous use of different insecticides in field is a common practise perform by farmer to minimise the infestation of aphids, but it causes detrimental effects on many non-target insects. There exists various natural enemies of A. gossypii that feed on aphids and helps in regulating their population density. Seven spotted ladybird beetle, Coccinella septumpunctata Linnaeus is one of the most important natural enemy of A. gossypii and act as a beneficial biological control agent. Present study strives to find out the toxic effects of some commonly used insecticides, when were sprayed in field to monitor the havoc of sucking insect pest. Based on LC50 values it was observed that among all insecticidal treatments, Acetamiprid 20 SP was most toxic and least safe treatment for C. septumpunctata followed by Acephate 75 SP, Dimethoate 30 EC whereas the Spinosad 45 SC observed as relatively safe insecticide with highest LC50 value. The LC50 values observed for Acetamiprid 20 SP, Acephate 75 SP, Dimethoate 30 EC and Spinosad 45 SC were 0.032, 0.134, 0.280 and 0.391 ppm, respectively. However, based on calculated 't' value, Dimethoate 30 EC was found to be relatively more toxic to C. septumpunctata than that of Acephate 75 SP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
