248. SYNTHESIS OF N-CARBOXYETHYLNAPHTHALIMIDES WITH FRAGMENTS OF PRIMARY AND SECONDARY AMINES IN POSITIONS 4 AND 5

Abstract

New N-carboxyethyl-1,8-naphthalimides with fragments of morpholine and piperidine in positions 4 and 5 of naphthalene ring were synthesized by acylation of β-alanine with 4,5-dimorpholino- and 4,5-dipiperidino-1,8-naphthalic anhydrides in acetic acid. Corresponding 4,5-disubstituted naphthalic anhydrides were obtained by nucleophilic substitution of chlorine atoms in 4,5-dichloro-1,8-naphthalic anhydride on corresponding electron donating amino substitutients using dimethyl sulfoxide as solvent. Starting 4,5-dichloro-1,8-naphthalic anhydride was obtained by oxidation of 4,5-disubstituted acenaphthene with sodium dichromate in acetic acid. The same sequence of reactions can not be used for synthesis of N-carboxyethyl-1,8-naphthalimides with 2-hydroxyethylamino groups in positions 4 and 5 as the main product of reaction of 4,5-dichloro-1,8-naphthalic anhydride with ethanolamine is the product of nucleophilic addition of primary amine to carbonyl group of anhydride cycle but not the product of chlorine atoms substitution. Thus N-carboxyethyl-4,5-di(2-hydroxyethylamino)-1,8-naphthalimide was obtained by acylation of β-alanine with 4,5-dichloro-1,8-naphthalic anhydride followed by chlorine atoms substitution in N-carboxyethyl-4,5-dichloro-1,8- naphthalimide. The synthesized N-carboxyethylnaphthalimides with morpholino-, piperidino and 2-hydroxyethylamino groups in positions 4 and 5 are orange crystal substances with yellow fluorescence. Their structure was confirmed by IR and NMR 1H spectroscopy. The obtained fluorophores have weak fluorescence in aqueous solutions but their fluorescence increases 14-22 times by addition of albumin, so they can be considered as perspective substances for their further research as fluorescent probes for proteins., Синтезовано N-карбоксиетилнафталіміди з залишками морфоліну та піперидину в положеннях 4 та 5 ацилуванням β-аланіну 4,5-диморфоліно- та 4,5-дипіперидинонафталевими ангідридами. N-карбоксиетилнафталіміди з залишками етаноламіну в положеннях 4 та 5 отримано ацилуванням β-аланіну 4,5-дихлоронафталевим ангідридом з подальшим заміщенням атомів хлору на 2-гідроксиетиламіногрупи. Показано, що інтенсивність флуоресценції синтезованих сполук у водному розчині альбуміну значно збільшується в порівнянні з водою, що дозволяє вважати ці речовини перспективними для використання як флуоресцентних зондів.

Abstract

Досліджено періодичні видання — цінні історичні джерела інформації в умовах створення цифрових архівів. Означено основні причини оцифрування періодичних видань: незадовільний фізичний стан та підвищений попит читачів. Розглянуто проєкти оцифрування газет, що здійснюються бібліотеками України. Підсумовано загальні ознаки незадовільного стану реалізації цифрових архівів періодики в бібліотеках України та визначено причини цього. Виявлено, що вирішення наявних проблем потребує комплексного підходу, зокрема розроблення спеціальної державної програми. Наведено закордонні національні проєкти з оцифрування періодики. Зазначено, що подібна програма передбачає взаємовигідну співпрацю між державними структурами та бібліотеками. Перелічено завдання, які потребують вирішення, для усунення проблем та розподілу обов’язків для успішної реалізації національної програми оцифрування., Relevance of this study. The issue of preserving the 19th –20th centuries periodicals is being actively discussed in Ukraine. Periodicals are valuable sources of information about political, economic, social, cultural and artistic events of the past. There is an urgent need to digitize periodicals. Digitization facilitates the preservation and the potential for use of periodicals. Libraries of Ukraine have trouble building digital archives of periodicals.The aim of this paper is to study the current state of digitizing periodicals in Ukraine; to identify problems and ways to eliminate them.Research methodology. The author analyzes the digital archives of Ukraine, national digital newspaper programs in other countries and scientific publications on the subject. In the process of research, the following general scientific methods have been used: analysis, synthesis, generalization and others.Results. The study describes the current state of digitizing periodicals in Ukraine and other countries. The importance of digitizing periodicals consti-tuting the documentary heritage of Ukraine is shown. This paper presents a review of national digital newspaper programs in other countries. The study demonstrates the need to build the national program of digitizing periodicals in Ukraine. The author describes advantages of digitization and digital archives.Novelty. The author argues that creating digitization program for preservation and accessibility of periodicals is important. The article provides the priority tasks for the state, libraries and private organizations.The practical significance. The main results of this study can be used by libraries to organize the digitization of periodicals and in close contact with the state, libraries and private organizations in building the national program of digitizing periodicals.Conclusion.
